El Sabroso Fresno County Reviews
Ordered: Sausage and Egg Burrito no/ cheese. Located inside a gas station mart. This breakfast burrito was massive. I love it when you order and you see the chef crack real eggs and cook it on the grill. It's also very customizable. You can add whatever you want into the burrito. The service was great, on our list for breakfast places to go to when we drive up North.
Best burrito at Ez stop with discount gas. This restaurant is the main reason I always stop here- most bang for the buck AND great taste, good service. Made fresh for you on the spot!! Muchas gracias!!
Our order was cooked fresh. We had a couple burritos that were so good and HUGE!! They dont skimp on anything....size or flavors! Keep up the Great Job!
Fresh, healthy Mexican food on the 5. Way better than any other fast food you can get. Chipotle style, they’ll make you a bowl, burrito or tacos. Super friendly staff. Tables inside, clean bathrooms.
El Sabroso at Lassen Ave, Avenal, CA is a hidden gem for authentic Mexican food! The highlight for me was the freshly fried chips—they’re crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, making them the perfect snack or side. I ordered the veggie burrito bowl with guacamole and chips, and everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The staff is lovely and welcoming, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. One thing to note: be careful navigating the sharp curves on your way there! Overall, this spot is a must-visit for anyone craving great Mexican food with fantastic service. Highly recommend!
Search no further if you are looking for amazing Nachos!!!! I read another review on the nachos, so we came in to share some, and we were NOT disappointed! Phenomenal! Deliecious! I am sooooooo glad it showed up on my search! The chips are freshly fried even, and the cheese melts evenly!!!!
We enjoyed our orders. Great food! It's one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. Very fresh food. I saw them fry the nachos while we waited. Excellent service. Very clean place. Clean restrooms. I'm definitely going back if I pass by the area.
Definitely not what I expected to find in a "truck stop" but I have absolutely zero complaints. Indoor and outdoor seating. The food is as fresh as it gets. This station is set off in the hills in a field and it was a beautiful environment to park and spend my evening while I wait for another load. Dinner was phenomenal. Flavor was fantastic. I definitely hope I get to pass through here again so I get another opportunity to enjoy a meal here. Customer service was spot on. Kind and fast. And, the Aqua Fresca is always an authentic beverage to compliment an authentic meal.
Cinnabon, subway and el Sabroso are all inside the same building with a common entrance contrary to what photos make it look like. Delicious & fresh make your own as you go style food with common food court seating. Highly recommend the Al pastor quesadilla!

I went to this Mexican restaurant which was inside a 1 single building along with other shops. So far, this Mexican shop was the best I have ever tasted along with the service and atmosphere. I went to this for lunch from my I-5 journey to L.A for vacation. I ordered a burrito for my mother in law and four veg bowls for my family, including me. For my kid one quesadilla. I really loved the restaurant and I overall had a great experience
WOWZER! For VEGAN / GLUTEN-FREE / Vegetarian is a heaven! 10$ 2 flavour full tacos with Guacamole, FRESH SPINACH, cilantro, tomatoe, black 🫘 rice (no chicken broth) is a rare find in the middle of nowhere! Excellent service and fair price. Such a positive surprise on a gas station. They also have high quality waters in the shop nearby.
Surprised this isn’t rated higher! The staff working there on Nov 2nd 4pm (a woman and a man) were super friendly and made us a delicious quesadilla and burrito. Each one fed us for two whole meals! Highly recommend for a food stop along the 5
This place is now my fav lunch time stop during a road trip up the 5 N. Really good quesadillas and the service was great ✨
Giant burritos $13.99 Good size coctail de Cameron $20 Inside of gas station store. Don't let that worry you. Very good food, friendly staff! Highly recommend.

Decent food. It had good flavor and the food was prepared quickly. It reminded me of a Chipotle. My only complaint was that the beans weren't warm enough in my torta de carnitas. For a quick bite as you travel across the state this place will do the trick since it's inside a travel center! Nothing fancy just plain good Mexican food. Will definitely stop here again,
California burrito: From start to finish, I get to choose the 'toppings' 15-18$, well worth it. The meat is scrumptious but the way the ingredients fall onto the tortilla in harmony, icing on the cake. Friendly staff. -Hate that there's a few flies buzzing around. -I hope one day they give the tortilla that CRUNCH texture, if you know what I mean. Overall, as a food critic. This place has my approval.
If you are headed from LA to San Francisco definitely stop here. Mexican food is really good. Food is fresh and chicken and carne asada have great flavor. The portion sizes are perfect.

Food was underwhelming. Also, they charged me $6.89 per shrimp taco. So almost $14 for two. Even after she checked the price. That is ridiculous. One burrito and two small tacos were $30. No thanks.

Overpriced and way too salty. Was really hungry and sadly really disappointed. $14 for 3 tacos. They look small but are overstuffed.

Stop to get gas and grab a bit. I watch as a woman walked around the counter, no gloves pick up a pieces of chicken grilling and then proceeded to stir the pot with black beans take a few out squish them and throw them back in the pot. Grossed me out. Left without ordering. Your in the food industry wear gloves
