Good and passionate
Great spot downtown for drinks and good food, bring ur billfold it gets pricey
Great service, delicious food. Adriano the owner is a true delight.
Wow.. If you're looking for a romantic date, this is your spot.
Fantastic service and food. Not cheap.
Great place for going out and drink
Wonderful
Phenomenal staff and exquisite eats! The Parma sandwich is one of the best I've ever tasted. Highly recommended!
The service, food, and atmosphere were all great. Can't wait to try them again.
Enjoyed an outdoor summertime lunch here. I agree with others that it's overpriced, but my food was amazing: risotto with spinach, sausage and fennel. Beforehand, they offered delicious bread, olive oil and tapenade. Great service too. I'll be back.
We've dined here several times in the past. Tonight we had a great family dinner. Five different entrees and everyone was very happy with their meal. Service was polite and prompt.
Had a very impressive dinner last night. The tortellini soup was delicious and the steak in red wine sauce was the best that I have had. I especially liked the little things the staff did. Kyle, our waiter, offered that they validate parking, gave me a shortcut for our walk to DeVos Hall on a very cold night and recommended a wine that we enjoyed so much it is now our new favorite.
Bit pricey, but delicious. Grabbed dinner here with friends. Our waiter was very attentive. We had ravioli, mussels and the seafood salad (pictured). Everything was fantastic, but the entrées were all in Italian so I can't remember what they were called.
Wonderful time here! Met my cousin here for dinner and loved the food and wine. Very nice place, waiters were very good. It was Tuesday also, so they had the music at the dome across the street. It was just all around a very enjoyable experience.
Great food and service! And I loved the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for a romantic evening out.
I was disappointed with the quality of my meal, especially for the price. I ordered the gnocchi and a pear dessert - neither were exceptional. However, the service was excellent.
Atmosphere and service are excellent. Dishes are sometimes wonderful, sometimes meh. Desserts are a low point, "sfogliata" is thin chocolate interspersed with chocolate pudding, not mousse as advertised. Nice outdoor seating in summer.
Slow service. Food wasn't impressive for the exuberant price. Overall underwhelming and disappointing.
My husband and I along with our 8 month old son visited Tre Cugini on a short weekend get away to GR. We were actually looking forward to our visit to the upscale Italian restaurant. The dining experience started out great. Our waiter was friendly and had a great attitude however over the 2 hrs we were there our dining experience slowly turned into a bad one. The restaurant was not busy although we had to wait forever for our food. I'm on a special diet for my son he is breastfeeding and can't have dairy proteins. The waiter insisted he would tell the chef and he would leave all dairy possibilities off my plate. I ordered salmon with peas in white wine sauce. It came served on cheese potatoes. Unfortunately I tried a couple bites of them thinking they were something else and sure enough my little guy had a belly ache (to say the least) the next day. When I told the waiter that I tasted cheese he told me he forgot to add the dairy free to the request. At that point after our long wait and the wait staff serving a possible allergen to us you would have thought we'd receive a discount or at least a visit from the manager to our table. Absolutely nothing was offered! This restaurant puts on a great front at first but the portions are small for the price and if you need to order something special you'd better confirm several times. My husband and I were very disappointed that 1 beer 2 entrees and 1 salad came to almost $100. You'd be better off spending that money at another high end restaurant.
Very disappointed. Most bland risotto I had ever tasted. Plus, it was over $20 and had the tiniest pieces of meat imaginable. Service was terrible. Waited 25 minutes for our check. The only positive was my wife's salmon which had great flavor. That was the first and last time we will ever go there. Don't waste your time.
We were looking forward to our night out at Tre Cugini's but left with very mixed feelings. Whilst our food was good - to be expected at the price levels - the experience w the service was poor. It was a busy SA night and we ordered Tuna tartar ($16.00/excellent), Lamp Chops ($39/good), Linguini Vongole ($28/excellent). The server with the water clearly wished to be anywhere else than at Tre Cugini's: the water was never filled up, she kept yawning in very obviously and was very inattentive. The wine ordered seemed to be one of the worst wines ever served at a price level of $11.50 (must have been a $ 5.00 bottle) - it was difficult to get our waitress' attention to order a different wine. Also the service was knowledgeable once present we did struggle all evening to have someone check on water, wine or food. We sat for 1/2hr w/out wine or water, had to inquire w another waitress for a second wine, which never came - our waitress came to take the first glass w/out ever inquiring if I wanted a second one? Upon complaining the 2nd arrived 20 min later - after our dinner was finished ( which we returned) To top it off, both glasses were charged w the comment it is not house policy to take a wine off even if I chose to return it ( seriously - in a restaurant where I spend $ 140.00 for 2 dinners and a appetizer?) Will not be back...
Tre cugini offers mediocre italian cusine at an unrealistic price. The online menu prices are way off, expect to pay at least 5 dollars more per plate. Don't forget about the hidden prices either. They act as if soup or salad is included with your entree and then tac on an extra 15 dollars. Spend your time and money somewhere else.
I went to Tre Cugini on 22nd Dec 2014. I only ate a few bites of the pancetta and mushroom pasta while in the restaurant because I had recently had a stomach surgery and was taking it easy. When I got home and went to eat it the next day I found what was looked like thin strips of cooked wax paper throughout the dish. I called and left a message for the manager with no reply. I called and left a message for the owner, whom called me back, told me there was no packaging in that dish and they cut the meat themselves, which apparently comes unpackaged to them? I don't know what it was, but I know it was there. He said that because I took the food out of restaurant he wasn't liable and went into everything I could have done to the dish. I still had the food, and told him I had it, and he never asked to see it, or even for a picture. A quality place knows how to take care of their customers, would certainly not try to blame them for their lack of quality control, and would know they just lost a lot more money by losing my business, and that of the people I know including business associates, instead of simply refunding me the price of a meal that I couldn't eat because it wasn't prepared properly. Very dissatisfie ex-customer.
Unprofessional is an understatement. We didn't fit the mold of their usual client (apparently). We were out for a walk to see an art show and were casually dressed. We received judgemental glances from the staff despite the fact that we knew several of their patrons in the building. Never again will I spend my money in this establishment.
I made plans to have a nice birthday dinner with my boyfriend. I called and spoke to the manager to see if I could celebrate a day early seeing as I was coming in from out of town and the restaurant was not even open on my birthday. I spoke with both the hostess and the manager and they were very accommodating about it. I schedule 2 plus weeks in advanced. I came in the day of had wonderful food and the hostess and waitress were both so sweet. Halfway through my meal the owner came over and yelled, yes actually yelled at me, and proceed to call me a liar for getting a birthday discount a day in advanced. Needless to say I was mortified. The waitress and the hostess both apologized and I was able to get my discount. Needless to say I will never go back. Terrible terrible manners on the owners behalf, which is such a shame because the food was good and the support staff was so kind.
Not usually a reviewer, but my date and I were sat and left alone for 20min, while the entire dinning space was empty. Ended up walking out and weren't noticed on our way out either. Shame have been here before and enjoy the food and atmosphere, and was excited to share it with my date. Made my reservation on open table and promptly it was canceled, shortly after leaving, we were noticed eventually I guess.
Went today, first Wednesday of Artprize. Save your money. The poor server was working her tail off to try and make up for the big time shortage of employees. The food was slow. When it got here it was bland. The Chicken Marsala and the Osso Bucco were both not very good. Quite bland. Which should be the sig dishes of an italian place. The beer was skunky as well. Something tasted off. Don't go here. I've had better experiences at Steak and Shake
Don't go for lunch unless you have a couple of hours to wait for your food and to hear the excuse Art Fair. Place was over half empty and we waited forever for sandwiches. They were gracious enough to add a 20% gratuity to our bill before it was presented! Find a better spot.
We stopped for a light lunch and cocktail. It was nearly an hour before we decided to give up on our food and request the bill for our drinks. Had to hunt down the server!! They said the kitchen had been very backed up - there were only five or six tables seated at that time! We paid our tab and left! We will not be back!
