Old Oleander Wine Bar Galveston Reviews
Great place for wine tasting! We met the owner and he is so friendly and welcoming. Try the charcuterie boards, they are phenomenal! Everything about this place makes it a gem! Will be going back on my next visit to Galveston.
Cutest little wine bar. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions I had. Also, the peach wine slush was amazing! Indoor and outdoor seating
Great little place to try out. Just opening up and catering to the people. Try the charcuterie boards and flights of wine. A full taste of Texas cuisine in a sitting
such a great place! all wines/mead are from texas and had the best chicken salad sandwich there.
We stopped for cranberry mimosas. Beautiful patio and great prices!!! We can’t wait to be back!

Had a fantastic time at this wine bar, they only serve Texas wines but don’t let that scare you off, they choose some really great ones to keep on hand here. David was very kind and knowledge and made our time here very enjoyable. My dog was served a bowl of ice water that she was very grateful for. I love the place, excited to see them grow. Highly recommend if you like wines, charcuterie board was great value as well.
We went to the grand opening for the new wine bar & are super impressed with the quality of wine - the staff & the cool island vibes!! Owners were on hand to welcome and offer an official welcome. I work in Galveston but don’t live here. Even though I hang out on the strand - no business has ever been so receptive, welcoming, and attentive. Can’t wait to go back - again & again.
Clean and bright space, relatively new to The Strand. We didn’t have wine but the majority are Texas wines. Husband enjoyed his sweet tea and we split The Old Galveston grilled cheese. I’m glad we did because the sourdough bread is pretty big and thinly sliced, which we love. Ratio of ham and Swiss cheese to bread was perfect. 3/8/24 around 2 pm. I wish I could remember our waitresses name because she was spot on attentive even though she was solo and had another table of 3. She split the sandwich for us so we got extra chips, served with a banana pepper. You can customize a sandwich or charcuterie board! We’ll be back! Love the local newspaper clippings and clean look.
Stopped by on a Sunday. All glasses of wine from open bottles are 1/2 off which is amazing value. Great ambiance and very good value. Sophia our bartender was so nice and we instantly hit it off. So friendly and accommodating. Such a great spot and Sophia is such a gem of a bartender. Overall perfect experience and highly recommend stoping by anytime but especially on a Sunday.
We were happy to find Old Oleander after being completely ignored at a different restaurant down the street. They're dog-friendly, spacious, and have generous portions. We had the mini charcuterie board and muffuletta which were both wonderful and sharable. I took a picture of the cashews which had great flavor, didn't catch the rest of the board because we were so hungry but all was delicious.
David was very friendly and informative. It was decent pricing for mead tasting. We had the mega Italian muffuletta and it was delicious! Only spent $25 on two meals and the one tasting! Fantastic and reasonable prices for sure! We can’t wait to go back!
This is exactly what I hoped for! An exclusive Texas wine bar to enjoy close to home instead of driving hours away. Great vibe on The Strand. If you support anything Texas like me, you will not be disappointed. I visit here every time I am on the island!
Charcuterie boards are excellent. They only serve Texas wines, so a little limited in choices. They were out of the Messina hof pinot nor, so they gave us an alternate and it was pleasant.
Had a wonderful lunch with hubby today. He had a mango habenero limeade, and I had a margarita. It went very well with the Baucom Hot Dog. Good concept..the bread is enclosed so all the sauce stays inside so no dirty hands afterward. Very delicious..will definitely come back.
This place a hidden gem on the strand. A must go. The food boards and flites amazing especially the mimosas. Top notch service... love it. we'll definitely be back.
Omg it was worth the 20 min detour. I like this cart maybe more then any other cart I've ever been too. The sausage was unique and so tasty, the bread was so soft and tasty that I bought some to take home. I recommend the number 1 and the frozen limeade. I had smoked chamoy and my brother got the jalapeño mango and they were both amazing.
I'm originally from NYC. The Dike Dogs is my new favorite place to get a hotdog. They pair these delicious hot dogs and sausages with gourmet buns and creative sauces. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you're in the Texas City area, ya gotta try Dike Dogs!
I have made this a weekly place to get an amazing Hot Dog. So many varieties of sauces to choose from, they are all delicious. Oh and the lemonade, home made. Thank you Dike Dogs for always greeting me with a smile.
This neat little food truck in the middle of the Strand is a convenient location with a beautiful little green region for scenery. The danger dog was a chili cheese beef hotdog inside a small bread bun and was quite tasty. The fried oreos were a powerful temptation and make for a very nice one time treat.

Decided to try this place our for Mother's Day for their specials. They have only been open for 2 weeks, so it is still a work in progress. That said, we were greeted kindly & with a smile. We sat on the patio & got great info on their wine list. They support Texas wines, which we LOVE! I enjoyed a mimosa which was on special for $4. I usually think mimosa flutes should be cheaper, but it was good champagne. My hubs, daughter, & I split their chef's charcuterie board that was on special for Mother's Day. We told them there were 2 cheeses we don't like, so they created it to our liking. The board was delicious! The turkey seemed a little greasy, but everything else was perfect. The bread was like large croutons and tasty. My husband enjoyed his cabernet. The place is clean, warm, & inviting. Music selection was great. Charles, the owner, chatted with us & filled us in on the plans. He was very nice and friendly. They are off to a great start, and we look forward to what is to come. We will definitely return for a wine tasting and to try more things. We are excited to see a wine bar in Galveston.
