Wonderful! Local cuisine beautifully presented with a variety of local drinks, from Sherry to Carajillo. A seasonal menu is offered, too. It's a must go if you are anywhere close in South Spain.

It’s worth the drive. We saw this place, an hour away from our accommodation, and decided to make the journey. What a delightful contrast to all of the poor quality food you find on the coast. Thank you for brightening our trip!

This is an intimate Michellin star restaurant in Gaucin so make sure you book! The views from the terrace are gorgeous and the food is divine. The prices definitely don't reflect the Michellin star so be prepared to be pleasantly surprised by the bill!

Driving through Gaucin on way to Ronda and found this place for lunch. What a lovely, unexpected surprise it turned out to be. Amazing food, welcoming service and a table with views to die for. Great value as well. Can’t recommend highly enough

Amazing meal and fantastic service. Probably the best meal we had in Gaucin and very fairly priced. Fancy without being ridiculous! Tasty and well presented food. Super views from the terrace. And the chef's homemade liqueur was to die for!

Even though we were just looking for a coffee, we ended up having a 3 course lunch here, just because it was so awesome. From the perfect service of the owners of this place (speaking easily more than 4 languages) to a really nice atmosphere, we really enjoyed our time here. Unfortunately the terrace was closed due to the cold weather in late November but sitting inside was just fine with nice touches of wood everywhere. The best though was probably the food itself with a great selection of different foods on the menu, everything interesting and a bit off the beaten track. I chose a Tomate tartar with goat cheese as a starter and had a venison stew with sweet potato and celeriac as a main. Everything was just great! Would definitely come back every time and wish the owners all the best for the future.

A truly outstanding experience! The service was attentive and engaging, the food was simply divine. We had a couple of dishes from the normal menu and I ordered the pork cheeks from the specials. Wow! The wine was incredibly reasonably priced and beautiful. The standard was very high indeed and at the end of the meal, the owner came to offer us one of three wonderful home made aperitifs. It was everything I look for in a restaurant, my wife and I had a superb evening and hope to return to the area to sample this top-level hospitality again soon!

A delicious gem of a restaurant. Hellen and Barry are a great team; service is warm and friendly and the food is delightful. Beautiful flavour combinations duck with beetroot and apple, chicken with pistachios and every plate looked like a work of art. Wine list is excellent with plenty of local choice. Only a handful of tables so you must book ahead. Highly recommend!

A beautiful little restaurant with a panoramic terrace - and just a few outside tables. Reservations are a must but the quality of the food, the service and value for money is second to none. A real treat. The best confit duck I’ve ever tasted (and it’s one of my favourite things in life!), my husband was converted to aubergines so good were they and the choices from the daily specials as well as the normal menu were amazing. It just such a treat to dine here. Congrats to Barry and Helen for this little gem.

Fantastic little Restaurant. Both food and service are amazing. The atmosphere is almost family like as there is only place for around 15 people at once. Upon leaving, we immediately reserved a table again.

What a fantastic restaurant from the moment you walk through the door until you leave the service is amazing. The food was so tasty, well cooked and presented. The choice of wines was also first class. Local ingredients are used and really show of the season. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to any who wants a truly special meal.

A culinary island was created on the small cosy terrace with a wonderful view of the Sierra Crestellina and the Sierra de Grazalema. We were impressed by the excellent advice, the very good service, the mainly regional products and the great cooking. We will definitely be back!

This is a small and high quality restaurant in a beautiful setting. The couple who run it make one feel at home with a cheerful reception and personal service. The food is good value and first class (Michelin guide Bib) and the total dining experience is one of the best I have ever experienced.

Simply fabulous. Relaxed atmosphere, stunning views from the terrace and exceptionally tasty food at very reasonable prices (for such quality). We travelled to Gaucín from the hustle and bustle of Marbella. Gaucín is beautiful. The air is fresh and the scenery is truly spectacular, and Platero is an oasis of gastronomic delight. From the moment you walk through the door there is a very genuine welcome. Nothing is hurried, Hellen is happy to walk you through the menu, answer any questions, and make recommendations. We had a perfect lunch ( 4 courses plus wine) : confit duck & foie gras, plus red prawns & bulgar salad. We both had the rack of lamb for our main , which was outstanding. The homemade desserts were also delicious. A standout experience of our Andalusian trip. Make a reservation. You won't be disappointed!

It was truly a surprising find in an unassuming little town. The staff were extremely friendly, explaining the dishes to us and helping us with our order. We ordered a salad and smoked beef as starters, followed by lamb rack and duck breast as main courses. Literally, every dish was delicious, especially the lamb rack—it was incredibly tender and flavorful! The homemade bread spread was also delicious. This is my favorite restaurant during my travels in Andalusia.

Truly special experience, the food is exceptional, many local wine options, the mountain views are breathtaking and the service is amazing. It was so wonderful we went twice in the same trip, once for lunch and once for dinner. Every dish was memorable, figs in season were divine, duck exceptional, lamb and fish wonderful too. 5+ experience, extra points for making my brother’s birthday more special. Such a fabulous inexpensive lunch with a glorious view to boot! A warm welcome by the Dutch hosts and a splendid choice of starters and mains to choose from. I enjoyed the lightly salted cod and my husband had the rack of lamb which he said was the best he’d tasted in years! The house wine was delicious and very reasonable. Ben je in of rond Gaucín – of gewoon op doorreis – dan is dit restaurant een absolute aanrader. Je geniet er van heerlijk eten op een sfeervol terras met een adembenemend uitzicht. De menukaart is verrassend en goed samengesteld, en er staan heerlijke wijnen op de wijnkaart. Tip van het huis: probeer zeker de Kir Royal! De bediening is vriendelijk, persoonlijk en zorgt ervoor dat je je meteen welkom voelt. Dit is zo’n plek waar je een (vakantie) herinnering opdoet die je niet snel vergeet – zowel qua smaak als sfeer.

What a find. Just happened upon Platero & Co today, and what a joy it was. It was flawless- the food, the service, the atmosphere, the location. It all starts with a warm welcome from the hosts and continues with delicious food, understated attention to diners’ comfort and enjoyment -and a beautiful view! We have enjoyed some lovely meals during 2 weeks in Southern Spain, but this really stood out on so many fronts. We will be back.

Simply the most delicious, high quality meal we have had in a long time. It was honestly that good. Small restaurant, which you need to book in advance. They have only 6 tables on the balcony with a great view of the northern valleys. White gazpacho with prawns my wife was stunned how this was, my main - beef entrecôte. We rarely have dessert but this time we did and we’re not disappointed

Hacia tiempo que no conseguía coger mesa, buena comida y relación calidad/precio. Cocina mediterránea, donde a pesar de su pequeña carta hay variedad para todos los gustos. Hay que reconocer el buen hacer en la cocina que se sustenta principalmente en los productos de la comarca. Las carnes en su perfecto punto de cocción acompañadas de guarniciones que se agradece no caigan en la monotonía de las patatas fritas, principalmente acompañan con verduras elaboradas con muy buena mano. También cabe destacar el buen servicio de la sala. Buena variedad de vinos pudiendo elegir varios por copas. Por sacar algo malo diría que es difícil coger mesa ya que solo dan servicio a 3 ó 4 mesas, por lo que sin reserva previa es imposible, pero también hay que reconocer que un número tan reducido de mesas hace que el servicio sea atento y rápido.

De primero ensalada de la huerta, que estuvo riquísima y bien presentada, pedimos también confit de pato muy rico, aunque en otras ocasiones lo he comido más jugoso que este, de sabor si estaba muy bueno; pedimos otro segundo que fue carre de cordero, cierto es que estaba bueno, aunque no era lechal, si tenía buen cocinado y presentación. Tiene carta de postres caseros, pedí granacha de chocolate con helado de praliné, muy rico. Tuvieron el detalle de invitarnos a licor casero. Muy buena presentación y atención

It looks quite pleasant from outside,but unfortunately the staff are some of the rudest I have ever encountered. We asked to have a quick coffee at the start of the dinner service (zero customers) and they told us to leave without a word of apology or kindness. I would discourage anybody from going there unless you enjoy being made to feel like an unwelcome distraction for the employees.

Avoid this place, they are SUPER unprofessional and unfriendly!! Although open for Lunch they shoved us out the door right away and claimed they are fully booked (off-season). If you are looking for a nice Lunch/coffee place, just around the corner there‘s Paco Pepe, a cute bar/restaurant with a lovely outdoor place with a fountain -> this is the true gem of this beautiful city!

So disappointed! Booked this and clearly asked about it being child friendly as we bring our daughter to restaurants all over the world. They said yes but " no high chairs, no childrens menu."Neither are an issue for us but the vibe was clearly" we don't want children " then just say it! When I ENQUIRED about changing my booking to lunch rather than dinner, I was sent a short email " your booking has been cancelled" so rude! We eat in amazing restaurants all over the world, I did think this restaurant menu was pretty boring and frankly the competition is non existent. It wouldn't take much more than a chef with a bit if imagination to knock this place of the water. Guys its a bib , not star!! Don't let it go to your head. Next time I'm in town happy to have cook off I'm very confident I'd knock you clean out the park.

Wij kwamen aan en 'iemand' (de kom) vertelde dat hij helemaal volgeboekt was, terwijl we niemand zagen of hoorden. Ik reageerde met een in Nederland niet zo'n heel vreemde opmerking, 'shit'. Dit als teleurstelling omdat ik er graag wilde eten. Hij zei er gelijk overheen "you are Dutch" en hij liep bij de deur weg. In Nederland zeggen we dat hij hooghartig is. Geen gastheer vind ik. Ik kom niet meer terug!

No fuesen a ser niños mal educados y tal vez molestar o incluso quien sabe romper una copa o un plato en un descuido no calleramos en tal desgracia... Nos dijo que estaban completos pero conozco el local de otra veces que he ido con otros propietarios. Asome la cabeza lo que pude y se veía vacío. La terraza la cual vi desde la carretera también vacía. El pueblo estaba vacío. Seguro las mascotas si son bienvenidas xq esta de moda eso de ser Pet friendly y llevar a las mascotas de compras a las tiendas y a los bares. Pero los niños ahí los niños molestan en todas partes... Recuerden que ustedes tb fueron niños. Tb pueden que hallan tenido hijos, ya criados y se les haya olvidado que de ellos depende el futuro. De este país y del mundo entero y que esta principalmente en la familia el formarlos y educarlos. A ellos se les exige respeto y educación hacia los mayores. la pregunta es. ¿Tenemos los mayores respeto educación y empatia hacia los NIÑOS? Ahí se lo dejo señor chef para que recapacite un poco antes de dejar a una familia sin comer, vayan a molestar los críos... Por cierto comimos genial en el bar pajuelo Álvaro es un crack. Seguro las mascotas si son bienvenidas xq esta de moda eso de ser Pet friendly y llevar a las mascotas de compras a las tiendas y a los bares. Pero los niños ahí los niños molestan en todas partes... Recuerden que ustedes tb fueron niños. Tb pueden que hallan tenido hijos, ya criados y se les haya olvidado que de ellos depende el futuro. De este país y del mundo entero y que esta principalmente en la familia el formarlos y educarlos. A ellos se les exige respeto y educación hacia los mayores. la pregunta es. ¿Tenemos los mayores respeto educación y empatia hacia los NIÑOS? Ahí se lo dejo señor chef para que recapacite un poco antes de dejar a una familia sin comer, vayan a molestar los críos... Por cierto comimos genial en el bar pajuelo Álvaro es un crack. Atento, amable, buena comida y seguro mucho más económica aunque tal vez menos elaborada. Salud
