Ubaldo Grumello del Monte Reviews
Tasty food, professional personal and open to cook something for vegetarians.
A nice place with a fancy design, but fairly reasonable prices. The rissoto with shrimp and pineapple was delicious, so as their herb rissoto. The wine was also delicious. I give them two extra points: one is for the children menu, of which the courses came quick and were consumed as quickly as they came. My children even asked for an extra serving😊. The second is for their vegan options, which I heard were good.
Tasty food and friendly staff nice place to eat whatever you want
Little, quiet restaurant with an Italian estetique where you eat quiet well. Bread is always fresh while the staff is helpful.
I
One of the best business menu. Good offer of pasta, meats or fish. Good ratio quality/ price. Just the wines selection is too expensive. Lose house wine is missed. Service care at guest.
The restaurant is located between the villages of Chiuduno and Grumello. There's ample parking, and the restaurant is accessible to all. The staff is quite friendly, quick, and helpful. The atmosphere is quite welcoming, and the decor is decent. The Neapolitan dough is very good, light, and easy to digest. The scrocchiarella, on the other hand, is heavy and unpleasant. I don't recommend it. I recommend the restaurant primarily for the Neapolitan dough pizza.
Good for a quick lunch
The place is easy to find with ample reserved parking. All the spaces are clean and well-maintained. There are two large dining rooms and a smaller walk-through room. Both the fish and meat dishes are excellent, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and preparation. The pizza is delicious, thin with a high, soft crust. The prices, although well-topped, seemed a bit high. The service is prompt and attentive. There were no long waits.
Very beautiful and well-kept location, slightly elevated with a panoramic view of the area. Large covered terrace with plenty of seating. Overall, a good restaurant/pizzeria. The dishes are very carefully prepared, though perhaps the portions are slightly smaller. The mixed fried fish is not quite up to par, with a few very small calamari and greasy fries. The first courses and appetizers are much better. The pizza is good and very well topped. The prices are average for the area.
We had pizza for dinner. The place is very nice, with internal parking. Upon entering the room, it seemed like a nice place. Unfortunately, the chair at the table was dirty and was changed after we pointed it out. It doesn't matter, it happens! However, the staff is very friendly. As for pizza, I'd say the menu is varied, but I didn't find the pizza exceptional. It doesn't resemble Neapolitan pizza as they make it out to be. The crust is very full/heavy and not very well-risen, it felt like rubber, while the ingredients are very good and high-quality. I don't think we'll go back if they use that kind of pizza dough.
I'll start by saying that the evening was complicated by the "climate" at our table, and I apologize to the staff. However, the quality of the food cannot be ignored. The risotto was bland and poorly plated, the tomahawk meat was raw and stringy, the hare stew was dry and flavorless, the mushrooms were cold... the cake was good. The location was very beautiful, but the quality of the food was merely adequate.
Hi, I celebrated New Year's Eve last night and I have to say it was very, very disappointing. The waiters didn't understand what we were ordering, and sometimes they arrived changed because they had run out of an ingredient, and they didn't even warn us about this. The musical entertainment was a total flop and in fact no one, and I repeat no one except 3/4 elderly people, was dancing. Then I expected, as they do in many restaurants, that at midnight there would be a slice of panettone and a sparkling wine for a toast, not even that, and we paid a small extra fee, which when I booked they told me was for the New Year's gadgets, which gadgets I don't know... basically a bad New Year's Eve despite having paid well...
We were there for an aperitif, and there were supposed to be 15 of us, but we arrived with 14 (keep in mind). The atmosphere was comfortable, welcoming, and warm (except for the rather inappropriate music). The appetizer, for what we were served, was good. The first course was casoncelli, very stringy and full of oil. Wines: very acidic white, acceptable red. Spirits: We were offered limoncello or licorice. When we asked for other amaros, we were told, "They're off the menu; if you want them, you'll have to pay." At the end of it all, we got the bill and discovered we also had to pay for the missing guest, something we had NOT been told at the start of the service. So, in addition to having to pay for the other guest (who, unfortunately, couldn't come), they behaved poorly in terms of communication. Overall: food was okay, service was okay, but you shouldn't behave like that.
