Porto's Cafe Glendale Reviews
There was a long line when I came in yesterday, which says it all, Porto’s never disappoints. The flan is perfectly creamy, the fresh fruit tart is light and refreshing, the almond croissant is flaky and rich, and the chocolate vegan chip cookies and chocolate hazelnut besitos are absolutely delicious. This is my go-to place for family birthdays, important celebrations, or even just a well-deserved cheat-day treat. Always a win.
You can’t come to SoCal and not stop at Portos. Their cheese rolls and guava pastries are chefs kiss but honestly I’ve never had a bad pastry here! Not only are they a delicious must, they’re also very affordable. Don’t forget to grab a drink and a meal! Food is equally yummy!
I wish they cut people off here like they do at bars when someone’s had too much. I’d be first on the list. This place is SO good. Truly something for everyone: they have savory potato balls and croquettes , bread , cakes and flaky croissants. The prices are super affordable. The service is always incredible. I’ve been so many times and never had a bad experience. Everyone who works there is so kind and welcoming. Try the guava strudel — a party for your tastebuds.
Lovedd the food. I got the cubano sandwich and the dulce de leche latte 10/10 would recommend. Service was amazing and our server Andrea provided excellent service. She was very nice and made the experience amazing. Would come back again!!
Always fresh food and the warmest smiles—Porto’s Bakery is truly the reason I can’t bring myself to leave Glendale. What makes Porto’s even more special is their heart. I will never forget when devastating floods hit the Philippines years ago, and Porto’s donated 20% of that entire week’s proceeds to help those in need. Porto’s Bakery is more than just a bakery—it is a true Good Samaritan and a pillar of the community.
We love the location in Glendale , Andrea was walking around so was extremely kind and so helpful . We love the grilled chicken salad and the chicken Milanese . Don’t forget to try the drinks and pastries they are delicious . The prices fit any budget ,so many great things to try .
One of best pastries in town. Reasonable prices, great quality and good service! Great value!
Porto's is like a Disneyland for pastries and desserts. Overwhelmed (in a good way) when I entered with all the options. I arrived around 3 pm and options were still limitless. I stuck with what I've been recommended which were the guava and guava w/ cheese strudels. The guava flavor is stellar but what gave it more depth and contrast is the cheese - so I would recommend the guava with cheese between those two. Additionally, I got a plain croissant to assess the basic pastry taste and it did not disappoint. The team at Porto has built a consistency in their pastry production and it certain shows across all three items. Fantastic in my opinion. I am not sure if they warm up your pastry before delivering it to the POS counter but the pastries were warmed just enough to make that first bite hit home further. Find a time on your weekend or on your visit to give them a visit. Tables are available outside to enjoy your food on a lovely day in Glendale.
I drove 8 hours from Sacramento to come and try this bakery out that everyone was saying was the best food the ever had. Not only was it the best sweets I ever had it was ridiculously under priced, I honestly asked the manager how they were making money lol. The same food I bought from here would have easily been 4 times the price in Sacramento. Delicious food and a good price you can’t beat it. When you go in ask for George, he was very kind and patient while helping us since we were from out of town.
Porto’s Bakery and Café just blew me away. The prices are almost unbelievable for the quality you get. Everything here tastes like it should cost three times as much! I had the best cheese danish of my entire life. Light, flaky, and buttery… absolute perfection! We walked in right at closing and they still served us with the friendliest attitude, which made the whole experience even better! My husband is a chocolate lover and he loved the chocolate twist. Fresh, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. He’s still talking about it! Amazing prices, incredible quality, and genuinely great service. If I lived local, I would be here all the time for desserts. Cheers Porto’s!
This place was hyped up to me beyond belief and it definitely lived up to the expectation. For drinks, we got the strawberry matcha and dulce de leche, both of which were delicious. We also got sandwiches as well as various sweet and savory pastries. The standout winner was the potato balls. Absolutely outstanding. Will definitely visit again.
After a day at Warner Bros studios we needed a refuel so stopped off in Glendale and went back to one of our favourites from previous California trips. As always Porto’s doesn’t disappoint. We had the Ham and cheese croissant, Potato balls, Chicken empanadas (very tasty indeed), Meat pie, Pork tamales ( my personal favourite) and Plantain chips None of the dishes disappointed, all were tasty with good portion sizes and there were absolutely no complaints from anyone in our party. For less than $20 ahead it’s an easy fix for a hungry clan. Without a doubt we’ll be visiting Porto’s again in the future.
If you’re craving unforgettable flavors, Porto’s Bakery is a must-visit gem that never disappoints! Everything here is extremely flavorful—from the savory pastries to the decadent desserts, every bite is pure perfection. Yes, there’s often a long wait and long lines, but trust me, the wait time is absolutely worth it. The staff members are extremely friendly, patient, and work hard to keep things moving smoothly even when it’s packed. I highly recommend making reservations and placing your order in advance if you can. Otherwise, be prepared for a 20-40 minute line to order, plus another 5-10 minutes to receive your food. But honestly, even if you wait, you’ll be rewarded with some of the best bakery items you’ll ever taste. Don’t miss out on Porto’s—it’s a delicious experience every single time!
I live out of state and the first thing I do when I come to the area is go to Porto's! I'll have breakfast aand then even go back for lunch, desserts and coffee! Muffins, scones, bars, tarts and ao much more. Everything I have ever tried here is amazing and the prices so reasonable!!! While it can get busy they have it down to move the lines quick and efficiently. I recommend to any of my friends coming through to stop and try!
First time at Porto’s and definitely not our last! They have a little bit of everything, from savory to sweet and it’s all tempting. We mainly came for the pastries and matcha today, and they did not disappoint. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and worth the hype. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their dishes!
DELICIOUS!!! so many things to try, so many flavors. Prices are very pleasant, I would say even lower than cafes that I’m used to, so it’s a great bonus. Service is fast, the staff is on point and is very friendly. The line kept growing, but at the same time moving pretty fast since there’s lots of staff to help out the customers. Can’t wait to be coming back here!
This was one of the first Porto’s I’ve been to and their famous cheese rolls are my favorite along with their plantain chips. I recently tried their slow roasted pork and a hot matcha latte. The pork was great, excellent flavor and very tender. Their matcha latte was really good, perfect temperature and just the right amount of sweetness. I’ve been coming here since I was a teen and always busy with lots of food options to take to work.
Well, how can you go wrong with this LA classic? It is a must try for anyone in the area and anyone visiting for a good reason: the food is very good. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try very much of their enormous menu, but what I did try was quite good. I had their guava and cheese pastry as well as their just cheese pastry. Both were great, but interestingly, it seemed the just cheese pastry was a bit less crumbly than the one with guava. That’s the only thing I didn’t like (it was a bit too dry). Other than that, very, very good. Pretty solid prices for the area, and the filling was very nice and not too sweet, which I liked. I definitely recommend you try this place out and I’d love to come back and try more items.
Their cheese rolls and guava cheese pastry were my favourite. They also have plenty of selections for their bakery section. They also have meal options which are mostly Hispanic or maybe Cuban cuisine - I only tried their pulled pork plate and it was definitely delicious. They also offer a variety of unique and fresh smoothies or combination juices and coffee. Basically display offers variety of options in different categories and they are all delicious. I have nothing to complain about. The only thing to say is that the store could be too crowded sometimes which is understandable because people love it.
Probably the best sandwich I ever had. I have the chicken torta which one is simply amazing. Super reasonable prices and such friendly staff and beautiful facilities. Plenty of outdoor dining. I'd say the only minus is the bathrooms are very small for such a large place. Highly recommended for all the above reasons.
I ordered bread at Porto’s. When I got home and checked the order, I noticed that two potato balls were missing. How could this happen? It’s not about the money — it’s about trust. I think I understand now why the prices might be a little lower. You really need to double-check orders carefully.
This was my first time visiting Porto’s Bakery, and I was really excited to try their Parisian Chocolate Cake. Unfortunately, the cake was noticeably dry, which was disappointing since I’ve always heard great things about this bakery. The flavor was good, but the texture just wasn’t what I expected. I’m hoping this was just an off day, because I’d like to give Porto’s another try in the future.
