Keese's Fort Lauderdale Reviews
Here is my honest review. Food is great. Prices and atmosphere are very good. Whenever you’re craving greek food. Please make it to Uptown Keese’s. They also have a great happy hour and drinks promotions.
I love coming here for a nice lunch. Everyone is friendly and laid-back. The food is awesome; not salty at all hate when chefs decided how you should like your food. Free parking in the back of the building, just walk through the back door. Great Mediterranean atmosphere and cuisine. I highly recommend this place!
2/15/26-5pm- I would give 10 Stars if I could! I am of Greek descent from a strong Greek family! I can say the food is authentic and beyond delicious! First the Greek Hospitality is outstanding! The service is welcoming, friendly and informative! The ambiance is reminiscent of the Greek Islands .. inside and outside seating is comfortable with the sounds of Greece! I ordered my favorite Greek wine Retsina .. They brought out hummus with pita which was creamy and delicious! A definite winner! I ordered the Spinach Pie and sautéed mushrooms. The spinach pie is a large portion enough for a table of 2 or 4 to share as an appetizer! The perfect amount of spinach and feta and phyllo. Justas good as my family would make it! Yes, it’s authentic! Definitely a winner and delicious! I ordered the galautobuiko to go and the graciously added 2 kourambiedes (butter cookies with powdered sugar) As soon as I got home I ate the galactobuico and tried one of the cookies! Wow! The custard was perfect! And the cookie, (which is my specialty to make since I was 6 years old) rivaled my cookies! Outstanding service, delicious authentic Greek food and magical Greek Ambiance! Opa!!! I cant wait to make my way through their extensive menu! Something for everyone! I highly recommend! You will thank me!
Nestled in the charming beach town of Lauderdale by the Sea, this Greek-style restaurant captures the essence of Mediterranean vibes, even if it's a tad off the beach! Every dish we sampled was a delightful experience. I opted for the pasta dish, swapping out broccoli for spinach, and let me tell you—it was absolutely delicious! My partner went for the whole fish, and his first bite said it all: “We’re definitely coming back!” On top of the delectable food, the service was exceptional—attentive and welcoming! Highly recommend!
So me and my girlfriend were trying to decide where to eat in Fort lauderdale after the july 4th fireworks on the beach and we decided to try this place. Walking in, they weren't busy when it was that late. We both ordered gyros. We were treated to very good service that was friendly and efficient. They started us with fresh hummus and pita it was very tasty. My girlfriend ordered lemonade and they fresh squeezed it, it was very good. Our gyros came, and I swear they were hands down the best gyros I have ever had. They didn't just taste fresh they were also authentic and delicious. The fries were hot and seasoned. The whole restaurant is amazing and needs to be tried. I will definitely be back.
This place is absolutely the real deal!! Food is out of sight !! I have tried other Greek/middle eastern places and nothing comes close!! I promise you will not be disappointed! Denise the owner is such a hard working perfectionist and it shows in this restaurant!
We went last night and it was delicious! We had the most amazing platter of hummus and pita. We added on feta cheese and olives, which made it even better! My daughter and I had the Gyro, and my sister had Spanikopita. Everything was very good and the owner is very nice! We will be back in Lauderdale by the Sea in December, and we will definitely come back here!!
I’ve been getting Too Good To Go boxes, and honestly any meal I can, from Up Town Keese’s for almost a year now, and it’s become one of my absolute favorites. The food just keeps getting better every time. It’s always fresh, delicious, and super affordable, whether it’s a surprise box or something made to order. What really makes this place special is how authentic the food is. It’s real, homemade Greek comfort food, and you can taste the love and tradition in every bite. Denise, the owner, is incredible. She’s warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what she does. You can feel the heart she puts into every meal. Up Town Keese’s is a true hidden gem, and I’m so glad I found it.

So we went back 2 days later and they actually listened to our recommendations and improved everything we told them. Potatoes were like moms this time nice and juicy with lemon and the horta more olive oil to give it that authentic taste. Well done you deserved your 5 stars. Now we have to work on making the greek coffee!!! We finally got to try this place which we had been eyeing since they opened it last year. Being Greek I am tough critic as nothing beats my moms food. But I have to admit this place will get my business regularly. The fish was just fantastic and the orizo w/shrimp really impressed me as I never eat orizo. The salade had feta like in greece enough for all of us. But a tad salty. The horta was good and lacked a little olive oil, the stuffed vine leaves also very good for me. The only dish was the potatoes were off. To dry and we let them know. Service was excellent. And the wine. I am sure as time goes they will get 5 stars from me as their greek cook knows he stuff.
I have been going to Keese’s for 10 years now, the old location, and now the new bright Uptown Keese’s restaurant. The food has never disappointed, and it has been constantly delicious. All the sauces are home-made – nothing comes from a jar. The restaurant offers a variety of Mediterranean, Eastern-European, and some Middle Eastern dishes. I also love their beer and wine list. The owner, Denitza, is a hard worker, and she takes pride in her food.
We’ve been to Keese’s three times in the last four days! The food is excellent! Freshly made hummus is like none other! We had the eggplant trio and each spread was unique and delicious. The mousaka and Greek salad was freshly prepared and full of flavor. The chef/owner and our server were friendly and recommended wine and dishes that we all enjoyed! Keese’s is a wonderful addition to our local restaurants and we can’t wait to go back for more!
If you’re looking for an authentic Greek dining experience in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Uptown Keese’s is a must-visit. The cozy atmosphere, adorned with decor that transports you to the charming streets of Mykonos, sets the perfect tone for a delightful meal. The menu offers a great selection of dishes, including some rare finds that you don’t come across often. The service is top-notch, making you feel right at home. And if you’re a fan of Greek coffee, you’ll be pleased with what they serve. For those seeking something different, this gem is definitely worth a try.
The only food that makes me feel at home! The owner is an amazing lady and super hard working with a lot of love for her job. The employees are also fantastic wonderful servers and caretakers. The food tastes so savory and delicious love the variation and things you can choose off the menu. I totally recommend if you are looking for some fine dine and a little wine 🥂
We are in town for a week and decided to order takeaway from Uptown Reese’s. After picking up the food and returning home, we realized one meal was missing. I called and explained the issue and right away they said they would make the order and hand deliver it, which they did with a bottle of wine as an apology. The food was very good (especially the spanakopita!) but what really impressed me was that level of customer service. Thank you!
Great people, Great food. This is a hidden gem. A must try.
I never write reviews but I have to say this place is absolutely amazing. Greek is usually not my first choice amongst Mediterranean cuisine, but let me tell you this place is fantastic. The falafel is crisp and delicious. The gyro is perfectly cooked every time and never oily! The chicken platter is always moist and juicy. And the FATTOUSH SALAD is a banger! All sauces and spreads compliment the food well. Best Greek joint in Fort Lauderdale!
Fantastic lunch service with amazing food, highly recommend for anyone in the area
Friday evening, had choice of inferior or exterior dining, chose exterior. Staff were very attentive to our needs / requests. Very good wine list. Food was excellent, probably best mousaka I have had in a long time. Well worth the visit and I would recommend to all.
The food was amazing, offering a delightful blend of authentic Greek flavors that left your taste buds dancing. The service was top-notch, attentive, and friendly, enhancing your overall dining pleasure. The ambiance complemented the culinary journey, making it a memorable visit.
What’s not to love we were visiting from New York and very familiar with The Mediterranean Greek Cuisine. This by far was the best place we ate at in Fort Lauderdale then entire time we spent there. Everything was amazing if you’re looking for high-quality Greek cuisine and atmosphere this is a place for you. The service was amazing authentic Greek waiters and waitresses service was five out of five. Highly recommend to anyone Who loves to eat Greek food or has never tried it before you have to eat there. It’s totally worth it and the price is reasonable. We definitely will be back.
We were warmly greeted at the door as if we were close family members and before we even placed our orders, aps were on our table! Service, food quality and the beautiful ambiance provided a wonderful evening. We were regulars at “Downtown” Keese’s and now look forward to future visits to Uptown Keese’s!. M&E
The best lamb chops I’ve ever had! No question. Denitsa (owner) is so friendly and does the cooking herself. Be prepared to wait for your food but that’s because she takes her time making it taste so good. Amazing cucumber and tomato salad, great saganaki, will definitely return in the future. Cute little restaurant with great seating outside. Delicious!
Denise does a fabulous job. The food is amazing!!
Food is delicious and stuff are very nice !
We do take out from here every time we are in the area. Nothing has ever disappointed. The hummus, Mushrooms, I think we have tried almost 50% of the menu in the last 3 years. If you like Greek food you will not be disappointed. The only downside is the delivery charge now. Kinda steep, so we just pickup now.
The food here is tasty and FRESH. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is so chill (and romantic if you wanna go on date)
This. Is aGreat hidden gem Yes it does say Greek but you can find things on the menu even if you don’t like Greek food But what’s not to like The chicken wings sandwiches the salads are incredible I found this place about a month ago and I’ve been there four times salads are off the chain grilled octopus appetizer smelt simply fried I don’t want this to sound like an advertisement but once this place catches on I’ll be in trouble because I won’t be able to get in make sure you save room for the wonderful desserts
Always a pleasure, THE best Greek food in Fort Lauderdale, Great kebobs, Leg of lamb is to die for great freshest Greek salad ever I could eat it everyday Greek beers and wine selection services is great
Keeses is authentic and absolutely charming! Everyone is friendly, helpful and goes out of their way to make you feel like you matter! Food is delicious!!
I really like this spot. The service is really great, I feel very taken care of, and the food is super tasty. Highly recommend, a real locals spot
I have been enjoying Denise and her amazing culinary skills for over 20 years.Always authentic and fresh. Love the location Please try it you won't be sorry
You’ve gotta try this Greek spot—seriously. The Bronzino was super tender and flavorful, and the grilled octopus was perfect—crispy edges, really tender. The Moussaka hit the spot, and the desserts were legit. They’ve also got some solid Greek beers that go great with everything. I’m definitely going back—those sandwich specials for lunch look awesome for a quick bite during work hours. Total hidden gem.
Place is beautiful. Staff is so friendly and nice. Food was awesome. Can’t wait to come back.
I absolutely love the owner! Her food is so delicious and I’ve been coming here for years, before Keese’s relocated from A1A. Must eat here! 🤤😋
Why do I feel like the last one on the planet to discover how amazing the flavors of Greek food taste. This is my second time eating at this restaurant thanks to a discount app they participate in. If not for this app, I would've never discovered this amazing restaurant. Rarely have I patronized a restaurant after receiving a discount, AND 1000% knew that I would come back with a discount or not. The beautiful waitress treated those of us with discounts the same as she treated her full paying customers. My meal was delicious. Kudos to the chef. I will definitely be back even when the discounts come to an end. And I recommend that others try it too!
Delicious, authentic, cooked to Greek food. All servers were gracious and prompt. We had the Gyro Plate and Grandma’s Favorite, and enough to take home for tomorrow. Will definitely be back.
My wife and I enjoy Greek and Mediterranean food and we seek out such restaurants wherever we travel. We found this restaurant by luck in Lauderdale by the sea. We had a very friendly server and the food was authentic and delicious. We would happily return here when we come back to the area.
This food is amazing. And I travel for a living so I Am picky. Fresh, great flavor, clean . One of the best kept secrets of lauderdale by the sea♥️. Quaint spot quiet, and the owner preparing your dinner nightly thats exceptional. Her food could compete with anything in Beverly Hills its for sure 5 ⭐️ quality👍♥️
Everything is absolutely delicious every time we eat there and we do pretty often.
This is the ONLY GREEK restaurant in town for us! Yeah, yeah, yeah... we all can guess which Greek eatery people attest as the best. But respectfully, while that place is capable at filtering you in and out, KEESE'S is the true Greek cuisine dining experience. Yes, DINING! Keese's may take time at times; but it's time not spent standing in a long queue. You're seated at a table, enjoying hummus and pita while you await a delicious meal, expertly crafted by chef Denise! The staff keeps moving and could not be more welcoming. I have lost count at how often we and our friends have dined here. We tell EVERYONE that this is the Greek to get thee to!
We had an absolutely outstanding meal here. Our server was bright, personable and extremely accommodation. The food was expertly prepaired and delicious. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Such a cute place! The food is great and the service was amazing.
Amazing, authentic Greek cuisine at a reasonable price! The branzino and family meals are spectacular, and never have I ever had octopus so tender.
What an amazing place! We went in there on a busy Saturday and still were treated like family. The friendly atmosphere aside, food was phenomenal! Tender meat, flavorful hummus and most importantly, well made and delicious drinks. This place is a hidden gem and we are so grateful to discover it. It is perfect for a fabulous meal and a great conversation. Highly recommend for an impressive date night.
Absolutely great sweets and they are trying their absolute best. Their Greek food is some of the best I've had, and although it's a bit out of the way, their food is inexpensive and they still do bottomless mimosas and belinis which has been crashing out lately.

Last night’s dinner was at Uptown Keese’s Greek Kuzina at 228 Commercial BLVD, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. A first for our party. A cute, clean, and modern little bistro yet with a great feel of Greek atmosphere in a small plaza next to Ace Hardware that packs a heavy punch of Greek cuisine, the kind that has warmly settled in our American comfort food culture. ‘Twas a delightful surprise. Our party included a Greek-born who knows a thing or two about “authentic” Greek food. Let’s say that Uptown Keese’s earned his Greek blue ribbon (and mine too). The service was great. My only gripe was that their tables for four are only 30”X 30”. We were only 3 in our party. We asked to move to a table for 6, and they obliged but after the food and drinks are on the table, it was still crowded. On a scale of 1 to 10, they get a 10 for food, but for table comfort, I give them a 4. They have a full liquor bar with domestic and Greek beers. Metered parking up front and 4 fee parking spaces in the back. They also provide take out and catering.
I celebrated my relative's birthday and absolutely enjoyed my experience. The servers were very pleasant, friendly and accommodating, especially ours. I didn't catch his name but he was Panamanian. He was engaging and helped us decide on our dishes. The kefte was mouth-watering, octopus was the best I've ever had, the hummus was complimentary and delicious, and my gyro pita was perfect. The chef is the owner, cook and I was totally floored at how she whipped up dish after dish with perfection. The best part was the dessert platter she specially prepared for my relativd for her birthday. This is my second time visiting and it did not disappoint in any way!
Keese’s is absolutely the best! We have ordered catering from them before, and the food is always hot, fresh and delivered right on time. Everyone loves the food - the falafel, gyro, pita, tsatsiki, hummus, Greek salad, rice and beans - it’s really authentic and totally delicious. Everyone always comments on how good and fresh the food is. They are our go-to for catering every time.
Keese is an exquisite haven for aficionados of Greek cuisine, seamlessly transporting diners to the heart of Greece with its impeccable selection of wines, authentic imported Greek beer, and, most notably, its exceptional culinary offerings. Stepping into Keese feels like embarking on a culinary journey through Greece itself. The attention to detail in both the food and beverage menu is truly commendable. The selection of wines and the availability of imported Greek beer enhance the dining experience, offering a genuine taste of Greece right at your table. Having visited multiple times, one dish that consistently stands out is the zucchini chips appetizer. Prepared flawlessly, these chips serve as a delicious introduction to the meal, setting the bar high for what follows. And rest assured, the main courses don't disappoint; each dish reflects the same level of culinary excellence as the standout appetizer. The authenticity and flavors in every meal are unparalleled. Whether it's the perfectly grilled chicken, the aromatic and tender lamb dishes, or the vibrant and fresh salads, every bite is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to delivering top-notch Greek cuisine. Beyond the delectable food, the ambiance and service at Keese further elevate the overall experience. The welcoming atmosphere coupled with attentive and knowledgeable staff adds to the feeling of being transported to a charming Greek taverna.
Good food, great service and a friendly server, what else can you ask for? Im definitely coming back. Great choice of wines and food.
This place is great! The food was authentic and of fresh quality. The service was excellent which made our dining experience amazing. We are looking forward to coming back.
This is our second time visiting Uptown Keese's and we can't say enough about this place! If you're looking for an enjoyable experience, this is the place. The food, the service, and the overall ambiance of the place. I'm a vegan so it's important that the restaurant I go to caters to my lifestyle and they don't disappoint. As soon as we walk in, we are greeted with a welcome, a smile, and hummus and pita bread. Love it! The prices depend on what you're ordering but it is affordable. They're very friendly and the owner is very nice. She actually cares and is passionate about the dishes she makes. We will definitely be regulars here!
Authentic great Greek food. Our go to when we want a local place we can count on, especially during "season". I highly recommend it!
This restaurant is AMAZING! Very family oriented, they make you feel like family when you walk in. Every bite, from the octopus and grape leaves, to the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had, was exquisite. I will definitely be coming back for more.
Not fancy, in a row of commercial buildings. Inside it’s like being in a small town on a Greek Island. The mushroom appetizer is delicious. I got the Dorato fish which comes with potato and spinach. I felt like I was back in Greece. A golden nugget of a restaurant in Lauderdale by the Sea!
Our server was amazing! Food was fresh and delicious, and portions were generous. The atmosphere is very cute, a lovely place to sit on the patio and enjoy the nice weather. We'll be back to try the happy hour soon :)
We had a reservation for 10. Everything was exceptional. We ordered 14 dishes and two cheeseburgers. Kids loved the hearty cheeseburgers. All of us were so impressed by our food. The highlights were the spanakopita, the lamb shank with lemon potatoes, Grandma‘s favorite, the falafel, the octopus and the moussaka. They had a good wine selection and we all enjoyed trying a different type. Servers were kind and thoughtful and the music and atmosphere sitting outside was very enjoyable for our extended family get together. We will be back and we highly recommend. We’re surprised this place was not jammed on a Wednesday night. The lamb dishes and spanakopita were life-changing. Staff was very responsive to our needs regarding food allergies.
Hidden gem in Lauderdale By The Sea! Walking distance from my house, which is SO convenient since I’m not a fan of driving! The food is absolutely AMAZING! Every dish I’ve tried has been beyond delicious! The staff is also always very pleasant! If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would!
Our family has enjoyed dining here for years. I've dined all over the country and this is one of my favorite places. The menu has a wide selection of dishes made with healthy and fresh ingredients. Food is made to order. I absolutely love the service I received here.
This restaurant has amazing food. Everything is delicious. The staff is amazing, the are very welcoming and warm. They the their time to explain each dish. Karim, Nancy, Denise(owner) were absolutely amazing. Denise came and took her time to greet us. The desserts were a hit. I definitely recommend coming here. If you enjoy drinking, the bar has a lot of different selections. I am a beer drinker, they have different Greek beers, all which were good. This is definitely a must try place for Greek food.
Everything I had was really tasty! I started with the stuffed grape leaves (dolmata) which were great. My main was the lamb which were so tender and juicy. Baklava for dessert was also splendid. Service and setting were awesome too.

Let’s start with the negative part, there is only one but it was quite bad. We went there on a Wednesday evening around 8PM. They only had 2 workers. One cooking and one doing the service. Needless to say everything was slow and it took 50 minutes to get our food. Now for the positive. The waiter was nice and welcomed us with a tasty plate of pita and humus. The menu has many choices and prices are fairly reasonable. We sat outside, it’s by the road but it was not noisy. We took the Gyro and the Grandma Favorite. Everything was excellent with large portions. If you are not in a rush, it’s an excellent place to go.
Uptown Keese's is a quaint Greek Restaurant 😋 with delivery food and outstanding staff..One Love ❤️

The food was amazing! very authentic and fresh, some of the best we've had. Prices are good. You need new servers. They were not attentive, forgot to bring items when we asked for them, and never came over to check on us... despite only having a few tables. We went in 4 times to remind the servers about missing items and to get the check. We hope more people will come visit your restaurant and you will find new servers, or train the ones you have.
Wow, everything we had from the salad , which they split. To The ambience and service . Outside seating. Bar For about 6-8 seats . First you get like a relish dish but not. It had chick peaS thin slices of red onion , celery plus much more. Plus pita bread warm. It was so very fresh , It was a Party in my Mouth . We then ordered the tzatziki and a eggplant I don’t now and it came with pita bread again so tasty We had dish that was for two. Called Pietalli Krearikon , it had 2 lamb chops, a hugh chicken kebab and a nice steak . Very good will be back . Thank you Denise. Oh they did close the on that’s been there for over 20+ years on Ocean Dr.
My wife and I visited on Sunday evening. The place was empty. Just one table and us. The service was Ok. The drinks were good. The food was good: too tasty for my wife. She got a grilled salmon with a lot of condiments. I got eggplant with ground beef, mushroom and bechamel sauce. I liked it a lot. The prices are reasonable. Recommend.
We got a "too good to go" package We paid $6.99 for $21 worth of food, it was fresh and it was delicious but it definitely wasn't $21 worth unfortunately.
I went there for the first time with some friends last night, I am very familiar with Greek food by having a Mediterranean restaurant for many years, the food was excellent, a good amount of good, reasonable prices! The only thing that I have to say is about the service, it seems that they are short on help, and the only two servers they had at that night weren't very experient , but I am sure it will get better soon! But it was a great dinner for sure!
I have to say the Tamara spread was the best we have had in South Florida. I understand staffing being in the business for many years and everyone was doing the best they could to get through the evening. BUT we ordered several items and did say bring them out when possible but a few were missed. What was most disappointing we received our salad last and it was missing the Greek Olives.. I wish them luck in the new location and hope they get a few good servers.. We will try again maybe on a slower weekday.
Very unfortunate turn of events tonight… we have picked up their “chef boxes” twice and they were wonderful - both times Greek food. Tonight, it was 7pm and we wanted something quick and easy on the way home, so we decided to order their chef boxes again. I picked up and when I brought the food home I realized there must have been a mistake - each box had a cheeseburger hamburger and fries. I immediately called and told them I must have received someone else’s order and felt bad. The young lady put me on hold and then the owner came on the phone and started yelling at me that this was the chef box and that’s an item on the menu and that’s it, nothing she can do. I said no problem, I’ll bring back for a refund and make it easy. She continued to yell at me and said no refund. I would never order nor expect a hamburger at a Greek restaurant so rightfully I was shocked and disappointed. I went to the restaurant and again she yelled at me that the lights aren’t free, she pays her workers, this is wasted food, I should know better, etc - it was a horrific encounter. Every time I tried to say one word, she yelled at me. There was absolutely no talking to this woman and that is so unfortunate. The two young ladies serving are kind and calm… the chef is clearly wonderful… but the owner does not know how to speak to customers. When I picked up the order I told one of the servers that I was so excited to come back for meal at the restaurant! That will not be happening. I don’t think the customer is always right… but I do think there is a right way and wrong way to talk to customers. I’m sure the owner will reply that she offered falafel and rice and she offered to make chicken but it would take 30 minutes… all while yelling at me. If she had been calm and treated me with an ounce of respect, I would have considered one of those options. Unfortunate.
I had a less than enjoyable experience at Uptown Keese over the Christmas holidays. While the appetizer dips were good, the main dishes were not up to par. The main issue was the poor service, which seemed to be lacking in both staff and professionalism. It took an excessively long time for our food to arrive and the servers seemed overwhelmed. Additionally, an automatic 18% gratuity was added to our bill, (we were a party of five ) which I likely would not have left in any case due to the subpar service. To top it off, there was an issue with our credit card being swapped with another patron upon payment. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant unless they are able to improve their staffing and service.
Very rude and very dismissive, hung up the phone and said deal with us in person, when just trying to let them know about my order. A place I wanted to become a regular at since the food is delicious. I get your busy that doesn’t mean you should lack in professionalism.
Very disappointed. Food cold, Mediterranean mix was weird tasting and not good at all. Obviously all the meat was pre cooked. Mousakka was cold on the inside and sad looking Greek salad on the side, and the chef/cook was yelling at people in the kitchen, what an embarrassment. Presentation of the food was terrible. Most of the food must have been pre cooked and sitting around. Out of all the local Greek places this is the worst. We are locals btw.
I placed an online order, it was accepted, card charged - I show up to pick up my orde4 on 02/23 at 3pm (as per my order) and the door is closed. Google shows restaurant open as of 12 pm. I call the restaurant and the owner tells me she's not there and won't be in until 4pm. 🤣 So why are you accepting online orders and collecting money for order that CANNOT be fulfilled? I request a refund to which she said "off course ". It is now a week later and no refund. I drove 30 minutes here to speak with her in person and what do you know? It's 2:25 pm and door is closed. Google shows business open, hours on the menu are also misleading. Owner - I have left you voice-mails etc with my contact information. Do the right thing and do as you said you would.
Short staffed with very slow service. We ordered 3 entrees. About 45 minutes later, 2 entrees arrived. When we asked the waiter for the 3rd entree, he said “sorry, we ran out, do you want something else?” We would have expected them to tell us when we ordered that the lamb shank wasn’t available- then we would have picked another entree. Very bad experience.
We are returning customers. It is common for them to be short staffed but with our last visit, the waiter was kind and attentive! Yesterday my family and I entered to dine here in the early evening (6pm). They had a lamb special, the gentleman outside tending the lamb was kind and greeted us. Upon being sat, our experience changed. The server was a woman with dark long hair. She was busy attending other tables which is understandable but never greeted us or made eye contact. We patiently waited for a while understanding they are short staffed. A solo patron walked in and the woman ran right over to attend him while ignoring my family. One of our guests kindly signaled to the waitress that we were ready to place our order but she aggressively responded that she was busy with another guest. Having worked in the restaurant industry for years, there is no place for aggression and hostility.
In reply to us spending $100, it's not difficult to do. You should look at your other 1 Star reviews that claim the same thing we have, which is that our family has NEVER been yelled at by an Owner that provides goods and services in our lives. The very response that you gave this review actually 'proves our point' pretty well. Bitter? Yes, unprofessional as the Owner. You might be able to take some constructive criticism, because the power is in the reviewer!!
We visited Keese's Greek Cuisine on the evening of December 30, 2023. After ordering, we received the requested two glasses of wine and a hummus dip, which were provided by the house. Nothing happened for 30 minutes after that - no communication whatsoever. The starters we ordered were not delivered. Suddenly the two main dishes (pork chop and chicken sharwarma) were brought. When we pointed out that we had not yet received starters, the main courses were taken away and after 10 minutes we received the starters we originally ordered. We were also told to let them know when the main courses were to be served. After eating the starters, we were served the main course that had already been served - not freshly prepared, but the dishes that had already been waiting for 15 minutes. Both dishes were cold and the meat was completely dried out. We tried the dishes and returned about 2 thirds. We expressed our displeasure matter-of-factly and were then offered two glasses of wine at no additional cost, which we declined. After this bad experience, I paid in full for the starters, main courses and wine I ordered. Because of the poor service and completely cold main courses, I didn't leave a tip. Today I noticed on my credit card statement that the restaurant had deducted an unauthorized 40% tip from my credit card without permission. I have already reported this fraud to the credit card company and submitted the copy of my card receipt. I reserve the right to take further legal action and will file a credit card fraud report with law enforcement if necessary.
The food is superb. However the owner?/cook (I’m not sure what her name is) is AWFUL! Very, very rude and ungrateful for business. My husband and I ordered takeout and were told it would be ready in 30 min. When he got there, they had our order wrong. We ordered roasted chicken and she gave us fried, which we didn’t want. she told us roasted chicken isn’t very popular (so I shouldn’t order it?) and takes 30-45 min to make, so she’ll just give us kabobs instead. I guess that’s ok, even though I wanted the roasted chicken, which is why I ordered it. I would expect an apology or an offer of a discount or maybe a free dessert at the least, since this wasn’t our mistake and is costly us a lot of unnecessary time waiting. Nothing. She also went on a tirade about her awful workers and how she doesn’t give discounts and they aren’t a takeout place. Umm ok? Why did you take my order then, I didn’t force you to make me to go food? She also refused to put the salad dressing on the side of the Fattoush salad “I’m the cook and I don’t do that”. OK. Even though the food is great, I won’t continue to give my money to someone who treats her customers this way.
One of the worst dining experiences I have had in a while. Food was inconsistent. Pork chops were tough, fish was dry. Some orders were never brought out. Definitely over priced for what we got. It was hot in the restaurant. The AC didn't seem to be working. Made the meal that much more unpleasant. I do not recommend, stay away.
Very disappointing. I ordered a chicken pita, the tomatoes were rotten and the chicken was dry and over cooked. The service was poor and the waitress forgot part of my granddaughters meal. We went there because Greek Isle Taverna is under renovations. Greek Isle Taverna has the best Greek food in South Florida. I do not recommend Uptown Keese and am nervous because I feel that I will be sick from the spoiled food. UPDATE THE OWNER WROTE POSSIBLE FAKE POST. I was there with my granddaighter and daughter Tammi who also posted a review. There was 1 other couple outside and maybe 4 people inside. My daughter ordered dolma, the stuffed grape leaves. It was hard and the roce was crunchy. I told the waitress we are Armenian and know what the food should taste like. She took it off the bill They know we were there.
I’ve been dining here for the past four years where the owner was always nice. Food was always good. But recently I’ve had the most disgusting experience with the service. Rude and arrogant waitstaff verbally assaulted myself and my son. It was very unpleasant to have dinner with a drunk yelling at the bar for nearly half an hour behind us. We were the only paying customers on a Saturday night. The staff was trying to escalate and cause a scene. Unfortunately they must’ve thought I’m a tourist, but I’m local. I’ll make sure all of my clients and friends know to avoid this place.
Regular customers (not any more). Clearly drunk guy at the bar was yelling and hollering right behind us. I don’t like asking myself so I asked the waitstaff if they could tell him to shut up. Instead, the waitstaff began verbally abusing us. They called my mother old, rude, and disrespectful for absolutely nothing. They told me I should learn some manners and that “you don’t own the place.” They also tried detaining us until my card processed. Who does that? Young staff is totally entitled and THEY should learn some manners. I’ve never seen or experienced staff this unhinged and rabid in my life. I’m not letting some kids talk down to me or my mother. Pathetic.
