Bad Astronaut Brewing company Houston Reviews
Came to see Authority Zero and Voodoo Glow Skulls. This was awesome! I have been to many venues in Houston for shows large and small. This place had the GREATEST staff. Every employee I interacted with was super kind, helpful, and seemed genuiely happy to be there. They provide water for concert-goers to help combat the Houston heat. The beer and mixed drink prices were reasonable, and they were delicious. Even the band commented on how much they liked the space and how glad they were to be there. It was a great experience, and I'd gladly come back to see more concerts here!
Went here for a metal concert and yeah it was amazing. The mixing engineer did fantastic and the sound was clear and well executed. Food looked great, I didn’t eat anything but saw lots of people chowing down and there was lots of seating to get comfortable at to eat. The drinks were amazing. My friend said he wanted to go back just to get some more of their beer it was THAT good. They also had non alcoholic options for my gf that worked out fantastic.
There isn't food so that's why it's blank. We visited Bad Astronaut 4 times so far and 3 of those times this week! We came for the metal shows. Ease of parking all the parking is pretty close, ease of getting into the venue/ ticketing part and i really like how we can go to the lobby part between sets for pool, air hockey, foosball, basketball games and often there are other vendors in the lobby area too, not to mention a couple good food trucks. After the show is over and you walk out to get to your car, the city skyline is all lit up so we like to take pictures of it :) All in all becoming our new favorite venue.
Very good! Nice and clean! Love the warehouse look. Staff was very nice and did well and the beers were cold lol. Great venue for a show! Great acoustics and sound quality for live shows. This is a quality spot!!
The “Ink Slingers Tattoo Convention,” hosted at Bad Astronaut Brewery, delivered a memorable experience that seamlessly blended artistry, community, and hospitality. My studio participated in this event & offered a laid-back and welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal setting for both enthusiasts and families alike. The venue itself proved to be a highlight. Bad Astronaut Brewery not only provided ample space for artists and attendees but also featured family-friendly entertainment options. From engaging games to the option of catching a live sports game, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The brewery’s selection of craft beers deserves a special mention—diverse, well-curated, and sure to satisfy a wide range of palates. Whether you’re a fan of hoppy IPAs or prefer something smoother and malt-forward, their tap list makes it easy to discover a new favorite. Overall, the experience was exceptional. The thoughtful curation of the event, combined with the comfortable setting and excellent refreshments, made for an enjoyable day for both myself and my family. It’s an event worth attending and a venue worth revisiting.
It was my first time there for the Punk Rock Garage sale and it was nice and apart from the air tables , hoops , table games and food truck ... the staff was super friendly and helpful Being how my group had not tried their brews they not only described but gave samples to find your taste . They have more than enough space to just sit back and enjoy a beer or your liking ( to call it just a beer is an understatement ) On this day they were dog friendly which was a plus for me ( but not certain if that's always so maybe call and ask ) All in all great time , will have to go back to try the rest of the selections 😃
As someone born and raised in Bavaria—the birthplace of Helles—I can say with absolute confidence that the lager Helles at Bad Astronaut is exceptional. It captures everything a true Helles should embody: a beautifully clear golden color, a crisp yet smooth body, and a perfectly balanced malt sweetness with just the right touch of noble hop bitterness. What impressed me most is the authenticity. Too often, Helles brewed outside of Germany lean too heavy in one direction—either overly sweet or too hoppy. This one, however, shows true respect for Bavarian brewing tradition. It’s refreshing, clean, and dangerously drinkable, exactly the kind of beer you want to enjoy all afternoon with good company. For me, this is more than just a beer—it’s a taste of home. If you’re searching for a world-class Helles without booking a flight to Munich, you’ll find it here. Ten stars without hesitation. Prost! 🍻
Great beer selection, they have something for everyone. Awesome place to hang out with friends, love the pool tables/shuffle board/basketball but also there is plenty of room to spread out and chat. I love that they are open late though it does get busy when there is a show, it still took minimal time to get through the line. They always have a food truck if you don't want to leave. The parking lots tend to fill on show nights but there is plenty of street parking. So happy to have this place nearby!
Went here for a show (Rickshaw Billie's Burger Patrol). It was my first time and I had a lot of fun. Cool aesthetics and plenty to do. The acoustics in the room arent the best, but it contributes to a real, raw, DIY punk feel. Sound engineer could go a little easier on the reverb, but I'm sure its a tough room to operate, especially with the type of bands I was there to see (lots of distortion, bass heavy, doom riffs). I was close to the barricade too, so take that into consideration. Probably the most mild-mannered, friendly security staff I've seen at a Houston venue. Kudos to those lads. They really were doing their best to make sure everyone was safe and having a good time.
Stop #7 on our Houston cidery & brewery exploration: Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. Love the space theme — “Houston, we don’t have a problem” with this one. A good selection of beer, plenty of room for large crowds, and lots to keep everyone entertained. Pool tables, foosball, ping pong, basketball hoops, and even air hockey make this a very family-friendly stop. Fun atmosphere, lively energy, and a great place to hang out for a while.
Good evening, everyone. I wanted to share my experience from yesterday's visit to the Bad Astronaut Brewing Company, where I attended the Bedrock City Minicon. The event featured a commendable selection of vendors. However, I did observe some concerning business practices. Specifically, I witnessed an individual attempting to acquire a collection, and during my presence, they endeavored to significantly undervalue items from a seller who was exiting the business. This particular interaction was quite unsettling. Despite this, I was able to acquire some desirable items, and I trust the remainder of the event proceeded smoothly after my departure. My acquisitions included the new Phantom Rider Marvel Legends figure, obtained at a very competitive price, and a Superpowers Superman figure, inspired by the Fleischer cartoons of the '40s.
BGirl City annual competition was held this year at Bad Astronaut Brewery and it's a great event to check out. The event itself offers workshops, shopping, DJ's and amazing breakdance battles. The energy is 🔥💥🔥 The venue itself is fairly large and there's plenty of complementary street parking (I went on a Sunday afternoon) Unfortunately, I did not get to try their concessions/bar but I look forward to on my next visit. We had a great experience at this event, the venue is cool, and I will definitely visit again.
This is a great location for just wanting to have a drink by yourself or with some friends. They have a game section for the kiddos. I go for their concerts there and it's a great venue. Last night they were holding a bingo night with vendors available. While I went for a concert there, I was interested in going back for a bingo night, it looked like a lot of fun.
Went at 11am on a Saturday, bartender was really nice, the stout was awesome, and free ping pong, shuffleboard, corn hole, pool, air hockey, and basketball game for customers. Plenty of parking in their lot across the street and we had a great time, haven't been for a music event but I've heard great things.
I had a really nice experience at Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and it’s a great place to hang out with friends. The beer selection is solid, with a few standout options that are definitely worth trying. Staff were friendly and helpful, even during a busy time.
I went to support my friend Jess and her Market that she hosts the first Saturday of every month. She owns Thorn and Moon and it was wonderful! Plenty of space and a stage for the burlesque performances as well as kid friendly until 9:00 pm. The venue is a great place to bring your family and guests from out of town as the view of down town is amazing!! I didn’t have any food or anything to drink but water (which was free and abundantly available) so I can’t speak to their menu items or specialty drinks.
I did not eat any food there. But I do d have a few beers other than being a little pricey for just a 12oz cup of beer. That did taste very good. And there only being one restroom for what I would like to say about 600 people ( maybe a little less than that but I am just guessing on the amount of people) is not a good idea. The line to use the restroom was crazy and as some of you will know when drinking you will have to go to the restroom and waiting in a line could mean a lot of mistakes. And the area where the bands play is very well thought out the sound was good even if I think it was a little low volume wise. But the sound guy was spot on in the mix. I had a good time just needs more restrooms. And please lower the price of the beer please. And the foosball tables are a wreck men are missing or broken the poles are super sticky making it hard to make any good shots. These are the only issues I had other than that this place is pretty cool
We came here as we were in Houston for the day and the reviews were good. This was not a pleasant experience. It a big place and was mostly empty aside for a reception on the far end. Probably because it was about 2pm. Despite being empty I felt rushed to order. I have never been here and wanted to know what was popular. I had one drinker skipped out on food to leave for another brewery.
If I could rate lower than 1 star I would. Last time I came here I saw a staff member yelling at a young girl. Now the most recent time I came staff was so rude and condescending to my friends and I! And rude to a family that had gotten there a little earlier than us all because one of them asked if they could have water. What a shame, supposed to be a cool spot but the staff absolutely ruined it for me. I tried to ignore what other people were saying about this spots staff thinking that maybe they just had a random bad experience however the past two times I’ve gone proved what everyone around me tried warning me about.
