First time at an HEB and we walked up to this sit in True Texas BBQ restaurant. The cashier Victoria V. Was so sweet and made us feel welcomed. Definitely recommend trying the chicken tenders. Great texture and just the right amount at this time of day (6 count). Spent only $23.05 in total for two people.

I don’t even leave reviews like this but I had to. True Texas BBQ is hands down the BEST barbecue I’ve ever had and I’m beyond picky. My food has to be seasoned and flavorful or I’m not impressed. That chicken?? Baby. So juicy. Seasoned to perfection. The perfect balance of spice and a little sweetness. I literally shocked myself at how fast I ate it 😭 I was tearing that chicken UP. I called my best friend while I was still eating and told her I’m taking her next time my treat. That’s how good it was. They definitely gained a regular customer. If you haven’t tried them, you truly don’t know what you’re missing. And if you’re thinking about it… stop thinking and just GO. Get there. Get there. GET THERE. 🔥

This is the second time I have visited this restaurant location. Heather and her staff were exceptional! The food was very tasty and served quickly. The brisket chili and the Serrano cornbread had the right amount of spice. Also I liked the collard greens. I will definitely eat here again. Heather was very helpful to quote and schedule a special catering order for me during this visit. Thank You!

Came in with a last minute order before thanksgiving and they were so focused on helping us and accommodating our needs. Not only was David super friendly. His knowledge and patience was exactly what we needed. He also went and asked the Mgr Yush for additional assistance and he did not disappoint. They made a huge save for our Dani in a crucial crunch for thanksgiving that we will never forget. Bbq is top knotch too!!!

Great brisket and great service! We provided the BBQ for a surprise birthday party over the weekend. The order was large and challenging as we live in San Antonio and the party was in Ft Worth, however Edie was just so great with ensuring the order would be ready for pick up and making sure every detail was attended to. The brisket was absolutely fantastic and many of the guests commented on it. The sides were also great. The serving sizes were very generous.Thank you Edie for making sure everything was perfect!

OH MY DELISH!!!! I am super picky about BBQ meat and not a big fan of BBQ sauce, they have excellent meat & sauce. The meat is great even by it's self. The sauce is a great combination of sweet and tangy paired with great smoked flavor from the meat. I wish the prices weren't as high but the food is definitely worth it.

After dragging myself to the store for some forgotten items on my weekly shopping list, I decided to try the barbeque. It really hit the spot. The lady behind the counter, Janis, was really helpful and patient with me, she had great recommendations. I ended up getting 3 brisket sandwiches to go for myself and my husband and my daughter, and they were tasty!

I love this spot. Been eating here for over a year, and nothing hits the spot better than reasonable prices, great service and a loaded brisket baked potato 🤤. And don’t get me started on the brisket itself, yall… Their team is so polite and give some of the best service I’ve had in a BBQ restaurant, especially Deondra and Janis!

Super friendly staff. Skip the self help kiosk if they're not busy. You can have an employee take your order and it's quicker. The food is your standard bbq. Tasted good. They have plenty of seats to eat there. The smell is great too! It's in the HEB so parking is tough.

The food was delicious. We had the brisket and pulled pork. The cornbread was very good and the service was 5star! Deondra took our order. She was very patient with us and later when asked about the meal remembered my name…what! Who does that nowadays? Janis was there for assistance with refills and takeout needs. She was attentive and friendly! Our service was excellent, the food was delicious and we would highly recommend this BBQ location.

I put in a GrubHub order for the lean brisket meat plate with spicy BBQ sauce. Mac and cheese and collard greens on the side. Food was delivered promptly, but with no barbecue sauce. Greens were slightly salty but good. Mac and cheese was excellent. Brisket was tender and not dry, but not quite the same without the sauce that I was expecting. I would give them another chance if I am. Portion sizes felt small. I thought perhaps I would get a slice of bread or some type of extra filling morsel on the side like a roll. But with the three items, it was more of an appetizer than a meal. In the video clip I'm miming "no dip" and showing that there is no sauce to dip my meat in or to drizzle over the brisket.

Man N Cheese was disappointing…overly viscous and just not that great. The Brisket Beans on the other hand were seriously delicious; think Pinto Beans with Brisket to pump up the flavor. Lastly, the Texas Tornado… I’ve had my fair share of Texas Twinkies, which this was similar, but it was just okay. Attributing some of this to the fact that they just opened last week, but I’ll definitely check this spot out again!

Ordered kids brisket with slaw and bottled drink. The self help screen says and shows it's sliced and comes with bread, pickles, onions. I received chopped brisket, pickles onions, slaw, no bread. The chopped has sauce on it, which is too sweet for my liking. I asked for sliced, worker says it shows chopped on their screen (he was NOT rude. Quite cheerful, actually). I just looked at receipt and it says chopped. It will save you all money to invest in a screen update. For sanitary reasons he let me keep the chopped, but I trashed it because it had the sweet sauce on it. I got my slices, then I had to ask for bread. The self help screen says cole slaw, while your physical sign says apple slaw. Which is it? What if I was allergic to apples? The brisket was not seasoned and it was cold....true TX BBQ.....they aint lying about that. I guess Texans just like the taste of meat. Us Northerners enjoy flavor (seasoning). The supposed good sides were sold out, so I didnt have much choice on the side. No dessert for me as i am sure the banana pudding is box pudding, and not truly homemade where they stand over the stove and stir for hours to avoid lumps. Im also iffy on trying the peach cobbler, because all restaurants use gelatin or something. Their cole slaw aint touching KFC. Im gonna go back on a Friday to try their beef rib. Thats it. DFW has been a huge disappointment when it comes to true BBQ. -Sincerely a non-native Texan.

Empty cafe but after 10 minutes from ordering I asked about my order. It was out a couple minutes later. Food tastes pretty good. Chili is greasier than I like. Ordered a side of beans for $1.50 and I got a little barbecue cup size…1-2 bites. Menu should specify size because that tiny was ridiculous.

Watch the weight of price per pound. Charged me for 1/2lb brisket and 1/2lb Turkey. Both weights came up short. I asked and they do not give you the weight tag. 😡. Packages felt light and I asked the lady at counter why they don’t give you the weight. To top it off I asked for the lean brisket and these pieces had loads of fat and how do you cut a potential of a 1/2lb into only two slices. Hire or train someone to slice the brisket. YOU OWE ME $2.40 True Texas BBQ! Pretty much common practice to give the customer just slightly more meat than 1/2lb. Don’t uncut the customer, over deliver for the customer. Additionally, earlier we walked up before they opened. Guy working there was terrible. I asked if they had a menu…”it’s in the screen and it’s not on till we open”, he says this as he’s walking away from me. This place is NOT about customer service or satisfaction. I looked for a manager, but you can’t differentiate the regular team member from the leaders. Terrible service and experience!!! Brisket was fatty but food was ok though.

The fact this place has such good reviews is insulting, I wouldnt be suprised if they faked them.

I have no clue why this place has good reviews because it is garbage. Ordered the 3 meat plate on DoorDash I got the burnt ends and double order of pulled pork. For the side I got Mac n cheese. The burnt ends were 90% fat, the pulled pork wasn’t that great at all and they didn’t give me the double portion of it either even though I ordered the 3 meat plate. The Mac n cheese is Kraft. I’m from upstate NY and there’s a tavern near me that smokes meats in the summer and their pulled pork is 50 times better than this place.

Someone took my food and they wanted me to pay a second time because of their negligence. I only found out because I reached out to my dasher. If you want to receive your food, don't order from here. And please don’t waste your time with a fake apology. If you cared about customers (who fund you and your business) you wouldn’t make us pay twice for your overpriced bbq that YOU let someone else take. Your staff told my dasher “sorry but she’s going to have to reorder”. As a business owner myself, I understand the importance of accountability and customer satisfaction. You apparently do not.
