We stop by here every single time we go to the lake because it's so amazing!! Do yourself a flavor and mix the two salsas together!! 😋
Food was REALLY good. 1 had a #5 combo, my Hubby had a #1 food was great. To the lady in the comments about mixing the salsas! 👍 Amazing. Chips are Flour tortillas.
Had a great conversation with the manager. Love my hometown. Loved the green chicken enchiladas.
The food is always good. Most of the service is good. The waitress that took our order and checked us out was great.
I’ve eaten here several times. As a 6th generation AZ native, this is the authentic AZ style Mexican food that I remember. The red sauces is amazing, the plates and portions are generous, the beans and rice are dang good. The green salsa is my favorite. Overall the chips and salsa is the best chips and salsa out there. I cannot cut thru Globe without stopping here. Highly highly recommend.
Hidden gem outside of the town of Globe. Food was absolutely delicious. The chips were just amazing. Will definitely make those a regular stop when passing through town.
The Chips and salsa are excellent… I think the chips must be homemade because they’re an outstanding quality… airy & crispy. I like that they give you two kinds of salsa… One sweet and one spicy. I ordered the beef chimichanga and it was very good. The staff is very kind & friendly as well. The restaurant definitely needs some TLC aesthetically in order to improve the atmosphere. But I highly recommend this place for the great food and service.
Great food. Awesome employees. This was my 2nd visit, 2 days in a row too! I’ll definitely be back for another visit soon! Visiting Roosevelt Lake? Swing by Guayo’s on the Trail for some great Mexican food. Seems like a hotspot for the locals too so you know it’s gotta be good. Cool cars out front too!
After driving in a new Jeep over the Four Peaks pass and coming around the back side of Roosevelt Lake my friend and I were getting really hungry. We looked on Google Maps for a Mexican restaurant in Miami, AZ and it led us to Guayo's on the Trail. First time here. Great atmosphere. Very clean. Staff is very friendly and the food was the best Mexican food we've ever had. Definitely will return here again. If you're in the area, please stop in and try the food. You'll be a repeat customer too.
Work took me to Miami, and I wanted some good Mexican food. A local recommended this place, saying the chips and salsa were very good, which they were. The layout of the place is a fiasco. No one knew where to find the restrooms, no hostess to greet you (just a sign saying to seat yourself), with separate and closed off dining rooms tucked away here and there. Decor is, um, like a southwestern themed tourist shop. Front entrance is cluttered with a plethora of advertisements and posters and business cards, which was uninviting and unappealing. Thankfully the food was worth the visit. Delicious guacamole, rice on point, and tasty chips and salsa. Food came out quick, service was extremely attentive and kind. I didn’t like the check out method, which was unclear, unexplained, and awkward. You’re apparently supposed to know that you cash out at the register without ever seeing a bill. If it was just the food, easily 4.5 stars. But heavens me, this place is disorganized and chaotic.
My Mom and I had dinner at this restaurant this evening. I have always had the experience of great food and great service here in the past. The servers have always been very attentive, remarkable, and kind. For these reasons, I always come back and have brought friends and family to eat here. However, tonight was a different experience. We could not seat ourselves because the tables were full. In the past, the servers would inform us when a table was available and cleaned. It seems intrusive to go around the restaurant looking for an open table, especially in the back portion of the restaurant. We stood at the front waiting for 7-8 minutes before we actually got seated. I am definitely okay with waiting my turn, however, it is upsetting when 4 servers pass you, knowing tables are open, and do not say a word to the customer. The servers never inquired if we were waiting for a table, waiting to pick up food, waiting to pay our bill, or waiting to go to the planet Jupiter in a spaceship with E.T. When we ordered our food, my Mom was offered beans and rice with her meal, I was not. We did not have any of the servers come check on us to ask if there was anything we needed. Regardless, my meal was delicious as usual. Many, many thanks to the wonderful cooks/ chefs. Many, many thanks to the elderly gentleman who was walking among the customer tables asking if everything was okay. He definitely has the customer at heart. It would behoove the servers to follow his example. It would also benefit them to remember that the customers help to keep the business successful by returning, bringing others with them, and by advertising by word of mouth. Lest they not forget that although they may be employed hourly, they also work on commission which is contingent on how the customer is treated. Have a wonderful night Guayos On The Trail employees. I hope to return soon with high hopes that this review was taken constructively. Thank you
Red mix burrito, 3 penny size pieces of pork, all gravy cheese, taste a little beans. Seems like the kitchen was told to rip people off. Sad
We ate here today and came after the lunch rush. Many tables were empty and leaving. I ordered their "#1 speciality" carne asada - rare. What came out was an extremely tough and overcooked steak. There wasn't even any pink despite it being a thick steak. No one came to check on us and we waited over 30 min. The steak was inedible and I waited to show someone and have the option to send it back. My dad and I also ran out of drinks - but no one stopped or cared enough to check-in. My dad's beef chimichanga was also very dry and he didn't finish his meal either. To make matters worse, the people sitting across from us had been waiting over 45 minutes for their food — their server had simply assumed their order had been delivered, even though it had never been entered into the kitchen. No one checked on them either. I finally went to the front to ask for the check and report on the food quality. The check still did not come and the lady upfront seemed to be avoiding us at all costs after the report of the food condition. Then 10 minutes later, when we both got up to pay at the front (because there still wasn't a check!), they still did not comp my meal. They took of a small amount from the bill. The service was awful and the food too. I took maybe 3 bites and still had to pay! We will not be back and do not recommend this place.
