Maharaja Indian Restaurant Fort Worth Reviews
As soon as you enter this restaurant you are greeted with the delicious smell of Indian spices. It was an amazing experience that I would love to enjoy again. This restaurant is sure to satisfy your cravings and your taste buds in one sitting. We ordered the Chicken Samosas, Butter Chicken, Mushroom Mutter, and Chicken Tikka. The samosas were filled with delicious chicken. The outside was a bit bready for my liking, but that’s fine. The butter chicken took my breath away. Oh my god the butter chicken is soooo delicious. It comes with a bowl of rice which perfectly compliments it. The rice was perfectly cooked and further brought out the deliciousness of the butter chicken. The mushroom mutter was delicious. It had a nutty taste to it and was served with nice and tender mushrooms. It didn’t come with rice tho🙃. The chicken tikka was perfect. This famous dish will be famous with your taste buds too. The Tomato sauce perfectly accompanies the marinated chicken. It was amazing. The employees were so kind and helpful. They had no problem changing the recipe to make it less spicy. They were even kind enough to answer all our questions. They truly made the experience more wonderful. TLDR: clean restaurant with beautiful decor and delicious food with amazing staff. 10/10 would recommend
My husband and I have been ordering food from here for years and have highly enjoyed everything we get. We are obsessed with the Korma dishes as we are not a fan of spicy Indian food and it has us coming back each time for more. We’ve tried other Indian places before and nothing compares. Thank you for making our dinner memorable each time!
Have eaten here countless times, never disappointed. So many favorites I can’t list them. Saag paneer is great, vegetable pakora, chicken tikka masala, great garlic naan. Service always excellent.
Vibes, immaculate. Staff, immeasurably kind. Food, HITS EVERYTIME. These kind folks really know their way around some spices and the kitchen. The consistency in the food quality and flavor is a rarity and so refreshing not having to wonder how good it'll be today. The to-go lunch buffet is very reasonable and the options are tasty. They even have desserts and of course vegetarian options. The food is devoid of heat so if you've tried other local restaurants or are just very shy of spicy food the offerings that I tried were mild but sooo flavorful. HIGHLY recommend to anyone especially people who havent tried SE Asian dishes besides butter chicken before.
Admittedly, I have been critical of the food here over the last 15 years, but I will say, there has been a major improvement in the dishes. The last two times I came for lunch, there were many excellent dishes. The butter chicken, saag paneer, and beef Jalfrezi were spot on. The curry gravy is creamy and the meats are perfectly cooked. The samosa’s were crispy and tender, not greasy or dry. Give Maharaja another chance if you’ve been like me and didn’t like the food a few years ago.
I have been coming here for 25 years. Always had the lunch buffet and it always been so consistent with cleanliness, service and good food. A nice selection of soup, salad, hot dishes and a dessert or 2. Never had an ordered dish from the menu or to go so I can't comment on that but the buffet may be the best Indian buffet in the Fort Worth area.
9/16 9/17 9/18 9/23 10/22/24 Dined here several times while staying in Fort Worth. I posted pictures of these visits, each time was deliciously consistent. Wonderful friendly service. The Sunday buffet is very good as well. I also noticed lots of take out. Plenty of parking.
Amazing flavors in all the masalas. We ordered a spice level 3/5 and it was the perfect level for us; got about halfway through each dish before it felt too spicy, but we were full regardless. We tried the lamb masala, vegetable and chicken samosa, the Paneer Makhani which is vegetarian, the Maharaja Biryani which is the rice dish with added shrimp and garlic naan. Amazing
I liked all the food I tried here, the Mulligitawny soup was my favorite, but the lamb Naan and lamb with onions and ginger were both tasty, the masala chai was a bit too sweet for me but otherwise on point. The fried appetizers had been sitting for a bit I think, they weren't fresh out of hot grease for sure and the fried chicken was dry and tough, all together its a good place to eat.
I ordered from this restaurant twice through DoorDash, and both experiences were very disappointing. I ordered mutton biryani the first time, and it was very poor in taste and quality. The second time, I ordered a snack, and it was completely uncooked. Food quality matters, especially for health. I hope the restaurant focuses more on quality rather than quantity.
I was really excited to try this restaurant after moving to the area. Tonight I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala through doordash and was a bit underwhelmed by the flavor right off the bat. There was zero spice and just a lack of depth. I’m used to burning lips and a runny nose when I eat Indian food, but I was fine to continue eating it since I paid a good bit for delivery. But the thing that really got me was the brown pieces of meat in my Masala sauce. I ordered chicken, and these clearly were either beef and/or goat. It honestly made me feel like I was eating someone else's leftovers that they just mixed some chicken into. And this wasn't like it was one or two pieces that accidentally fell into my meal, it was shredded up and everywhere. It really grossed me out to the point that I couldn't eat anymore. I'm extremely disappointed and likely won't order from here again. I'm honestly not the type to leave a review when I simply don’t like something or if the flavor isn’t my favorite, but this was truly gross enough that I feel like I've gotta warn people. Beware!
I had never eaten such worst chicken biryani in my life. I got diarrhea after eating here, likely due to dirty or poorly handled food. This place needs better hygiene and quality control. I would not recommend eating here.
Food was ok. I asked for spicy but got non. So I sent it back to the kitchen and all they did was add Valentina hot sauce witch made to food tast nasty. I would recommend to stay clear of this place.
We visited Fort Worth for vacation and decided to try this restaurant based on its decent reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We ordered the Paneer Kadhai, Shahi Lamb Curry, and Tandoori Paneer Tikka, and none of the dishes had any flavor. They were all extremely bland, with some even lacking salt entirely. The Tandoori Paneer Tikka was especially underwhelming—just chopped paneer cubes soaked in an orange-colored water, and it didn’t seem like it had been cooked in a tandoor at all. The accompanying onions and peppers were simply raw, which didn’t add any flavor or texture to the dish. The Paneer Kadhai was equally disappointing. The gravy was a watered-down version of tomato paste, and even here, the vegetables were raw. Based on positive reviews it appears that the food may be prepared to suit American tastes, but it was far removed from authentic Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend this place based on our experience.
UPDATE - Ordered the food again thinking that this time I might good food, but no. Ordered Navaratan Kurma but received mixed vegetables curry. Even the mixed veg would have tasted better. This was horrible. The parotha was like pizza base. I will never and ever order from this restaurant. My money wasted. These people loot the customers. The size of the vegetables in the curry were good big and uncooked as well. Only low quality cheap priced vegetables added in the curry. I think they give this kind of the food when you order through Uber eats. This restaurant is never recommended. I ordered almost everyday since it was very near to my hotel. When I ordered through Chownow, the quality of the food was above average and when the same food ordered using Uber Eats, the food was awful. It was either uncooked or overcooked. The tandoori rotis were way too thick and one can’t eat the edges. I ordered the pickle and received a small cup of pickle along with mint chutney and sweet chutney from 2$. Also the rice had hair in it. The cooking staff hates cutting the vegetables. If you look at the size of the carrot in the food, they are too big to eat at once. Served the microwave heated papad when ordered 😃. It was also complained Uber Eats and received the refund as well. The Rasmalai was also good sometimes and sometimes spoiled. Samosas were uncooked and raw. The bhajis were also uncooked and tea . Overall if you order the food from this restaurant staying in a hotel then expect subpar food. Ridiculous. When you order alu paratha they never send any pickle or yogurt. The Bhindi masala has raw and uncooked. Even the onions as well. The chefs hate their job I believe.
