Best wings in Buffalo! The double dip is fantastic.

I am from Massachusetts, we came to Buffalo NY to see the Niagara Falls. We checked for lunch options and ended up finding Elmos! The atmosphere is great and service was wonderful 10/10 for the lady that was handling all by herself! The wings are DELICIOUS and I recommend the recommendation of double sauce of cajun and honey mustard!

My husband and I stopped in here last Thursday evening because of all the positive reviews, and we were in the area. We were sat promptly. Our waitress Nancy was friendly, she smiled, checked on us at just the right moments. I ordered the Cajun chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly. Next time, I'm going to try the double dip with hot sauce and Cajun. My husband ordered a beef on weck. He said the roast beef was very good. There's a nice size bar here as well, and dining was near the bar, but separate.

Fantastic chicken wings! Met up with a long lost friend over wings and beers. The 40 years since we've seen each other melted away instantly and the wings were the icing on the cake!

Waitress was very friendly and professional. Ordered 40 pieces of buffalo wings for five people. Cajun + Honey mustard double dip and medium spicy wings. Also fried mozzarella cheese and french fries. Fries were not salty at all and also the wings were perfect. I tried few wings at other restaurants but I personally think this is one of the best places to have beers with wings! The vibe of the pub was comfortable and authentic. I will try other dishes for next visit. Canadian draft beer was also very light. 😎

Best wings I've ever had. First time to Buffalo and father in-law took us here. I got the double dipped hot/Cajun and they were delicious. Great onion rings too! Service was attentive and friendly.

Elmo's Restaurant and Bar is a wonderful experience. Everything from their excellent service to pricing. The restaurant has a excellent assortment of food choices that allows plenty to share with others that join you. It's a very clean and comfortable setting with a wide range of choices in beer or alcohol selection. I went there with other military veterans and received a wonderful discount with proof of service. Their chicken wings and selection were awesome and the nachos were fabulous. I highly recommend this neighborhood restaurant and bar no matter what neighborhood you live in.

Wings here are mind blowing! Best you'll ever have. Get em grilled and hot. Meaty, but fall off the bone and spiced to perfection. Service was excellent the evening we stopped in.

The double dipped honey mustard/chipotle was really good. I'm a huge duffs fan. The hot wings didn't do it for me. They were better than most pizza shops for sure. Overall a great experience.

Great place to stop for chicken wings! The honey mustard are delicious and full of flavor. Our lunch was so good we had to get an order to go to eat later! It’s not a fancy place but it’s super consistent.

This is a super low key dive with a real "neighborhood bar" atmosphere. The wings are good, and the side of fries is more of a family size portion. I'd definitely return if there weren't 10 other wing places I want to try.

This place was respectfully “bussin”. I’m not a huge wing guy but a rabbit hole of blogs led me here while on a short overnight in Buffalo. Had to see what them wings were about. They did not disappoint, and quite possibly changed my life forever. The perfect balance of size, crispness, sauce, and meat made these things to die for. Apparently this place is well known to locals, but I’m glad I skipped out on Anchor Bar and Duffs for this hole in the wall. Side note, the tracy fry is BANGING but is way too much for one person to eat.

I am on a custom wing tour with my 10 year old son. This place takes the crown. Service is amazing, wings came out perfect (Cajun honey mustard double dipped and medium) the quesadillas were QUALITY.

Having Buffalo wings in a legit Buffalo bar should be on every foodies list. This spot should be at the top of that list. After graduating from UB thirty years ago, some great places have disappeared. This place pulls no stops in bringing the best wings to the table. Driving from Brooklyn to Buffalo, my kids and I settled in at the Marriott. A stones throw away, this unassuming little bar fulfilled our goal. Double dip Cajun/ bbq wings, and a medium Buffalo chicken salad were a perfect way to end the long drive. Gives La Nova some stiff competition.

Delicious wings, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Did takeout for this order and got BBQ & medium wings and they’re almost as good as eating them in the restaurant. Great spot conveniently located near U of Buffalo

Limited menu but what they do they do great. Drove 20 minutes for the wings & well worth it. Ordered 30 wings in three different flavors & they were perfectly cooked. Throwing them on the grill enhanced their flavor. The double-dip of hot/bbq was outstanding. Going to try double-dipping more flavors next time. They serve real carrots, not the minis in the bag. Great happy hour pitcher prices too. Can't remember servers name but he was outstanding. They're #1 on my wing list. Not many tables & a bit dimly lit though.

No doubt here once you have the double dipped wings as to why Elmo's is featured on the Buffalo/Niagara Wing Trail. Their wings hit all the marks with size, flavors, and how they're cooked, especially with their signature double dipped process. Establishment itself has a nice feel with a small inside, a bar, and some nice Buffalo memorabilia. This is a must visit on the wing trail and one of my favorites on it.

I used to have to spend time in Buffalo for work. Every visit I would check off more places on the "best buffalo wings" list. I've been to about 10 or so and this place is my #1.

I got BBQ Cajun double dipped. Tasted like a cookout wings with the little char bits. So delicious. We also got regular hot wings to try out.

Doubled dipped BBQ and medium wings were super tasty! Our server was phenomenal and took care of us so well. She was running the whole place and took the time to talk to us, give more wing trail recommendations and even gave us a free t shirt. Great place and very happy stopped in!

Beef on weck was tasty! Nice and salty, just how I like it! We also got the buffalo chicken salad, very good portion. Medium wings had great flavor but much smaller than other places in the area. Service was great and atmosphere was a cozy little spot. Would definitely recommend checking out Elmos if you are in the area!

We had to wait for a table for a group of 11 but called ahead. Service and food was very good for everyone. Only complaint was the music was a bit loud for conversation otherwise the atmosphere was great.

This place is a must try it you're in Buffalo, they double dip the wings bringing them to a whole new realm of chicken wing. The service we had was top notch, super friendly and on top of things. The bar could be updated a bit, with some bigger TV's for sports and maybe some more decore, but overall, this is a must try on the buffalo wing trail.

Best wings I’ve had in Buffalo. Double dipped wings are put in seasoning or sauce then fried then dipped again. They’re exquisite. Crispy and succulent, not too spicy. Many flavor options. The staff is really fun and passionate about the wings.

I had a great afternoon at Elmo's! It was before a Buffalo Bulls game, so the restaurant quickly got crowded and the kitchen took a little long. Despite this, the waiter was very apologetic and sincere, and we appreciated that. The wings were excellent, and I love the "double dip" concept. I won't say the wings are better than Bar Bill, but they are excellent, and I was very happy with my experience!

Buffalo Hot Canjun double dip a tad bit too salty but the honey one was great. Server was really lovely!!!!

Excellent wings. Got the double dipped, tried all flavors, Cajun BBQ was top class flavor. Sizes are big. Single 10 wings, double 20 wings and the wings are on the bigger side. Waitress was great and helpful for us being first time there. A must try.

Getting right to the point, the wings are hittin/solid/on point/very good. It's crazy that I worked right around the corner for years and didn't know about this place at that time. If you haven't been it's DEFINITELY WORTH GOING!! The first impression was a good one, and I look forward to going back. If you're a traditionalist, the medium was reminiscent of old school wings at most bars and at home. They were crispy and sauced good. Next time I will order some hot to give them a try. As far as specialty sauces go, that Cajun- honey mustard blend was a mini flavor bomb. Neither the Cajun or the HM were upfront in your face, nor did either play the background role, just an all around balance of two good flavors. Ironically, Cajun - HM sounds terrible, IMO. The service was ok. We could've received a bit more attention, but we were there when shifts were about to change, so I understand. If that was the norm then I would say they're lacking a bit. I'll update the review after my next visit. UPDATE: I've been back a few times since my original review and the service was very good.

Such a great spot with good beer and atmosphere! My fiancée and I stop here every year as part of our Buffalo “wing tour.” At first, the wings tasted really unique and honestly weren’t my favourite, but after a few return visits, the style of wings totally grew on me. They now rank 4th out of 8 spots on my wing list! Definitely a great spot to hit up if it isn't a Sunday!

This is bar food at its best! Easy parking. Fast service with excellent recommendations. My husband ordered the western cheeseburger. Even the bun was lightly toasted. I had the quesadilla with fries. There were LOTS of crinkled fries. My dad ordered 1/2 hot and Cajun hot which was a good balance. Learned about double dipped wings. He enjoyed them! My stepson honey mustard Cajun and hot wings. He couldn't pick a favorite. They had a nice crunch to them.

Stopped in at Elmo's based on the reviews and a couple of articles rating who has the best wings in Buffalo. My wife and I weren't disappointed. Good sized meaty wings cooked to perfection. My wife had BBQ and I had dry rubbed Cajun. Both were excellent. We had fries and mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and they were also very good. I had a local red ale which was perfect with the wings. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again. If you're on the hunt for some delicious wings, give Elmo's a try.

I heard of this place from word of mouth. The wings are hands down the best I've ever had. I've tasted wings in about 15 different states and they take the best. The service was good and quick. Pricing was very reasonable. The other patrons "regulars" were very pleasant and friendly. Even to a visitor.

I have been to Elmos 3 times already and we have been very pleased. The wings are incredible, delicious and always hot! Their french fries on the side is nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside… and a cold pitcher is the perfect combo! The service is always quick and attentive. They cajun honey mustard is our go to but the other flavors are so yummy too! I could go back every week if chicken wings wasn’t a treat and a treat only! Lol

Never heard of this place, but was told they were best wings in town, and double dipped. I'd never heard of that before, so I had to try. Bonus, not far from my house. It's a small cozy place, there was a wait for a table so we sat at the bar. Sat next to a woman who was buying 100 wings to take home to SC! She said they were the best too, and whenever she is back in town to visit, she comes and takes some home. I was really excited now. The beer selection is minimal, only 4 on tap, the rest was bottled domestic beer. The bar tender/server was really friendly and answered all our questions. On recommendation, we ordered double dipped Cajun/honey mustard, the rest med buffalo with a side of fries. It took a minute, but not too long. Let me tell you, when she brought them out I was amazed, I have never gotten wing anywhere in Buffalo where there was steam pouring off the wings, those things were so hot, temp wise, we had to wait to eat them. They were big and juicy and perfectly cooked. The fries were also hot and crispy. I will definitely be coming back here this will be my regular wing spot, bonus they are close by and the price was reasonable.

In town for a quick visit and I asked our hotel front desk for some recommendations. Elmo's was one of them and I am so glad we came. The wings were absolutely delicious 😋 another patron recommended double dip mild and Cajun and all I can say is I wish I lived closer. Must stop if you are in the neighborhood

Very unique technique for preparing wings! The double -dipped method with some griling in between makes for an added depth of flavor. At first I was put off about there not being many flavors to choose from. Once the waitress explained that I could mix-and-match each layer of the sauce, I loved being able to "customize" my wings. Ended up with a hot honey mustard that was fantastic! I look forward to my next visit, to see what other great flavor combinations we find.

Had the double dip wings. Picked Cajun and BBQ as my two flavors. The wings were top-notch. The wings were almost fall off the bone, and the skin was crispy. They had a deep smoky flavor that I loved. The blue cheese was very good as well. I will go for these wings anytime I'm in Buffalo.

Went here because of overwhelming reports about their delicious wings. Was not disappointed. Wings were outstanding! Will definitely return! The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 was that the lighting was very dark inside.

I like the cook on the wings. I'm not really sure about the double dip. I've had other sauce that I liked better. It wasn't bad, but it probably just wasn't my thing.

Not sure how this place comes in toward the tops for wings in Buffalo. Thought they were decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Ordered a basket of fries with my wings and never received them.

Decided to try this place based on the buffalo wing Trail and it was actually okay. Usually what makes a good chicken wing is the sauce and when our waitress told us it's just Frank's Red hot it was a little disappointing. Over all the wings were good. Nice size and the Cajun on the pit where nice taste. I don't know if it's true or not but I was told all this Buffalo restaurants get all their chicken wings from one supplier and that's Tyson if that's true that's good consistency on a nice jumbo wing. Downfall is the blue cheese they give you a little container where you dip for wings and you're done. As always tried the mozzarella sticks and the pizza logs pretty standard stuff let's just deep fried

The wings were pretty good, they tasted a tiny bit burnt which took away from my enjoyment. I would give them another shot though it seemed like a nice small business.

I understand the reputation Elmo’s has when it comes to wings. They were cooked perfectly. Nice and crispy but still sauced just right. I do want to try and find just the right combination and they do their double dipped. I think finding just the perfect style to your own makes a huge difference. Also, not sure what it was, but their 7up was just hitting so tight that night.

Elmo’s wings are unique and very good! Their double dipped wings are a fun twist on a classic wing. We tried honey mustard bbq, cajun bbq, and medium— the wings were cooked well and had great flavors. The charred grill flavor is not my personal favorite, but besides that, very tasty! Our only complaint is that we had to wait quite a while for our order. Definitely visit if you’re looking for a unique wing!

One of the best places for wings. I suggest Cajun with hot, Cajun with honey mustard and Cajun with bbq double dip! Always amazing wings! The bartender, I believe Rebecca, is wonderful. She is so funny and loves when you sit at a table instead of the bar! 😉😂

Great wings, but it took an hour to get my food during the Bills game. I get that it was busy, but they should be better prepared for big events. Still, the wings were tasty and worth the wait!

My wife and daughter thought the wings were the best in the world. Well let me tell you, to them everything is the best. Fried cat legs with a spoonful of sugar would make it taste great to them......... I could tell the wings were not fresh but frozen so when you cook them they're not as tender on the inside. The flavors were very good and especially the grilling of the wings was superb.

So, I had been wanting to try this place for about a year, so when my son had a track meet nearby, I decided to pickup dinner. I went on the main Google page, clicked order online and their menu came up to order on, it was not a picture of a menu, it was their current menu, the only menu that comes u when you click on website or menu or anything. When I got there, I was charged two times the amount that was on the online menu, when I asked about it the girl dismissed me very rudely and said yeah that's a super old menu I don't know where you found that, I asked to speak to the manager or the owner and neither was available, she cannot give me any contact information for the owner and there is none online. The food was pretty good, but I will not go back to a place that has poor service like that, that is the only menu online so they should honor those prices. A very big letdown for waiting almost a year to eat here!! I won't be back.

Went in around 6:05 pm during the week. Not busy. Was seated right away. Waitress came over shortly after and took out drink order and food order. Chicken wings, chicken fingers and fries. Took 45 minutes to get our food. Not sure what the delay was as it wasn’t busy at all. Honey mustard chicken wings were good. Medium wings were very saucy and more on the hot side than medium. Chicken fingers were good. Service was ok. Bit of a let down in the wing department. Especially after hearing everyone rave about the wings. 4.5-5 out of 10. Decent.

Chicken wings was ok, but fries wayyy overcooked or recooked! Why would anyone box and serve someone french fries that look like that?? Don’t think I would ever revisit this place.

Prefacing this by saying I normally love Elmo's. In my top 3 wing joints in Buffalo. This experience however was pretty unfortunate. 3 beers ordered, all were filled about 4oz short (pics). Two diet cokes were given that looked like the machine was so low on syrup they were nearly clear. Crazy that the server would deliver these drinks without hesitation. She did take the cokes off the bill when we asked her to. Wings tasted good but were semi cold, like they had been sitting out quite a while before getting to us. 3 stars only because wing flavor was still great and they were busy.

We were so disappointed. Went in on a Friday and ordered fish fry, which is on the menu for Friday only, and was told they don't do fish fry this time of year. That wouldn't have been too bad but I called on Tuesday before going to make sure they had fish fry(we were coming from out of town), and was told that it was on the menu. After waiting almost an hour for a table it was very disappointing. So I ordered the beef on deck and the beef was cold. This used to be a great place. I'm not sure why it has gone down hill.

I’ve been here 3 times, I went for the wings. 1 time they were the best wings I’ve had maybe ever and the other 2 times they were a 6.5 at best. They just didn’t cook them long enough. I ordered them x-crispy and they weren’t even regular crispy. Needed another 2+ minutes. Prices weren’t cheap and not worth risking it a 4th time.

We got 4 different kinds of double dipped wings. The Cajun mixed with the honey mustard was the clear winner then there was medium hot/honey mustard, double honey mustard and double mild. First off, I want to say that i love the flavor of frying a wing and then grilling it. There’s a place where im from that does that really well. On some of these songs, the grill flavor shined through and on others you couldn’t even taste it. The blue cheese was fantastic and easily my favorite thing there. Loved dipping the French fries into it. Anyway, if you do the double dip, make sure to do Cajun/honey mustard.

Great food but slow service. Like really slow. 15 minutes just to get some boxes and the check. Wings are awesome and maybe it was a slow day.

Great & friendly service. Unfortunately the wings were just ehh. Nothing great. Especially for $40 .We asked for crispy and they were so soggy. I always expect a nice crispy wing when you have Buffalo wings. I won't be back.

I dont get the hype. How this place consistently lands on Best wings lists is beyond me. Order 3 different types of wings each one was dry and over cooked. The bar is nice doesn't feel crowded even when packed. Service wasn't bad. Not a bad place for a drink, but better choices for food in my opinion

Went in with high hopes. The reviews prior to our visit sold us. We got there, put our name on the list, and waited for a table. It was busy so there were plenty of other groups behind and in front of us. After about 15 minutes we were seated. One of the waitresses came over to take our drink order. Right from the get go she was not pleasant to us, being short and kind of rude (but was very nice to everyone else, even striking up conversation). After coming back with our drinks she took our order. Fast forward to just over an hour later and we still don't have our food. Wings, a wrap, and chicken tenders. Meanwhile, at LEAST 2-3 other groups that were seated well after us, as much as 30 minutes after us, already received their food and some had even paid and left. Finally we get our food. The wings were mediocre at best. Barely warm. The wrap was dry as can be, not sauce to be found (it was supposed to be chicken in medium sauce). The fries tasted like they had been sitting out for 45 minutes. Not a good experience. Will not go back. 0 stars would be a better rating than 1.

I never ever leave reviews but this was horrible. I heard a lot of great things about the food. came here a few nights ago with big expectations and was extremely disappointed. Service was ok but the waitress wasn’t very nice and didn’t seem to care in the slightest. However, what i was most upset about was the wings. they were CHARRED! not only the wings but also the fingers. the food was inedible. see photos. extremely disappointed. do better.

Maybe we had extraordinary expectations from Elmo's based on some reddit recommendations, but the food unfortunately didn't measure up. First, both the wings and onion rings arrived completely cold. Not luke warm, but cold The meat of the wings was very dry and the wings were too salty. The onion rings would've been great, if not stone cold. On top of it, very expensivel, and the celery wasn't even deveined? Very disappointed. Not sure how they managed to mess up wings so bad. Hope others have a better experience.

We called Saturday to check and inquire if they were open. The girl on the phone had nasty attitude towards us like we were stupid. It was our first time recommend by a friend. We never went in because of the phone treatment. I guess they don't need new business.

Unbelievable. Saturday night and was told I wasnt allowed to get wings takeout and had to come in to eat. I have been out of town for a week and just wanted my favorite wings in the area. Was on a flight for 8 hours and had no desire to be around people. Told the person on the phone this and was too bad so sad basically. I will never go back. And they were a favorite. Ordered 20 wings and fries to dine in. The wings taste like charcoal, dehydrated mummy, carbon element, Sahara desert. Look how small the wings are compared with the dipping cup. I don't know if this is Elmo's style or just overcooked, pretty disappointed. Told the waitress about this and got a response "OK".

One and done. Would not recommend. We went here for dinner last Friday and ordered wings and “Melissa fries.” We tried three kinds of wings — Cajun, BBQ, and Medium. The Cajun wings were actually pretty good, but the medium ones were not medium at all. They were basically tasteless and had an overwhelming vinegar flavor. The BBQ wings were the worst — so overcooked and charred that they were black and bitter. The burnt flavor made them really hard to eat. The “Melissa fries” were described like chili cheese fries, but they were a big disappointment. The fries were soggy, the chili had no real flavor (just beans and meat), and the cheese was thick, heavy, and bland. Overall, it was just gross and unappetizing. This place was recommended by a coworker who loves wings, but I honestly don’t understand the appeal. Definitely a one and done for us — I wouldn’t recommend the food at all.
