MEXICO RESTAURANT INC. Greensboro Reviews
We love this place! The service is always top notch, being that it was Valentine’s Day and they were busy the hostess warned us the food was going to take 15-20 minutes after ordering to arrive. It really only took 10 minutes and that’s still faster than any other restaurant in the area. The queso birra is always fantastic and so are the burritos.
Its just GREAT. The food, service atmosphere perfect everytime. Thank you for all you do. Love this place
Food very good. My Grand daughter really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it very much.
Great food, super fast service even when it was very busy at lunch, great deal on the special
Great food great atmosphere Great place to come visit and enjoy authentic Mexican style restaurant with A true vibe to go along with it.... Make sure you bring up Google translate or get fluent in Spanish! Remember this is the 21st century. Almost everybody speaks English except for some lol I personally just smashed a a taco salad by myself. It was great. Go pick yourself up one too!
I came here because this was my sister's favorite Mexican restaurant. Maria, our waitress was amazing. The queso dip was great, as well as the salsa and chips. I had their Sopa de Mariscos. It didn't have a lot of seafood other than a lot of shrimp, but the flavor was nice. I had their Tres Amigos fajitas. The meat was plentiful with plenty of peppers, onions, beans, and rice. I had them bring a side of cheese and sour cream as well. I wasn't expecting to find such a gem in Greensboro, but I am glad that I did.
My wife and I ate lunch here for our first time today. We both really enjoyed everything about the whole experience. Our waitress was very friendly and polite and professional. Service was fast and the food was all fantastic. My only regret is that we took as long to try this restaurant out as we did. We definitely plan to become regulars. For reference my wife got the carnitas tacos and I got the quesabirria tacos. We got queso dip and chiles toreados for appetizers to go with our chips and salsa. Oh, and they make a delicious green hot sauce that we both enjoyed, too.
Needed taco 🌮 salad 🥗 for lunch and of course, a tasty margarita 🍹!! My first time here, in my neighborhood!! Went around 2pm (late lunch) The hostess and server were very attentive and polite, food was amazing and came quickly and the margaritas??? Perfect! Can't wait to visit again! 💜
This place is JUST okay. I'm not impressed with the food. It's average. But if you're looking for a quick bite then you'll enjoy it. I've been to better places but at least the food is hot.
We had a comfortable booth with a friendly and efficient server. We were immediately created with fresh chips and salsa bowls for both, a nice change. The salsa was thin and moderately flavored, mediocre at best. We ordered the premium guacamole appetizer which was very nicely done, fresh and chunky. Our main dishes consisted of a tenderized chicken dish and their chicken fajitas. Both items were well flavored and very large portions. The chicken dish included a pico salsa, spicy and fresh. The fajitas included ample onion, green peppers and stewed tomato. The chicken was not the nice sliced grilled breast but random pieces. A good meal at a good price.
Decor was very nicely done, and staff was nice and attentive. Food was meh. Salsa tasted like the pizza sauce from a lunchables pizza kit (heavy on oregano), gaucamole was bland and seemed devoid of cilantro, however the cheese dip was good. Main courses of choripollos and Arroz con pollo were ok but the random enchilada on the choripollo would have been better to be replaced with refried beans, or lettuce or literally anything else. Tldr: the place has potential but the food is lackluster.
Last night (Friday 9-12-25) me and my friend came in around closing which we did not realize and were told we could only order to go which was completely fine the issue comes in that when we got home (which we should’ve looked at our food before leaving but we were being rushed to leave ) looked like garbage I was beyond disappointed it didn even look like nothing like we ordered I wish I would have took a pic before getting upset and throwing it away but the steak we both order it to be medium it was very hard to chew and for the sides we both got over cooked beans with cheese on top and some rice that’s for both plates even tho we ordered different steak meals I was so embarrassed my friend wasn’t from the U.S so we both were excited for him to try something new I don’t even think it was what we even ordered and we ended up at the Waffle super hungry which we should have probably went in the first place this is the 2nd time I’ve had a bad experience with this place and I definitely will not be going back I see why people now go to the other Mexican restaurant beside the abc store I rather take my business there going forward ! The service and food has gone down super bad back in June got margaritas and we had no buzz what so ever we are sure they sold us the margarita mix with no alcohol I told my self I would never go back because they have shady business and I forgot all about that until last night I see now why no one hardly goes there if your ready this do your self a favor go to another Mexican place or the one a few seconds down the street this place doesn’t deserve our business especially African Americans !
My wife and I tried Mexico restaurant for lunch. The atmosphere is fun and colorful. Everyone's taste is different and for us, our dishes were not very tasty. I ordered the queso burrio tacos the beef was extremely salty but together the tacos were bland without much flavor. We'll definitely be trying other Mexican restaurants in the area.
Terrible service. We came and were basically the only people in the restaurant and it still took an hour to get our food. Food was very sub par. Will definitely not ever return
Visited on a weekday afternoon. The food was disappointing — the sauces the enchilada dish was not good, and I barely ate the dish. When I calmly told the server I didn’t care for the food and asked for the check, the interaction became cold and dismissive. My card was taken without a word, returned silently, and there was no acknowledgment or basic courtesy at the end of the meal. I wasn’t asking for anything comped — just professional service. Between the quality of the food and the lack of courtesy, I won’t be returning.
Nice decor inside. This was my first time here as well as other members in my party. There was a greeting right away which I liked. The chips were bland. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce. I asked for guacamole instead, but it would have been a charge. I wasn't paying, my friend did. Next, we mentioned it was a birthday in our group. Noone sang happy birthday to us, but did for another table. Continuing on, the prices were extremely high! The kids meal at night is $7.95 or something like that. 3 kids, 1 child over 10 and 2 adults. I have never had nachos. Neither had my friend. We were going to split that. There was no guacamole (extra like $4.95) or so, no sour cream, the cheese was on the bottom of the plate. The shrimp was underdone. The chicken was ok. The steak was ok. I am not a fan of steak. I do not recall any tortillas being brought out. The bill was right at $75. What? It just didn't add up. My friend went outside to get another card I guess. I had the kids. It was at this point that the entire kitchen staff comes out and just stand together as if we were going to skip the bill. Prejudice vibes! My friend came back in and had to use several cards to pay, but she paid. We will not be returning.
