Akira Glenmont Reviews
What a fantastic experience this was. Party of 10 no reservation and we were able to get a table and served very efficiently. The food was beyond delicious although my eyes were bigger than my stomach.
Priced exactly as there service is. You'll be spending around $100 for two but you get great service hot food and well cooked food made with love. I always come here for my sushi and soup!
Great food. We went in without a reservation and there was a wait. We decided to sit at the bar instead. We were able to order food and drinks there, and also enjoy the news. Great food. Great staff.
This place is great. The atmosphere is so good and their food is high quality. I would have given them 5 stars on that alone. But their customer attention and service is amazing!
We (family) love Akira! So happy they managed to stay around until pandemic restrictions allowed them to open indoor dining. Probably our all around favorite, having enjoyed many a celebration, superb meal, and reminding us of Gasho of Japan, Central Valley, NY, circa 1977.
The service is absolutely great. Peter is very special, attentive and caring! Michele is a great manager and the rest of the team is excellent now too.
Food was immaculate. Every single thing we ordered was flavorful and was beyond expectation. Went for Valentine's day but will definitely make a point to return here
The food was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly. I travel a lot for work, and this place is on the top of the scale for hibachi and sushi. I ordered Hibachi Salmon and the Tuna Avocado Salad, Sashimi, Sushi Nigiri, Rolls and more. 5 STARS!
Everyone there is soooo friendly and helpful. The sushi is so fresh. The hibachi was a very fun experience.
Really great ambience. Git there early ona Friday and only 2 other groups there. Great food. Had the Angus steak at a hibachi table.
The people are always super friendly and the food is always delicious! The atmosphere is relaxing and visually appealing. They also have really good specials! Their Shrimp Tempura rolls are the best I've had in the area!
I had take out Hibachi Chicken. Delicious!! I called ahead and it was ready right on time. Reasonable price for wonderfully cooked and prepared food. Chicken, fried rice, salad, grilled veggies, So good! Love it here!
I had sushi at the bar, served by Nicki. Food was great, service was friendly and attentive. There were plenty of classics as well as new and interesting options. The hibachi area sounded like a lot of fun. 1App + 1Roll + 3pcs Sashimi + 2 imported beers = $30
One of the best affordable and plentiful menu wise Japanese restaurants in the area. Always good offerings, lots of space to sit, high quality food, and pleasant staff. Always one of my favorite places to get takeout from, love the dinner boxes, sushi, and yakitori offerings (one of the few places that offers so many options for yakitori!). Definitely recommend.
MY wife and I had a wonderful dining experience last night. THe hibachi combination of steak and shrimp was the best we ever had. THe two dollars extra for the noodles was well worth it. THe atmosphere at Akira lends itself to enjoy a truly great dining experience. We found the drinks to be a little high for the area.
Absolutely amazing food, service and entertainment!
I love this place. Anytime the kids have birthdays we go here because they make it so fun. The food is so good, and we are laughing and singing along. The waitress is the same one we have had many many times she is so efficient and friendly The wine list is fab for the adults so no worries
Service was fast. The place wasn't overcrowded. They play peaceful music in the bathroom. They have a full bar. The sushi and sashimi for two could feed three to four people. The dinner presentation looked like a work of art. We also had the akira tuna tartare. Everything was delicious. The price is very reasonable for the amount of food you receive.
I love this place. Even something as simple as their avocado rolls are delicious. I get the 3 rolls dinner and it's so much food every time! thank you so much!!
Great sushi. One of the few places in the region to consistently have uni actually available. The fish is prepared and cut properly. Presentation is creative, classy and beautiful. The service team is friendly, professional and efficient. Hibachi is good as well, but sushi is more my thing.
So delicious and so friendly. I feel so blessed to live within delivery distance of this fine establishment. Edit: every time I order from this place they somehow make the food even more special and delicious. I don’t understand how they can do this. It’s magic.
I love this place. I order from them probably twice a week. I work down the road and most of us normally order from Akira as well. It's always fantastic service from Michelle, always fresh food and made to how you want it. I'll continue to recommend this place :)
I love this place. I order delivery from them on the regular. The atmosphere is also really nice inside. I love the lunch special. You can get three rolls, a salad and a soup for only $15.95.
If you are looking for quality sushi, a nice hibachi experience, a full bento box or somewhere where they will accommodate a party of 16/20; look no further. Not a single bad review from the party everyone enjoyed their lunch. We had a range from bento box, to sushi, to hibachi shrimp, hibachi salmon, hibachi steak, hibachi chicken and hibachi scallops- everyone was very satisfied. Everyone’s meal was provided within seconds of each other, drinks were properly refilled as waitstaff was very attentive. This is our go to work spot now.
excellent food! i got the garlic creamy udon with seafood- only $29.95 and humongous portions. the atmosphere is very comfortable and the wait staff is very patient. highly recommend!!
Akira is one of my go-to restaurants for take out when I have the extra cash. Their chicken fried rice is a great quick meal, and the serving size is good. They perform nicely; I don't believe I've seen their chefs mess up before the atmosphere is lovely; a large decorative boat in the entry hall is a treat. Overall, a fantastic establishment.
Great Hibachi with fantastic chefs and their performance!
Had a delivery that was perfect. Got a text explaining they would be here in 50 minutes. No worries. No more than 25 and the food was here and it was HOT. Couldn't be happier always coming back!
Hibachi here is always a treat. The food is good and the Chefs who cook the meals are very good at what they do. We love coming here!
We rented out Akira for our youth leadership conference and they were amazing! Delicious and wonderful food, hysterical comedy from the chefs and personal attention to each one of our guests. The chefs listened to dietary needs, allergies and other concerns and perfectly prepared each meal. With a large party you run the risk of not having enough beverage but the wait staff was super attentive. The decor is elegant and tasteful
If you’re looking for a sushi experience that balances quality, freshness, and innovation with classic preparation, Akira Albany in Glenmont is a restaurant that deserves your attention. Nestled in a quiet part of town, this spot combines a warm, welcoming ambiance with a focus on quality Japanese cuisine, delivering an experience that has quickly made it a local favorite. Let’s start with the sushi, which truly sets Akira Albany apart. One of the first things you’ll notice is the attention to detail in presentation. Each roll arrives at the table with the kind of artful plating you’d expect from a high-end sushi bar, often garnished with fresh herbs or edible flowers that elevate the aesthetic without distracting from the taste. More importantly, the fish is incredibly fresh—a crucial factor that makes all the difference in a sushi dish. You can taste the quality of each slice, whether it’s the buttery richness of salmon, the clean and mild flavor of tuna, or the slightly sweet, delicate snap of scallop. The rice, often overlooked in sushi but essential to the overall flavor, is perfectly seasoned and textured: slightly warm, with a hint of vinegar that complements the fish without overpowering it. Akira Albany offers a wide variety of sushi rolls, from traditional options like the California and Spicy Tuna Rolls to more adventurous fusion rolls featuring unique combinations of ingredients. The specialty rolls are definitely worth exploring for those seeking something beyond the basics. One popular choice is the Dragon Roll, which layers eel and avocado with a drizzle of sweet eel sauce, giving it a smooth, creamy, and slightly smoky flavor profile. There are also vegetarian rolls available, ensuring that there’s something on the menu for everyone, regardless of dietary preference. In addition to sushi, the restaurant also serves an impressive calamari dish that is not to be missed. Calamari can be a tricky appetizer, often ending up overly chewy or overly oily, but Akira Albany manages to strike the right balance. The calamari here is lightly battered and fried to a delicate crisp. The batter doesn’t overwhelm the calamari, allowing its natural flavor to shine through. Inside, each piece is tender, not rubbery—a testament to the kitchen’s skill and commitment to using fresh ingredients. It’s served with a zesty dipping sauce that adds a nice, tangy complement to the mild sweetness of the calamari, creating a combination that keeps you reaching for more. This dish is perfect for sharing, although it’s so good you might find yourself tempted to keep it all to yourself. Service at Akira Albany is also a standout aspect of the dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive, able to answer questions about the menu and make recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi aficionado or a newcomer to Japanese cuisine, they’re happy to guide you through the options without any pretentiousness. They strike the right balance between being attentive and giving you space to enjoy your meal, making the experience pleasant and relaxed. The ambiance in the Glenmont location adds to the appeal, with its cozy, modern decor and soft lighting that makes it an ideal spot for anything from a casual meal to a date night. The restaurant doesn’t get overly noisy, so conversation is easy even when it’s busy. They’ve crafted an atmosphere that feels both upscale and welcoming, perfect for families, friends, or even solo diners. In summary, Akira Albany’s Glenmont location delivers an impressive dining experience that combines high-quality sushi, expertly prepared calamari, attentive service, and a comfortable, inviting setting. The sushi, fresh and beautifully presented, is a highlight, but the calamari is an unexpected delight that elevates the meal. Whether you’re there for a special occasion or just craving some good Japanese food, Akira Albany offers an experience that is sure to leave you satisfied and planning your next visit.
Best sushi in the Albany area, AND they make it with brown rice on request. The King Roll in particular was nothing short of amazing. We usually go there for their hibachi, which is excellent, but now that I know about the sushi, I’ll guess I’ll have to splurge on both from now on!
This is a great place! I will definitely be going again. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. I had the teriyaki chicken while the rest of my party had the sushi, everyone loved their meal. We sat at a table, not the hibachi so can't say much about it. I will say that the people who were at the habachi sounded like they were having a great time with their chef. Made me a little jealous 😂
Only a few minutes away from Albany, you enter into a Japanese authentic environment. Very clean, nicely outfitted. Food of course was top notch. From their great attention to detail with their sushi to their traditional hibachi plates. Very fresh tasting food. Will go again for sure.
We haven't eaten inside here, in over a year. I think some new staff/management. They did a fantastic job. Everything was super fresh. The little salads actually had mixed greens with the iceberg which a health nut appreciates lol. Portions were huge as ever and lots of left overs. My mojito was delicious. Service and chef all very nice. Repeated some of the hibachi tricks for the kids. Lots of Covid precautions which was comforting. Enjoy
Four of us to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We were able to set in a little room all to ourselves (great for social distancing) They are always attentive to their patrons needs and did not disappoint. The food was outstanding as usual. We all ordered different sushi for appetizers and they always give generous entree portions. Doggie bags to go. I had brought in a birthday cake and they generously took care of that, brought the serving essentials, lit the candles and played an upbeat "Happy Birthday" song through the sound system. A great birthday luncheon!
The drinks weren't strong and I believe I was over charged ($231 for 4 adult meals and 2 kids meals, 2 drinks, 4 Japanese sodas, 2 sprites no free refills, and to substitute noodles FOR rice is $2 but to add a side order is $3.50), food was good, Not GREAT, staff was ok. Unless they charged us for the kids balloons!
We got there near closing time but the place was kind of busy. Our water was very courteous and helpful. He even went an extra mile to help us with a minor problem we had. The food was good too.
First time there and it was a pleasant experience. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was a little slow but it didn't ruin our date night. I recommend.
Delicious food with wonderful service. Very friendly to families with kids, also a nice atmosphere for date night! The art of sushi is still alive! The plating of the sashimi is beautiful..
Stopped for a quick bite. I have even driving bye for awhile and decided to stop in . I ordered from the menu not the hibachi table. We got adventurous and had a few things we didn't like. Most of the food was fantastic and the things we didn't like seemed to be prepared well and the flavors were balanced. The decor was pleasant and the service quick( language barrier) . If u had an option I would rate this 3.8 stars not quite 4 stars. Better than Hanah by Crossgates not as good as Tomo Asian Bistro in Slingerlands.
Quality of the food used on the hibachi was very good. The preparation was decent enough. Mildly entertaining. The saucing was saltier than it needed to be. But, still, very good and very pleasant staff. Enjoyed the evening.
Very nice place, excellent service. I had edamame and my man had gyoza for appetizers, and of course we shared. They were perfect. The hot tea was also very good, but could have been a little hotter. We had udon noodle dinners as our entrees– beef for him, seafood for me. Perfectly sized portions, and they were delicious. Dessert was ice cream for me, and chocolate souffle for him. Everything was fantastic. A little pricey, but we had a Local Flavor deal worth $30, which brought the tab down to $39.00 before the top. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
I ordered the sashimi with 15 pieces. I did not like two of the fish and felt that they were maybe not as fresh as they could have been. The presentation of the food was good and my friend's appetizers were good.
Hibachi tables very entertaining the cooks are well instructed and how to make your experience special. Hibachi selections are minimal and on the pricey side. There are many sushi and other Asian dishes to order off the menu. Food is well prepared and hot.
The mobile ordering service was midly unintuitive, but aside from that the experience was good. The exterior is showing some age but the interior is clean well kept. Most importantly the food was good and on time. Good quality sushi and Hibachi from a pick up experience. Decently priced.
It's a very nice place with friendly staff. We had the opportunity to have seats at the Hibachi grill. The chef was entertaining and knowledgeable. However, the only downside was the food wasn't delicious. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 main dishes and paid a little over $100. Then we didn't get much food. When you go here, I feel like, you're basically paying for the experience.
Service was fast (granted there were only 3 other tables with people when we went) and the food came out pretty quick. Tempura chicken was delicious, however the sushi was good, but not excellent. Overall, I'd say it's worth it.
I love Akira so damn much. The garlic udon has me coming back time and time again. Always a good choice when a group of friends is looking for some great food in a good atmosphere!
It was my first time there. I went with some classmates from the class of '79 to celebrate one of our friends birthday that's coming up. The service was good. The cook was excellent. The entertainment was superb and the food was excellent! As well would I go back again? Most definitely I had a good time
We love the hibachi from this restaurant but, the chef was not on point this last time. He overcooked everything and put to much sauce on everything. The sushi was excellent.
This is my 2nd visit here. I went last year with my husband and we were impressed. Today I dined alone for lunch. I was the only person eating in at the time yet somehow I felt forgotten at times. I was seated and got my food right away. I got the sashimi lunch and samurai roll. So fresh and delicious! However I had ordered a side of spicy mayo which didn't come. No big deal. But no one came to check on me for my whole meal. I needed a drink refill. No one. I could see some staff sitting together which is totally fine with me. But again I was the only person dining there and for my whole meal no one came to check on me. I will certainly go back and hope for better service next time.
Server checked on everyone around us. Except us. Had to get my own To go box anx find a manager to get my tab. Still tipped 20% on a $60 meal even though I felt like the food wasn't worth it.
I always enjoy Akira. The only issue is when you have to wait a pretty long time to fill a hibachi table so they can take your order. We had to go to a regular table and get our food. When we got our order the noodles were inadvertently left out but overall it was good.
Not a place I plan on returning to. The green tea tastes burnt and when we asked to switch it out the waitress immediately looked inside the pot as if to make sure we didn't drink it. Seems like something that could have been done in the kitchen. The skewers were tasty but expensive for the portion. I've also had tastier rice. As we were preparing to leave we noticed the place suddenly smelled like feces but we were not sitting right next to the bathroom. Maybe they were having a bad day. There were only a few of us eating around dinner time.
We started with martinis, so strong and delicious! Apps were gyoza and their crab cream puffs (crab rangoons but somehow tastier). Both were homemade and so good. I had dumpling soup the broth was so aromatic and flavorful. The sushi was fresh and everything came out so fast. My husband got 3 special rolls and a few pieces of yellowtail sashimi. He said the yellowtail was the best hes ever had but that he has had better sushi. The service was super fast, I wouldn't say friendly, more like rushed. But hey, once they realized we were sittin a while they did leave us alone. I got the goma salmon, they didnt cook the citrus out nearly enough it had a very sour acidic taste to it. It was supposed to come with spinach and it came with carrots and asparagus which I like so not a huge deal. Salmon was really overdone and the sauce kind of ruined it for me. All in all not a horrible experience but some of the food did lack luster.
The Food quality is always great but their service is terribly slow. My husband and I have brought our two children at least once a month for the past year. After our last experience, we won’t return. They only have 2 hibachi chefs in at any given time and you have to expect to sit for 15-20 minutes before getting a beverage. Our average wait for a chef to begin cooking is 50 minutes and start to finish about 2 hours. Forget dessert as you’ll rarely be asked. It took 25 minutes for a bowl of vanilla ice cream last trip. This is a great place if you’re not hungry and looking for a long enjoyable date night. Don’t bring your kids or go if you’re looking to eat soon. Or go to a regular table
The overall experience was just ok. Some dishes were pretty tasty. Filet Mignon was overcooked (order a medium but got medium well/well done). Spicy crab salad was nice. Service is a mix review here. One server was not nice and ignored customers. One server was very nice and courteous.
The restaurant is nice inside, and the service is good. The food wasn't great, though. I had the hibachi chicken. The vegetables and soup were good, but the chicken was dry and the fried rice had no flavor. I have always heard really good things, so I think it may just have been an off night for the kitchen. Also, while the inside of the building is nice, the outside is looking rundown. Guessing it has been all summer since the grass was mown and knee-to-waist-high weeds were pulled. The front steps are dangerously cracked. The lack of upkeep is a bad look for Glenmont.
Overall it was good. If I were to rate everything separately it would be as so. Appetizers were ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ including the soup and salad that come with the hibachi, service would be ⭐⭐ it was very slow and forgetful, hibachi and chef I would rate as ⭐⭐⭐ the flavor was excellent, the under cooked chicken not so much. It would be a while before I returned. Too many other options in the area where I wasn't served raw chicken.
Speaking just about the hibachi side of the restaurant, while the food is fine and the price is reasonable, if a dash on the high side, the service is by far the slowest of any hibachi place I've been to (and I've been to many) and the presentation was incredibly weak. Plus they had the only bad hot sake I've ever had. There are so many options for hibachi in the Albany area that I simply cannot recommend this one.
Appetizers were amazing (had the tartare and crab cakes). Sushi was terrible. SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. For a table of two, we weren't approached by anyone at the hostess platform until about 20 minutes in. It might have been because it was in the evening and they might have been short staffed with the waitresses. Dessert was good. We had the chocolate lava cake and red bean ice-cream. If I was going to come here again, I would try the hibachi and see if I have better luck.
My sister took me out for my birthday and knows I love sushi, so we came to akira. The food was great as usual, and the waitress was nice at first. Then came time to pay the bill. She charged us for refills which we didn’t realize had a charge (we should have taken that into an account but slipped our minds) and she charged her an extra dollar on a roll that was only supposed to be 4.50. Were going through and realize we’re a few cents short, so I went down to our car to get the change. I came back with the change and we made it extremely clear to the waitress to put the change on first and then do the card, otherwise it’ll decline. She said okay no problem, went, and our bill was paid etc. we sat and chatted for a little while and then got up to leave. The waitress stopped up and said “excuse me where’s my tip, it’s not on the receipt” and we told her we’re really sorry but we don’t have enough for a tip. She still insisted for a tip and we said we’re sorry, we don’t have money for one. Then she rolled her eyes at us, grabbed the bill booklet from the table and gave us a dirty look and started muttering something in Japanese, and I can kind of imagine what it went along the lines of. Don’t get me wrong, we felt terrible we couldn’t leave a tip but we didn’t expect to end up being short on money, especially when she added those charges. The food was great, the service was okay at first but after the waitress got nasty for a tip that would’ve only ended up being $5 for our bill anyways, I’m extremely disappointed.
My meal was pretty terrible. Chicken was dry and overcooked, vegetables were undercooked, fried rice had no flavor other than burnt. Real shame because the restaurant had a great atmosphere.
I had reservations and stood at the door for 15 to 20 minutes without being acknowledged. Once we were seated our drink order was taken and drinks were brought quickly and then our food order was taken. My wife got her appetizer and mine was forgotten. After about 25 minutes I finally got my appetizer. I asked the waitress after an hour if we were going to be served our food and was told the chef was on the way. It was about 15 minutes amd the chef finally showed up. I am giving 2 stars because the food was good and the chef was personable. But overall service including wait time was terrible.
2½ hours. From the time that we walked in, to the time that the guy came out to prepare our food we'd been waiting for 2½ hours. The employees were indifferent and practically ignored us. The wait time between sitting and ordering, ordering and soup/salad, and soup/salad and the main course was ridiculously long. The chef was lacking in energy. The food wasn't bad, but the whole experience made us certain we won't go back there again.
It was ok. But overpriced. The waitstaff was super friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Iv had a lot of Sushi in my time. This wasn't the best. I am an eater, but there was no way I was finishing this meal. Sushi should never taste stale or old....this did. I ordered 3 rolls from the 'basic' roll page (not the special rolls). Almost $25 in 'basics'. Not great. Husband ordered beef and broccoli. Almost $25. We could have gone to the takeout place across the street for half of what we paid and would have tasted just as good if not better. We Do not recommend this as a sit down chinese dinner in the area. There are far better in the neighborhood for the same price.
I would definitely rate this place higher.... but when we called 24 hours ahead of time to see if we needed a reservation for a party of 2, we were told no..... however once arriving to the place they put us at a table with a very large family that had a child taking up a good amount of space we felt really out of place and they said that there would not be another Chef for a very long time. We wanted a personal and enjoyable first experience of hibachi.....Unfortunately they did not deliver we will try Koto instead.
Some serious fat shaming going on there. Menu amd pricing was not explained well enough and when the bill came I didnt have enough for a.proper tip, which the waitress was sure to notify me of. Felt extremely awkward and uncomfortable, not going back
Took the fiance out with the kids for dinner. The cook rushed cooking are food. The waitress basically rushed us out withing 15min of us eating bringing the check and boxes. Didn't even asked If we wanted dessert. She also has the nerve to ask for more money for the tip, then goes to another waitress talking in what ever language they are and staring at us. Never going here again.
We had a very bad experience with the hibachi today. For two orders they gave us very less rice and chicken is not cooked at all and very hard and salty. The waitress don’t even care even if we express our feedback. Not worth the money.
Ordered the Yakitori Sampler expecting one of each of the eight offerings, like the menu says. What I actually got was: NO Bacon Wrapped Asparagus or Mixed Veggie Yakitori TWO Chicken Yakitori with 3 pcs 1 Steak- tough to chew, 3 pc 1 Shrimp -- overcooked, 3 pc 1 Squid- 4 pc-- decent enough 1 Bacon Wrapped scallops 3 pc- scallops dry & overcooked 1 White Tuna- 3 pc NO mixed veggie, NO Bacon Wrapped Asparagus But the last one I did get stuck with apparently was 3 pc of tofu thrown on a skewer instead of bacon-wrapped asparagus or veggies. Meh, had been looking forward to trying the place, but I want what the menu says I'm ordering-- not what happened to end up in my to-go box.
I've heard of restaurants charging automatic gratuity for parties but just for your family to come eat especially to a waitress that never comes to your table.... That's ridiculous if I would have known that I wouldn't have tipped the chef separately. The food was okay but not for the price. You can tell it's been sitting around in the fridge for a bit with the flavors in it.
I stopped at Akira for take out. The service was great but the food was a major disappointment. I ordered the veggie dumplings (soggy and flavorless), the tuna roll (inedible, fishy in a bad way) and sesame chicken (grisly). Nice people but I will not be back again.
Food was terrible so much garlic it was ridiculous. Chef didn't have a clue cremated everything filet , lobster and shrimp. Even though we said something as he was cooking. Usually there's some showmanship not this guy. And it was a birthday party. Will not be returning.
The server was very rude, would not take my reservation. Said they don't for 3 then when we came into they said don't do same day. Changed her story. This was my husband's birthday and first time for habachi for my son. So they ruined the night. Tried to sit us behind the cook. Very disappointed and would not recommend this place at all. Terrible!
When my family and I walked in, the hostess tossed the menus onto the table rather than placing them down respectfully. That alone was enough to make me question what else this person might be capable of, especially when it came to the food we were about to order. My wife, my son, and I immediately decided to leave, as it was a clear red flag that we were not welcome there. After leaving the premises, I called to speak with the manager. The manager apologized and assured me they would review the camera footage, stating that the server in question is usually one of their best and suggesting it may have been a misunderstanding. Having worked in the food industry myself, I can read people’s energy and intentions—especially when someone clearly does not want to serve you. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to that establishment again.
Absolute garbage. Dumpling soup tasted like dish water. Bone in the dumpling. Red curry had no sauce. Chicken and shrimp were very hard and over cooked. General tso chicken was the worse Ive ever had. Hibachi was garbage. 110 dollars down the toilet. Save your money and go to McDonald's. It's a gourmet meal in comparison.
I had a very disappointing experience at this hibachi restaurant. The food was not tasty and it was way too expensive for what we got. We ordered hibachi for 6 adults. Since our kids are only 6 and 4 years old, we didn’t plan to order separate meals for them—they just wanted to eat a little from our plates. But the server told us if we shared our food with the kids, we would be charged $8 per child, even though we weren’t asking for extra food. That felt very unfair. Because of that, we ended up ordering one kids’ hibachi meal just to avoid the extra charge, even though we didn’t plan to. Also, unlike most hibachi places that include fried rice, noodles, and vegetables, this place only served fried rice and vegetables—no noodles at all. On top of that, the meat and fried rice portions were very small, not worth the price at all. There was no entertainment from the chef—no smile, no tricks, no energy. He just cooked quickly and walked away. My kids ordered lemonade, but it tasted like plain water with a bit of lemon peel. Definitely not real lemonade. The chef also sprayed bottled water at the kids during the show, but instead of their mouths, it hit their noses and eyes. One of my kids started coughing after that. It was not funny or safe. And finally, when I tried to pay, they said my card wasn’t working—but right after, I received a fraud alert from my bank. That has never happened to me before.
Total Rip-Off – Worst Hibachi Experience Ever What a joke of a restaurant. We were a group of eight, including two kids, and chose the hibachi live table expecting a fun night with good food — instead, we got overpriced scraps and rude service. The food was nothing special, definitely not worth the absurd prices they charge. My wife and I ordered a combo for two ($68+), and I swear they didn’t even serve a full portion for one person. A couple tiny pieces of chicken and beef, and a pathetic sliver of lobster — that’s it. Most hibachi places give you fried rice and noodles. Here? Just plain rice. Clearly cutting costs wherever they can. It felt like a scam. They even tried to pass off ice water with a squeeze of lemon as “lemonade” for our kid. Seriously? That’s just cheap and embarrassing. My sister ordered salmon and chicken — what she got looked like a leftover salmon trimming, maybe 3-4 oz at best, for $28. It was laughable. And the chef? Miserable. Didn’t smile, barely spoke, just looked like he didn’t want to be there. Worst part: he sprayed water toward my kid’s face like it was a joke — and when it was obvious my kid was uncomfortable, he kept doing it. Completely tone-deaf and unprofessional. We left feeling ripped off, annoyed, and honestly pissed. The whole experience was a waste of money. We’ll never come back, and I highly suggest anyone thinking of going here to look elsewhere — plenty of better hibachi spots that actually respect their customers and serve real food.
I sat down with friends and it was very quiet with no music playing so when we all stopped speaking it was silent. Very awkward. The service lady immediately gave us to go boxes after we got served our hibachi. Basically telling us to pack it up and leave. The hibachi cooker barely said anything while cooking to keep us entertained. Horrible service and very poor environment. Over priced and not worth the money to sit down and watch your food get cooked. That’s all you pay for at the end of the day. Charged me over $70 in tips automatically. If I could I would give no tip. Horrible place. Overpriced. Bad customer service. Didn’t check up on us while eating.
