Café Poppy Hopland Reviews
Wonderful stop for coffee and a break while on a roadtrip. Hopland, Cali is a cute little wine town and Cafe Poppy was a charming piece of this town. We got some pretty good coffee and scones and enjoyed a break in their cute setting area. During Christmas season it was decorated so cutely too!
Wow. The aesthetics in this cute place was perfection. The girl at the counter was so chill and had a great calming vibe about her and the music playing made me feel like I was in a completely different place. This is by far the cutest cafe I’ve visited in years and I travel a lot. The coffees were delicious and the choice in milk alternatives were good. We bought the biscuits and savory scones and I could smell it all the way up the stairs in my hotel room. This whole place is a gem! If you are in town it’s a must!
This place is beautiful . The staff is very friendly and helpful . The breakfast burrito was the best . The atmosphere is unbelievable . If you're ever going through hopland you have to stop.
Great little coffee shop along the main road. It’s inside a beautiful hotel.

As an Australian, visiting, they actually made the best coffee we have tried so far in CA. Lovely friendly service, and the quality, freshness of the food, again, well above what we have so far sampled elsewhere. Cheers, thanks
Such a delicious latter and friendly service. I stopped for a coffee, my sis was staying at the Thatcher. We sat on comfy couches in a library and had as much time as we wanted to chat. LOVE this place. I will stop when I drive through every time.
Really, really nice people, very helpful, really reasonably priced for this area, and I really enjoyed my iced Americano. And the vibe here is super cool. I will definitely stop here the next time I come through town, which I do a few times a year.
Try the gyro nachos they are delicious! Great setting to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, pastry or simple, lunch or breakfast
Cute cafe. Good beans, good people and good vibez. Got in this evening after a long drive and the waitress from next door slid over and made me an espresso shot to save my life. The cafe was closed but still accessible so what a clutch act of kindness. Highly recommend to anybody
Cafe Poppy is an absolute gem! Not only is everything homemade and delicious, but the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and genuinely kind. The entire staff is polite, courteous, and friendly a rare combo that makes every visit feel special. Carly especially went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of with a smile. 13/6 Dentist would recommend.
I had the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had!!! So yummy. The coffee was amazing! I will definitely come again;)
We were very happy with all the Poppy had to offer. We had coffee every morning and sandwiches at the pool. The only slightly sad part was that our sandwiches did not come on baguettes as advertised but wheat bread (that I can't have). A heads-up would have been nice so we could have ordered something else. Other than that, we are looking forward to coming back

We have been wanting to try this place for a while after reading excellent reviews for the breakfast. When our first item arrived, our anticipation seemed justified. The guava cream cheesy pastry was delicious, light and tasty. The coffee was also pretty good. The orange juice was the first indication that all was not well. It tasted like watered-down concentrate. The waffle was squishy. I tried to order one of the breakfast biscuits, but was told that despite it being after 10am they hadn’t made the biscuits yet. I’m not sure when they are expecting people to eat breakfast, but that struck me as a little late. I opted for the prosciutto and fig panini. At $18, I had expected more than the flat, meagerly filled sandwich I got. The mixed greens that accompanied were fresh and tasty, but overall it was overpriced and disappointing. Should have stopped at the pastry and coffee. One star for friendly service. One for the ambience. Just one for the food.
First time there everything was great, hot Chai & delicious scones. Second time, no baked goods but cookies are "ready in 2 miutes, we have one scone left from yesterday". Thought what the heck, will take the last scone, 2 cookies and a hot chai....$21 dollars. Small town, I get it plus now a days, whats affordable anymore. Unfortunately chai was luke warm, cookies weren't baked through, scone was mediocre. Probably won't be back a 3rd time unfortunately.
Good egg sandwich but PAPER cups, plates and silverware. It doesn't match the high-end decor! That's too bad.

5 star atmosphere, friendly staff and price but 2 star food and coffee quality. The eggs were overcooked and dry in the breakfast sandwich and burrito. Coffee tasted like gas station brew. Overall way too overpriced for what it was. I also found it weird that even though we ordered it NOT to-go, they gave us paper plates and coffee cup, even though we could see they had “for here” dishes.. not a fan of the single use when it is unnecessary.
Six dollars for black coffee is pretty steep, but I get it. Inflation... blah blah. If you are going to charge six dollars for a coffee though, it ought to be at least a decent cup of joe. Right? My coffee may well have just been dirty hot water. Were they out of beans that day?? The lady behind the counter had a nice smile and good energy. Very cool rocks and whatnot inside of the cafe as well.
The hotel and cafe is beautiful. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. We had their warm beverages in the past and those are good. However, we tried their lunch menu and it is massively overpriced for the food you receive. I had a sandwich on a baguette with a few slices of salami and a few pickles (literally nothing more) and it was about fifteen dollars while my partner had a sandwich that was twelve dollars and had nothing special about it including the presentation and they did not taste very good as well. Respectfully, we could have got cheaper and better tasting sandwiches at Safeway. We will probably never go back. It was $35 dollars for two sandwiches and a small piece of zucchini bread for our daughter. The sandwiches also took about 15 plus minutes to come out and they literally were not any special made bread or anything.

The muffin tasted and felt easily 3 days old, stale, chewy and flavorless. The coffee bitter and the shots short. Super disappointing as the staff seem lovely. The food and drink however were inedible.
