Thursday night early. Great music. Lovely newly rebuilt place post hurricane. Very friendly. Our server told us they had five feet of water inside from the hurricane, just opened again in June. Super nice, the fish has a great crunchy coating we really liked. Great value, glad we went!

We just arrived yesterday for a vacation and our 1st meal was gator bites & 2 different chicken sandwiches at Gator Bites & Tails in Fort Meyers. The food was delicious, service excellent very friendly atmosphere . This will be our new favorite place for the month.

The best burgers around, hands down. Service is always friendly and they have a number of gator dishes that are my staple when I eat here.

Best burger I’ve had in Florida so far, the service was great and they had live music which was also very nice. Highly recommend for burgers, sandwiches and chicken wings. Priced very fair as well! Family of 4 with two appetizers, all 4 of our meals and a beer/cocktail for the adults, all for just under $100.

I read that the burgers were good in other reviews and they are spot on with the hamburgers. Very good, hand pressed burgers with toasted bun. Staff was excellent, young girl would stopped by often to refill drinks and remove dirty dishes. Atmosphere is typical bar style, loud and busy. We have lived here for 5 years and this was the first time we tried this Resturant wish we had tried it sooner, we will definitely be back.

I arrived early afternoon. There were plenty of people enjoying themselves here. This is a very cool little bar spot. It looks like they have live entertainment on certain days and that would be very interesting.. I got the seafood platter number 3 it has mahi and shrimp and gator... when I came for. The gator was delicious. The shrimp in the mat he was good also but the gator was fabulous. . Happy hour croctails to boot! Service was wonderful.

Stopped by here and got some gator bites. Hostess was friendly and also the manager (possibly). I got the bites two ways. The blackened and the breaded. Both were very good and tender. We would definitely return if we are ever in the Ft Myers area again.

This place is right next to the hotel we are staying at and we have already been there three times! They have a nice outdoor seating area and the interior has a really cool look as well. The burgers are really good. Good quality beef and grilled with a nice crust. Fries, gator bites and hot wings were also very good. The prices were reasonable too, especially for this area. Would definitely recommend. We are planning on going there again this weekend!

My friend and I went to see a friend who was playing Friday night. I'd never been there but had always heard good things about it. I was not disappointed! The staff was truly amazing and the crowd was laid back and friendly. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Stuffed potato skins and chicken strips were absolutely delicious! These folks must be from Detroit because there was plenty of memorabilia! There's even a little shop off on the side to purchase t-shirts and whatnot. We had a great time with this being a cool place to relax and listen to some really cool tunes! This is the place you will want to go back to!

Nice little bar in a strip mall. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was tasty. Had several options for Gator if you really want to try it (not just the normal fried bits in a basket type meal that most places over.) Reasonably priced for the area.

Very fun place with awesome food! We visited tonight and the place was packed. Live music and the band was a ton of fun. The Cajun gator is fabulous - very tasty! Oh - and their wings are awesome too.

My family and I always make sure to stop for lunch/dinner on our way to Captiva. This year we arrived later and so we stopped by for lunch on our way back home. This is a clean, family friendly restaurant with friendly staff, nice atmosphere and great food! We are never disappointed and that's why it is our go to spot while in Ft. Myers.

We drove up from miami, best restaurant we had all weekend. Big shout out to Jordyn our waitress , the young man who sat us & the manager who changed our channel when we asked. Not alot of people at bars/ restaurants are as nice as the people I mentioned above- sorry I didn't get ur names!! Also best tasting gator bites & Philly cheese steak!!!

This place is absoutely amazing, we came in from Clearwater Fl, the gator bites sampler is awesome , never tried gator before and it was delicous , food comes out quickly the server kelsy was very kind, shes on top of service if your looking for a sports bar, come here DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE!

We watched an Oilers game here, we didn’t get the outcome we were hoping for in the game, but the staff was very accommodating and we really enjoyed ourselves. We tried Gator for the first time, and they have a great drink and food menu. Highly recommend this place!

Freakin DELISH. Blackened gator, and breaded gator are so good. Didn't get to try the others. Service was excellent and hamburgers are NOT FROZEN. So juicy and fresh. Definitely a MUST when visiting Cape Coral.

I've heard of this place and had to try it out. The food was amazing, but the service there is why I'll come back. The bartender there was Megan and she was super friendly and quick with my drink and food orders. All in all, great experience.

If you are looking for a restaurant that serves the best gator bites, you have to come here! My fiance and I wanted to try something new so we came here. The gator nachos were so good we ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture of it. Its a must have! My fiance had the gator quesadillas and as you can see in the picture, it was fire! Lmao! Our waitress and the staff were very friendly and service was great.

We are staying in North Ft Meyers and wanted some gator. I googled and GatorBites Tail and Ale came up. It took us about 30 minutes to get there, but it was worth it. We had the Mahi stix and gator bite appetizers. Both were delicious. The pig on cow, patty melt and Philly steak were GREAT! We loved all of it. Our waitress, Amber, was very friendly and attentive.

Stopped in for takeout. Live band, TVs all around, friendly and very attentive staff, quick service. As for the food... in one word-YUM!!! The quality of the food exceeded my expectations—everything was fresh, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. You can tell a lot of pride goes into what they serve. Ok. If I were driving by, which I was would have totally wrote this place off. My brother told me about it and I stopped in when I was next in town. Great atmosphere, great staff, and an owner who really cares about quality of food and service. Prices more than reasonable with healthy serving (Mahi Mahi fish sticks) and live music and plenty of sports. Great mix of locals and tourists. Nothing fancy but great place to chill and unwind and enjoy great food, atmosphere, and drinks. Kudos to the owners. Way to build a great welcoming bar and grill.

Get the beer battered shrimp! Make it a basket. The slw was great and the fries are seasoned. The aioli was spicy and the onion rings crispy. Getting hangry on Valentines Day so we had a late lunch and I don’t regret it at all. Margarita was a little weak but the tajin on the rim was nice.

Nick, the owner, added charm by working the floor as a “pretend bus boy” before joining us for a great conversation that made the evening even more memorable. As a lifelong foodie who usually cooks high-end meals at home, I was genuinely impressed. Some of the negative reviews I’d seen beforehand now seem baffling — this place exceeded expectations across the board. The food was outstanding. The beer-battered shrimp were the best I’ve ever had — light, crispy, and flavorful. The wings were excellent, and my wife loved her smoked pulled pork sandwich. Their signature fresh gator was also a standout. First-timers: go for the virgin breaded version — it’s far more tender and crispy than the flavored options. Prices are very fair, especially considering the quality. The cocktails are strong and well-made, and their house IPA, Reef Donkey, was a surprise hit — easily the best IPA I’ve had. Despite being a sports bar-style venue, it’s spotlessly clean, welcoming, and delicious. It’s a little off the beaten path, but absolutely worth the effort to find. We’ll definitely be back.

Been eating here for years. Always great food. The gator is delicious. Gets a bit pricey compared to the panhandle but can't find gator anywhere else down here unless u go to the glades and it's always delicious and well cooked. I suggest the gator quesadilla 🤤

The Saturday/Sunday smoked pork special was delicious and super reasonably priced. Service was quick and friendly. Lots of TVs with football playing if that's your thing.

The wings are crazy good!!! Ordered hot wings and was blown away at the breading and sauce. Not too much breading and just the right amount of heat-hot enough to need a break between wings, but not too hot that I didnt want the next one! The burgers are the best in Ft. Myers, too!

Attention all tourists: Definitely come to this place to try some exotic Floridian gator meat! Most places just serve the gator bites, which is just small, fried pieces of gator tail. But this place has other things like a gator Philly roll, gator quesadilla, gator nachos, gator burger. Of course, they have other things like chicken, beef, fish. The gator Philly was delicious - The meat itself is a tad chewy because it is an alligator. Very flavorful though. The gator burger - you can’t really taste the alligator, but again it was very well seasoned and delicious. Very large portions. Our entrees all came with curly fries and house dipping sauce which had a bit of a kick to it, and it paired perfectly with our seasoned curly fries. The mahi sandwich was a little too fishy, but it was a good slab of fish. Our server was very helpful and friendly, the place was clean, and they did distance the seated parties for social distancing, which was good. Overall, a great experience, would recommend. Solid bar food option. Everything we had was solid to very good. Very good and fair prices. Good quick option with lots of tvs to watch games. Needed a little more chicken in my chicken Philly to make it great. Overall a good choice. Service was attentive and friendly. The food is great bar food and the service is usually pretty fast. I suspect the service is related to being off season and the laid back attitude of the gulf coast. This is good and I'm probably just uptight. The price is fantastic. I had the #3 with gator every night and loved it, my first time eating another predator. It was really good!!!

Probably one of the freshest salad that I have ever eaten.. I ordered the fried seafood platter with a side salad. Mahi fish, shrimp and gator was fried to perfection.. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal although my mixed drink was a screwdriver and it seemed as though the OJ was a OJ drink mix not real OJ.. still would come back but have a different drink.. maybe sweet tea next time..lol surely worth trying out

Ok, I realize this is mainly a sports bar and grill...but...I ordered carry-out and where they have you pick up your food is the most crowded and busy part of the restaurant! Right by the bar and server/kitchen pickup area. Not to mention, NOBODY asked who or what I was waiting for. That needs to be reworked and a dedicated carryout employee to greet and handle orders. I just don't think the restaurant is large enough to handle the crowds. The food was good, went there twice.

Nice bar and small restaurant with about 10 booths, a dozen tables, and full bar seating. Has appetizers, main dishes, and desserts - with quite a few drink options. Prices are low relative to many other local places. A treat for me was eating a "gator quesadilla". I enjoyed it. I don't know that the gators that I saw shortly before I went there would approve.

Fun local bar with great food and fantastic service. Jordan took excellent care of us on a busy Friday night with fun local musicians playing. Was impressed with the quality and quantity of food for the price. We are tourists here but if we were locals I can see this becoming our hangout.

Me and the Wife had a late lunch here on 1/25/26. There was playoff football going on and the place was packed. We were promptly seated and it did not take too long to get waited on. I had the famous Fish and Chips, which was Haddock with fries and slaw. The fish was good as were the slaw and fries. The fish was beer battered and cooked nicely. My wife had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with fries and slaw. She liked the meal. Nice place with inside and outside seating.

Went here to try it out just because it was close to our hotel. Went there towards the end of the night. Got right in. Ordered a couple of beers. Beers were cold. Shirts that they have for sale are great. The waitresses and bartender are great. The owner helped out on getting a shirt that was not in the size we wanted. The only complaint I have is the gator bites. They were absolute trash. The blackened seems like microwaved pieces of leather.

1/3 pound gator bites was more like a couple ounces of tough, chewy stuff. Have had MUCH better elsewhere.

I got my food to go the atmosphere looked really chill when I went in there the gator sampler was really good wish it cooked a tad bit longer then I got fish and chips fish was hot just lacking in flavor it needs seasonings bad some old bay salt and pepper something overall 7 out of 10 my opinion

We were SO excited to try this place - we drove 5 hours. The atmosphere was FANTASTIC- we loved the live singer!!! He made up for everything!!! The menu said “No refunds on Gator”, so I never said how long I had to sit there and chew through the overdone bites that I received. Gator should NEVER be that hard to eat, especially from a restaurant that specializes in it. 🥺 The calamari, chicken fingers, and margarita were good though… Our server charged our card for someone else’s table, so we left with an additional $44 charged to our card until we get a refund. Pretty dang disappointed overall - thank goodness the gentleman up on stage made it bearable. We’re not hard to please… but, we do expect restaurants to live up to their name. Edit: BOTH charges posted (not pending) to our checking account. We went out of our way to go back while on vacation to speak to the manager. He couldn’t provide proof that we’d be refunded for THEIR mistake and gave us cash back for the other table we were charged for on top of ours. I also mentioned that their gator was super chewy… he said, “It’s supposed to be chewy, it’s a protein!” Ummmm… no. Just don’t overcook it. 🙄

Good chicken wings. Over-priced everything (two fish sandwiches and 6 wings two cokes = $50 😳) and terrible service. Only two servers on and it is the top of the holiday season. We waited for everything from our food (served barely room temperature and very dry/over cooked fish) to our check (server was overwhelmed with tables). We won’t be back.

Talked a couple of my snowbird friends into trying gator for the first time. Don't. Tiny bits of batter with a trace of gator meat. Trying to save money is what the waitress admitted, but the price wasn't cheap either. It used to be pretty good. Probably never going back...

We have stopped here a few times before and had a good experience. My husband loves the gator bites. We were excited to bring relatives from home to experience why we love the bar & restaurant. However this day was not good. The tacos we had were terrible. The chicken and beef both were cold and the meat had been prepared ahead possibly frozen? Meat was dry and tasteless. Missing taco seasoning. I told the waitress. She was going to tell the kitchen. Also when she brought us the Mai hi appetizer to place on table we had to pick up the drink a pina-colada that slipped from hands and spilled on table and also some on the Mai hi. Showed waitress the bottoms were wet. We ate most realized later they were wet from the drink not because of grease. Paid for everything!! Not good service to say the least. Very disappointing.

I had high hopes for this place, ive been eyeballing it for a long time. Finally decided to make the 25 min drive tonight to get some gator bites. I felt that it was very exciting you can try them 4 different ways, regular breaded, blackened (cajun), bloody Mary and buffalo. I was charged $35 dollars for 1 lb even though the recipt said I should only be charged $29... that was really unusual. Took the gator home and ate it with my partner. We both thought the texture was really off. I love gator and try it any chance I get, im a born and raised floridian so I love it. The texture makes me think they either 1. Freeze it and cook from frozen or thaw it out then cook it. Or 2. Have a cook that doesnt know how to cook gator. Its a delicate meat and has to be stored, prepped and cooked properly for the best flavor and texture. The batter they use had no flavor.. the gator was mushy and very chewy. I did really like the buffalo flavored gator but again the texture was not good. They dont even have a signature sauce for the gator it was paired with what I suspect is Bleu cheese dressing and a cocktail sauce. Won't be back for gator at 'gatorbites'. You'd think it would be the talk of the town considering theyre named after their appetizer and it is not appetizing. The atmosphere was also unsettling because they over served a customer who was very intoxicated and yelling profanities loudly.

Horrible experience! We went to have lunch with our service dog and the guy in front was extremely rude he greeted us with such disgust and disrespect. He told us we need to seat outside because of our dog and despite that it was 95% we agreed (no one was seating outdoors because of the temperature) we had a party of 6 so when we went to combine two tables to make it more comfortable he came out and was rude about it and acted as we were inconveniencing him. We got up and left.. if that was the owner it’s a shame. Never again

Nope. I understand having rush hour but this place was too full of people for me. The service was not quick. Was not friendly. Was not nice to eat. My food was cooked at the consistency of something a mother bird would feed to their baby bird. We ordered a pitcher of beer and it was not up to par was flat and the entire meal was very enjoyable took way too long to get our food The Waitresses are not considerate. When we walked in the door we should have known to leave because the first table of people had issues and we're complaining for the 20 minutes we stood waiting to get our acknowledgement to be seated. For * 3 small gator bite plates and very very overcooked and chewy calamari appetizer was $70 . I do not recommend this place and I will not be returning to this establishment. If I could give half of a star I would or less

We are Michiganders, Lions fans... and we went in to watch game & most of their high top tables were "reserved"? Really? a 1 pm Sunday football game at GatorBites? Unfortunately, we won't be rushing back, as their service sucks as bad as Lions played today.

We saw an article about GatorBites in the News-Press and thought it would be a cool place to take out-of-town guests. I wanted to check it out first. We drove by Saturday morning and I was going to get a peek through the windows and see if I could get a menu. As I was opening my car door a guy in front of the restaurant yelled out asking if we were going to Gator Bites. I said I wanted to see a menu. He said we don’t open until noon and walked away. Wow! What a way to encourage patronage. There are plenty of restaurants in Fort Myers for us to choose from - certainly don’t need this one!

We were served with spoiled meat and over of the burgers that was too have Gator meat in it, had two small pieces.Owner/manager was friendly when we walked in, but because we sent our food back, he didn't say two words when we left. I would not recommend this place, not for the price or food

Food was all frozen bowling alley food. Frozen tenders and frozen breaded wings. Also, sign on door says Out of Gator Meat, which was probably frozen as well. Sat at the bar which was half empty and ignored for several minutes before bar guy asks for our order - no personality at all. Receive the terrible food and then was overcharged. After arguing with the bartender, we ask for the manager who also wants to tell us its tright. Finally, the manager realizes we were double charged for fries and slaw. He twice tells us that he took off $6, not the 5 bucks we were overcharged. Then tells us we probably ordered wrong. No apology from either of them. Never will we return.

I spent $60 for “2 pounds of gator” for 5 people to split and we had about 10 tiny pieces each. Also they do an automatic 20% tip on the check then give you a prompt to add a tip like the tip was not already added. Personally I think it was very overpriced but the atmosphere and service was good.

Was very excited to have this back open. I got the pound of gator. The gator was overcooked and barely any meat. As someone who has worked in the industry and even sold gator at their place, I would have never let my kitchen send that out.
