Kagura Gardena Reviews
Went to Tokyo Central Gardena for lunch and found this tonkatsu place. Very tasty place in a food court! Ordered demi glazed pork tonkatsu. It came with rice and miso soup. The katsu was soft and tender. Highly recommended. Found the demi glazed pork tonkatsu underwhelming. Too sweet for my taste.
Super delicious Japanese katsu rice! Their rice is already better than most places since I'm pretty sure they use Tamaki rice. Katsu was very crispy and well done. Recommend getting a side of curry, it's good too. Seating might be tricky because this Tokyo Central location doesn't have much seating, so you might need to sit outside.
This place always service great tonkatsu! The katsu is always crispy outside and tender in inside. They nailed down the formula. Don’t be fooled by the appearance that the place is located in the food court. They food is great!
Located in the food court of Tokyo Central in Gardena, this Japanese Tonkatsu restaurant is an authentic hidden gem for Tonkatsu lovers🤙 Tried their pork Katsudon set (you have a choice between pork or chicken also) and the pork upon first bite was juicy and meat was very tender. Outside katsu was crunchy, the pork is lean and didnt have any fat too. Miso soup and cabbage salad was fresh and not instant, I would visit this place again. 5 stars🤙🤙
Be warned that after 5pm they pack up your food as to go rather than plated. Doesn’t make much of a difference as the food is packed quite well but just a heads up. The food itself tastes very good and the pork is juicy and not too dry. While the restaurant usually doesn’t have a line, most of the seating for this food court is outdoors.
The katsu sando was really good, doesn't include curry. Side of curry was $5 which seems pretty steep but was solid.
Came here for dinner after work on a coworker’s recommendation - it was excellent! I got The Loin Katsu Set, which was a great value - katsu, rice, and soup all for under $15. The pork was so juicy and tender, and the outside was so unbelievably light and crispy. The sauce was very good and went great with the pork. Would definitely come again!
First time I've seen a layered katsu. Very good. Well-fried, with a great deep curry sauce. I'll want to go back a lot.
If you're going to eat in a supermarket food court, this is one of the best ones. All the vendors here are pretty great. With eating out prices going sky high, this place is reasonable at roughly 15 bucks for a complete meal. This time around, I chose the filet-croquet set which comes with a pork tenderloin katsu and a cream croquet. Even with the additional drink and tip, it came out to under 22 bucks. the filet predictably was super tender. But the cream croquet was luscious. It wasn't the crab cream croquet but I was expecting a standard potato croquet so this was a pleasant surprise. I've also had the mille feuille katsu and a few other items and they've all been great. Just be sure to get there early because they'll pack everything to go after 5 or 5:30 pm (I forgot the exact time.)
Nice Japanese restaurant. Food is very flavorful. Service is outstanding. Strongly recommend.
This is a really good Japanese cutlet! Ordered the Mille katsu and man is this a juicy and crispy cutlet. This set has everything, rice, miso, salad, and the cutlet. Very good price for a full meal. Even the spicy mustard (karashi) is awesome. So far I been twice but I ordered the same thing cause it's so good. Its even better when your done to grab some more grub from the grocery store.
I’ve been to their beautiful El Segundo dine-in branch. Note this branch only does take-out. The sando ($9) was nice, but I recommend their rice set versions.

Family had (2) chicken katsu set & (1) Pork Curry Katsu set. The meat was quality and the panko done right 🙌🥰🙏 The shredded cabbage with the onion/daikon sauce was very good. The miso was good as well... The brunch hot the spot👍
I tried their katsu sando and it was AMAZING! The bread was moist and soft, the seasoning was just the right amount, and the katsu was next level. The meat was thick yet super tender, and of course, it was very flavorful. I’m sure their other menu items will be super good too. I highly recommend this shop!!!

After pick up my son, he always requested to have lunch here. He loves Chicken Katsu with Curry. Oh..man, he finished every drop of Curry.
Regular loin cutlet at a good price . They also have Demi glaze sauce on the side or curry sauce. Generous portion of cabbage underneath. Bit of a wait due to take out orders.
This spot made for the perfect quick brunch. I got the Katsu Filet set. My wife got the Lion Katsu set. All were good, the only issue was they forgot the dressing for the shredded cabbage. Once I got that sorted, it was enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the food here. The cutlet was juicy and crispy. The rice was really good and the service was awesome. I look forward to coming back. Keep in mind this location is within a market so dining is cafeteria style but there's plenty of seating

I had the tonkatsu (pork) set with rice and miso. Overall the food is a 3.9/5, by no means is a bad score. If you are within a 15-20 min drive this place I definitely recommend checking it out, the store that this spot is in has a great variety of Japanese imported goods which is worth exploring on its own. The crispness of the cutlet is a 3.5/5. Overall the flavor of the curry is good with a very little hint of spice. It’s not a wait to be seated place. The location has a separate area if you want to sit down and enjoy the food there. Atmosphere does do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to the meal . Food is worth its price, but doesn’t standout in a particular way that will make you want to come back for the curry alone, you won’t be disappointed by any means.

I ordered Tonkatsu and chicken Katsu. Both meat was tough. 😢 the inside of the tonkatsu was brown.
The food was average. The katsu sauce was more like BBQ (not my favorite). You can usually win me over with the sides, but they weren't to my taste 🤷🏾♀️

Terrible first-time experience here. I do not recommend. Sunday morning around 11 am during Memorial weekend. And the front-desk staff looks like he never wants to be there in the first thing in the morning. Pretty sluggish and gave us bare minimum service. Probably wasted yesterday night. All good we ordered our food, received and go to table to eat. At the end we came back for a to-go box for the rice, and we transferred them over. Another front staffer a lady was not happy and said "go put your dirty bowls at the trash cans. Behind YOU!" yelling tone. Well... Hey guys, it's our first time. We not familiar with your setup alright. And it's not brunch-lunch rush time yet, you got all your staffers prepared and no customer line waiting. Maybe you can take your time to understand we are not the usual locals. And help guiding instead of waiting for us to make a mistake then start yelling. That just looks bad on your team alright. Be intimidating = asking for worse customers Be nice be good. We all human. Good luck young men and ladies. Come to work with less attitude otherwise better get a different positions...
