Ciro's Italian Grill Houston Reviews
Good food and excellent service by Mr.Peter. Definitely we recommend it especially if he served you.
Beautiful place, excellent service Food very tasteful and cooked perfect served hot. Shrimp big and tender. Ravioli mouth watering goodness. Lots of desserts to choose from but they have an awesome twist to their coconut pie you will not want to share. You will enjoy yourself here and keep coming back.
The waiter was very polite and attentive. The food was very good. Very flavorful and good portions.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing experience at Ciro’s Italian Grill! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely delicious, and everything came out perfectly cooked. Our waiter, Peter, truly made the evening exceptional. He was attentive without being overbearing, friendly, and had great recommendations for both food and wine. He made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to ensure our dinner was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommend Ciro’s for anyone looking for great Italian food and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back—and we’ll be asking for Peter!
I want to thank Ciro's Italian Grill for being such a generous sponsor of the last 2 senior pickleball tournaments! All of the swag, hats, shirts, gift cards....and the yummy food...THANK YOU, Ciro's, for supporting this area's pickleball community!!!
Very good food, love the gelato. Great atmosphere and service. Highly recommend!
Always nice. Enjoyed pizza and calamari salad w a bottle of Malbec. Perfect for late evening dinner sharing.
My group are friends since 1970 and had a wonderful time catching up. The waitstaff were so kind and let us just talk and enjoy each others memories without a rush. Food was delicious. Mario was great!!
Last Friday, wanting to try some Italian taste, (real taste!) we had a late lunch with friends and try Ciro’s, following an advise and believe me when I tried the Arugula and Gorgonzola salad, I realized that the food was supreme at Ciro’s, and on top of that, Romina hosted us like kings !!!! What a great experience that motivated us to meet at Ciro’s again. We had also had the Ossobuco on gnocchi and literally we licked our fingers!!!!!
OMG!! I have a food coma right now.. everything was so so so amazing. Came here for Easter Sunday, no reservation just as a walk in with my family. The hostess very welcoming and quick to seat us. Our waiter was “Tio Peter Bianchi” I call him Tio because he made us feel like family. First time dinning at Ciro’s and between service and food made our Easter dinner so so special. We trusted Peter with our food selections and he did not disappoint, everything was amazing. I will definitely make this our regular Italian spot, food exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, definitely recommend to come out and enjoy a date night or just a family Sunday dinner with the kids, ask for “Tio Peter Bianchi” he’s super amazing. Thank you Ciro’s family for making our Easter Sunday memorable ❤️😘❤️😘
Went here for an early Valentine's Day celebration with my wife. Had the Fried Calamari appetizer, the Straw and Hay "Gina", the Spinach and Garlic Tortellini with shredded rotisserie chicken and Tiramisu for dessert. Our server took good care of us. Atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant and a little on the formal side. Food was excellent and we had a good time. The complimentary bread (warm flatbread with olive oil dip) was different from other places and was very nice. First time and this place is now in our top 3 for Italian.
We had a large party celebrating a birthday. We reserve the upper room, which is spacious and set apart from the rest of the restaurant. It was very nice & we enjoyed having our privacy. The service was great! The food was delicious. The overall vibe of the restaurant is very nice. My kids kept calling it "fancy". There was a terrace area that we walked over to enjoy and allowed our kids to run around and enjoy the space while we continued our conversation with family. Highly recommend the place.
The Gem in Houston. Celebrating today 20years coming to Ciro’s every year on our anniversary and we are always amazed by the quality of drinks, food and awesome service.Peter took extra care of us as always. His professionalism is second to none. We also love the patio and the outdoor bar and sitting. ♥️👍🏻
Jesse delivers nothing short of exceptional service! From the moment we were seated, he was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. He knew the menu inside and out, offered great recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. His professionalism and positive energy truly elevated our dining experience. It’s rare to find someone so genuinely committed to excellent service — Jesse is a standout. If you’re dining at Ciro’s Italian Grill, do yourself a favor and ask for Jesse. He made our visit unforgettable, and we’ll definitely be back because of him!
Traditional Italian restaurants with lots of options to eat. Usually packed in the evening the few times I’ve been so plan ahead or order take out. They usually have plenty of drinks and desserts to choose from. At the door, you’ll be met with a sign that talks about dressing and stuff so dress appropriately…. I don’t think they care, I never know. It just caught my attention as I’ve never seen it anywhere else. Definitely check it out.
Ciros was AMAZING! Loved all of my food and my wife was content too! All this with dessert and 2 drinks for less than $100 was a steal and the quality of the food was spectacular. Sergio (our waiter) was great too! All the staff worked together to make sure our waters were full and table was clean the entire experience Highly recommend for a dinner date.
I’ve been a ciros fan since his original restaurant on Campbell road. Though, his locations may have changed his Attention to detail and mastery of the Italian cuisine has not. I’ve taken numerous clients to this wonderful eating establishment and always the same results! Satisfied and eager to return. On our last adventure here I brought my Fiancé for her first experience. She had the Crab claws and bow tie pasta with lemon butter sauce and Spinach. needless to say this is her new favorite restaurant “ Best Meal Ever “ Thank you Ciro for this amazing experience. We live in Conroe and have absolutely no problem making the 1 and a half hour drive. Mom ( Linda, Box) says hello.
This is by far my favorite Italian restaurant, they cook with good oils, their food is always consistent and the wait staff is always so nice. Ciros is my #1 when it comes to Italian!
The establishment provides a delightful dining experience. I have had the pleasure of dining there on several occasions, and the quality of the cuisine is consistently excellent. Furthermore, the staff demonstrates exceptional professionalism and attentiveness. I have never encountered any dissatisfaction, and every dish I have selected has been remarkably satisfying.
I very much enjoyed the trip here. It is a nice restaurant, but it didn't need to be too fancy. Great atmosphere, all of the staff from the folks at the front door to the wait staff were professional and courteous. The food was amazing. Fried cheese sticks were some of the best I have had. I had the Sausage and Peppers as well for an appetizer, and it did not disappoint. The sausage was full of flavor. I had the stuffed chicken breast, and it was delicious. My daughter had a half lasagna, and they accommodated her special requests with no questions asked. It was about $90 for 3 meals and 2 appetizers, so not an everyday thing for us, but will gladly go back.
I was there for a party & was very impressed! All the food was delicious- Best Pizza Margherita I've had outside Italy! The staff was excellent & the patio atmosphere was delightful!
I went to Ciro's with my friend. The customer service was phenomenal as well as the food. Hugo, our waiter, was very friendly. He suggested food and drinks to order and really made us feel comfortable. I got the ribeye, veggies and potatoes. Everything was well seasoned. I will be back!
My friend and I went to Ciro’s to celebrate both of us passing our Real Estate Exam. The restaurant & restrooms were very clean. There is a beautiful courtyard outside in the back with outdoor seating for restless children it would be a great area for them to enjoy. Our server was Corey, he was very polite & attentive. We had a pizza, Lentil soup with chicken and a salad. The food was delicious! Thank you Corey for our dessert, that was very sweet of you! We will definitely come back! We had a great experience and definitely recommend this place!
We love that bar. The bartenders were super friendly, fast, and efficient. We had some wine and pizza. Their happy hour wines are good and well-priced. We'll definitely visit again.
Our first time visiting this great family owned establishment in the Memorial area. We stopped in starving on a Saturday afternoon not really knowing what was in store for us. At first glance, I thought this may be another Italian chain restaurant, but that was far from the truth. As we walked in the vibe was extremely friendly and customer focused. Our waiter was amazing, he told us the history of the restaurant and pointed out the family photos displayed all over. We ordered the calamari as a starter, the breading was perfectly seasoned and crispy. The marinara dipping sauce was sooo good and you could taste how fresh it was. My daughter had the chicken alfredo which was spot on. All the pasta was homemade and cooked properly. My wife ordered the Straw & Hay "Gina, " a linguine in vodka sauce with bacon-wrapped shrimp. Really well balanced. I ordered the linguine and clams in a white wine sauce. My only complaint is that I wasn't told the clams were not fresh in the shell. I've never had chopped clams in this classic dish and I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew I wasn't getting fresh clams. Not terrible, but lacked that deep clam flavor. For dessert, my daughter ordered a scoop of their house made gelato, really good. Then to top the day off the waiter brought us a complimentary slice of their Mama "C" pie. This was the ultimate slice of pie. Thank you Ciro's for an amazing meal, we will be returning soon to try more of your delicious fresh dishes!
Went in for my birthday. We had Alonzo as a waiter and he was simply awesome. Amazing service and very personable. He recommend the chicken parm which was among the best I have ever had in my life. My family members had the Frankie, Linguini Pescatore, and Lasagna. All great. Consensus was Chicken Parm and Lasagna were tied for the best. Finally, we had the birthday desert and got the tiramisu. Both were beyond 10/10’s, but slight edge to the tiramisu. All in all, a great time.
LOVE this place. The menu offers classic pasta, to seared ribeye, mussels to pizza; it's difficult to choose what you're going to have because you're already thinking about what you'll try on the next visit. The main dining room and bar areas are filled with happy diners enjoying their conversations and wine as the growing line of patrons patiently wait their turn for a table. The wait staff are nicely dressed and polite, ready to dump a pound of Parmesan onto your plate if you ask them to. Don't forget to grab gelato on your way out.
I recently dined at Ciros, and it was an exceptional experience. The food was nothing short of amazing. The staff was not only friendly but also highly professional, making the overall dining experience a true delight. From start to finish, Ciros delivered on taste, service, and ambiance. Highly recommended!
This restaurant exceeded expectations. Even on a busy Saturday night, service was fast, and we finished our meal in under an hour. The food was flavorful, with the bread and oil served immediately as a nice touch. Our waiter stayed attentive throughout, making us feel welcomed. A perfect spot for a family dinner, with great food and smooth service.
Attended a happy hour here. Staff was attentive. And food appetizers were delicious. Large spaces for all kinds of groups. Will have to come back and try other food items. Reservations recommended
The food was excellent. The service was fantastic. The prices are good. The atmosphere was wonderful. You got all kinds of people here couples, families and those just to snack and have some nice wine. You name it. Nice atmosphere
We sat at the bar, as usual. The service was outstanding! (As always). I ordered Chicken Piccata and my friend ordered the meat lovers pizza on cauliflower crust. Both entrees were fabulous! The tiramisu and pistachio gelato did not disappoint. This is usual service at the bar! Just wonderful!
It was my first time to eat there at dinner time. There was a 30-35 min wait, I stayed and waited till I was seated in the bar at a high top table. I will always remember what table it was because it was in the corner and out of the way Table 15. As I was being seated I heard the hostess tell a guest the wait was 1 hour. I've been in retail for years and in this economy if a restaurant can have a wait for that long that tells me somebody is doing something right. The food was delicious and my waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and my service was absolutely professional, excellent and fabulous.....I will return to eat there again and ask for table 15. Thanks, James
I had heard it was good, but it turned out even better than I expected. I was on a business trip with colleagues and we had a late evening meal and Ciro's was recommended. We showed up and were directed to our table. Jesse, our server, greeted us and grabbed our drinks. Within moments appetizers were on the way, calamari and shrimp. Ciro's has amazing bread and olive oil dip and we immediately dug in and were enjoying our food immensely. Our meals arrived shortly after and we were greeted with meals that quieted the whole table as the conversations slowed down so we could enjoy our food. My snapper was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. My friends kept commenting on how delicious their food was. Jesse was always present but never intrusive. Drinks were never empty and we never lacked for anything we wanted or needed. It was like he knew what we needed before we even asked. As our meal wrapped up we were warned not to leave without trying dessert, and I'm so glad we did. The hardest part was picking what we wanted out of so many great choices! I will make sure Ciro's is on our list of restaurants to eat next time I'm in town. I can't wait to come back.
We went to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday last night - the food was fantastic and the service couldn't have been better! My kids loved all the holiday decorations, too. Highly recommend - we will definitely be back!
The best Italian food in Houston! Blown away by the family friendly vibes as well as the 10/10 tasting food! I’d recommend this place to all my family and friends! I ordered the spaghetti and boy was I in for a treat! The prices here a bit on the higher end but definitely worth it. After all, this is not fast food.
The service added to the feeling of being at a well-loved home-meal: friendly, attentive, and happy to share recommendations rather than rush us out. And to finish, the tiramisu was light, creamy, and not overly sweet — a perfect end to the meal. Highly recommended for a relaxed evening out, a date-night that feels casual yet special, or simply when you’re craving food that tastes like it was made with heart.
After working for years in Italian restaurants alongside chefs who came straight from Italy, I can confidently say — Ciro’s Italian Restaurant is one of the best I’ve had in many, many years! Everything about this place feels genuine, welcoming, and full of soul — from the moment you walk in to the very last bite of dessert. Our first visit was unforgettable, thanks to Pietro, our waiter. His service was beyond exceptional. It’s rare to find someone in hospitality with such charisma, warmth, and true passion for making guests feel at home. His knowledge of Italian cuisine shines through every recommendation, and you can tell he’s proud of every dish served. The following day, we were helped by Maria, who was also wonderful, kind, and attentive — but there’s truly only one Pietro! We absolutely adore him. Now, let’s talk about the food — because every single dish was outstanding. From the perfectly layered lasagna to the pizzas with their crispy yet airy crusts, every bite tasted like Italy. The pastas are cooked to perfection and the calamari are light, crispy, and seasoned just right. The gnocchi melt in your mouth, and the desserts and gelato? Life-changing! Each flavor feels homemade, authentic, and prepared with real love. One detail that completely won me over was their Frozen Cosmopolitan — oh my goodness, it’s divine! You’d expect the flavor to fade as the ice melts, but it’s just as delicious from the first sip to the very last drop. Truly one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. The restaurant itself is beautiful — with a lovely patio perfect for a family dinner or a romantic evening out. The atmosphere has that warm, lively Italian energy that instantly makes you feel like you’re part of the family. Between the outstanding service, incredible food, and genuine Italian spirit, Ciro’s has become my new favorite place in town. It’s not just a restaurant — it’s an experience you’ll want to repeat again and again. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Bravo, Ciro’s! 🇮🇹❤️🍝 GRAZIE MILLE PIETRO🙌🏼🙏🏻
Mario was our waiter and provided excellent service and information on the menu. The brunch was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Mom ordered some very specific veggies which Mario got 100% correct. Baby did the same with her coffee and the kitchen did not disappoint. The Memorial pork chop was crispy and on point! Thank you Ciro’s and Mario!
OK we were looking for an Italian spot just a little bit away from home and we came across this menu online and it looked wonderful. I was very excited to see that they have their own little bakery off to the side and that they have an outdoor play area for the kids. Very nice elegant setting very dim lighting absolutely love the flatbread that is served with the olive oil mix. You definitely cannot get enough of that. my kids and myself decided to go for the flatbread pizzas. They were very delicious, but please keep in mind. One pizza is enough for one person only. my husband got the pork chop Parmesan with the Alfredo and he was very impressed. The menu is great. The atmosphere is gorgeous. I think our waitress could’ve been a bit more friendlier and attentive, but the food was great and that’s what will bring us back again.
This place was amazing. The service was so quick, we were probably in and out within the hour on a Saturday evening! The food was very tasty and I really enjoyed the bread and oil they provide as soon as you sit down. Our waiter was also very attentive and friendly. Great place for a family dinner!
I was here for lunch with some colleagues. The food was good. Unfortunately I can't have wheat/gluten and the menu options were severely limited. So I'd say - great place for people without allergy restrictions. But if you have any wheat/gluten restrictions, the options are very limited. I ended up with baked chicken and veggies that while good wasn't pasta or something super Italian specific.
Good place for family. The food isn't the best if you know real Italian food. Very family friendly though so I'll give it that
I had the Shrimp Ciro. I was a little disappointed as the shrimp were more than fishy smelling. Not a whole lot of pasta. Service was good. Dont have any idea about dessert. We weren't asked if we wanted any or shown a dessert tray. They did do great with our birthday group - the birthday girl enjoyed the singing and dessert.
the service was great, the happy hour was good but the entrees were ok. I ordered the shrimp ciro and the sauce was watery and lacked flavor. I declined the parmesan thinking the sauce alone would be enough but later added parmesan for more flavor. my bf ordered like a seafood king of pasta. it’s was ok. the bread was amazing, very soft. the appetizer was good, we ordered the butternut squash. over all it was ok, the service was great but the food was just ok.
First time with coworkers…had lunch and it was pretty good. The food was excellent and service could’ve been a bit better. It wasn’t terribly busy, but our server was not as attentive as he could’ve been. At one point, I believe it was the manger that came over, we had to ask him for more of their delicious bread, as our server didn’t or wouldn’t bring us more. Overall good experience and ambiance and food…will definitely be back. I had the potato gnocchi Milano and fried risotto balls! Yum! Took a slice of their coconut split pie to go (strawberries n cream w bananas)…have yet to eat that, but it looks tasty.
The menu has a lot if variety and there are many traditional Italian dishes. The food is very tasty and as eating out goes these days, reasonably priced so I would say a good value. The stuffed artichoke appetizer was delicious.
The flatbread and dipping oil to start were good. Service was good too. The calamari was okay. I ordered some spaghetti and meatballs, which was decent. They have a cute play area for kids in the back, turfed. The decor inside was neat, and it has a romantic atmosphere almost. Overall not too crazy about the food. It was good, but not out of this world. If I went back, it would be because the service was good and the decor is nice.
Some of the better Italian food I’ve had in a while. The place was absolutely a roar with people, so they’re doing something right! Our server was spread a little thin for whatever reason, so we ended up with really slow service. The bathrooms were also so dirty my son opted to hold it. Other than that, I woulda gave it 5 stars. Despite a few lackluster details that evening, I trust those were anomalies, and I’d be back. The salad was delicious, the shrimp spinach pasta with white wine sauce was fantastic, the desserts were spot on. Even my son’s spaghetti was good!
Not a fan of their minestrone. It consisted of some pasta, a few potato chunks, and broth. No beans. My experience with minestrone, including in my Italy, there were beans and thicker than broth. This had zero flavor. I also got tomato caprese. The tomatoes were far from any ripeness. They were light pink and didn’t even taste like a tomato. I’ll be going back to Carrabas for these. And I’m not fond of Carrabas’a environment.
My family & I visit Ciro's this past Monday to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I made reservations days ahead of time but ended up needing to push back by 45m the day of. The host was nice & had no problem revising my reservation. Once we arrived, we were warmly greeted & taken to our table. Our waiter, Allen, came over to us not even two minutes later for our drink order. I ordered the Ciro's margarita on the rocks & my wife ordered the Kentucky Mule. Both drinks were strong. The alcohol, for us, overpowered the drinks. We could not enjoy the other flavors/notes because they were so boozy. I'm fully aware that some people like/prefer their drinks that way, but not us. Not horrible, not great, just drinkable. Our waiter Allen was attentive & kind. All 5 of us ordered our entrees. I had the Linguine Pepa, my wife ordered the Potato Gnocchi Milano, my daughter ordered a 3 topping pizza, & my parents ordered from the 3 course dinner special. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. However, my entree was a complete disappointment. The white wine butter sauce was nowhere to be found in my dish. I only had 3 small shrimp on top & overall, the flavor was seriously lacking. The noodles were oily & flavorless. I was in such shock because everyone's dish looked & smelled so good! I tried to jazz it up some by adding salt, pepper, freshly grated Parmesan & even asked for a side of Alfredo sauce to add to my dish, but there was literally no flavor. I was severely disappointed & joked with my waiter because it was his recommendation. By this time, I was unhappy with everything I had ordered. I decided to ignore my best judgement, & order dessert. I got an affogato & chocolate walnut chip cookie. The affogato was great. Really almost impossible to mess that up lol However, my cookie was forgotten. I never got it sadly. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday & several waiters(?) came to our table to sing happy birthday in (I'm guessing) Italian. They also brought her a free ice cream cookie sandwich which made her entire night! That was so incredibly sweet & kind of them. I was not expecting anyone to sing whatsoever & was so pleased that they did! It truly made my daughter's night. I give 4 stars because the staff was so kind & sweet to us, including our waiter. I'm unsure if I would dine here again, but if I do, at least I know the customer service is A1!
I was in the area and craving pasta. I didn't notice any lunch specials. You get bread on a bag with olive oil before your meal. I ordered the half order of spinach and garlic tortellini. There were seven tortellini in the order. They were quite good. The half order is $15.50. It shouldn't be more than $14, especially at lunch. I ate four and took the rest to go. They're quite filling. I would have loved to order dessert. But they're setting you back $10 now. The ambiance is great. They sat me on a booth by the bar.
I love eating at Ciro's. Been a customer for years. Based on my recent experience the last two times ordered takeout was disappointed. Did a family type dinner with a couple of entrees. It wasn't up to par. Just recently ordered 4 entries for takeout. Was disappointed in the quality of food. A couple of the entrees were very dry. Was supposed to have bread as well and got two very small pieces of bread with four entrees. Also usually they ask if you want parmesan cheese to go. They didn't offer and when I got home there was none to be found. So generally would give 5 stars as the food in restaurant always good but won't be ordering takeout anymore.
Ate at the bar, and the service was excellent. Bartenders are great and very accommodating. Had a frozen Bellini and it was tasty. Bread that’s served with your meal is made in house with their brick oven. It’s satisfying and comes to you hot. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my entree. Not pictured, I had the linguine pescatore. It’s listed as mixed seafood, but it was 90% squid, two clams and a shrimp. I didn’t finish more than half of it. Pasta was ok, marinara sauce was flat, and seafood tasted frozen. Wasn’t impressed, only good point in my opinion was the staff.
We went to this restaurant for dinner thinking it was among the best in Houston and we wanted to spend a nice, quiet evening with the family. It caught our attention that they put us at a table in the main room where we couldn't talk or listen to the waiter, who was in a hurry to serve us, he seemed electric and didn't let us decide, in addition the fact of the dim light made it impossible to read the menu correctly. Between the insistence of the waiter, the noise and the poor lighting, the stay becomes difficult. The room next door had empty tables but they "couldn't" move us and on the terrace they said there was an event...even though all the tables were empty. We ordered 2 waiting cocktails, which were brought to us very late (a Manhattan and another that I don't remember, both tasteless). The Manhattan had stale fruit inside. For main courses we ordered Risotto Parmigiano and Linguine Pescatore. Both exquisite 10 points! Abundant. We had to wait for the wine to be brought to us while having our main courses served and let them cool. For dessert, Mini Cannolis (quite good) and Oreo cheesecake that was excessively large and tasteless. The good thing about the place is the wine list (almost broader than the main menu, good international wines, we ordered two 5-star wines from Argentina) I think we would only return when the weather is warmer to sit on the terrace and drink some good wines.
This restaurant is definitely a family style restaurant. Their portions are generous and the food is comfort food. We came on a very busy lunch hour. So the service was not top notch that’s why I’m giving it a three star. The waiter even forgot to bring my food but luckily the other portions of my families food was large enough I just shared with them. The food was mediocre. It was nothing over the top. However The gelato is definitely a must on your way out grab a scoop to go. I would not come back for the food but I would definitely come back for the gelato.
this was our second time coming here and burg times for dinner. my husband really loved their risotto and wanted to come back for it especially since we were in the neighborhood (Memorial area nearby Memorial City mall) and a plus that the restaurant is participating in the annual Houston Restaurant Weeks which is also the main reason to return sadly the 2nd visit fall short than the first time which is disappointing. first long wait on a weekday, a Tuesday dinner yes I know we didn't have reservations but still and then once seated it took awhile to get menu/drinks ordered. and when they finally brought out the the water and small dish for the table I noticed one of the plate was a bit dirty but then again it seem we went on a night that was short staff and busy so when we finally got our waitress I brought it to her attention and she just took the plate away didn't seem shocked by the dirtiness of it much less apologize service continues to be slow to wait on our food which was the only good thing of the night the food
Food was good, service was average. Once seated, we were asked to move tables so a larger party could have ours…not the end of the world but we were stuck in a tight corner. Our friends really talked this place up and we’re excited to bring us here while visiting. Wasn’t that impressed but we enjoyed the company we were with.
Came here for lunch and it wasn’t crowded. The restaurant is big with lotsa indoor seating (first and second levels). There is outdoor seating too. There is quite a selection from the menu. I got the veal ossobuco from the lunch special, mini cannolis, and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The veal ossobuco came with a bed of risotto. The veal was super tender, and melted in the mouth. However, it lacked flavor. The risotto was cooked well but could have more flavor. The mini cannolis’ shells were crispy but the fillings were tasteless. The vanilla ice cream was sweet and creamy. Overall the food could be better.
Took my elderly mom there for her favorite spaghetti. She loved it! It was noisy but we could still manage a conversation. I ordered the gnocchi. Their recipe is unlike any other gnocchi I've ever eaten or made. They were like little puffballs of potato -- not like a regular dumpling -- more like a tater tot. the sauce was very salty and greasy. Will probably go back but will not order this again. Our server was nice enough but abandoned us when it was time for the check. My husband had to get up, wander around the restaurant to find someone to get us the bill.
We recently tried this place for a late lunch and we're disappointed. First we were served bread with the usual oil and vinegar dip, but the bread seemed to be baked pizza crust. We ordered pesto stuffed mushrooms which were bland. I had a salad with salmon, and the salmon was totally tasteless. The atmosphere is nice and service was attentive.
Chopped salad was extremely disappointing. No red onions. No Capers. No olives. No artichokes. All these ingredients were listed on the menu. Chicken Parmesana was totally smothered in sauce, so I had to scrape most of it off to taste the chicken. Friend said Veal piccata was excellent. Drinks exceeded expectations. Excellent bartender. After ordering a Sazerac, she visited my table to discuss the ingredients. Great service from her.
Nut allergy friendly: The staff are relatively cautious about allergies. The stuffed mushroom with pesto did have nuts but I was given sufficient warning about it. We arrived around 5PM on a Sunday evening for an early dinner and had no issues getting a table for 5. There is designated Ciro's parking along the side near Credence. Time to Appetizers: 10 Minutes Time to Entrees: 34 Minutes Time to Desserts/Receipts: A while, maybe 1 hr 20 minutes? (We stopped getting service for a while...) Complimentary bread and olive oil were brought out relatively quickly. The food was, overall, average American-style Italian food. By that, I mean extremely sauce and carb heavy. I think it is a strange choice to have chicken parmigiana with a white sauce linguini, since it is such a contrast in sauces. Portions are excellent and huge but the food quality itself is okay at best. My chicken parm was not that crispy, and the chicken wasn't the most tender. I avoided sharing any other dishes unfortunately since the rest of my table had various types of nuts (including the stuffed mushroom pesto appetizer) and the gelato had several kinds of nutty flavors to potentially cross-contaminate. Biggest downside is that we took a *long* time to get receipts. We sat around and probably finished an entire jug of water each while waiting for receipts to come. Overall, seems okay to cater from and come with the expectation of a big meal, but there are better Italian spots in town.
I wish I could have had a better experience like all of the other reviewers. My spinach tortellini pictured here was extremely unappetizing in both looks & flavor. Not sure how this is considered a full size portion, but I digress it was a lackluster moment in both my mine & my boyfriends night. We were also sat in a dim & less than inviting area so that added to the negative review. I don’t recommend this place & will probably never go back.
Food is meh minus. Linguini sauce had very unappetizing presentation and linguini had very strong over used pasta water after taste. Had two bite of main course, paid and walked out. Service was quick, drink, appetizer and main course come in proper timely order. The restaurant has good ambiance.
This is my second time here. Just not that impressed with this place, at all. For as much as they call themselves an "Italian" restaurant, I think the flavor is lacking terribly. The service was good and the decor is cool with the terracotta colored walls and wine bottle corked ceiling, but the food itself needs more... more garlic, more tangy balsamic vinegar, more flavor! The bread they start you out with is more like a pita pocket bread; a flakey baguette would be better. The dipping oil is bland; it needs some balsamic vinegar and garlic chunks. I ordered from the restaurant week options today. The Caesar salad was the most basic I have ever had; I've had better ones from non-Italian establishments. No tomatoes, no full-bodied dressing. My main course selection was the Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe (spaghetti tossed with pecorino cheese, black pepper, evo, butter and grilled chicken). Again, it was basic, like Olive Garden basic. I couldn't have been more disappointed. The chicken was tender and juicy, but no taste. The spaghetti was no thrills either. I ended with the strawberry gelato. Tasted like regular ice cream. The entire lunch was very subpar. I hate giving anything less than 4 starts. Very sad this didn’t work out again. I gave it 2 tries, which is usually not my style, but it was a coworker lunch and I didn't have much choice. Hopefully, the owner will read these suggestions. I know good Italian food and sadly, this was not it either time.
This place needs a SERIOUS makeover. Smelled of wet clothes that have been left to air dry for 5 days. Food was meh. Pasta was 100% boxed - they don't bother to make their own pasta. Meat quality was pathetic, and priced like a 5-star restaurant. Time to update your food or close down.
Food was good, but the host with the glasses had a funky attitude not only with us but her colleagues as well. We waited far too long to be seated and there wasn’t even a wait. If the host with glasses doesn’t want to work, then she needs to stay home. Just because you’re mad doesn’t mean you need to be rude towards people who did nothing to you. The overall service was also not great.
When placing our order, the waiter Irving did not want to write down our orders. We finally got him to do it and he wrote everything down that we asked correctly. I stated numerous times. I am highly allergic to mushrooms. He stated not a problem. I’ll take care of it. My wife and I brought a new couple in that just moved into our neighborhood and we told them how great this place is. I have been coming here since the original restaurant opened up down the street. My dad has known the family for years. Long story short They brought out our food. My stuffed chicken was loaded with mushrooms all over the top all over the fettuccine. No problem take it back. Make a new one. I still can’t understand how we wait. 45 minutes for our food to come out and when it does come out it’s wrong. And then six minutes later a whole new plate comes out. Oh, I do now because it was made incorrectly again. Stuffed chicken is supposed to be stuffed with whatever you have on your menu. I was brought out a chicken breast, bland and white with nothing inside of it. The fettuccine with the olive oil was overcooked. I put my plate to the side and told him to take it away. The first bite I took tasted like somebody dumped a can of salt on it and that is what our new friends stated also. It’s unfortunately that we bring somebody to a restaurant that we have enjoyed for years and they will never go back and I think at this point I will never go back. I’m pretty upset that I did not have a manager Come to the table and talk to us. Our waiter said oh I’m going to comp your dinner. What dinner, I never ate any of it. Wind up getting fast food. On my way home. I can understand if you comp my food and I ate it that would probably mean something. But comping my food that I did not eat when everybody else at the table had some what of their dinner. This should’ve been given to a manager and not offered a pizza dough dessert for replacement. That’s the lowest of the low. I am so disappointed this could have been taken care of in a better format, I probably would not even be writing this. If at least they would’ve said let me make you want to take home with you. Or something to that extent. But instead, the Bill was brought to the table. I handed him cash. He asked me if I wanted change, I said, of course I want Change I’m not going to leave you an $80 tip on $120 tab.
I came here expecting good Italian food, but it tasted like I came to an Olive Garden instead. The bread was nothing to write home about, and the menu was very big. We ordered fried mozzarella, and although the texture was fine, the taste was bland. We got the gnocchi and it was awful. It was powdery and tasted like instant potatoes were used to make it. I have had store bought gnocchi that blows it out of the water. The mushrooms had no flavor. There were many children at the restaurant and there was a playground for them. It felt more like a restaurant to bring your kids to than a quality Italian restaurant. The food experience was only okay, and it definitely was not worth the price.
We have been to Ciro’s many times but Saturday was the last time ~ I was so sick all night after eating the Pollo Alla Sposa. I called the next day to let them know just so no one else would get sick as well. The manager said I must have had a bad reaction to the ingredients. I told him I had all the symptoms of food poisoning and he told me they have never had anyone get sick there in the 30 years they’ve been in business and that they take it very seriously. He got my name and number and would have someone call me. Of course no one did. I’m only posting this because they obviously don’t care when I just called to give them a heads up that something was wrong with the dinner.
We had high hopes for Ciro’s and, to be fair, our evening started off wonderfully. The servers were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was absolutely amazing; every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. For a moment, we thought we found our new favorite spot. But everything changed when we witnessed something that completely ruined the experience. While enjoying our meal, we saw the manager—Jesus—berate an elderly employee (who looked to be at least 70 years old) in an aggressive, disgusting way. He was cussing him out in Spanish, right there in front of guests. The level of hostility and disrespect was shocking. No one deserves to be treated that way, especially not an older man who was clearly working hard and trying his best. It was heartbreaking and disturbing to witness. The entire table lost their appetite. What could’ve been a glowing five-star review turned into a major disappointment because of the inexcusable behavior of someone in a leadership position. Great food and service mean nothing when a restaurant allows abusive treatment of its staff. We won’t be returning.
First and last visit. There is conflicting information about gluten free options, the sweet white wine selection was anything but sweet, the appetizer came out after our entrees, the chicken was overcooked and rubbery. It's been a long time since I had such a horrible dining experience for the amount of money they charge.
Definition of mid at best overpriced food. Server was extremely weird as well. Maybe try smiling once in 60 minutes , or looking at people when you speak with them.
My wife made a reservation at Ciro’s for our daughter’s birthday gathering — 15 kids at one table and 8 adults at another. We’ve been coming here for years, often celebrating special occasions with big groups, so we trusted things would be handled properly. My wife even pre-ordered all the kids’ food and drinks to make it easier, while the adults ordered separately. Everything was fine until it came time to settle the bill. On a $300 check, the waiter demanded a $200 tip. He claimed my wife had been called the day before and told about a mandatory $200 tip “no matter what the final bill was.” This was never the case — no one ever called her. When my wife explained she was leaving a generous 25% tip for both the kids’ and adults’ tables (which would have totaled more than $200), the manager got involved. Instead of listening, he harassed her in front of all the kids and parents, insisting on the $200 regardless. It was embarrassing, unnecessary, and extremely unprofessional. To make matters worse, they rushed us out by saying they had another reservation. My wife had already told the staff that if they needed the table, they could simply ask. But after they cleared the kids’ tables, they sat empty. We stayed another 45 minutes, and the five tables were still unused when we left. We've been loyal customers for years, but after this experience -- the harassment, the dishonesty about a "mandatory tip," and the treatment of our family during a child's birthday party -- we won't be coming back. The waiter himself kept apologizing, admitting he knew it was wrong, but told us the manager said that unless we paid the $200 tip, we wouldn't be welcome to book a table at Ciro's again. Ultimately, when both tips were combined, the total amount exceeded $200. *Photos of empty tables:
