Dos Salsas Georgetown Reviews
We stopped here for breakfast on our way back to Dallas from Austin. What a great find. The food was amazing, the tortillas were soft and fluffy, the salsas were fresh and delicious and the service was great!
Update: I wish this place would adhere to health code violations. It was my absolute favorite place. The first time I was aware of the health department shutting them down for a lengthy period I was disappointed but thought that being more aware and the amount of business lost during closure would Dos Salsas would certainly have learned their lesson. I went back and was happy to enjoy my favorite restaurant again. Unfortunately, they did not learn a thing. Since then, Dos Salsas has since been closed a few more times by the health department. I will not be going back there. I hope that a restaurant similar to Dos Salsas would open in Georgetown so I can once enjoy great Tex-Mex and margaritas in a place that does not violate the Health Department health code. Original review: Everything I’ve tasted has been delicious. Great margaritas, chips are fresh and warm, and both salsa options are great. Love to dine on the patio, especially when we are lucky enough to have Juan serve us.
For some reason, this location tastes 10X better than other locations.
Reopened and yummy as always! We have been eating at Dos for about 20 years! Never had any issues! Great service, delicious food and drinks!
The Georgetown location is a local institution. Excellent food, wonderful staff along with fast and friendly service makes this our go to for TexMex cuisine! Beef fajita nachos are the bomb! Skinny margarita rocks! You won’t be disappointed.
Best place in the area. Always kind service. The fajitas are amazing and so are the breakfast tacos. The staff feel like family. Wish I could visit daily.
I have been here multiple times and never been disappointed! The food is amazing with an excellent atmosphere and the staff consistently goes above and beyond in helping make each visit exceptional.
As always, this is the best Mexican Restaurant in town!! Voted "The Best of Georgetown" since 2011 and for good reason. The drinks and food are awesome and the staff and owner are exceptional people!
We've been coming here for 20 years. In that time, there have only been a couple of times when the food has been inferior. It has good food, service, and margaritas. Right now (Jan 2025), they seem to be having a cook and management problem leading to inconsistencies. This place is still our go-to place in Georgetown. I'd recommend it!!!
Great Local TexMex. Friendly staff. Clean facility
My husband and I love eating here. It's hands down our favorite restaurant in Georgetown. Not only is the food always good but we've never had bad service here. The staff always make us feel so relaxed. Anytime we want to treat ourselves to a meal out, we always agree on Dos Salsas!
Always polite and prompt service along with their excellent Mexican food. We have to alternate when we go each time to make sure to get our favorites from both their brunch and lunch menus.
This restaurant earns its high rating with so many reviews. It is great food for a great price. The sweet tea is tasty, too! After having just visited the Inner Space Caverns I was incredibly thirsty. After the 3rd refill our attentive waitress brought me a bigger cup. She kept our drinks and chips topped off. It has nice patio seating for days when it's pleasant outside. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area!
Awesome place to eat with your family and friends and I recommend this restaurant.
First time at this Dos Salsas. The service was great from the time we enter this establishment to the time we ordered our meal. The food came out quick, hot, and ready to be eaten. Loved it. We will definetly return.
Moved from Austin to Georgetown. Never really went anywhere in Georgetown before but need to find local spot so I don’t have to drink. I didn’t have a chance to get a margarita but I did enjoy the enchiladas. I will update when I go back. Other than that, the service was good and would recommend. Parking can be a pain a little if they are busy.
I was in Georgetown for a conference & wanted to eat some where other than the restaurant located in the hotel. We ventured out and tried this restaurant. It was DEFINETLY worth driving out in the heat for this place! Staff was friendly & fast. Portions were huge and very savory. I am very picky about Spanish rice and I was surprisingly pleased with the texture and flavor. The cocktails were also worth the short drive.
The dos salsas (red and green) brought to the table were nice and spicey. Chips were thin and crispy. Great start. I got the Chili Rellenos with beef. The Rellenos was good, but the best thing on the plate were the refried beans. My Poblanos was tough... maybe it was too old? but it was thick and hard to chew. It has a good taste though and the sauce smothering it was smokey. I would try them again if we pass through town a second time.
Love Dos Salsa ! Been to two of their locations and have never been disappointed ! Both of the salsa’s they serve are delicious and the chips are thin and crispy. I’ve eaten enchiladas, fajitas, chile verde, tacos, ceviche , you name it, I’ve tried it here. All was delicious ! Stop in and grab a bite ! You won’t be disappointed !!!
It's very nice place lot of room their bar has lot of options and food is delicious
Always excellent food and usually excellent service. Definitely the best texmex in Georgetown. My personal recommendations are the enchiladas suizas; brisket, cheese or beef rellanos (in that order) and replace the rice and beans with the grilled vegetables -they're excellent. Although most people who like rice do like their's, I'm not a rice guy. The Mexican martinis are excellent and fajitas are good too.
Wow! Great Carnitas tacos plate, stuffed full of tender seasoned pork accompanied with Spanish rice and delicious, chunky charro beans. The lettuce, onions and jalapenos topped off the tacos well but made them almost too large to fold over and fit in my mouth. My wife had the beef fajita taco salad without the taco shell and described it as one of the very best she has ever eaten...and that's quite the compliment! Whoever can't find something good at this restaurant just doesn't know good food. Now I know why the parking lot is always overflowing, although we didn't have to wait to be seated at 6:15PM on a Wednesday evening.
Cute little locally owned spot with friendly service and yummy food. My tostadas were $9.99 on the lunch special. You have a choice of soup or salad with it and I love tortilla soup, so I got that. The salad might’ve been good with a less salady dish. The other cool thing they do is give you queso instead of those perfunctory refried beans nobody ever eats. So quick review: good food, great service and you automatically get queso!
Okay this place literally has it all from pancakes to huevos divorciados and omelets! The food is so fresh and bursting with flavor. The patio is so nice and the server was very friendly and attentive. I was here for breakfast and we almost went back for dinner too! It's that good!
First time visiting Austin, Texas. And I made sure to try the Tex- Mex tacos. I decided to give Des Salaas Tex- Mex Restaurant a try and I wasn’t disappointed. Everything I ordered tasted absolutely yum!!! I highly recommend Good Service ✅ Courteous Staff✅ ♿️Wheelchair Accessible Entrance✅ 🚻Restroom ♿️Wheelchair Accessible Parking✅
Classic Georgetown tex mex. We are regulars for years. Best nachos. Great margaritas. Patio is our favorite anytime its nice enough out for it to be open.
I had Memo’s tacos during lunch today, and they were absolutely delicious! What truly made the experience phenomenal, however, was our server, Norma. She was incredibly attentive, offered great recommendations, checked in on us regularly, and was genuinely friendly throughout. A fantastic example of excellent service!
Tortilla soup was different but very good. Enchiladas were great, very generous lunch portions. My only complaint is a lack of hot salsa. It's relative, we prefer to sweat a bit 😀
This is a great Mexican food restaurant! Compact, but very efficient with patio area. Parking is limited, so plan for a walk to. The service is genuine and exceptional to the customer. Had a short wait time. The food was GREAT!! Scratch made quality including the salsa. 😋 The margarita and martini are drinks you will want to have an enjoy. I loved my chicken chimchanga.
Taquito plate was highly suggested by our server and she was not wrong, best plate I've ever had from there. Basicly 4 different street tacos topped with cilantro and onions, delicious guac salsa on the side, and served with charro beans. Paired that with their Memos Rita, not cheap, but a great top shelf margarita. It was all so good, gonna be hard to choose anything else next time!
We had a large party of 10 in there this afternoon. Our server was amazing! We had drinks, food and extras fast and accurate. The staff were all organized and extremely efficient. We will be back many times in the future.
Always delicious. Wide variety of food. Lots of space lots of places to sit. Very enjoyable and fantastic staff. Great meals great drinks. Can dine in or out. Lots of parking but when busy you may have to walk a little since it's off the Georgetown square. Located right on highway 29 also known as u's University boulevard just past Austin Avenue. Our favorite meal is pechuga la crema.
THE fastest service - it's actually kinda impressive how quick and accurate the service is! The staff is super friendly - the food is good - the place is clean and the prices reasonable. The atmosphere is just average but the friendly staff and good good make up for it. It's a solid Mexican restaurant.
I’ve driven by this place dozens of times but had never gone inside until the other day. I’m so happy I did at last! The service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere lively and fun, and the food was the kind of comfort Mex and TexMex food I grew up with — delicious! I got the puerco en mole, pork carnitas cooked in mole sauce, and it came with rice, beans, and guacamole. Yummy!!! On the way out, I got a pecan praline, and it was the perfect ending to a great experience.
We love this place, we’ve been 3 times (once for pickup) since moving to Georgetown and we’ve never been disappointed. Staff is super friendly and provide incredible, quick service. The food on the menu is great, and the margaritas are exceptional. Definitely a must-visit place in the area. Well worth it!
Excellent mexican restaurant for tex mex I got the one of the tex mex entree and i think it was the 3rd one on the menu. It was good and very filling. The refried beans were good and enchilada was excellent. Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Right amount of cheese on top. Complementary salsa was good. I really like sauces they have given us. The bar area looks really cool. I think it is good for hang out place with friends. It kinda give me a vibe of old american chinese restaurant but still good. I highly recommend for the tex mex. I wanna try one of their taco plates as well.
Our party of 3 visited on a Sunday around 1pm a few weeks ago since we were visiting the area and I am so glad we did! There was no wait when we arrived and were seated immediately. We had a great server which unfortunately I forgot his name but he was attentive and fast! We got our drinks pretty quickly, a coke, lemonade, and a margarita - that margarita was delicious and had the right amount of alcohol in it. To eat I had Memos Special, my husband the chimichanga, and my son had the taco plate. All came in large portions and smelled incredible. The food was delicious!!! Can't say anything bad about it. Food, ambiance, service - all top notch. Will def visit again when we're back in the area.
After moving to Georgetown, I visited this restaurant the most. Mexican Martini is their most famous cocktail. This one drink can knock you out. Most of the menu is good. A bit on the pricier end. Not a fan of their ambience. Could be maintained well. No good deals on their happy hour menu. The food is tasty and served with warmth.
Came here twice in the same week. First was breakfast, not a lot of people inside which is surprising. I was greeted warmly and could sit anywhere I wanted. Coffee was good and came when I ran low. I…

Amazing chilaquiles verde with shredded chicken and add fried egg on top \n\nGreat service fast fresh and polite and friendly thanks Zyntnia for making my visit great!
always delicious food! Best breakfast in town for sure. Tina's pancakes are by greatest ever! friendly and kind employees here.
Great place for breakfast! Had the Machacado plate. It was a lot of food and delicious!! Tina was a very friendly and attentive server.
Food and service were outstanding! So happy it is open for breakfast again. Tina is the best!
We have come here for over 25 years. Always great food and family environment. The best drink Mexican martini no cup

Came here on Christmas Eve to celebrate a birthday and even though they don’t take reservations, we got given a long table for 9 people because we came at 11:30 am! There were already a few people there. The service was excellent; the waitstaff were all friendly and welcoming with their great smiles. The margaritas were jolly good and so was the food that came in big plates. The queso and chips were the best!… the waiters all came and sang a raucous Happy birthday which was fabulous! We will be back!
Big portions, everything is big there. Food was good and decent prices.
food was excellent, however the waiter's seemed a little bit frustrated with one another. the food was excellent! had the chicken fajita quesadillas!
Great Mexican food! Depending on day of the week and time, it could be a 45 minute to 1 hour wait.
Customer service is good but feels rigid. Food is ok.
Ordered beef fajitas. Did not disappoint. Waitress was a bit pushy but it's hard to find a good tex mex place that does more than Chipotle(gross).
The staff is very attentive, the food is always great, the atmosphere is large and there is plenty of seating but the parking lot is alittle small so get there early:)
Nice place and great service. Most of the time the food is good, sometimes it's just ok. Really limited parking spaces is their biggest fault
Went for breakfast a couple times. Decent but a little unimpressive. Good coffee, tho
My first time trying the food here. The portions even for take out can feed maybe three people. You definitely get your monies worth here. The potatoes were a little undercooked but I loved that they did not go cheap on the nopales. The nopales slices were a good size. I would come again to try a lunch or dinner.

Not a good lunch. Salsa was bad, Charo beans undercooked, beef enchiladas were no where close to past experiences at restaurant that we normally love. Hoping that they aren't changing recipes to save money Will be a long time before we go back 1 lunch enchilada plate..1 carne Gasada. Two teas..$47...wow.
Ordered the favorito which was a plate of 1/2 carne guisada & 1/2 puerco en guajillo y ancho, rice, black beans and a guacamole salad in a mini round taco shell. Husband ordered the Texas burger and it was huge with a full plate of fries. Food was AMAZING and almost brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me of growing up back home in the RGV. Food came out pretty fast too. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is for service....the ppl were nice, but very rush rush and could barely wait till we were done packing up our leftovers to come tell us our total and ask for payment. Then stuck out the phone for me to tap and give a tip, just very pushy to get the payment and rush us out. Next time I'll probably order take out I don't want to be rushed when I dine in somewhere.
I took my bf here for dinner and we had been to another location in Austin before. The food here was not great. The shrimp my bf ordered didn’t appear to be cooked all the way. The chicken for the fajita was extremely dry. I had a burrito and my chicken was dry as well and not really seasoned. The customer service was amazing I will say that. I probably won’t return to this location because I remember the one in Austin we went to the food just tasted better.
Used to visit this location a lot for breakfast.. til the other locations opened up.. so far CP and Domain location have been great, food and service alike.. Today, service wasn't that great and food fell short.. the Bloody Mary I ordered was the worst one I've had.. barely touched it.. Disappointing visit today..

Gringo dip, salad with shrimp and chips are all salt less. This seems very intentional! Had to literally season all my food! Tres leches and margs on the rocks were amazing!
I prefer the one in Domain; the one in Georgetown was full of bird poop, and the tables were dirty.
I ordered grilled pork chops with eggs this morning pork chops were very thin and tough enough I couldn't cut without a lot of force with the steak knife. Finally ate last one caveman style. Waitress dropped plate off then did not return to my table or they would have gone back. All my friends enjoy coming here but my 4th visit and not impressed.
Cramped, low light, loud, tex-mex restaurant. If you like the taste of soggy, undercooked tortillas and melted cheddar cheese, this place might be for you. Beans tasted like they were straight from a can with a pit-stop at the microwave. Rice was underwhelming. Something was off. I couldn't figure it out, but I figured it was reheated from a bag. This place is about as mediocre as it gets for a tex-mex pile of slop on a plate.
Margaritas were good, food was just okay but the service was terrible. Waiter never came back to check on our food, we had to wave him down to get our bill.
I decided to dine at this restaurant based on the reviews and star rating, but that’s not the whole story. The ambience was good, and the crowd was lively since it was a Friday evening, but the food was disappointing. I ordered a chicken fajita, and the meat was overcooked and tasted like old meat. My wife ordered a chicken tamale, which wasn’t great either. However, the drink I had was good and flavorful.

found a whole bunch of black particles in my drink after I finish drinking it nasty server said it looked like they mixed it with tea I was like there's no way tea not black like that. Plus the server had an attitude will never go there again food was mediocre at best.... didn't charge me for the drink wow I think they could have done a little better than that.... stay away from this nasty place
Not very welcoming. Plus, there is an obvious distinction in treatment depending on the customer walking in. Food was unsavory and bland. However, the waitress was nice. I'll definitely skip this place out.
Food is great But and it’s a Big but, my sister pointed out a roach running across the wall as we were waiting for our check. Makes me sad cuz I loved dos salsas but that will be my last time :(
I have noticed from the past 2 years the food has definitely declined. My husband and I went today for the last time. I ordered the chicken fajita tacos plate and my husband ordered the beef fajita plate. The chicken fajitas tasted not only bland but more like frozen grilled chicken. As far as the beef fajitas that was worse. You would expect them to taste like real fajitas they were not and bland as well. The beans sad to say no flavor as well. We have been here in the past and the food was great. Unfortunately not anymore 😕
They don't want to answer the phone calls anymore and when you order online there's always extra fee for it which I don't think we should be paying for that. It is the service that they are providing.
I always come for the Mexican Martini but this time they weren’t tasting as before. I was disappointed I bought my family for the first time and I was telling them how good they were and they disappointed me so much.
Jamaica and Horchata served warm. Quesadillas and Tacos lacked flavor. It’s more of a bland taste so add salsa when you go. We were the only ones there on a weekend at 2:30pm. The server was disengaged and was going through the motions. I recommend the chips and salsa!
This place is so disorganized and all the servers never smile, the food is gross, the drinks are WAY to sweet, I’ve gotten food poisoning, this place was shut down for like 4 months by the health department. I can’t keep pretending that this place is good.
Service was genuinely great, which makes this even more disappointing. The food however was absolutely terrible. Not just mid, genuinely bad. Everything tasted cheap and low quality. The ingredients tasted like the absolute lowest tier possible, and it shows. Even the agua frescas were bad, watered down, artificial tasting, obviously made with some sort of powder. I had high hopes because the place is always busy and gives off an authentic vibe, but this was not it. Even by basic Tex Mex standards, the food was shockingly low quality. Busy does not equal good. It honestly feels like they’re cutting corners wherever possible, and customers can taste it. What makes this even more frustrating is that I spent $40 on two dishes and two drinks. Forty dollars. For food that we barely wanted to finish. That’s my hard earned money down the drain. If you’re going to charge those prices, at least use decent ingredients! Extremely disappointed.
The food was great but the waiter took our drink orders and we didn’t see him the rest of the night. We had to flag a different girl down just to get refills. Idk how many times he walked past us and didn’t check on us once. Once we started to pay he was just sitting there shaking his head a barely spoke to us. We came from Wyoming and we were hoping to have a great experience but we did not feel welcome at all!
Had dinner last night, our server was very rude. I wish I could tell you his name, but he never introduced himself. We were seated and served drinks by someone who was not our server, and when our server did finally come to “greet” our table, he walked up, rolled his eyes, and simply said, “you ready?” And then rushed us through. Then, he forgot to take one of our orders and had to come back. That was the only time we saw him. Never came back to check on us or ask how it was. We watched him greet several other tables much more lively, and repeatedly. He checked on them, but never us. When we finished our meals and needed boxes, we waited 15 min before we had to FLAG HIM DOWN to ask and it still took about 5 min to come over to our table and ask “what?” Then my physical card wouldn’t work on the payment terminal (there’s no chip) he started shaking his head and tapping his feet. The food was good, but the service was trash. Thank you to the girl who kept our drinks full. You’re the only reason I tipped our server even $5 after he hardly stopped by our table at all.

Georgetown's Heartbeat: Dos Salsas Delivers Flavor and Friendship
Folks, there’s a spot right here in Georgetown that consistently pops up when you ask locals where to grab truly great Mexican food. I’m talking about Dos Salsas, a vibrant place that many consider the absolute best in town. And honestly, after hearing what folks are saying, it’s not hard to see why it’s earned such a loyal following. What really sets Dos Salsas apart, beyond the delicious food, is the incredible service. You know how sometimes a server just *gets* it? Well, at Dos Salsas, it...
Dos Salsas: Georgetown's Mexican Gem is Back and Better Than Ever
