It was extremely easy and fast to get tickets for a game that day, we went to the ticket office 1 and got the tickets. We got to the stadium with 2 and a half hours early and it was great and easy since we were some of the first to go in. The seats are first come first serve so it was great and we got amazing seats on one of the first rows. There is no great food there, only snacks like chips and popcorn. But overall it was a great experience and 100% will do next time I visit rio.

Maracanã is always fun; full or empty. It feels a bit strange to walk into the Maracanã today; it looks like a 'mini Maracanã.' I frequented the stadium between 1998 and 2008, and it seemed much bigger then. But as I said, it is fun—don't miss the opportunity to go if you get the chance!"

Visiting Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro is an unforgettable experience for any sports or culture enthusiast. As one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world, Maracanã embodies the passion and spirit of Brazilian soccer. From the moment you approach its grand structure, you can feel the history—this is where legends like Pelé, Zico, and Ronaldo made their mark. The guided tour is well-organized, offering fascinating insights into Brazil’s football legacy, from World Cup moments to local club rivalries. Walking through the players’ tunnel and stepping onto the edge of the pitch feels almost sacred. The museum displays trophies, jerseys, and photographs that beautifully capture decades of glory and heartbreak. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit engaging even for those who aren’t huge football fans. The stadium itself is clean, accessible, and safe, with plenty of photo opportunities and a small café for refreshments. If you can, attend a live match—especially a Flamengo or Fluminense game—because the electric energy of 70,000 fans chanting and waving flags is unlike anything else in the world. Maracanã isn’t just a sports venue; it’s a living monument to Brazil’s national pride and love for the beautiful game.

A historic place that you must visit once in Rio. Has a lot of activities and very nice museum with all famous players that pass from Brazil.

Very good experience. I attended a fluminense match in the hospitality section, I bough the ticket for 290R with the resellers and everything went very well. You don’t need facial register in hospitality but if you go to the public sections you have to register with your camera and physical passport and that’s a problem if you don’t have it with you in that moment.

Growing up watching legends play at Maracanã, visiting this iconic stadium was a dream come true. The atmosphere is electric, and being in a place filled with so much football history is unforgettable. The tour is well-organized, giving great insight into Brazil’s deep passion for the sport. Walking through the tunnel and standing pitch-side gave me chills. If you love football, Maracanã is a must-visit. Truly one of the world’s great stadiums!

What an intense and fun experience! It's open seating so if you want center, be there early. The street vendors were great for grabbing snacks and drinks before the game. The prices for beer were decent inside as well. Get ready to stand as these fans are passionate and fun. It may be easier to go to a ticket office in town than try the app. About 8 outta 12 of us could get scanned successfully for our facial recognition ticket on our phone.

A must visit for sports fans. There is a walk around some memorabilia of Brazilian great football players and visiting a changing room, before walking down the tunnel and visiting the actual pitch to be able to take some photos.

We were glad to experience a piece of soccer history. Very short but nice tour with access to the benches and an opportunity [for a small fee] to score a penalty kick on the side of the pitch.

Maracanã Stadium, officially named Journalist Mário Filho Stadium, is an association football stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The stadium is part of a complex that includes an arena known by the name of Maracanãzinho, which means "The Little Maracanã" in Portuguese. What is beyond dispute is that Maracanã overtook Hampden Park as the largest stadium in the world. Despite the stadium's unfinished state, FIFA allowed matches to be played at the venue, and on 24 June 1950, the first World Cup match took place, with 81,000 spectators in attendance. What seems like a dream for many fans is a reality when taking the Maracanã Tour. The tour, promoted by the company Inova Comunicação e Eventos, lasts on average 50 minutes. The Tour is one of the most popular attractions for tourists passing through Rio and for city residents. Tickets can be purchased on-line or at the box office of the tour (located at Gate A for pedestrians and for cars by parking at gate 2), open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM). At the box office payment can be made in cash or on credit/debit card.

Entry can be confusing. You need to match up and find your specific gate and then it's a free for all for seats within your section. Concessions were very affordable for a stadium and bathrooms works well. The seats on the stadium were not great and make you lean forward. The stadium itself is great and the field is well kept.

Most iconic football stadium in the world. A must-see place even if you're not a football (soccer for Americans) fan. Well organized museum, where you can see some videos from famous games and a few iconic moments. You can feel the energy

The world famous Maracana stadium did not disappoint. We were lucky enough to catch great weather when we visited. We were not able to catch a match, but we still enjoyed it. We recommend it to anyone interested in really getting to understaff Rio's culture.
