Uncle Lui's Fort Lauderdale Reviews
Uncle Lui: Malaysian Kopitiam Comfort That Hits the Right Spot in Gading Serpong Craving classic kopitiam food in Gading Serpong? Uncle Lui delivers that nostalgic Malaysian-style comfort. The “chou” fried rice stands out with its dry, non-oily texture—simple toppings but tasty lapchong, perfect if you love less greasy fried rice. The special fried vermicelli comes Malaysian-style too, with a dry texture and generous toppings like shrimp, chicken lapchong, and chicken—flavorful without being oily. The toast set with tea O and soft eggs is decent, nothing too special, but comforting. Milo toast is the fun surprise: crispy toast topped with Malaysian Milo and served with milk—kids will love this. Drinks like teh tarik, iced lychee tea, and iced Milo come in old-school metal cups, adding to the authentic kopitiam vibe.
Great place to have breakfast or brunch. Service was fast and okay. Satisified. The foods were so so, but okay! The toast filled with kaya and butter, half boiled egg was perfect, and the teh tarik was also good! I’d like to say, a comfort food. Price wise, a little bit too pricey for the kaya, egg and coffee set. But okay.
A very warm and cosy vibe. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The kaya toast is especially delicious!
Mie goreng belacan was very tasty, strong belacan aroma and slightlyy sweet (in a good way). Kaya toast was quite good but nothing special. The milo toast with milk was a bit disappointing, expected the toast to be crispier and milk to be thicker. Service could be improved, turns out there's an old menu (big book) and new menu (small book), we ordered from the old menu and didnt know there was a new meny until we asked about the milo milk toast cause we saw it on the reviews
Great spot for breakfast, also the price is affordable. Kinda crowded here around 9 in the morning, so I need to go upstairs. Place is not really spacious but still has a lot of seatings. I ordered the complete Combo Toast served with 1/2 boiled egg and a cup of coffee. I'm full for this set menu, maybe I will try another dish from the menu next time 😅 The toast is served with Kaya paste and Butter (love it), perfect match with the half boiled eggs. Recommend it for 10/10!
One of the best kopitiam in BSD/Gading Serpong area. The place is clean and comfortable to bring kids around. We ordered Mie Balachan, Claypot rice, Mie Ayam, and Srikaya toast. All were amazing! Mie Balachan was indeed its must try menu. The only thing which not perfect was its parking area. Overall, 9.5/10.
New kopitiam with good affordable foods and nice ambience, instagrammable photos. The star is their specialty claypot rice, the rice is very fragrance that you will finished every drop of it. And we like the fried casava, crispy outside but soft & fluffy inside. Place that definitely worth to try and sure come back again. Love their wall decor 👍
Uncle Lui has that cozy kopitiam vibe with a wide variety of food to choose from. The dishes taste great, served quickly, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A nice spot for a good meal.
I had such a great time eating at Uncle Lui! I really liked the teh tarik, pangsit, singkong goreng, kaya toast, and nasi goreng. I thought the decor of the place was good too. The food came quickly and I had a fun time overall hanging out with my friends there. I really recommend it to anyone who’s looking for something good to eat at a great price!
Let me start of by saying this, in this place, you have to order and pay first before you can find a place to sit. Generally, people try to get dibs on a seat but not here. If you try to take a seat before paying, you'll bother other customers that have paid. That happened to me, I've paid and having difficulty finding a seat because a random dude was sitting on an empty table. Staff had to get involved. Moving on to the food, the toast is impeccable. It's up there alright. Perfect mix of kaya jam and butter. I'd say it's one of the best place to get kaya toast. Teh tarik not so much, feels like an instant drink. Nasi Goreng Yang Chow is pretty good, I just think it had too much spring onion. The claypot rice is a bit ordinary. Will visit again to try the noodles. I really like the atmosphere, with the vintage adverts posted all over the wall on the 2nd floor. Also the old TV/radio on the 1st floor.
Kopi tiam style, 2 floors, clean, spacious on 2nd floor with nice decoration. 20% disc till 24th March 2024. Reasonable price, friendly staff. We order combo toast (toast, half boiled eggs, ice kopi o), fried banana with kaya, teh tarik. The kopi o is less strong. Good place for hangout.
Hidden Gem!! My new Fav breakfast Place ! Love almost their everything!! Their mala chic noodle and chilli oil is the BESTTTT!! Perfect noodle texture! Their cabe sih TERBAIQUEE kentel pedess!!! Hainam chick ricenya jugaa enakk , u can taste from their soup .. my happy tummy🥳
Uncle Lui is a Kopi Tiam with halal food. They also have a main course beside snacks. The Noodle is very good. The coffee also has strong flavor and good portions. The teh Tarik is actually Thai tea, not teh Tarik. We come in a group consists of 15 people. The waiting is quite long, and they keep sending out the same order repeatedly. The food and drinks are good, but they aren't used to crowds.
Taste of food great, tarik ice coffee good, bakmi ayam lebar 👍🏽, Kaya toast very good crunchy, butter bold with Kaya
Uncle Lui’s food is undeniably delicious, no debate! However, the place is quite small and often crowded. When I visited, there was a bit of a conflict with someone cutting the queue, and another person was unwilling to share a table.
Uncle Lui in Gading Serpong offers a cozy Peranakan kopitiam experience, ideal for young crowds, especially teenagers and those in their 20s or 30s. The service is impressively quick, making it a convenient spot for a casual meal. The food itself has a decent taste, offering a good balance of classic Peranakan flavors with a modern touch. The atmosphere is laid-back, with simple yet inviting decor that complements the café’s vibe. It’s a great place to hang out with friends or grab a quick bite, though the food may not stand out as extraordinary.
A quite decent kopi tiam in gading serpong. The service is very quick, all of our food came less than 15 minutes. The chilli oil noodle was tasty, pangsit, coffee also taste good, bihun goreng tasty as well. Haven't tried the claypot yet, but looks yum since several customers were ordering it.
As a person who is Singaporean, I find everything in the cafe as closely authentic as one would expect at a kopitiam in Singapore from it's atmosphere, service and food especially the Kaya Toast. It has made me forget about the fact that I'm actually in Indonesia overseas as though I never left home for a short moment. Customer service is on point, they reply on time and even gave me good recomendations when I was thinking which food/drink to order from. Overall, I enjoy my experience in this cafe and urge anyone especially Singaporeans curious enough to try it out.
Cocok di lidah and with reasonable price juga! Btw kaya toastnya juga best seller ya. Salah satu tempat makan yg bisa didatengin kalo lagi bingung mau makan apa 😉 📍 @unclelui.id Ruko Sorrento Place No. 26 Gading Serpong
Lokasi : datang pagi2 supaya gampang dpt parkir. Pagi2 dah rame woy.. datang pesan dulu dikasir, bayar, baru deh cari tempat duduk. Service : gak lama kok makanannya datang.. semua staffnya dah sat set Makanan : menurutku makanannya biasa, kopi nya maknyosss.. kalo pesan es kopi tarik minta low sugar.. wenang pagi2 minum kopi nya. Toast nya kayaknya enak, next datang lagi bole coba lah..
Good food, good price and good ambience. Mie ayam chili oil is a must.
It also sells ‘90s snacks! Fair prices, friendly staffs and tasty food! Well done!
The food is great, especially the noodle and the kaya toast. Must try 😁
The toast is very good, combined with coffee and egg. Good breakfast.
Breakfast addict must try..
Best Kopitiam!! All basic menu but all good! Definitely comming back

Great Kopitiam foods and drinks
Cheap tasty comfort food
Great place, great foods🫰
Mie Chilli Oil 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The Kaya bread toast was absolutely delicious!! I ordered Singkong goreng, Pisang goreng, Coffee tarik, and Claypot rice. All was very comforting and filling. Great place to hang out with friends and eat with your family!
Food is great! Coffee is strong, son kit is super delicious and overall very recommended
The food is great, especially the Claypot and Signature Kaya Toast. The menu is affordable, and the place is clean and neat.
No need come to Singapore to get the original Singapore Nasi Ayam, the taste of hainam chicken rice is delicious here.
Teh tarik is the best. Mie balacan, yummy. Good vibes there
Good place, good food, good prize
Love their bakmi chili oil & claypot rice... Don't forget to order their Sonkit Kiamboi.. So refreshing...
Breads are crispy but not too hard to hurt the gums, enough kaya and butter for each piece, delicious Simply love milo! Chili oil noodle is a bit spicy so id rather have them separated and add to my own preferences, but it taste great Could use a bit more cleaning especially level 2 area in between customer use.. Other wise its nice, would recommend to bring a very big crowd space is a bit limited i think 5-10 people together is still okay tho depending on the days and time of day The have a small corner for childhood trinkets, brings back memory lovely! Order and pay first, then they will deliver your food, i actually enjoy this system, for those of u who do spilt bills, now u dont have to! coz everyone can just order their own and pay individually! Makes things easier!
Overall a good experience. We ordered claypot rice, yang chow fried rice, belacan fried noodles, and chili oil noodles for main course. Everything was quite tasty. Definitely recommended! We also ordered kaya toast and fried cassava, toast was crunchy and the filling is good. The cassava is soft yet also crunchy.
Great affordable food! Love the chicken mala fried noodles, chewy homemade noodles with lovely taste and a bite from that mala. The staff is rather quick and dismissive, and may come up rather dumb. They delivered my table a cup of tea we did not order, and when I asked, they just said it’s a cup of tea then left. Suddenly returned took the cup and sent it to the correct table without saying a thing. Definitely quick and worth EVERY rupiah spent here. Great affordable quick hangout spot’
Decent food, but room for improvement. The parking area is spacious, but often crowded. Unfortunately, the outdoor dining section lacks comfort due to numerous flies on the floor, possibly caused by recent rainfall. The restaurant's interior is crowded, resulting in slow service (15-20 minute wait). However, the food's taste is satisfactory.
We ordered the Kaya Toast and Mala Noodles and it was delicious. We’ve also tried the Nasi Goreng from Grabfood and it tasted great as well. The place was packed during brunch time, and from the few times I went here, the service was rather slow. It took some time for the waiter to clean the table cause they were super busy with serving food, and it’s really unfortunate because the food is really great. Maybe adding more staff would be better. On a side note, they also automatically round the amount in your bill.. which is rather unusual. Overall food is great, service could be much improved.
Kesini pagi-pagi sambil nungguin anak sekolah, masih jam 8 aja udah penuh.
A bit crowded, but the food was amazing with astounding service and friendly employees. The vibe is also cozy and old-school.
Rate 3,5 ⭐️ Ordered kaya toast combo with kopi tarik with my friend. The toast had a crispy outer layer, sweet kaya jam inside, combined with the savory salted butter. Dipped into the runny egg on the side? Delicious 👨🍳👌 One thing we found odd tho, our kopi tarik turned up to be different in color? Mine was darker and my friend's was lighter. Slight difference in taste too; mine had more kick to the coffee and more sour, while my friend's was lighter and milkier. Please standardize your menu!
A restaurant with a Kopitiam model, the menu is quite varied, the atmosphere is old-fashioned. We are asked to choose a menu first on the ground floor, pay, and then choose a seat. There are 2 floors to enjoy food. Maybe because the morning atmosphere is quite crowded, so when enjoying breakfast yesterday, there was a queue that was skipped, where the menu of consumers who came earlier took longer... just a feedback for the restaurant. The others are quite good.
Rasa nya tidak seperti yg di review di tiktok 🙏🏻 Kaya toast 3/5 Roti nya dingin, tapi masi kriuk2 Mie ayam 2/5 Mie nya agak benyek. Tawar. Dan pesanan nya sempet salah. Servicenya perlu ditingkatin. Karena mba nya masi kekeh pesenannya bener, sampe customer di sebelah yg nanya baru di ternyata mbanya sadar salah 😆 Isokay sih, cuma kalo sampe uda kemakan kan sayang yah.. Mungkin next bisa di traning lagiii 🥰 But utk interiornya overall oke, berasa vibes di jaman old ~
Service was good, but the food could be much better.
Cute decors, with overall jadoel style. Provides kopitiam regular menu, coffee tasted like usual kopitiam style, a bit different than coffeeshop. Kaya butter toast was pretty good, the toast was crunchy! Unfortunately, they sent wrong orders a few times to our table (a new system required possibly?)
It felt like they were rushing us to eat. While we were eating, there were so many people cleaning the dining table, sweeping and clean the floor at 2nd floor, even though it was only a little before 7 pm
They can't maintain food quality, taste has been going downhill.
I am extremely disappointed on how the owner handle the seating. Yes, It was extremely busy that day BUT the fact that i asked what is my queue number and i was offered to be seated outdoor in which i accept only for the owner to said that she can't give the seat since she hasnt put our name on her list! You should not offer us seating if you know for a fact that there's still queue. Truly unprofessional
The food portion is too small with super standard taste, its so not worth it to dine here. They dont accept credit cards, so please prepare cash yeah right. And I saw many people. Long line at the cashier, cause the queuing system is bad. The place is so not recommended compared to other kopi tiam, and to be honest this place is so over rated. I wont go here again.
