Sushi 805 Grover Beach Reviews
Food is always amazing! Mexican fisherman's roll is my favorite and their noodles are also delicious. I like thicker noodles so I always get udon but they have thinner ramen noodles as well. Service is great as well and the inside has cool decorations.
From my child, "it really satisfied my stomach and I just love this sushi." It's the kind of sushi place where you feel at home. The servers are attentive, the food comes out quickly and delicious, and the price is right!
Sushi 805 was good service was good I would visit again. The restaurant is right on Grand ave near the entrance to the Oceano Dunes, right up the street from the Monarch Butterflies migration spot, not far away from Pismo Beach. We had a firecracker appetizer, green tea, miso soup, a shrimp tempura roll and a Hawaiian roll. All of the food was good my only issue is I feel like the fried onions on my Hawaiian roll may not have been fresh to order / were a bit stale. I order this type of roll wherever they have it so that would be my constructive criticism. I’m not docking any points because otherwise, everything was good but that would have made it perfect. Not quite sure what was going on with that as my wonton chips in the firecracker were fresh. Overall like I said I would visit again. Apparently they also do all you can eat here, and also have Korean BBQ in addition to Japanese skewers and Ramen. Give it a try.
Dinner here was delicious! We didn’t need all you can eat because our appetites weren’t that big. Their avocado sushi was perfect, the edamame and gyoza was divine, and my boyfriend really enjoyed the Philly tempura roll. Definitely we will be back! Service was wonderful, it was a lovely atmosphere, and the location near the beach is perfect! Thank you :)
Went to this place on Valentines. Loved the service and food. All you can eat sushi ends at 7pm and it's 45 bucks for each person. There was a wait for table if you didn't reserve. It wasn't bad considering it was on Valentines. However I expected to get a call from the restaurant to let us know when our table was ready. We did not get a call, and our name for a table was crossed out. They let us in as the last customer because we were waiting that long. We were the last people for the all you can eat menu. Food came out quickly and they do it in courses so you don't order too much after you are full. Besides us never getting a call from the restaurant and our name being crossed out for a table causing me and my partner to wait longer, food was very good and so was service. Would come again.
Sushi was great. Had the Las Vegas roll, and the Play Boy Roll. Both very fresh ingredience... super clean rolls with good flavor. Also had the Spicy pork bulgogi. Comes with rice and a side of kimchi (which was nice). Kind of bland but maybe it's toned down for the average patron? Was much more tasty when I mixed the kimchi in with the meat. Our server was cool, very attentive and nice. I would come back here, but not necessarily for the Korean BBQ. Maybe the beef is better?
Amazing food at a decent price. Came here for some sushi while on a trip to the area and was quickly hooked. My favorite place to go to whenever I'm around this area now! Wonderful sushi & incredible meat dishes. We tried sesame chicken, beef bulgolgi, steak & chicken teriyaki, among a few rolls. So good we went twice in two days to try all the dishes we were looking at. Will absolutely be back for more when I'm in town again.
Delicious food and great Service. We tried the sushi rolls, teriyaki chicken, bulgogi and some appetizers. Personally I like the pork bulgogi better than the chicken and the chicken teriyaki was decent but wasn't to die for. The sushi was flavorful and beautifully presented. The location and interior decor is very unassuming but the food was worth it.
➡️ Cute place, with its own parking lot, no actual sushi bar to sit at but plenty of other seating. ➡️ Limited beer/wine menu. ➡️ Decent sushi, nothing stood out as exceptional to me but solid and good size portions. 🍣 Pictured: Salmon skin hand roll (decent), Unagi nigiri (decent), Spicy Scallop roll (lots of scallops vs. other fillers which was a plus).
My husband and I used to drive by this place for years wondering about the whole all you can eat sushi thing and scoffing we couldn't wrap our minds around it. But we were needlessly judgmental we went in and we tried it and it was surprisingly fun and tasty. I forgot to get all the pictures of everything my husband ate. He did the all-you-can-eat challenge. By the way you should know that you have to eat everything or you have to pay for everything and you're subject to a slightly limited menu but there's still a lot to choose from. I got the Korean spicy ramen and I was really happy with it. One of my only critiques is that they go a little heavy on the imitation crab where imitation crab is used. All in all it was a great experience.
As a vegetarian/vegan there are limited options but everything I ordered was good. I just wish there were more vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. The strawberry mochi was not vegan but was the best thing I tried on the menu so it was worth the trip to check this place out. Would recommend trying it, especially if you aren’t vegetarian or vegan and if you like mochi!
What has happened to this place? Photos on the menu no longer match what is served. Covering rolls in syrup can’t hide the dip in quality. Missing celery in one of our rolls?! Cheap tea cups that burn your hands. ****There were bones in our sashimi!! Bones! In sashimi!!*** A trained sushi chef would bury his yanagiba in his chest for this…We got free mochi. Without a true itamae behind the bar, just change the name to 805 Mariscos Crudos and get it over with. The wait staff was excellent. Thanks Brittany.
Came here for lunch AYCE, they didnt have lunch price thats fine and went for it. Paid for full ~$45. Ordered nigiri the first round, let me tell you the fish to rice ratio is about 1:5!!! The nigiri had way too much rice and i had been so many ayce sushi places, this is the most rice i had. Defintely not worth the money if you are here to eat more quality fish instead of all you can eat rice.
What was that? — that was the question my friend and I asked as we walked out of this restaurant. Disgusting sushi. There was about twice as much rice as there should be, crab imitation meat were used almost everywhere, and only a tiny amount of decent fish. I’m attaching a photo of the baked salmon roll. And how can you possibly ruin edamame? — somehow, you managed to do that too!
