Tom Jenkins BBQ Fort Lauderdale Reviews
Tom Jenkins is a household name and undoubtedly has the best BBQ ribs, sandwiches, and BBQ chicken in South Florida. You will love their fresh, down-home sides like: baked beans, potato salad, and collard greens. It's a very small restaurant with a rustic, woodsy feel. Seating inside the restaurant is very limited with about 7-8 picnic style tables, so take out is ideal. There may be a slight wait during peak busy times but it's definitely worth it. Best BBQ and sides hands down! 💯
Soo good. I was craving pulled pork but chopped pork worked out just fine. Generous portion and really good. The coleslaw was a little pickle heavy for my tastes but my wife liked it a lot. Beans were excellent, almost spicy but not quite

I just ate here for the first time, got the spare ribs, with the dark chicken, and it was all very good. Thanks you sirs God bless
Food was SO GOOD and FRESH! The brisket was nice and tender and customer service was supper amazing I love it here !
The place feels like a old fashioned bbq joint pulled out of the heart of Texas. When you walk in, you are hit with the sweet smell of bbq, and the decorations set the mood for something good to eat. Walk-up counter service style ordering makes it easy and a no hassle affair. Now keep in mind this is a real bbq place, so if you go late in the day, they might be sold out of things. We had the baby back ribs, which had a lot of meat on them and were well smoked. 5 out of 5, according to a 7 year old. The pork and beef were also well seasoned and had a good smoke on the. All the sides were well seasoned and on point to match the good bbq flavors.
I've always passed by this place but never actually stopped by until last week. Since then, I've been twice and both times have been remarkable. We've tried out the brisket, baby back ribs, spare ribs, pulled pork, chicken, beans, mac & cheese, cornbread, and the lemonade. Out of everything we've tried, we've loved most of it. The only thing that could use some work is the brisket, not sure if it was just an off day but I'll give it another chance. My favorite items have been the baby back ribs, spare ribs, chicken, mac & cheese, beans, and pulled pork (in that order). Also worth mentioning, it's probably the best bbq sauce that I've tried in quite some time. Highly recommend it! Anyways, definitely will be back soon to continue trying out the menu and giving that brisket another chance. Come check it out today! Update: The move is to come here during lunch where all the meats are fresh - do not come just before they close between 5:30p-7p. This is the twilight zone where you don't know what kind of meats they will have nor will you know if the food will be fresh or not. During lunch time all cuts are available and all are delicious! The brisket, the pork, the chicken, ribs, etc. etc. ALL are spectacular!
My lady picked this restaurant for my Bday, the food was excellent & the staff were wonderful. They have a down home flavor & wonderful atmosphere. Those young guys know how to cook, & they're very passionate about what they do. (Super clean ! ) from the front area to the restrooms. I shall return 😊
Probably some of the best BBQ in town, highly recommend to those who love homemade cooking and especially BBQ. Best value around too. Staff is great and treats you like family. Combos are great, their BBQ sauce is one of the best I've had. Gotta try for dinner, lunch or whenever !
Really delicious BBQ! I had the brisket and the spare ribs 2 meat special. The hush puppies and fries were also freshly made! Everyone was really friendly, it seemed like a family run place. Definitely worth the stop!
A true staple in South Florida BBQ, everyone knows about Tom Jenkins, and it's the longest tendered BBQ joint in my address book. It's pretty far out there but I smile from ear to ear as I venture toward Tom's. Everything I've had from the brisket, ribs, pulled chicken and pork have all been mouth watering, very tender cuts of meat. The BBQ baked beans, collard greens, potato salad, mac n cheese are all very good. Great smoked meats, great sides, true southern atmosphere, Tom Jenkins is a South Florida BBQ Legend!
Always great food, got the slices pork, good sweet tea, mac and cheese was on Pointe, we Love this place
Returning to Tom Jenkins after we originally discovered over 9 years but haven’t been in the FLL area since. Still a great BBQ. We came around 5:30 on Saturday and we bit disappointed they didn’t have any brisket or mac and cheese. The side ribs and chicken were good. Love their cornbread. Prices are very reasonable but heard they’re increasing soon.
Hands down, the best collard greens in town. Man... The food is good, but missing items from my to go orders happen to frequently. Make sure you check everything before you leave. I tell myself that, but I want to trust them. While I was waiting on my food a woman came back because her order was wrong. I just got home and I'm missing my fries🍟😫. Tried calling to let them know.... No answer.
This place is so iconic. I’ve been eating here my whole life. It never gets old. So delicious!
Been going here for 30 plus years still great. This place hasn't changed except they take plastic and I think app payments now. Being diabetic I love that everything comes unsauced, and when I used to use their sauce it was great. The corn bread is not to be missed, the baked beans are a standout as well.
I love BBQ. This place is GOOOOOD BBQ, a fixture in the county. You'll see it the moment you walk in, if not from the scent of the hickory smoke, from all the articles plastered on the wall giving them kudos throughout the years. There are great BBQ places in Fort Lauderdale, this is THE ONE to go to.
Basically like a hole in the wall with a massive smoker . Enough parking for about 30 cars . They always have sports showing inside of the game because they're fans of local athletes and many many storied athletes have come here or eaten here or grew up here . Tremendous and incredible ingredients mixtures of sauces. Every side dish is absolutely delicious, including the collard greens . They do specialty pies on certain days so you have to call and check . They also have freshly squeezed lemonade which is delicious . Don't let a corn muffin fool you. They are absolutely addicting . The way I found this was we smelled it and like toucan. Sam, on the cereal box we followed our noses until we arrived at this place and it did not disappoint. I even bring my friends from Europe here so they can experience" real" American food. And they absolutely love it. 26,000 stars for this place. It is absolutely incredible.
my friend Jerry recommended this place. great ribs and brisket. I think I will come like once a week. I am from Texas and this is A+ bbq
I have tasted BBQ from NYC, Texas, Washington DC, Tampa FL and California and by Far Tom Jenkins still holds my number 1 spot as the best ribs! Not only does the meat fall right off the bone there custom sauce is so good it is now able to be purchased to take home! I would give 10 stars if i could. Nothing else compares!
First time trying southern bbq food because I am visiting from Montreal. Food was delicious and I enjoyed the old fashioned interior ambiance. The lady that served me helped me choosing what to have and was very kind. Thank you for this experience 🙏🏻
Service was top notch - Cashier was friendly yet sassy which kept everything moving as I went during a lunch rush - Food had great flavor - Side portion could be a bit larger - Pricing on par with most bbq joints - I would return - The aesthetic of the place has a real vibe…
I am from the Milwaukee area and just passing through. I am SO sad that I don’t have this BBQ place up by me. This was the best BBQ I have ever had. If I could take the BBQ sauce home, I would. I am going to dream about this food. A MUST STOP!
I have been meaning to try this place and went yesterday. So glad I did! It feels like an old school southern BBQ spot, which is super rare in south Florida. Lisa at the counter was incredible. I ordered the 2 meat platter which came with 2 sides for $18 and a slice of sweet potato pie. All was great 👍🏻
One of the best barbecue places in Ft. Lauderdale. The ribs and chicken are always very consistently good. The sides are not as good as they use to be, but sometimes still delicious. On a even more positive note, I have been coming to Tom Jenkins well over 15 years, and the customer service in the past was always a little rude and cocky at times, but within this past year the service has made a complete 180. You truly feel invited and welcomed when you come in the restaurant.
RIP If you're looking for the best BBQ in town then you have found it upon arriving here. Make sure to get some corn muffins and hush puppies too! They have some fancy sodas too, I always order root beer then forget it's birch beer, but still good. Pork sandwich, ribs and catfish all good picks!
There's barbecue, and then there is Jenkins. We take people there and after try to convince even themselves that "X" place is wa good as...and they are wrong. I live 2+ hours away, and I try to always get here for a meal. Their brisket is so good. You know it's real barbecue when you smell the oak fire as you try to find parking because it is always that busy, because it is that good;
This place made me feel like I was in the 1800s, eating lunch with Christopher Columbus. The environment adds just the perfect touch of taste. I order my food and it came it out a great time. When I took a bite of the rib it was so tender it feel off the bone. I would 100% come back here, just next time with a friend like Christopher Columbus.
Legendary BBQ. Been coming here (from long distance) off and on for decades. So sad it's closing it's doors for good soon, but I understand. Thanks for all the great BBQ, Tom Jenkins! Best wishes for your future!
I drive by here all the time and my friends told me I must give it a try.. I'm now more disappointed in my self for not going way more often in the past! The staff is friendly, really fun and helpful. The food though is simply amazing, I had the spare ribs and pulled pork. Unfortunately they were out of the brisket so I'll try that next time. The collard greens, baked beans, and mac and cheese we're out of this world. Finishing it all off with a corn muffin I would strongly suggest you check this place out.
I stopped in today for a final “farewell” lunch. I had the brisket with baked beans and it was amazing, the meat was tasty as were the baked beans. It was so busy I also bought a half rack meal for dinner. My lunch was AMAZING as I’m sure the ribs will be for dinner. I’ll miss this family run BBQ restaurant. Their food was always on point and their employees were always nice. Best wishes to the owners on their retirement.
Tables dirty and sticky service at counter was great friendly and very nice ribs were dry like they didn’t have any water in warmer so just drying them up definitely needed the bbq sauce but flavorful greens and potato salad were good
Good friendly place find off road side food little dry needs water in warmer very busy good for business no one wiped tables greens was cook nice
The ribs were amazing. The brisket was good. The Mac and cheese was okay, and the collard greens were unique -:(. The sweet potato pie did not have a southern flavor profile. The peach cobbler had a good taste but needed a homemade pie crust instead of a bready crust. The corn bread was overcooked and dry.
#Recommended. #Affordable. #Good for families. The aroma from the the giant smokers in the back and piles of wood greet you from the parking lot of the low slung building on the highway. Counter service and no frills dining at communal tables (with a few two tops outside) with solid BBQ wait inside. Tom Jenkin’s is listed among the best BBQ in South Florida. We enjoyed the food with generous portions, excellent sides and homemade BBQ sauce. The whole chicken was excellent while the brisket was a bit dry. Will definitely come back next time we find ourselves in Fort Lauderdale.
I was told to go here by my uncle. I'm from Connecticut and we have no good barbecue there. My friend and I went there and it was great reasonable prices wonderful food and great portion sizes. I even took some of the ribs home with me. I highly recommend this place a great location in a must see when visiting Fort Lauderdale Florida.
The first thing you notice when approaching Tom Jenkins BBQ, is the wonderful aroma of smoked meat. The staff are friendly, the food portions large. The meat preparation is authentic. The baby back ribs were meaty, but a little too burnt on the small ends for my liking. The sides of coleslaw and potato salad were tasty. I would definitely return.
A preface… I have eaten Tom Jenkins since his nephew operated the business from a trailer. I ordered the chopped pork dinner today for lunch and was disappointed to find that the meat was tough and fatty, possible due to a poor cut but most likely due to not smoking the pork long enough to render the fat and ensure a tender finished product. Very disappointing indeed… however, the Cole slaw was amazing with just the right amount of vinegar to counterpoint the mayo. The Mac & Cheese was good with a healthy crust on top. The corn bread muffin had good flavor but was heavy as a rock, perhaps due to not using enough/any eggs in the batter. It’s a sad state of affairs when the sides are better than the main course, which is the BBQ. Gary’s uncle, Tom Jenkins, would be ashamed of the Que that his namesake is slinging these days.
We arrived 30 min before closing, though they stopped serving and locked the doors 10 minutes after our arrival. They were out of all sides. They also had no sausage links. I did manage to get what they said was the last chicken Caesar salad. The chicken was tasty but the bed of lettuce had no Parmesan or croutons like most Caesar salads. It felt like the staff were trying to close down and get out on time. My friends ordered a pulled pork sandwich which they rated average. I don’t think it’s fair to rate their food based on this visit as most menu items were not available. The restaurant was very clean and the staff polite. Maybe I’ll give it another try someday..I’ll just make sure to arrive well before closing.
Have had them wish list for a while to try and finally had the opportunity. Got the two meat combo with brisket and baby back ribs and for my two sides I had mac and cheese and collards with an iced tea to drink. I also ordered the peach cobbler. I found the brisket to be a bit chewy and the ribs were quite dry, possibly overdone. The sides had a strange vinegary taste in the background that was off putting. I also felt the corn muffin was a bit strange as the outer edges were all very mealy as if enough milk or whatever they used wasn't mixed in with the batter. I did however enjoy the barbecue sauce, the iced tea, and the peach cobbler, which had a nice lemony zest to it. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed as I had high hopes from the high customer traffic and the seeming rich history of the establishment.
This place use to be one of my favorite BBQ places but I noticed the quality has gone down. I visited not to long ago and the ribs were pretty good this time but the side were not. The collard green recipe has changed (blah😒), the mac n cheese was dry & burnt up but the potatoe salad was good. Back in the days this place used to be so packed. Not anymore.
I was really excited to try this bbq joint after seeing many recommendations on FB. It also has good Google reviews. When I arrived at the park, I noticed many many large smokers in the parking lot, and that was a good sign. I had the sausage, slaw, and beans. The slaw was ok, the beans ok, and sausage just ok. My wife had the pulled pork. The pulled pork should have remained on the smoker longer. It was chopped and not pulled.
I have passed Tom Jenkins for years and always wanted to try it. I was disappointed. You stand in line to order and when ready, they call your name. You sit at picnic tables. I had the 2 meat combo. baby back ribs and beef brisket. It comes with 2 sides, I had baked beans and fries which weren't hot.
Just okay. Food was kind of on the dry side. Cornbread overcooked. Portions are decent. Staff behind the counter had the typical South Florida mentality of they're doing you a favor serving you. Heard great things about this place. But can't see myself going back. There's plenty of good barbecue elsewhere. Sorry Tom.
This was my 2nd visit. I was wondering why it took me so long to try it again. Once l called to order and was telling the staff on the phone l would like the fatty parts of the brisket and center cut ribs she replied, "you get what we have". I told her nevermind and decided to visit the restaurant. I asked the lady at the front what's the reason l can't get the meat the way l like it. She replied because you have to get it the way the owner likes it. So l went ahead and ordered the food the tab was $20+ in which l don't mind paying if your food is quality. I ordered the two meat plate with brisket, ribs, collards and potato salad. The only thing was good was the ribs. They need to just take brisket off the menu. It was soooo dry if l didn't have something to drink l would of choked. The sides didn't taste homemade they had a weird aftertaste. I have to remember to only get ribs that's it. It's disheartening when you pay over $20 and the food isn't top quality. Pleaseeee learn to master that brisket the way you've mastered those ribs.... A whole plate minus the ribs in the garbage the dog didn't even want the brisket 🤦🏾♀️
We've gone to Tom Jenkins for years. We went yesterday and it's been a year since we went. Serving size changed. Not the worst issue. But the food? What happened? Chicken was not good. I can smoke better. Same as the brisket. That wasn't even brisket. It was steak. And then sausage. Oh. Wait. They ran out. At 3pm. I think Tom sold to cousin Fred. Won't be going back. There's other options closer to home.
Good people, mediocre, barbecue. Small portion size. Four ribs each about 3 inches in length. More like finger foods than baby back ribs. Good flavor though. Brisket was chopped rather than sliced…kind of dry. Barbecue sauce was not the best. Sides were in small portion cups. Mac & cheese was good. coleslaw could have been better. Expected more for the price. Would not recommend.
I'm giving them a 2 instead of 1 star because the staff was very nice... and I wish I could say the same about the food. I had a quarter chicken with baked beans and mac. The chicken was ok.. it was honestly the only thing I could eat. The muffin was super dry, not even a glass of milk would've helped.. the baked beans tasted like they went from can, to pot, to plate.. not even an effort to season them or throw a twist on them.. and the mac was bland.. I see others mentioning the "old" Tom Jenkins.. this was my first time there so I'm not sure what the "old Tom Jenkins" was like but maybe its time to reel it back in an go back to whatever you used to do.. serving the food that people seem to have loved.
This is the only barbecue place I used to recommend in Florida but it has gone way down hill. My chopped pork was burnt today that was a lot I couldn't even it; it was dryer than it has ever been. Even their coleslaw recipe changed; it used to be amazing now, and it tastes almost like KFC slaw. I would ask to please bring the sliced beef back because their brisket has always been trash. The girl at the register was completely rude, no smile, no nothing, and I was courteous and knew exactly what I was having. I have been a loyal customer of Tom Jenki s for over 20 years but I will never patron them again. Absolute garbage!
Ehh…. I really want to like this place but I just had two bad experiences, both years apart. Recently had the beef brisket, it was not great. I highly recommend Mission BBQ brisket. The Mac and cheese was different , not my favorite but interesting. Not bad though. The slaw was actually very good and so was the cornbread. They were out of chicken by 1pm so I can’t comment.
I ordered the two types of meat combo with Mac n cheese(not pictured) and french fries with a side order of baked beans. If you like a smoked bbq, this is the place for you. The spare ribs(3 pieces come with the meat combo)and chicken were juicy and flavorful. The sides are a different story. To me, the Mac n cheese had a vinegar taste, the baked beans looked like and tasted like pork and beans out of the can, and the french fries were just regular. You also get a corn muffin with your meals—the one I had needed to be baked a little longer. I am not in a hurry to go back. It
I'm giving two stars because I've had them many times and they are usually pretty good.. However, my last two visits have been horrible. Today I ordered a pound of chopped brisket and it was HORRIBLE! It was so dry! I tried calling the restaurant three times to let them know but each time I got no answer. That is what prompted me to make this review. .My last two visits have turned me off. I try not to write off a restaurant when they've historically been good but two times in a row and can't reach the restaurant to let them know means it is time for a Google review. I was looking forward to some good brisket today and it was a major FAIL! I would've gone back but I live pretty far and only visit when I am in the area. So after leaving the airport today, I figured I'd stop by. Now, im just mad and hungry. I spent money on the driest, worst brisket ever and I can't reach them to let them know. Let's hope they read my review. #driestworstbrisketever
El personal no fue amable. Dice que cierran a las 6 y llegaron dos damas 35 min antes y les dijeron que estaba cerrado. Las costilla estaban buenas.
Deben remodelar el local y mejorar atencion no es lo que era antes
They have fell off badly i used to go all the time before covid .....I've been back a few times all the time the brisket was dry and the sides weren't right.....
What happened to my favorite Tom Jenkins family restaurant? I am stunned of the quality of the food. For example, I ordered my fav drink sweet tea, it taste like pipe water. I asked for side of coleslaw and they gave old coleslaw. I asked for a new one and still got an old Coleslaw. Spent $44, Please owners go today and taste it yourself.
Not the place i remembered years back ! Food was way over priced !! Took my son telling him how good the place was and long lines. Went in there at lunch time place was almost empty. Now I see why, it was filthy, the tables were extremely sticky and trash from prior customers. Staff obviously lazy, kinda rude at the counter, the food even worse, cornbread rock hard, ribs were tough as could be ! My son got sick 30 mins later ! Never again 👎👎👎
Today was my first time trying the place and I’m very disappointed and will not return the cashier was very friendly great customer service but the food was not worth my money I have a family of 5 and just spent 80 dollars on takeout that I cannot enjoy the corn bread was chewy and lumpy on the inside the slab of ribs was very small I ordered spare ribs looks like I may have got baby back my half of chicken was dry my large sides where messed up the Mac was burnt the baked beans were out of the can and the greens were sweet and had no meat I’m very disappointed I really wish I would have checked my food before I left I would have got a refund ASAP.
Decided to have lunch and a take home dinner and dessert with a bill of $66 the food isn't even average. Got a chopped beef sandwich and the chopped beef wash the size of large ice cubes, asked for a lemonade drink refill and was told l'd have to pay another $4.25. My original drink purchase was an Arnold Palmer so not sure why I need to pay $4.25 for just a lemonade refill. Peach cobbler was burnt and while eating there we had to return both cornbread muffins as they were rocked hard. We were given another one but nothing had changed so we just tossed them. Young lady working the counter was very nice.
I have been going to Tom Jenkins since 2013. This was the first time I was disappointed in the food. I ordered a half a slab meal with mac & cheese, collard greens and an extra corn muffin and sweet tea once I arrived home and tasted the ribs they had a funny aftertaste to them And they were dry and I was very disappointed. Tried calling the restaurant to let them know, was hung up on twice and then the line was busy, the sides. macaroni and cheese was fine. The sweet tea was fine and the collard greens were OK. I am very much disappointed I rave about Tom Jenkins barbecue all the time and as I stated before I have never had an issue with them, but today was something different. Don’t know what’s going on, but you guys need to fix it. Keep in mind, I traveled from Margate to Tom Jenkins only to be disappointed. Stick a fork in me because I’m done.!
I came to Jenkins bbq about three years ago from New York to write a review. I gave it a great review food and service was excellent. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was extremely nice. I went back today and it felt like I was in a different restaurant. They had no meats ready except smoked turkey. The owner was not around and the staff was very rude to customers. I saw at least 20 people walk out after being told it would take 45-60 minutes for chicken to be done. They had no idea when the other meats would be ready. Whoever is managing this restaurant today, had a bad attitude and does not have the owners best interest at hand. It felt like all the other staff was walking on eggshells. I would not recommend you go to Jenkins restaurant and get there, and no food is ready in the middle of the day, and be told you have to wait an hour.
$30 Wasted the food was disgusting, The Mac wasn’t done or used cheap cheese the greens where mush & the meat was oiled down im so disappointed in them because I’ve been coming here since a child I’ve even had family work here I wish I would’ve kept my $40 including my tip cause this was bad never again. I really am so mad I have to throw this away the Mac is what really let me down
Yeah this place used to be alright, actually enjoyed their food in the past about pre covid! Now it’s always super dry, sides aren’t good, but really I just got pushed because the black lady with yellow hair just be giving off bad energy, and it’s not just this time it’s most visits as of recently. I don’t know if she just depressed or something but when I was told they ain’t have brisket and I asked, “what do you have available” and she rolls her eyes, huffs about it and barely wants to tell me what they have. Definitely won’t be back anymore or my family as there is new, much better BBQ places in the area. Disappointed in Jenkins man, guess the old days just die off eventually
The only thing good here is the peach cobbler. I ordered the brisket dinner, extra lean, and I just got a lot of fatty meat that looks like leftover garbage. I visited again October 2021 to see if this restaurant has gotten any better. It was disgusting! UPDATE. I visited again for the peach cobbler and it was not cooked enough. The crusty part was like raw dough. ☹
My experience was horrible. When I walked in to purchase my food, everyone that were serving food to go was on their phone. I said something about it because I wanted the gentleman to wash his hands. After I said that he wanted to fight and even met me outside at my car. Sad situation. The fella was only 20ty years old.
First and last time. I got 1lb of chopped brisket, large side of Cole Slaw, large side of Beans, (4) hush puppies, and (4) pieces of Corn bread. The meat was tough, and lacked any smoke flavor or seasoning, and that explains why they chop it up. It was just chopped bland meat. The corn bread was burnt and not edible. The Cole Slaw was just okay, and the beans fall far below those name brand canned beans. I tried to call them when I got home (40min) drive, but after dialing 10 times they did not answer. The reason I called was to ask why the $40 order did NOT COME WITH BBQ SAUCE?????? I specifically asked the lady at the register if it came with sauce, and she said “YES”. These mistakes are just unacceptable for a place that’s been around since I was a kid. I wish it was closer, as I would have returned it for a full refund.
While at the restaurant waiting for my food, I observed several employees on the cell phone, not washing their hands and not using gloves. I witnessed an employees outside in the cell wearing black gloves, then returned to the kitchen preparing food orders. On a separate occasion, a was employees outside smoking and then returning to the kitchen handling the food without washing their hands or changing gloves.
Jenkins used to be the best, haven't been there in 20 years. Was telling my son how good it was and took him there yesterday for lunch. It was a horrible experience and waste of almost 50 dollars, extremely overpriced ! Empty at lunch time 12:30 which I thought was unusual, there used to be a long wait, the staff was kinda rude, ribs were tough, cornbread rock hard, brisket was over cooked and horrible, tables were so sticky the bags literally stuck to the tables. Lazy staff sitting behind the counter rather than simply wiping the table and cleaning up the trash. My son 14 yrs old got sick after we left ! The place isn't what it used to be, and I'd NEVER go back ! Waste of money ! 👎👎👎
I bought the ribs ,Mac and cheese and collar greens on September 2nd 2025 the Mac and cheese was horrible it taste like it was old or some type of medicine. The week before the collar green was nasty. So it use to be my favorite place until whoever they got making the Mac and cheese dont need to make it anymore it was too nasty none of my Co workers ate it.
They serve the best food ever, but they’re notoriously short-on hours of operation. Ever since the pandemic, they’ve drastically reduced their hours. On July 5th, at 6:47 PM, I arrived to find their doors locked and a sign on the door. I drove nearly 30 minutes to get here, only to be disappointed.
Drove to Fort Lauderdale from west palm beach for ribs and came home feeling i wasted $38 for ribs that tasted like lighter fluid. They are moving the meat too fast and not taking the time burn the lighter fluid. I ate one bone and feel my lips tingly and have lighter fluid smell on my fingers. Very disapointed!!!!!!
There is a black Lady there with yellow hair i tried to x change my macaroni and cheese to a corn cause I saw it wasn't fresh she refused and I left it on the counter she put it back. American restaurant if you not satisfied with something you have the right to xchange for something else this is American way. And their meat was leftover meat, it's cold like a frog dry and no taste. May be that spot is good at night but daytime is a big zéro.
I used to LOVE this place... Lived nearby was a 2-3x a month place for me. Spent over $50... It was so dry and bad we just decided not to eat it and wrote off the cost as a total loss. It went into the garbage... That's how bad it was! Do not waste your money, this place doesn't live up to its old reputation in the tiniest of ways. Even the staff didn't look like they wanted to be there, who can blame them... NO A/C was working at the time!
I heard on the radio that my favorite BBQ spot was going out of business in a few weeks. Within a day of hearing that sad news I stopped in to get one last bite. Ordered two meals to go, one 1/2 slab baby back ribs with potato salad and collard greens, the other 1/2 slab reg ribs with same sides. They were out of baby back ribs. Got home anticipating an enjoyable Tom Jenkins meal as always. Wish I had opted for living on the memories. Potato salad and greens were tasty as always, not so the ribs and BBQ sauce. Ribs were tasteless and tough, sauce was very sweet and not their herbal flavor as was their norm. Had no idea their delicious ribs were a thing of the past, I had not been there for a few years as their catfish (one of my favorites there) was no longer on the menu. Wish I had chosen to "Living on a memory."
The barbecue ribs were dry and probably never t from the same day. They forgot my Cole slaw. The baked beans were okay and the cornbread was dry. We had takeout; if I ate in I would have gone back. I won’t go there again.
Fui hace varios años y me encantó en ese momemto. Volvi a ir y que gran decepcion; las costillas secas y sin sabor y la cajera muy antipatica.
