We opt for the 5-course chef’s menu. We were astonished by the variety of fresh ingredients and local products integrated in the dishes. The experience was fulfilling and the staff was very friendly as well. The price and quality was decent! Would totally recommend this restaurant to everyone who is excited to try out this culinary adventure!

We did the surprise menu (basically chefs selection) and it was great. Took wine pairings with it which went perfect with the food. Good service, they were very accommodating about switching out the dessert wine with a bubbly. Great experience overall.

We had our wedding dinner at Ragu, and it was absolutely delicious. The staff was great and accommodating and we had a wonderful waiter. Gluten free options were easily available, as were other options. We will certainly dine here again!

There is a pleasant atmosphere and beautiful interior in the main room of the restaurant. That's exactly how you imagine Ragu Restaurant before your first visit. Booking the table, I was absolutely sure that I would be seated at the table in the main room. But as it turned out later, there is another room which looks less attractive. It's a bit strange. As for the food, it is expectedly fine! The bread is really delicious. It is so tasty that you feel full long before your meal is served. Keep it in your mind! :) I had a 3 course menu and enjoyed my dinner. Perfect fish appetiser made of arctic char with roe and marinated Jerusalem artichoke. You should definitely try it with rye bread. The most delicately cooked meat with cep sauce and roasted beets for the main course. Moreover, they serve delicious cherry ice-cream with sour cream mousse for dessert. The menu is perfectly balanced. Every dish accomplishes each other. Truly pleasant service. Good value of food for money. Would I recommend this restaurant? Surely, I would.

Toista kertaa Ragussa ja ravintola vain parantaa entisestään. Olimme illallisella 10 hengen seurueella ja ilta onnistui täydellisesti. Ruoat olivat erittäin herkullisia ja tarjoileminen onnistui jälleen kerran erinomaisesti. Viinivalinnoista erittäin iso plussa! Quite nice place. I have to say Helsinki's restaurants are strongly moving to their own Finnish contemporary style. And Ragu is one of those. I ordered a surprise menu of four courses. At the beginning it was a delicious shrimp starter, then a quite tender cream soup, next was a refined white fish fillet. After that a very friendly lady that served me brought salmon combined with some water-plant and mashed batata. At the final I got very tasty ice cream with some nuts and crunchy supplements. My gratitude to the team 🇫🇮 for that nice evening.

Big props for the music, art on the wall and overall atmosphere. Central location. Allergies were accommodated, gluten-free options available. We enjoyed an awesome evening here with the two different menu options+wine (4 courses each). The dishes were creative and perfectly arranged. The service was really nice and the explanations for the wines were professional and interesting. A small improvement in my opinion could be in the beginning to start as an opener when welcoming the guests on the table with the explanations of the aperitives of the day because I felt a bit lost regarding the question what I would like to drink, without seeing a menu or explained offers.

My best fine-dining experience so far in Helsinki!!! I sometimes find some of the fine-dining restaurants a bit overpriced, but this place, I’m very happy with what I have been served and paid for. To start off, I absolutely fell in love with the bread. There are 4 different types of bread and accompanying sauces. My personal favorite is the second, which has a hint of sweetness on its outer layer, yet still savory enough to be considered as a bread not a pastry. We chose to try the normal Ragu 3-course menu and the Surprise 3-course one with wine and cheese. All of the dishes were so spot-on that we couldn’t even complain. The flavours complemented each other very well and were finely seasoned. As a sweeth-toothed who is quite picky with her dessert, I’d gotta say them both pleased my appetite! Ragu was recommended by my colleague as this is his favorite place in town, and now for sure it is on my list as well. You should come and try :)

Yksi parhaimmista illalliskokemuksista koskaan. Kävimme syömässä Ragussa viiden ruokalajin illallismenun (59€ per hlö) parilla viinilasillisella (12-14€ per lasillinen). Kaikki tarjotut annokset olivat erittäin viimeisteltyjä, ja ruokien eri maut ja tekstuurit olivat sopivan vahvoja sekä erinomaisessa balanssissa keskenään. Myös palvelu ja ruokien pöytääntulotempo olivat ensiluokkaisia. Kaiken lisäksi paikka on mukavan tunnelmallinen. Pöytävaraus on käytännössä edellytys päästä syömään illallista, joten se kannattaa tehdä hyvissä ajoin. Ehdoton suositus fine-dining hetkiin!

If you are in Helsinki, you must visit Ragu restaurant. It is simply one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten, and I have met many ones around the world. Their Michelin stars are truly worth and well deserve. The steak is perfect, the fush is different and tasteful, breads as appetizers are simply so wonderful that I could give them 5 stars and stop right in the beginning!

Etukäteen olimme varanneet pöydän lauantai illalle ja söimme kokin yllätysmenun jota voin lämpimästi suositella. Ruoka-allergiat oli myös hienosti otettu huomioon. A superb fine dining experience ! Last night my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal , wonderful wine pairing and wonderful attentive and professional service at Ragu restaurant. We had preordered the Vegan 5 course tasting menu and decided to opt also for the wine pairing to accompany our meal. It was a delightful experience from start to finish and we would definitely recommend Ragu to our friends and to those looking for fine dining Vegan cuisine in Helsinki. The restaurant is easy to find and is a well established and well known eatery by many. We booked a 5pm early table and were impressed to see the restaurant fill up very quickly, creating a lovely atmosphere. The service was superb and very attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes and wines being served this allowed us to fully relax and just enjoy a great evening out and savor the food, drink and atmosphere all the more. The dishes were well thought out and presented. The soup and the main course were particularly nice and ticked all our boxes for flavor and appearance. The wine pairing was an excellent choice too. The dessert wine and the dessert dish itself were on a next level and we could have easily indulged in much more of them both. Needless to say at the end of 5 courses and 5 different wines plus a glass of bubbly to begin with we left Ragu after two and half hours a lot fuller and a lot merrier than when we had arrived. It is extremely good value for money and there were several long tables with family get togethers or work do's being hosted there. We are now looking forward to our next visit in the Spring. A big thank you to all the staff in Ragu both front of house and the back of house chef's for making the evening so wonderful and enjoyable.

A great experience! We tried the surprise Vegetarian menu, 5 course with wines. Must say, the wine pairing with food is just perfect. They serve only Italian wines. They served complimentary breads, some of the most delicious and fresh I’ve had. Then falafel as appetiser, it goes without saying that everything was excellent. Then a pea soup with asparagus followed by a salad and then a portobello main course.And the most awaited was the dessert. Strawberry cake with fresh berries and basil sorbet. Must say, this was a very flavourful combination. The dessert wine was my absolute favourite. Again, it goes without saying, the wines served were some of the best. Finest dinner experience in Helsinki so far!

Manchmal braucht es nicht mehr als fünf Gänge, einen überragenden Kellner und ein Glas Prosecco, das vor lauter Lebensfreude fast von selbst tanzt – und man weiß: Helsinki kann Genuss. Genauer gesagt: das Raku kann es. Dieses kleine kulinarische Juwel in der finnischen Hauptstadt versprüht vom ersten Moment an skandinavisches Flair, wie man es sich als nordisch-romantisierender Mitteleuropäer nur wünschen kann: helles Holz, klare Linien, warmes Licht – hygge, aber ohne Klischee. Bereits der Aperitif – ein Prosecco, so feinperlig, dass er auch als nordisches Polarlicht durchgehen könnte – setzte den Ton für den Abend. Spritzig, verspielt und einfach genau richtig. Dann begann der eigentliche Reigen: ein Fünf-Gänge-Menü, das so stimmig war, als hätte es ein Elch komponiert, der heimlich in Paris zur Kochschule gegangen ist. Jeder Gang war eine kleine Hommage an die Region, mit Zutaten, die frisch wirkten, als wären sie noch vor wenigen Stunden aus einem finnischen Fjord oder Wald geangelt bzw. gepflückt worden. Die Weinbegleitung dazu? Exzellent abgestimmt. Keine Spur von aufgesetztem Snobismus – einfach Weine, die das Essen verstanden haben. Und dann war da noch er – der Kellner. Oder sagen wir besser: der Conférencier unseres Abends. Charmant, witzig, aufmerksam, aber nie aufdringlich. Er führte durch das Menü wie ein guter Freund mit Sommelier-Ausbildung und Timing-Gespür. Er wusste, wann es Zeit für eine kleine Anekdote war – und wann man einfach den Moment schmecken sollte. Abgerundet wurde der Abend mit einem Espresso, der mit solcher Leidenschaft serviert wurde, dass man kurz vergaß, dass man sich im hohen Norden befand – und nicht irgendwo in einem kleinen Café in Rom. So geht europäisches Zusammenspiel eben auch. Fazit: Das Raku in Helsinki ist mehr als ein Restaurant. Es ist ein Ort, an dem man für ein paar Stunden in eine Welt eintaucht, in der Geschmack, Atmosphäre und Gastfreundschaft eine stille, aber deutliche Sprache sprechen. Eine Ode an die Leichtigkeit – skandinavisch klar, aber mit warmem Herz. Wer in Helsinki is(s)t, sollte hierher gehen. Oder wie der Kellner am Ende sagte: “Danke, dass ihr da wart. Es war mir eine Freude.” Uns auch.

ヘルシンキで行ったレストランの中でも特に美味しかったかもしれません。予約をして伺いましたが、店内は広いのに人でいっぱいの人気店でした。 どれも良かったですが、特に最初に出てきたパンの盛り合わせが凄く美味しかったです。同行者はお任せコース、私は自分でメニューを選ぶコースを注文しましたが、うずらとelkは特に絶品でした。 強いて言うなら、同行者が頼んだ4種のおまかせコースの途中に出てきたパスタはハズレでした。塩間違えて入れた？というくらいしょっぱくて、食べるのが大変そうでした。 ただ、全体的にボリュームもあり、大満足の食事となりました。接客もカジュアルな感じで、必要以上に話しかけてこないスタンスなので、食事に集中できました。

Das Ragu-Menü vom 13.12.25 war tadellos, handwerklich gut gemacht, geschmacklich überzeugend, mit Tendenz zu rauchigen Aromen. Der Service war aufmerksam und zugewandt; das Restaurant bietet relativ viele Plätze in lebendiger Atmosphäre, was gelegentlich zu einer lauteren Kommunikation führt.

Ragu is one of those places where everything just feels right. The food is honestly excellent: full of flavor, nicely presented and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was spot on, and you can tell they really pay attention to quality and detail in the kitchen. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, but still stylish. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to stay a bit longer. If you want really good service, ask for Duy. He’s an amazing waiter: friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel welcome. He adds that extra touch that turns a nice dinner into a great evening. Would absolutely recommend Ragu — we’ll definitely be back.

I visited Ragu last year during a business trip to Helsinki and loved it so much that I made a point of returning. The food was just as impressive as I remembered. We chose the surprise tasting menu with wine pairings again, and every dish delivered exactly what we hoped for. The service is usually excellent, though this time our server felt a bit reserved and not very engaging. Some of the explanations about the dishes and wines were given while serving without facing all the guests, so a few details were hard to catch.

We made a reservation and I mentioned about vegan menu for me. There was a vegan option for 3-5 course of vegan food menu. I took 4. Food was very good, not the best I've ever had. There was no 'wow' feeling. I've got better fine-dining food for some other fine-dining restaurants in Finland (those were in Turku). I was pleased for the artichoke-soup and the dessert was nice; chocolatemousse and sourbet. It may sound boring, but it was nicely made and it was not just the 'ice cream and berries' as usual. I also took the wine-menu and there was one class of wine in each course. Serving was very good, waitress was kind and pleasant even we are not 'fine' persons in 'fine' dresses and suits. So thanks for the restaurant for nice evening!

Very modern and relaxed place, lots of customers, super busy but very helpful staffs. We took the ‘surprise menu’, got scallop as starter (yummy), followed by chicken lever soup (not my favorite but other gang just loved it), main course was pork shoulder meat (my piece has lots of fat but otherwise taste is superb), dessert is ice cream! All the courses have excellent presentation. I would go again!

Overall delicious food, especially the pumpkin soup and bread, but long wait times on our 5 course chefs choice. Up to 26 minutes in between courses. Lovely service otherwise, stop by for the soup alone!

Ihana miljöö, yllätys menu juomineen oli oikein hyvä, kalan kanssa ollut viini ei miellyttänyt, mutta se onnistui vaihtaa toiseen. Hieman kiireisen oloista palvelua tällä kertaa, siitä yksi tähti pois.

This restaurant, located in downtown Helsinki, is taking fine dining and mixing it with some Italian and Finnish elements. Starting things up with some drinks: as an Italian, anything outside of a Spritz was out of question, and it was spot on: the quantities were correct, not too dry yet not overwhelmingly sweet. Moving on, the bread table was brought with three different types of bread and four spreads. Everything was made from scratch and fresh, and you could definitely taste it. Speaking of the menu, you can choose between five courses: two starters, two entrees and a dessert, or you can choose the "surprise menu", which is different for each reservation. We opted to order from the menu and took four courses: two starters, an entree and the dessert. When it comes to the drinks, the restaurant had a wide range of wines from all across Italy, so if you know your wine, you'll definitely find something you like. The starters were really good: tasty, with some complementary elements that made the dishes go full circle. In regards to the entree, I took the veal while my wife had the whitefish. The veal was really good, no doubt but it took me some time to go through it as the knife was not sharp enough to cut through the nerves and what not, this is my only pet peeve. As for the whitefish, which I tasted, it was good but there was too much dill for my liking, as I am not really a huge dill fan. For dessert we had strawberry ice cream, and that was really good, fresh and full, a great end to a great meal. Overall, it was a great experience, and I want to give a plus to our waitress who spoke Italian, that was a little great touch that complemented everything.

Syötiin viiden ruokalajin Ludari-menu, joka oli loistava. Palvelu jätti kuitenkin runsaasti toivomisen varaa. Istuimme n. 30 minuuttia alussa kuivin suin ilman vettä tai leipää. Koko illan ajan palvelu oli muutenkin töksähtelevää. Jos palveluasenne ja palvelun mitoitus saadaan kuntoon, niin tässä on varmasti viiden tähden ravintola.

We went here for a work event. Despite booking a table for 6 and arriving with 8 people, the staff quickly sorted our mistake and seated us comfortably. The server convinced us to try the surprise menu, which is exactly what it sounds like. We had the four course option and had jo idea what was coming. The restaurant tailored each dish to the different dietary restrictions and everyone enjoyed the meal. Would recommend and will return.

Molto carino Il locale si trova in pieno centro e devo dire che l'ambiente è molto rilassante. Luci soffuse e arredamento minimal rendono l'atmosfera ideale per una cena romantica. Rincari un pò elevati sui vini ma purtroppo è una cosa comune ai ristoranti finlandesi. Cena nel complesso comunque molto piacevole. Esperienza da consigliare.

5 ruokalajin yllätysmenu sisälsi melko vähän yllätyksiä, annokset olivat toki maukkaita ja kauniita. Varsinaista maku-ilottelua en kokenut. Alkoholittomia vaihtoehtoja ei ehdotettu ollenkaan, vaikka toinen meistä kertoi, että ei käytä ollenkaan alkoa. Ikävä kyllä yksi henkilökunnasta haisi tupakalle. Kokonaisuutena palvelu oli ystävällistä ja osaavaa. Tunnelma ravintolassa rento ja kiireetön.

Tulimme spontaanisti päivälliselle ja otimme viiden ruokalajin yllätysmenun, jota muokattiin hieman minulle allergian vuoksi. Ruoka oli todella hyvää, mutta mielestäni annokset olivat samaan aikaan jopa isoja, tai ainakin tuhteja ja täyteläisiä. Leipä ja ruskistettu voi oli 🤌 Henkilökunnalla oli ehkä vähän hoppu, mutta he pitivät meistä kyllä huolen. Erityismaininta salin tauluista ja taiteellisesta annista! Ragu saattoi olla kokonaisuutena yllätysmenusta huolimatta yllätyksetön, mutta silti niin varmoin ottein erinomainen ruokaelämys.

We wanted to try this restaurant for many years now. When we got in the atmosphere was very nice and the staff that welcomed us was very welcoming. We got a good table and say down. Our waitress came to give us the menu. She was a bit robotic and seemingly just doing this job cause she needed to. Everything was very strict and no emotions involved. Anyhow we ordered and got the starter which was a pasta. We liked the taste. However, the portion was too big for a starter. As for the main dish we had veal sirloin, the meat was as soft as it would get which was great, I loved the garnishes, the roasted cabbage and potatoes were great. The meat itself lacked taste. By this time the waitress got a bit more friendly with us. All in all the restaurant was good and we had a lovely time, the areas that it could be better is the service really. The food was very good. I can recommend this restaurant.

Fuimos para cenar. Restaurante con dos opciones a la carta: menú degustación con 4 o 7 platos y menú sorpresa con 7, con la opción de maridajes en ambos. Local amplio y muy bien decorado. Servicio atento. Los platos que más nos gustaron fueron: el entrante con vieira con salsa de trufa y el reno.

Restaurante con diversos menús a varios precios (y un menú vegetariano si se avisa con antelación, no vegano). Contad alrededor de 50€ y más si queréis el vino con cada plato. El pan es casero y está de muerte. El nivel y el sabor de los platos fue aumentando con cada plato. El servicio fue un poco lento pero el camarero muy simpático. Como duró mucho la cena, nos lo compensaron al final.

Came here on a Monday evening without a reservation and had a lovely 3-course meal. The restaurant is relaxed and cozy. I had the quail leg, moose, and mascarpone dessert - the quail was my favourite, especially with the apple paste. Their butter and malt bread were also a highlight. The only downside was the long wait between courses. Since I was dining alone and seated in a corner, I wasn’t sure if they might have forgotten about me. Still, overall a delicious experience with great flavours.

I recently visited this restaurant with my friend for my dinner birthday, and overall had a pleasant experience, though nothing particularly stood out as exceptional. The service was efficient, but I found it a bit rushed and somewhat commercial in nature—I didn’t quite feel the warmth or personal touch I was hoping for. The starter reindeer was truly enjoyable and well-prepared, but the main course and dessert felt rather average in comparison. The fish, in particular, was a little bland and dry, which was a bit disappointing. It’s a nice spot with potential, and perhaps my expectations were just a little high. Still, I appreciate the effort and hope to see more consistency and warmth in the future. And thank you for the birthday dessert with a candle, I really appreciate it.

The taste was overall decent and the ingredients were in high quality, especially the carpaccio reindeer loin. We also had the surprise menu and it was worth the try. However, the pike perch dish was quite salty to my taste, and the cauliflower mousse with vendace roe was quite bland. Overall experience was nice but a little bit noisy in Friday evening, which made the conversation quite hardly went smoothly. The waitresses were speaking quite fast and could be a little bit more attentive.

Overall experience was good, but I expected more after reading the reviews. The surprise menu was closer to a 4, while the chef’s course was about a 3.5. We ordered 2 chef’s courses and a surprise course, and the latter was excellent. We enjoyed the champagne suggested to us, and the wine was also wonderful. The one thing that detracted slightly from the experience was the service—not because of the staff, who were brilliant and tried their best, but more due to the organization. There was an obvious shortage of staff during dinner. The restaurant was fully booked, and the waitstaff were extremely busy, running from table to table. Both course menus seemed to include many creative dishes and unique food combinations. It would have been great to hear more about each dish. Unfortunately, the staff had very limited time to introduce the courses to us. As I mentioned, it was clear there were too many guests for the few waitstaff on duty

Henkilökunnan vähyys häiritsi iltaa eniten. Isossa salissa kaksi tarjoilijaa hääräsi. Olivat ammattitaitoisia ja ystävällisiä ja lisämyynnin tekokin onnistui. Varauksemme alkoi klo 20.00. Viinit ja alkuleivät saimme klo 20.45. Alkuruoka saapui klo 21.00.... söimme koko leipäkorin nälkäämme. Neljän ruokalajin ateriamme oli ohi klo 22.30. Söimme yllätysmenun ja Ragu-menun. Molemmat menut olivat sikäli hyvät, mutta ei mitään yllättävää tai "wau" elämystä kummallakaan. Kauniit annokset ja kaunis ravintola. Sen verran kuitenkin kallis, että ei kyllä tule uusintakäyntiä.

4 ruokalajin menu. Ruoka ihan hyvää, mutta ei erityistä. Alkupalojen jälkeen kun pääruokaa oli odotettu tunti, oli kysyttävä onko pääruoka tulossa niin sen jälkeen tuli parissa minuutissa. Pienenä hyvityksenä tuli lasilliset kuohuvaa mikä oli positiivinen yllätys.

Ruoka ei vastannut odotuksia. Leipälautanen oli parasta. Palvelu oli erittäin hyvää ja tunnelma hyvä (musiikki hieman liian kovalla).

The service wasn’t as good as the food. Long waiting times to ask the order. The food came with little seasoning and salt. Drinks were very good. I expected more for the price we paid.

The waitress recommended surprise menu for me although I wanted to have the other since it had plenty of seafood and lamb. Given my dietary restrictions of naturally gluten free and low lactose diet combined with a wish not to eat raw meat or seafood. So I followed the recommendation as I was told that so the chef could really take into consideration my wishes and they didn’t need to leave any components out. Well I got only one dish with seafood and no meat whatsoever. Moreover while the nut flavored first dish was ok, it was odd and the combination didn’t work, so 2 stars. The next one with rice ball and veggies was really disgusting and honestly tasted simply really bad, same goes with the dessert with almonds and orange sorbet where the components simply didn’t go along at all, for those two I’d give one star. Lastly the soup and fish were good, not great as they only had some components that very really nice while others were disappointing. While the veggies in the fish dish and the sauce in the soup were delicious the rest were just ok, so 3 stars from those. A major minus for serving mayonnaise as the souse in two dishes and no real sauce in any of them. And really disappointing how a restaurant with lobster, multiple seafood options, lamb etc isn’t able to prepare any of them if asked for ’not raw’ option. Having been here twice now, I don’t see any reason to return as both times the food has really been an understatement for what a restaurant can do!

Vierailimme uutena vuotena ravintolassa, ja kokemus oli suurelta osin pettymys. Tunnelma ravintolassa oli kiva, vaikkakin melko meluisa. Ruoan laatu oli suurin pettymyksen aihe. Menun alkuruoka ja ensimmäinen lautanen olivat käytännössä sama annos eri muodossa. Pääruoka oli kuiva ja ylikypsä. Jälkiruoka oli tarjoilun paras osa. Viinivalikoima oli toisaalta erittäin hyvä! Ravintolalla on paljon potentiaalia, mutta ruoan hinta-laatusuhde oli pielessä.

En taida olla antanut huonoa arviointia missään koskaan, mutta jos kesken ruokailun haluaisi jo lähteä niin ei kai muutakaan voi. Ruoka oli oikein hyvää. Otimme 4 ruokalajin menuun viineillä. Maut sopivat hienosti yhteen juomien kanssa. Ympäristö taas oli huonoin, jossa ole tähän ikään (50) mennessä törmännyt ja olen sentään ollut porilaisessa matkustajakodissa syömässä. Pöytä oli käytävällä, näköala likaisiin tiskeihin. Henkilökunta ravasi jatkuvasti vieressä ja yhden kerran jopa piti palaveria venytellen pöydän ääressä eli hyvin rauhaton tunnelma. Olimme ilmeisesti häiritsemässä heitä. Positiivinen juttu oli, että tuli huomattua ympäristön merkitys hyvälle ravintolakokemukselle.
