Great Neck Diner Great Neck Reviews
Very solid diner overall. The food was fresh, tasty, and well prepared - the roast beef salad was generous, flavorful, and nicely presented. Portions are good and everything felt made to order. The atmosphere is classic and comfortable, clean, and welcoming, making it an easy place to sit down and enjoy a relaxed meal. Service was generally good and friendly, though slightly slower at times, which is understandable during busy hours. Overall, a reliable diner with quality food and a pleasant vibe. Would definitely return.
What an awesome experience while visiting Long Island. I walked in not knowing anything. Luck was on my side! Tonight's special was lamb chops - 6 lollipops, baked sweet potato, roasted Brussels sprouts. And mint jelly!! I chose the salad over soup. I really shouldn't have had the chocolate cake. Hours later and my belly is still full!! A wonderful welcome from the owners and excellent service from the whole staff. Maybe I get to visit again before leaving the area.. Best Wishes!!
This hands down the best diner in Great Neck! I had an amazing breakfast here—chocolate chip pancakes that were fluffy and loaded with chocolatey goodness, perfectly crispy bacon, and eggs cooked just the way I like. The sausage was flavorful, and the rye bread was fresh and delicious. The unlimited coffee kept coming, which was perfect to pair with the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection, and I couldn’t ask for a better breakfast spread. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a classic diner with great food and friendly service, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back soon!
Great coffee, great breakfast, and excellent service! They have my type of multigrain bread! Hubby and I came here right before Halloween, so they had the Halloween decorations. It’s a big corner diner with lovely seating areas, inside and outside. You can’t miss this place. I had Challah bread French Toast with two Sunnyside up eggs, and it was fantastically prepared. The waiter took note of how I wanted the eggs cooked. Hubby had two eggs over easy. The home fries were excellent too, well done! I meant for the well-done home fries, but sure, the job was well done as well. Thanks!
Came here for the first time and I was not disappointed. The entire menu selection is quite large, but their burger selection certainly stands out. They have crab cake burgers, turkey burgers and many other types of burgers, so everyone has something to try. I ended up going for the GND burger, which has grilled onions, chipotle Mayo and cheddar. The burger tasted great and I was pleasantly surprised at how well put-together the whole thing was. It didn’t feel like individual components put together, but a cohesive burger that tasted just wonderful. I do have minor complaints, such as my burger being medium rare when I ordered it medium, and some mushrooms being in my burger, but those things happen. The atmosphere is nice, too. It has a typical diner feel, with some aptly themed decor. The service was great, with the waiter joking around and my water cup was never empty. Overall, a great experience that surprised me and I definitely recommend this diner.
First time at Great Neck Diner and I had a great experience. The breakfast was awesome. We had eggs over easy with a side of corn beef and chocolate chip silver dollar pancakes everything was tasty. The home fries were interesting they peppers were on sweet side but it works. My waiter was polite and service was fast. They have a decent kids menu and the portions were just right. Will be coming back!
The restaurant has two bathrooms not handicapped equipped but accessible with canes. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor. Nice to sit outside with shading. The food is standard diner fare. The service is excellent and price for the area is reasonable. There is only street parking with meters but currently 25 cents for a half hour.
Classic diner vibes with solid breakfast options. The challah French toast was thick and fluffy, the pancakes had a nice mix of chocolate chips and fruit, and the hash browns were crispy and packed with flavor. Everything came out hot and fresh. Great spot for a laid-back breakfast or brunch! Outdoor dining also available!
Really pleasant diner in town. Greeted warmly in a bitter cold day and seated with a smile. Temperature inside was just right. Coffee was fresh and delicious and just kept on coming. Breakfast was excellent as well; fluffy eggs, really delicious home fries, and crispy bacon (no fat). My only issue was the price. Almost $60 with the tip. For two eggs each. ♿️ Still happy we are there, though.
Pretty typical diner. We are visiting the area from PA, and a friend suggested walking to breakfast here. Opened at 9am and we arrived around 9:15am. It was almost empty as you can see in one of my pics, but wow, did it fill up fast soon after! That's when our service really slowed down. But all employees there were very nice. Food was what you'd expect. We liked their coffee. Surprisingly inexpensive for NYC / Long Island. Good find, and I'm sure better than our hotel complimentary buffet breakfast.
1- Food = 2.5/5. Average. Breakfast was very average. Pancakes were flavorless and their homemade corn-beef hash was definitely a disappointment. 2- Service = 3/5. Average. Service was good up until the point wear we ordered eggs over well and it came back over easy. Not a problem because we never complain but the waitress noticed, mentioned it under her breath and didn’t fix the issue. 3- Ambiance = 3/5 Average. Inside and out nothing special. 4- Reservations = 5/5. None needed but expect to wait a bit on the weekends because this seems to be the only diner in the area. 5- Value = 2/5. Below Average. Not realizing this was a good part of Long Island we expected more from this local diner. Will not recommend and if I’m in this area again I will try a different place.
Disappointed after reading reviews. We had brunch specials, all were mediocre. Only bright spots were French fries (according to 9 yr old ) and waffle. Chorizo, eggs , papas fritas, & fried chicken were weak and ill inspired. Who wants fried chicken & waffle with bone in chicken leg?. Fully free of inspiration. Also expensive
