Ramenkoko Highland Reviews
Definitely the best Ramen spot in the IE that we’ve tried so far! It’s been a while since we were last here but it’s about time I left a review. They seemed to have expanded their menu options and have added more appetizers and bowl options which is really nice! We loved the appetizers - see photos! Large portion size for the price. We tried the same appetizer at another ramen place and the price was waaay more for basically 1/4 of this serving size and it was like eating microwaved food. So this exceeded our expectations. Nice and crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside. The ramen was delicious!! The broth and toppings were perfect! For those who can’t handle spicy, their spicy (two scoops of red spice) could be a little too spicy. The chili oil could probably give you more flavor. I usually get the creamy vegetarian ramen which comes with a decent amount of toppings and thick chunks of tofu, which is totally filling. I love how they have options for regular noodles and spinach noodles. I recently tried the truffle shoyu Ramen, which had a mushroom/soy base. I usually like things spicy but I decided to try this dish without extra spices. I think I liked the creamy vegetarian Ramen more due to the depth in the flavor of that Ramen base. I love how this place gives you a decent amount of toppings that already come with the Ramen aside from having to manually pay for each individual topping that you want into the Ramen. You can still add other toppings which cost around a dollar. I think the price is reasonable for the portion size. The staff here are friendly and provide prompt service. The place was definitely very clean and organized.
This nice little ramen spot in Highland is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! I went for a spicy tonkotsu ramen which I usually get. The broth was rich and savory and paired well with the thin noodles and soy sauce egg (my favorite part of any ramen bowl). The pork belly was not too fatty, and portioned well. One thing that could be worked on about the broth is that it’s a bit salty but not too overpowering. Spice level was perfect for my tastes as well. You can even get free ice cream for signing in on Yelp! Really great service and food. Really is a gem in Highland!
Delicious. Amazing ramen. They have great flavor. And the decor is just the cherry on top. It’s very clean and the staff are very welcoming. A lot of people tend to struggle with customer service but not her. These guys are legit and are constantly checking up on us. Prices are definitely fair and I’m just glad we’ve found a tasty spot so close to the house. Can’t wait to go back. Just writing this review made my mouth water lol 😂.
Great place, great food! The first time I went there it was to dine in and had an awesome experience. The second time was to go. It's the kind of place that anything you get will taste good, no matter what you order. Very flavorful. All nicely packaged. Will be back many more times.
Its definitely a place you go to hang out with friends and socialize. I liked that part of the environment. I got the tonkotsu ramen and it was good. It had different ingredients than I am used to but it was very delicious. Would recommend.
Delicious ramen and fantastic service. I've become obsessed with ramen as of late, but haven't found a place that really has impressed me; until today. I've been hearing about RamenKoKo since we moved to Highland about a year ago and finally followed up to the claims today. The place is a small, inviting restaurant with only a handful of tables and mostly American movie posters from Japan lining the walls. It's charming and the staff greeted us immediately. The menu is small and easy to figure out, which is great for me as im still new to japanese food, but is full of intriguing dishes and appetizers. We orders edamame and gyoza to start. The gyoza was perfectly cooked and didn't disappoint and the edamame came coated in a garlic chili paste that was so good I could eat it by itself with a spoon. My wife got a garlic pork rice bowl and I ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen. I love pork and have been wanting to try real tonkatsu ramen since learning about it last year (thanks to Mike Chen on YouTube) I also ordered some miso broth as I have never had it and really wanted to try it. The rice bowl was good, slightly sweet and the pork was great. The miso broth impressed me and was super salty and delicious. The star of the show was my tonkatsu ramen. The broth is so rich and flavorful and is only improved when you add the chili paste to the broth. The pork belly on top was crazy good and once you dive into this dish you don't want to stop until your sniffling and full. The spice level was perfect and I truly cannot describe how tasty the broth is. I tried the thin noodles and they were good, but they have other options and I'll be trying those next time. I can't forget about the service and staff too. They were all so polite and attentive and helpful that it makes you appreciate the people who take their jobs seriously and provide that kind of service. Overall, great experience with fantastic food and service. I cannot wait to go back and eat through the rest of their menu!
Great food and great customer service! A pleasant experience all around and the prices were reasonable. We ordered the vegetarian ramen and spicy chicken rice plate. will be back!
This is my favorite Ramen spot. I used to get the tonkatsu, which was fire! But we no longer eat pork. The vegetarian ramen is honestly amazing. I’ve tried other places since because of their schedule, but no other place comes close to theirs. It’s creamy and delicious. Sometimes I question how they make it so good. Service is always great. I love that they have a kids ramen meal. My daughter gets to enjoy her own ramen giving me the freedom to add spice to my bowl and not worry about having to share it. This has become our family’s comfort food staple when we’re craving ramen. It’s not a big place but they’ve accommodated our party of 15 one time. We recommend this place to all our family and friends. I’m not sure why I hadn’t written a review here before. If you come here and never considered trying the vegetarian ramen; I say DO It! You won’t be dissatisfied.
This place was amazing! Staff were great, and food was amazing. First experience with Ramen, but went with someone who knew good ramen, and let me tell you, IT WAS DELICIOUS! Very well priced, large portions. Very satisfied!
Best ramen in the ie.!!! Love this place!!! Have been coming year 1/2…!!! And still our go to ramen. Noodles are delicious, soup is delicious, spice is perfect.! Staff is always so nice. Out of our time coming here never encountered a mean person. They are always so happy and helpful.
The spicy konkotsu with pork belly was sooooo flavorful. Noodles were on point along with the boiled egg. Might have to ask for extra extra spicy next time. Mark was an excellent waiter. Checked on us multiple times. Great atmosphere, great customer service and overall awesome ramen spot. Will be coming back.
DELICIOUS!!!! TY for serving the best ramen 🍜 ❤ I got the original and let me tell you so much flavor in the broth. The chicken was cooked perfectly and so was the egg. Highly recommended this place. I live 1 hours away and I will come back for this soup!

My sis and I usually drive out to grand terrace for Ramen but this place was just as delicious as our other spot 🔥 placed a pick up order and it was ready in 10min!!!! Now that's customer service 💯. We ordered the miso ramen, gyozas, and fried calamari 🐙 and it was SOOOO DELICIOUS 😋🤤 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Staff was very friendly. Food taste good. Love the broth. Could work on a bit more protein though. Great portion size for the affordable price. I love the fact that they didn't super-sized it with Increased price like other restaurant during inflation. Will recommend to family/ friend and come back..
This place rocks! 🪨 I wont be able to go to other ramen spots because this place blows them away. Great service, great music, and great value 👍
I came for lunch on a cold rainy day at around 1:45 pm. I for had forgotten that last calls around 1: 30pm. I don't know if it was the owner or the cook but in seeing my disappointment he graciously allowed me, after they were already closed, to sit down and have a bowl of fresh ramen while he cleaned up the kitchen. It was awesome customer service and of course the ramen was delicious!
First time here 10/10 the food was really good the ramen came out nice and hot... the chicken so soft and moist and it came with toppings included with the price. I don't remember my servers name but everyone there was kind

I’ve been coming to Ramen Koko for a few years now, and it’s consistently been one of my favorite spots for ramen. The broth is always rich and flavorful, the service is friendly and welcoming every time. Lately, though, I’ve noticed a few occasions where the pork belly has been a bit mangled or unevenly cut. It’s a small detail, but something I hope the kitchen can tighten up, since the quality here has always been one of the reasons I keep coming back. Overall, still a great place with excellent ramen — I just hope they bring the consistency back to their usual high standards!
Ramen = 3/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance= 5/5 This was my first experience here. I want to give recognition to the solo server. She handled orders, served, and lightly cleaned the restaurant as she went. Service and restaurant ambience and cleanliness was a solid 5/5 here. I tipped for this alone. The ramen, however, while quite delicious overall, I found the broth to be a bit lacking in flavor... but everything from the egg to the meat, even the bamboo (which I don't normally take into account) was quite delicious all things considered... hence the odd 3.5 rating. Perhaps I'll order with add-ons next time to raise the broth flavor to my liking. Overall a 4.3 out of 5. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the neighborhood again.

This ramen place is okay. They go a little heavy on the pepper, and it’s not super authentic, but it still tastes fine. In the summer, they give out free ice cream—you just have to ask for it.

The customer service is horrible tried this place two times because the food is good like really good but I will not be eating there again the waiters are horrible and the black waiter there is the worst. He acted like we were not even going to give a tip, he purposely put that we wanted extra hot on our food to the point we’re the food was not edible. The other server was good do but theirs two waiters that make this place unbearable. They don’t pay attention to you and they give you attitude. The food is great so I am not hating the restaurant I am hating the service. I feel bad for the owner I will not eat their again, but try maybe you guys get a different service the food is bomb

We typically love this place, but today was not the best service. On Google it says they close at 2pm and reopen at5, I totally get it. But we called around 1pm and no answer, so we showed up & the sign at the door said they will reopen at 5pm. Ok… I messaged on IG & someone replied at told me that it’s 6pm for reopen… ok we’ll be back. We got here at 6:25, I ordered the 1st of the 4 meals, he asks “what protein do I want” & i reply with “chicken”. We proceed to order the rest of the meals, when the guy tells me “oh we ran out of chicken”, we don’t eat pork (unless it’s bacon) & all the had was tofu… we don’t eat tofu. So we ordered the pork on the side, we’ll try it. My biggest complaint is this, you had ample time to resupply and go buy chicken before you reopen at 6, why not prepare? Poor management on food supply. My wife asked if she could sub the pork for an egg or two, “no you already have an egg with your bowl”… we know, she’d rather eat an extra egg than pork. This was for a Birthday celebration, we adjusted our lunch to dinner, the food is good (not knocking that). We even waited that extra hour… but you can’t simply restock your protein supply before you open? There is a Costco down the street that just opened, they have everything you need. I know they shop at smart and final, I see the big box of eggs from there on you’re counter. I think it’s time to have the family try other options, the norm ain’t as good as it used to be to be… & after a 45min wait (they said 25-30) we’ll see how it tastes . I ordered extra noodles & spicy paste, my side of pork was also not there …. I had to drive back in the pouring rain. By the time I got back home my family was almost done eating, my food was cold. Looking at the staff (since I had time to observe) the guys in the back are very slow paced, food industry is fast paced, they have no sense of urgency… I really hope they turn it around, even though my food was cold and I made several trips there the food was good.
