Kafé Kalik at Fort Lauderdale Airport receives mixed reviews. Some customers praise the fast service and BBQ wings, especially with Priority Pass. Others report rude service, cold food, and long waits, even with empty tables.
Tip: If using Priority Pass, register your entry first to ensure better service. Be aware that the menu might change, causing delays.
It was such a wonderful experience, and the food was so delicious. The restaurant had both tables and chairs for dining; some sections were open, allowing you to see people walking by, while the waiting room had a section that was more private. The tables were clean, and the employees were really nice. My husband got the jerk chicken sandwich with some sweet potato fries, and I got the spiced curry chicken bowl. If you are at the Fort Lauderdale International Airport, you can't miss this place!
Service great! Order jerk chicken and rice. It was way too hot for me. But the flavor was really good. I just couldn't eat it. lol But they replaced my first meal for a burger and fries. And it was delicious. Thank you guys
Despite a bustling crowd and a bit of a wait, Kilk Kilk Caribbean Restaurant & Bar delivered an outstanding experience! Our server went above and beyond, squeezing our party of four into a cozy corner and even adding an extra seat. The food arrived surprisingly fast considering the packed house, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. Highly recommend for authentic Caribbean flavors and a warm, accommodating atmosphere. Five stars!
I had a fantastic experience at Kafe Kalik in Fort Lauderdale Airport! The chicken bowl was amazing—so flavorful with perfectly seasoned onions, curry, cumin, and other spices. Every bite was delicious. The jerk wings are a must-try—absolutely packed with flavor and a great way to start your meal. The service was fast and efficient. Our server was handling multiple tables but still managed to be attentive and friendly. The kitchen was on point, too—everything came out perfectly. The pricing is excellent, especially for airport dining. Meals ranged from $11 to $13, which is a great deal for the quality and portions. Overall, Kafe Kalik is a gem inside the airport. Great food, great service, and great prices. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
The express grab and go service offered at this restaurant is very convenient if you prefer not to sit down and order. On a previous occasion I ordered the prepackaged salad 🥗 with chicken on it and it was very filling. On this current visit to FLL my friend and I were traveling on separate flights, however we were both leaving from terminal 4. At first we were concerned whether we would have enough time to sit down and eat our meal. Our server was friendly, courteous and eased our concerns. We each ordered the spicy bowls - chicken and shrimp. The bowls were tastefully seasoned and not overly spicy. The food was prepared and served promptly and the portions were very satisfying. We each enjoyed our meal and made it to our gate(s) before departure. We will return again.
Wow! After reading all the bad reviews here I was skeptical to go, but since I had a priority pass I thought, what the heck! Let’s try it out! The food was so fresh and hot, it came out in 10 minutes tops. We had the spicy jerk wings, the guava sweet sauce wings, coconut shrimp, Bahamian burger and jerk chicken. Everything was very tasty! The hot jerk sauce was my favorite thing! So hot, spicy and super duper delicious! Our server was Orlando and he was very friendly, prompt, attentive and had a great sense of humor! I highly recommend this place!
I gave 5 star for everything. I was dining as a solo and they offered the bar seating area a few times. But I had to wait for a table because they wanted to sit 4 people to a table due to there being a line. Very busy spot. The service was fantastic really, despite them being really busy. Portion size was massive. I wasn't able to finish the whole plate. It was all very delicious. The fries were seasoned really well and had a great crunch to them. Aside from a longer than average wait that wasn't at the fault of staff, everything went very smooth. I left full and satisfied.
Due to amount of people you need to wait in line to be seated. Despite of all negative reviews I like the restaurant and I think it’s almost a best option to have a meal and not a junk food. We tried chicken curry bowl and it was delicious. You can choose between chicken and shrimps option for curry bowl. Price was also very nice. And staff were friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend this place.
I was pretty shocked to see a sub 3 star rating for this little spot at MIA. Wait was not long, food was good, but the service was terrific. The staff was so kind, friendly, and on top things. Wait was not too long for burgers that were good and the conch soup was tasty too. I recommend if at MIA gate G area. Again, staff was terrific especially Rogelio.
Don't be fooled by all the reviews from Karens. They're doing a good job and doing everything they can to accomodate the customers. I saw how people treat the workers there and how they HAVE to respond rudely. And I don't blame the servers. Just because you see an empty table does not mean you are entitled to enter and yell at the servers for not letting them sit. Also, one of the best foods I've ever had in an Airport which was pretty impressive. And yes, I also went there with Priority Pass.
This was our first experience here at FLL using the Priority pass, and definitely didn’t disappointed us, we landed on terminal 3 and had to walk some decent 10 minutes to terminal 4 the newest wing of the airport, the host seemed to be busy so we went straight to the bar section to be able to have a faster service. Lori was our server she was being trained by Kristine, they both did an excellent job helping us with our food orders and usage of the pass. We ordered the burgers and voy let me share with you “they were goooood”. Thank you Lori on your first day for treating us so well and doing a fantastic job and helping us to get food and great time during our visit to Kafe Kalik.
Long day of missed flights and transfers, the atmosphere of this place made me stop in. I was seated immediately and Demetrius took my order within 5 min of me sitting and suggested a great drink, flamingos something or another... idk it was strong lol. My order arrived hot and fresh... Plantains were just right and my coconut shrimp was not over cooked. My plate was cleared from the table right after I was done. Over all a great experience here. Good food and exceptional service!
Came here because it was one of the only places that would accept one of my food voucher from the airline that had cancelled my flight. I had 6 hours to kill at the airport. Despite long lines of customers, “to go” cashier Dawn was extremely pleasant and helpful by letting me know a few other places that would accept my vouchers. Food was great. I got the jerk chicken sandwich and a spicy beef patty. The wait time was estimated at 20 mins but it was done in 10. Great place!
We thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Had the chicken wings with bbq agave and as a person from wing capital (of the world), these are in the top 5 of wings in the southern states. The coconut shrimp are a weakness of mine and loved them. It is truly a pleasant suprise. The ambeince of this place is of a Caribbean diner with pleasant matching music. A great distraction waiting to board. I highly recommend the passion fruit lemonade. I, too, was confused by the low rating.
Saw the reviews and almost went somewhere else. I wanted to watch the NFL game while I ate, so I decided to give it a try. Also very few other options available in this terminal. Surprised that the jerk chicken sandwich was actually quite tasty. Same with the sweet potato fries. The servers were also quite nice and service was quick. My only complaint would be the draft beer selection. Bud Light and Miller? No microbrews?
Food was very very delicious! 😍 Portion size of the meals were very filling, we enjoyed it. You can’t dine in if you don’t let them know beforehand.
Vibe- A restaurant inside the airport to grab some food! Customer service- Great! The server I had was good. I had plenty of time to sit and wait but it did take a little while to have my order taken because it seemed they may have been short staffed. Food/drinks- I ordered the spiced curry bowl with veggies and an order of fries. They were both very tasty.
Stopped here for a bite to eat before boarding my flight. I ordered the curry chicken and rice bowl, the food was very flavorful and came out hot. We also had the jerk wings which were delicious. For a full meal in the airport you wont find a better price. We soent under $40. Definitely check them out on your next trip to the FLL airport.
The curried rice and shrimp dish was actually quite good. There was a lot of shrimp in the dish, the flavor was good and it was filling. The conch soup wasn’t worth throwing price. The lemon mojo chicken had really intense flavor and was a bit too acidic. Their plantains were good too. Service was quick and friendly.
As I was ordering from within an airport, I was really expecting the worst, but the food was actually solid. I only ordered the coconut shrimp, but it tasted quite good actually, no complaints. Price wasn't crazy either. It did take forever to make however. I ordered takeout and it definitely took over at least 20 minutes for just a measly shrimp appetizer. Regardless this place is worth ordering from if you're looking for food at the Fort Lauderdale Airport.
Came here with my girlfriend during a layover. Reasonably priced (for an airport) and service was good. Got the island jerk chicken pizza which comes off a rotisserie at the restaurant. Pizza was a bit dry, chicken had good flavor, however the mango hot sauce was great. Also got plantains and they were delicious!
I Would like to start this Google Review by saying that no matter what airport you are traveling through food...... will always be expensive! This is a nice mix of Bahamian and Jamaican food, they have a good selection from Sliders, to Jerk Chicken Sandwich, Conch Fritters, etc. If you are on a rush they have a small selection of Pre-Made food including salads, Wraps, etc. Beer, cocktails and other alcoholic drinks have no price on the menu... ask before you order. Fantastic Hawaiian themed food. Totally loved the food here. Been here twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch and wasn't disappointed. There Guava glazed ribs are incredible. Don't know what sauce they use it for but I need more of that in my life. Cocktails and desserts are also fantastic. I tried the Bahama mama and the banana pudding and both are delicious. Servers are nice and polite and service is decent too. Also included as a part of the priority pass membership if you are a member. Must go if stopping over at the Fort Lauderdale airport.
I think the food here is not super impressive and given that it is located in an airport it is not going to be cheap to eat here. However, it is a pretty good deal if you have priority pass as you are not actually paying for the food. I thought the chicken wings and stew were not that good, the coconut shrimp and shrimp curry are probably the best dishes on the menu. Burgers was just kinda ok.
TYRON SAVED MY DAY!!! Was about to fly out and stopped here to eat prior. Initially, when I arrived, I felt honestly ignored. I was standing there, and staff just kept walking by not acknowledging me despite the "please wait to be seated sign." Finally, a manager that was coming in asked me if I wanted to dine in and offered me a space at the bar. When I sat at the bar, there were 2 bartenders, but they both seemed too busy to even assist. Finally, the male bartender came over and explained he was about to get off as it was time for a shift change, but he'd go ahead and put my order in. He put my food in and legit left but assured me I'd be taken care of, and thankfully, he was relieved by Tyron, who seems to know what he's doing and enjoys what he is doing. The food was quite tasty and he made the best drinks. He also had very good communication skills. He really turned my experience around, and I appreciated it very much. I mentioned his excellent service in a survey but wanted to take it a step further by writing a review.
If you have priority pass from venture x or Amex, you're out of luck. For the rest of us, the experience was decent enough. the food was not bad though overly salty. the wait was not short but we were still in and out in about 90 mins roughly. Our server Kenner was quiet but got our orders and food finished without issue. After the meal, he came by and told me that gratuity wss not included (which is also spelled out in the pp terms) so I paid that separately.,
Little restaurant near our gate. Ricardo was amazing great customer service. This place is actually affordable for airport food. Shrimp curry $13 and wings (8 big ones) around $12. Good and affordable can't beat it
Kafe Kalik at Fort Lauderdale Airport was disappointing, mainly due to the poor service. Staff seemed inattentive and not very welcoming, which takes away from the experience, especially in a busy travel environment. The food and drinks are average at best, and prices are on the higher side, as expected at an airport, but the lack of good service really makes it hard to justify stopping here. With so many other options available in the terminal, this is not a place I would choose again.
This Kafe is located directly across from gate G6 in Terminal 4. It supports priority pass (Note: excludes Amex and Capital One priority pass). The food, menu variety, and atmosphere are just average. We ordered fries, which were crispy but nothing special. The menu has just a handful of options mainly Carribean Faire. Prices are reasonable for airport food. The service was good. Friendly and responsive; however, the tables were not well cleaned and the floor had a lot of food scraps, a sign it is not swept often. There is also a To Go section to grab a quick pre-made bite consisting of mainly packaged deli sandwiches and soft drinks and water. Overall, since this is the only priority pass option, it's worth visiting to use the credit, but not much reason to go out of your way.
Kafe Kalik is your FTL airport Jamaican spot to not overpay for food when traveling. It's a great option if you were visiting Miami or the FTL area and didn't have the opportunity to try Caribbean food. I ordered the Kettle Fried Coconut Shrimps and they were crispy with plenty of coconut flavor. Then I had the Shrimp Spiced Curry Bowl, the curry was well balanced, and it wasn't that spicy. I was a little disappointed that the dish was flooded with the sauce and didn't come with plenty of bell peppers and onions (I was hoping more of these). It did have plenty of Jasmin of rice, of which I'm not a huge fan and it wasn't cooked that very well either. Not pictured here, are the sweet potatoes fries that were fried to perfection and salty enough. The ambient was very busy and I had to wait for a couple of minutes to be seated. If I would have been with someone else, I probably would have had to wait a little longer. Michelle my waiter spoiled me with every request, like giving me some samples of their house Guava BBQ jerk sauce that I used to dip my sweet potatoes fries in, you must try it as it is the house specialty.
Back in September 2021 I gave this place a 5 star review and gleefully declared "not sure why there's a lot of negative reviews, maybe people are coming in with not enough time on their connecting flight". Now, I must eat my own words. Coming off of a 9:00am arrival and same day departing flight, I decided to use my Priority Pass to get some food a little early. The waitress at the counter was among the rudest I have ever encountered. Still, the place stays packed. Menu is petit and they are fully aware they operate a Priority Pass restaurant in pricing and commodities. However the food is sufficient for the venue and the portion size. As flights bump up to full capacity, I've noticed that this restaurant's size has, too. It's even bringing in burgers (or some sort of food) from the Burger King next door. Seriously, if you're in line look out for it because it looked like a lot of patties. I watched a woman in her 60s, with basic English, die on the inside, from having to wait 20 minutes for food. One of the wait staff was so cold hearted and confronted her for standing in the aisle, asking for help from an expeditor that didn't appear to exist at this location. It was at this point one of the managers asked her "Why are you standing here? You can't stand here, sit down." It looked like an awful ordeal. The waitress who actually served me was a much kinder, young woman. The jerk chicken sandwich was good, except a little undercooked on the rear side of the sandwich. Orange juice was bottled Tropicana. Finally finished down with some Sonic-style crushed ice. Island juices are currently unavailable, but if you are here check back to see if they are. When I went in September, the 1/2 jerk chicken was great too, with delicious sauce and baked fries. The restaurant could use an expeditor, particularly because it is an airport restaurant. At the same time some more care to ensure food isn't cold. To the excellent wait staff with the glasses (you know who you are!) I hope you keep up the good work, and I hope more of the staff are as nice as you were to me as a customer. I hope the staff could be trained to be a little kinder or explain more kindly why the food takes time. **Note Amex Priority Pass cards don't work at ANY restaurant. They haven't since 2019.***
I didn’t give five stars for the service and the Atmosphere because of Dina.. She was very rude and Impatient. She’s not welcoming.
It’s not bad but it’s far from good. It’s airport food but wish I would’ve just eaten at Pei Wei. It would’ve been something familiar and I could have finished my meal without a bunch of bones to eat. I did get the curry chicken and it was dry sadly. The rice was fine and the plantains were really good. Service was good but there was a little bit of a wait to get in.
I really didn’t need anything but they say a smile is the most important sound in any language it’s actually dale Carnegies fifth and sixth principal, but I learned to say that it’s the name that is the most important sound in any language but I love it saying about the smile. I couldn’t help but notice the bartender didn’t even smile the whole time I was here probably about over an hour and 10 minutes. I got here just before around 0900 day before Thanksgiving plane Trains and Automobiles. Mr, how your day was going she still didn’t smile she just nodded her head. OK I guess you’re serving the public. I wish you luck. There was a town in Ray north dakota there was a bar there Sirius in the oil boom I made $240 and four hours. I smiled a lot and ran the whole time. Life is short.
No West Indian anywhere would agree that that spicy yellow stew is curry. Understanding this is fast food, you could marinate the chicken in curry and pre cook it so the meat has some kind of curry flavor and not rôtisserie. The curry tasted like a distant cousin to curry. You want to charge a ridiculously high price? Give customers quality food.
Honestly wished I checked the reviews before ordering. The Soursop drink comes in a bottle, if I’d known that I would’ve gotten a fountain soda. The Kettle Fried Coconut Shrimp was tasteless, they should consider serving the 5 shrimps on a saucer plate. Or better yet serve the sauce without the shrimp since the sauce had the most flavor. The Spiced Curry Shrimp Bowl was a 6/10 because there were some hard rice pieces and the bowl was more spicy than authentic flavor. After my experience and looking at the reviews, your best bet would be fried chicken and french fries. There should be a sign that says to check the online reviews before ordering to avoid low ratings. Lastly, gratuity is included in your bill! (This might be a reason for the poor customer service that some people experienced in their reviews). Luckily my server was Ricardo, he was friendly and punctual. Yet, I will be avoiding this place in the future.
Tip to the owner: you know, you don’t actually have to print the photos of cocktails if your cocktails look nothing like what’s in the picture. I’d still buy it, but I wouldn’t get hyped up, only in the end to get the Temu version. The host (who is also one of the servers) kept getting visibly irritated that we kept asking her for things, and she’d call up our server every time. The only reason is our server never checked in on us at his own volition. The layout of the place doesn’t make calling up the server easier, as there’s a giant wall in the middle of the place. This place also has the gull to include 18% service charge and ask for more.
Server messed up the order. Took way too long to get the order right. I ordered a side of vegies and they were baaad. Caesar salad and shrimp (not chicken) were also tasteless. Overpriced food and they had the audacity to include a gratuity of 18% 😳 Lesson learned: Do check Google reviews before picking a place to eat.
Food is wayyy below average. Server was trying but didn’t offer or bring water. Sold me on a Caesar salad when I was not hungry, while my whole family was ordering food and I regretted in the moment it came. Coconut shrimp was covered in so much coconut there was hardly any shrimp.
Even though we made it clear that we didn’t want to spend money because we had 2x priority pass = 56$ included, the waitress surprised us with a bill with 10$ extra gratuity. When we said we didn’t want this (it’s written on the bill that it is voluntary), she said „that’s MY money“. But we made it clear that we are not going to pay for it, and she shouted „okay! You can go! Don’t pay“ and stormed off. That’s not the behavior I would expect and I think it’s a huge issue in the U.S., especially for foreigners, that waiters act this entitled. The food was decent, would eat it again but not with that attitude.
If you go for a beer it’s ok, but for eating, Burger King it’s Michelin star if you compare to this restaurant. Don’t eat here $45 one draft beer and a terrible burger
My wife never got the food she ordered. We had an unexpected guest on the table (picture attached). They totally forgot about our drinks. They tried to do it good but they couldn't. I used the priority pass card to get the benefits of 56$ off on the dinner. But we didn't expect the full amount the dinner should be totally cover. They put and extra half chicken on the check. When I asked him to remove it. He said... "It will be cover with your card, you don't have to pay for it". I refused it. They spend more time trying to take off the half chicken from the check. When he came back said: " you have to pay nothing. It's totally free , We even didn't use your priority card because of the roach problem". I went to the cashier area and I asked him for the priority pass paper that I already signed for that moment. He said "the paper is gone". In that moment I was watching the paper right on the cashier counter. I requested one more time for the paper saying " it's over there ". He gave me the signed paper. Why they tried to keep the paper with them? Well, well, well. It was free. But it was not a happily ever after. Hey... But the burguer and the fries were good.
Worst Experience ever. Was totally embarrassed my this Man who came with nothing available In the menu and instead of apologizing he wanted to run us out the table. His manager had to come and explain that we are doing nothing wrong. His manager Robert came twice to apologize. Left with a positive note due to Roberts kindness.
The jerk chicken was so dry I couldn't eat the outer parts. French fries were good. Waitress was very nice and polite. Would never go back and spend $21.00 on a barely edible meal.
Make sure you have plenty of time before you sit down. EXTREMELY SLOW ! We sat down and didn’t even get helped for like 10-15 minutes. The breakfast menu is small, with about six things to choose from. I got the sausage breakfast burrito, although there was barely any sausage (mostly egg). I mean it’s a cafe in the airport so I wasn’t expecting five star dining experience... but I would definitely recommend just getting the Burger King next door
Good food, horrible service. The food especially takes forever to come out so do not come I'd you are in a hurry. Claudia is the worse customer service person! I come here often while waiting for my flights and the last two times got stuck with a server named Claudia. She is very unfriendly and abrupt. She also always asks for a tip before you've even had a chance to sign your bill by saying this: "Here's your bill, that does not include gratuity." She will also not give you a chance to order the things you want to order. As soon as you open your mouth with one item, she's already nodding and walking away before you've had the chance to complete your order.
Priority pass holders: run away from this place. Waiters are not interested to serve you. Even when the place was almost empty we did not get what we ordered. Waiter did not even bother bringing water after asking multiple times. He had the time to browse his phone though. Food was average service was poor. Also, the bill said 18% gratuity included but waiter kept telling us the bill does NoT include gratuity. If you have other options go for it.
The food is barely pass edible. There are many lies in the menu. The jerk chicken for the salad is just fried chicken. The conch chowder is a clear liquid soup. The half chicken in the bag is just a thigh and a leg ( a quarter ). They automatically added 18% tip and the service is bad. I refused to pay the tip and the server said it is already in the bill, I have to pay. I said no and paid with cash, + 5% tip.
I don't understand bartenders who work in the hospitality field that have a nasty attitude, not greeting and short with customers. Not to mention $18 for a single bourbon is robbery when automatically adding gratuity. Katherine was the only ray of sunshine I saw!
It was a bad experience, the food is bad ! At least what I requested. I asked for the “Dr Bahamian Burger “ It is not a good sign at all when your waitress tells you that they “can’t cook your burger at medium term… it an be only well done”. Yeah, it was well done but it was really bad, it had a weird flavor like beef fat. I had two small bites and that was it I couldn’t eat it. I also asked for sweet potato fries as a side dish with the burger and the fries were so over cooked, dark, dry and not good looking at all. I did not eat the fries either. I do not recommend this place at all !!!
They don't accept priority pass through Chase, Capital One, or Amex. Doesn't say that anywhere on the priority pass website either. They also auto include an 18% gratuity regardless of party size. Really shady place with below average food
UPDATE:Changed the rating to 1. Gave me and my family food poisoning. Skip this place. Mediocre all around. The server wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t eat here again. I would honestly eat a something from a Starbucks or something. We had wings, they weren’t terrible. Caesar salad was underwhelming. I don’t visit fast food too often but I would eat at burger king before going here again.
What a terrible experience. I ordered a medium size Sprite cup and a Bahama Burger and the bill came up to be $21.00. The patties were just like the cheapest frozen kind you’d find at the bottom of the freezer in the market. There was no mayo so the whole thing was super dry. The fries tasted old and they looked like they had been refried. I felt like I paid $21 to have an even worse meal than at Macdonald’s!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Just had an unbelievable horrible experience when trying to eat there using my priority pass. The crew attending the bar are incompetent, irrespective, and want to do the minimum or nothing at all. I think their bad service is because they cannot add the 18% tip automatically with the priority pass. Sad to say but I’m not going back again.
They have no alcohol menu so they charge according to their wishes. I have a priority pass. They don’t allow to-go on priority pass (which is bizarre). I ordered the shrimp curry (good) with a margarita. They charged $20 for margarita! It’s most expensive margarita I have ever had in my life. I don’t understand the cost split. Kind of robbed me bcoz I m on priority pass I guess !! Pros: - Food was good ! - Host was friendly !
Charged $76 for a $19.99 burger and $8.99 salad with 1 non-alcohol and 1 alcoholic drink (1 mule). Can't reach restaurant management at their number. Submitted a complaint. About ti escalate to the BBB. Very disappointed.
zero stars the worst experience everrr waited like 10 minutes to be barely greeted by this old blonde lady with glasses and a balding ponytail and was literally pointed to a table to go sit at, waited an additional 15 minutes ! for menus! so no menus, i stand up step to the very end of the bar as the bar was full and to wait for the waitress host whatever miss balding ponytail is as i just seen her clean some menus and i ask for one and she looks at me like im crazy, if anything i was making her job easier for her slow self so i repeat myself and she gives a sassy okay and is speaking to the bartender right in front of me about what i asked for, i go sit down expecting my menus to come when the blonde old curly big headed bartender inserts herself and tells me you dont order food at the bar. no one was trying to order food at the bar??? i was trying to get menus?! i get the menus from her just to leave them at my table and leave they don’t deserve my business+tip not even my presence , meanwhile they had two other tables w the same problem & a dirty table. BIG YIKES wonder when they were given service and prolly faster after i brought it to attention. have the day yall deserve ladies, a horrible one. management sucks clearly
I sat in the bar, the bartender was rude, not only with me but customers around. Blond old lady an grunpy with glasses, always throwing stuff around. Serving in a bad manner. I asked for a Bahamian burger but honestly I could have gotten a better burger in burger King, right next to them. No wonder why AMEX took away the pass there.
The atmosphere is great but we waited 7 before being seated but we were looking for the to go area which isn’t properly visible but that’s a design issue. Three servers looked at us and then decided to rock, paper, scissors who’s turn is it to “take them” And then the server from the to go area had a nasty attitude, but I don’t have the energy and don’t want spit in my food but might as well had The shrimp is over saturated with coconut almost losing its flavor and the sauce for it is just melted orange peals, the fries were not salted. If you need a quick meal, of course but if not don’t bother going.
We just experienced the worst customer service ever. We came here as part of the priority pass program and did not think that we deserved the awful services. At first, we wanted to use the both of our priority pass cards for the services, but the lady in the front was very rude to us and started giving us hassle and said “why did you not use one card? You can use one card and bring one guest”. She looked very annoyed and I think she tried to charge us more if we only use one card. Second, the lady told us to walk down to the priority pass guest area. While we started walking at that direction, another waitress rudely yelled at my husband “Hey, you there! Stop! Don’t walk that way, walk in the other direction instead!” They are very rudely treated the customer and gave the wrong directions with unnecessary comments and ineffective system. Third, at the end they tried to charge us 18% gratuity fee as a priority pass member even though it is said not mandatory at the end of the bill. When we were asking about the fee, the waiter started getting angry at us and he started saying things rudely as he walked away “It’s just $8 for the tip, $8 just pay the money…” Absolutely horrible experience and feel like we were being harassed the whole time with the service. Could not believe priority pass still partner with this restaurant.
I had the half “jerk” chicken dish here and thought the restaurant was nice and convenient. There was not much of a wait as they were not busy. I had my food and left for 20 minutes and came back to do some work and get a drink. This is where things went south. The dark haired Hispanic woman behind the bar yelled at me asking if I was going to getting something and told me I couldn’t sit unless I was buying something despite me literally just having lunch at their bar and still having half of my lunch in THEIR packing and a drink in hand. I was going to get a drink but decided to leave as the atmosphere that started off airy had suddenly become quite hostile. I regret spending here and will never.
Poor quality food and very overpriced. $11 for 5 little coconut shrimp? The half jerk chicken was smaller than I expected and was below average- fries were just Ok. Spent over $40 for 1 person with no drink- not worth the price! Service was slow and unfriendly. No reason to ever come back here.
EDIT: I came back in the morning since I had a long layover and man…. It is really bad. It’s not just the wait, some of the servers are just really rude. They’re all fighting with each other, telling different things. Some are nice but overall it’s just a nightmare. Only come here if you have plenty of time and have VERY low expectations For priority pass members: tldr if you have time, get the wings and the curry (avoid burger, looks gross) and expect long wait. Yes, the wait sucks. Every review you’ll read about poor service or long wait times is pretty accurate. My server was nice, but I waited at least 10 minutes after being seated for someone to talk to me, and it wasn’t that busy. Also waited at the entrance to be seated and servers walked by me, made eye contact, and did nothing. Not a super engaged staff. But the food is not bad. The sweet/spicy wings were actually pretty good and the chicken or shrimp curry was average. I’ll take a long wait and free food any day before spending my own $$ on overpriced airport food. All airport food sucks anyway unless it’s some big chain, and in that case it’s probably a long wait and overpriced anyway.
Terrible experience all around. The staff at the bar clearly have no interest in working here, and the food is inedible — I honestly don’t know how it passed any kind of health or safety inspection. To make matters worse, they automatically add gratuity without informing you, and tack on an extra 3% credit card fee. This feels like a scam. Avoid this place at all costs.
The service was extremely poor — the server, a middle-aged man with a crew cut, was rude and dismissive. The portion sizes were very small, and when I politely requested the bill multiple times, he ignored me repeatedly and eventually raised his voice in an unprofessional manner.
I figured since I'm in FLL for a few hours, why not have some Caribbean food. I mean we're in South Florida so it surely must be decent, the Caribbean is right there! Well between the abysmal lack of front of house, inattentive servers, and worst of all the mediocre shrimp curry bowl I can confidently say this is the worst Caribbean food I've ever had. I should've just went to Burger King.
I had breakfast at this place and was served by Aimee. Unfortunately, the service was terrible — I’ve never had such a bad experience at a restaurant. She was rude and dismissive, which made the visit really uncomfortable. The food wasn’t bad, but her attitude completely ruined the experience.
On December 30, 2024, at 9:33 AM, I was served by Aimee (#60669) under check #436942. The service was extremely poor. My bill (after applying a Priority Pass Credit) was $18.38, and I chose to remove the 18% gratuity ($10.84) due to the bad experience, authorizing only $7.53. However, Aimee processed the full amount without my consent. This is unacceptable. I request an immediate refund of $10.84. If no action is taken, I will file complaints with the FTC, Priority Pass, and dispute the charge with my bank.
Just go to burger kind next door! I have had food poisoning for the last 5 days. It was the only thing I ate the wings were good but I have lost 8lbs dealing with this
This place is such a rip off. First supposed to be part of priority pass, not any more! Doesn't say anywhere! 2. There is an automatic 18% grats included, and on top of that there is a credit card fee included if you pay with credit card! Shameful so now I have to pay extra on top of extra on top of extra! Horrific and the food is cold wait for it is terrible the cooks screaming in the back who knows what! This place is the worst go anywhere else better than here!
Kafe Kalik, my food was very good, I had the Caribbean Jerk half chicken(a little dry). Service was terrible for several reasons. One person in our party had the 1/2lb Bahamian burger($20). It was overcooked and came with American cheese. When questioned about the aged cheddar that was advertised, our server, Jeniele said the menu doesn't say aged cheddar and we don’t even carry that cheese. We pulled up the menu and showed it to another server and the chef, they just responded that they were out and only had Swiss and American. Why lie? Also asked our server for bbq sauce, she said they didn't have it. When we again questioned the other staff, they produced bbq sauce. Our server never came back once after dropping off our food, no refills, no pre-busing and did not offer to adjust the meal since it was not what was ordered. We had to order another burger from another server and the chef whom were very accommodating and professional. We even had to request out ticket from another server. Good chicken, bad burger, horrible service. Also, to add insult, they added gratuity to the bill with notification. Very unfortunate.
Granted, I didn’t think the service was absolutely horrible. Everyone was very friendly! Other servers interacted with me and they were really cool. The drinks were outrageously priced, they hid the price from the menu (very smart tactic). But the food gave us food poisoning. We ordered the bbq wings, chicken curry and shrimp curry. I think the wings were fine, but the curry may have been undercooked (definitely underseasoned). It’s honestly a shame to call this place a Caribbean restaurant, Google has this as a Jamaican spot hahaha… yeaaaaa no. Looking back at this pic, I could definitely see how we had gotten the stomach bug. The entire bill was $88 for two people (which included an 18% gratuity which was not option). That itself was the price of a meal. Insane.
Terrible service, you know when you find those places where people just don’t want to help or be nice, this is it. They are lucky this airport has no choices otherwise this thing would be closed already. Coffee tastes like dirt water. The scrambled eggs are tasteless, a mash of yellow stuff that I’m sure are not eggs. Stay away from this place.
How is this even part of priority pass if they don’t even take Amex or chase cards. Also the he servers who are in charge of greeting upon arrival have the worst sight someone can have. Zero hospitality. Get your business somewhere else.
Don’t waste your time here. Dry $18 chicken that took more than 45 minutes, came with a side cup of “jerk sauce” that obviously tastes like the one from Walmart. 3 people who came after me got served before me and if I wanted my food faster I had to choose steamed rice or fries as a side instead of rice and peas. Changed it to steamed rice and food still took 30 more minutes to come out. I could’ve went back there myself and made something better. Waiter didn’t apologize for the wait or even offered to refill my water, they don’t care because there’s an automatic gratuity charge anyways so no incentive to give good service. The only thing the waiter asked was for my friend to take her feet off the seat but we were falling asleep waiting for the food after the long flight.
I ordered breakfast to go today and had a very disappointing experience, mainly due to the service. The person taking my order was extremely rude when I asked simple questions about the menu and responded with an unpleasant tone. What made the situation more uncomfortable was that immediately after me, a white customer was treated very politely and warmly, which made me feel singled out and disrespected. Customer service should be consistent and respectful to everyone, regardless of background. Unfortunately, that was not the case during my visit. On top of that, the food quality was below average and did not meet expectations. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving staff behavior and overall service, as no customer should feel uncomfortable or unwelcome.
Fui a comer a otro sitio!
