Antidote Coffee Houston Reviews
Stopped in to meet up with old friends, what a great little hang out! The barista even made a special secret menu dirty latte for me! Thanks!
Cozy atmosphere, the cashier was very nice and helpful, and I got the elderberry hibiscus tea which was very yummy! I don’t live near but would drive out to study here again!
I came last night and ordered pistachio latte. It was one of my favorites and the cashier was nice. Will come back.
It comes in the way whenever I visit the hospital for treatment and I always stop there for coffee. Good ambiance and friendly staff. Recommend.
Honestly a great, affordable, and low-key place to do work at, grab a coffee, or a beer, even pretty late in the day. The staff is friendly, and there’s decent pastry options if you’ve got some munchies. There’s good seating, outlets, and wifi for working. Outdoors there’s generous seating with a fan that makes it bearable even on warmer summer nights. This place is also motorcycle and bike friendly, with parking in front for both.
Chill spot with great coffee and good vibes Came to Antidote Café with a friend to chat about business and ended up really enjoying the vibe. The place was quiet, cool, and full of people reading or working on laptops—perfect for a low-key meeting or just catching up. I had a latte that was smooth and rich, and it hit the spot. The staff were super friendly and relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Also loved that they serve beer and wine—definitely coming back to try that during happy hour. Not flashy, but it feels real and welcoming. A solid spot to think, talk, or just enjoy a great cup of coffee.
I'm a city bike rider, it was my first time in this neighborhood in 30+ years in Houston. Learned a few things, they're cashless. I couldn't taste the food cuz I only had cash on me. Since the barista had already served my cup, one his recommendations on grains, he allowed me to keep and enjoy the coffee cup for free. I felt double embarrassed, he wouldn't take my money and then he said he couldn't give me the peanut "better" 🍪 I had also ordered with my coffee. I will definitely come back for that cookie and I'll bring a 💳 ☝️😂😎
Antidote Coffee Shop is a hidden gem that not only serves exceptional coffee but also offers an overall delightful experience. Stepping into this cozy haven, the charming Christmas decorations instantly set the festive tone. The attention to detail in the decor reflects the dedication to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for patrons. The moment you enter, the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, creating an instant sense of comfort. The staff, with their infectious smiles and friendly demeanor, add a layer of charm to the entire experience. It's not just a coffee shop; it's a place where the staff's warmth becomes a part of the ambiance. What makes Antidote stand out is the speed of service without compromising on quality. Despite the bustling energy, your order is swiftly prepared and served, ensuring you can savor your coffee without unnecessary delays. The efficiency of the service complements the overall positive vibe of the place. The holiday decorations during my visit added an extra layer of joy to the experience. The festive spirit was not just limited to the exterior; even the interior was adorned with tasteful Christmas decor, creating a picturesque setting that made my visit feel like a cozy escape from the everyday hustle. In conclusion, Antidote Coffee Shop is a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts seeking more than just a caffeine fix. The amazing coffee, coupled with the cute staff, fast service, and the enchanting Christmas decorations during the holiday season, creates an atmosphere that lingers in your memory, making every visit a delightful escape.
Vibe- another cozy coffee shop in the greater heights area! There’s so many colorful little patio tables outside and a good amount of seating inside as well. This is the sister coffee shop to Black Hole Coffee House in Montrose. Customer service- Amazing! The barista that helped me was kind. Food/drinks- I got a hot pumpkin spice latte with oatmilk and it’s one of the best I’ve had at any coffee shop!! Parking- There’s about 15 or so parking spots in the lot and some parking on the street.
DEFINITELY A "MUST GO" IF YOU ARE IN HOUSTON! This review is based on my experience and personal opinion: I am a regular of the Antidote Café, very nice place indeed. I decided to wait for the Covid-19 pandemic to sort of go away to write a review about them, so that I would be able to be fair and more accurate. Like I said we are regulars of this small but lovely café situated in the Houston heights district, when I'm in town we go at least twice a week. We absolutely LOVE their Latte and their Chai Latte.... This is NO fancy place by no means.... It is a very simple place, with few pieces of furniture and the furniture are sort of worn/old furniture. It is randomly furnished, no specific style but I find this place sort of whimsical and very relaxing. Very friendly, Very Comfy, Very Relaxing, Very.... forget about your problems for a few.... If you look at the pictures you can see they have two main sitting areas, one is inside and one is outside. the sitting area inside has two big comfy couches among other furniture and a long bench against the wall if you like that kind of seat. so whether you are alone or with friends you can still find your place here. Outside they have quite a few small tables where you two people can have a remarkable breakfast. so, whether you come in the morning, afternoon or evening, you can select the best seat for your needs. When it's chilly or rainy, you can seat inside and disappear in those soft couches.... I love that. Sitting on a soft couch while holding a hot Chai Latte....mmmm.... paradise to me. They have a selection of Coffee based drinks, hot or iced, and If you do not drink Milk you can select Almond, Oatmeal, Soy or Coconut Milk (great substitutes). Also they have a selection of pastries/deserts available and some seriously delicious Oatmeal + raisins cookies (so Yummy). Now you can find more products available for sale, like Coffee beans, ground Coffee mix, and many other products. They have restrooms and they are always clean, which makes your Coffee break definitely more relaxing. The stuff consist of one Employee only and he/she is always super nice and super friendly. Me and my Wife love her/him. (Now that I think about it, we have been served by someone else too... but cant remember her face). The Café is located in the Heights district of Houston, very nice area and not far from the Café is Studemont Park, a very nice city park..... you can go to Antidote grab your favorite hot or iced Coffee based drink and go drink it at the Park..... mmmm... cherry on the cake!!!! For you to know, the same person owns a Café called "The Black Hole" that is locate close to Montrose, so downtown and that's a very relaxing place too. CONCLUSIONS: Go, relax and forget about your problems at least for the time it takes you to drink a medium Latte :D
Cute little spot with great coffee. The cajeta latte was a standout. Light in flavor, not overpowering at all and tasted like authentic cajeta, not some artificial syrup.
The space is super cozy and they easily have on of my favorite coffees, you need to try their cajeta latte! 10/10 I just wish they had better parking but other than that this is a neighborhood staple!
I went to this place with a friend for a Bible Study, and it was perfect for that. It’s a very quiet spot, small but cozy. They offer a variety of desserts, and the prices are reasonable. I really enjoyed my experience here. The only downside is that parking is quite difficult to find!
The black coffee was scalding hot and the flavor had been baked from it by the time it was cool. That cost $3.79 for 16 ounces. Barista was drawing at the register and pretended to not hear me clearly order only a black coffee until they were ready to take the order... Annoying.
Always came here for the Cajeta latte, which was funky and delicious. Ample seating with a great garden area and plenty of room indoors. However, don't expect miracles with traditional coffee staples; I ordered a flat white and came out disappointed. The milk was too hot, and the espresso wasn't dialed in adequately, leading to a bitter beverage. For a coffee shop in such a competitive location, I'd really expect a better experience from such a staple beverage. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth to give out a simply "okay" review, as service has always been great here and I've had a few enjoyable drinks. Hopefully my next venture over will encourage me to update my score.
I have been a long time everyday customer for years. I had never had a complaint until recently. A new employee has handled me with rudeness and disrespect. When I made 2 complaints with the manager I was told the next day that they would no longer serve me. I have literally been going there daily (2-3 times a day) for 12-14 years, never had a problem with any employee prior to this. Yet instead of contacting me about my complaint I was told not to come back. My reason for posting this is in hopes of having one of the owners attention in this matter. And to see if they support it.
