Joseph the bartender Rox. We just totally accidentally came across this bar while we were exploring the hot Atlanta vegan food truck parked right next to it. And just because the sign on the mural said happy hour every day till 9 pm and I like to read it pulled us in. Also, because I like to explore. When we get in, we learned that in two years of this bartender bartending at this bar I was the first person who challenged the sign outside because the Real! happy hour is only till 7 pm. While he can’t give us the happy hour special I made use of the daily special which today happened to be the Irish whiskey for $5. Get a girl get it get it get a girl. I got an old-fashioned and my partner got a Paloma and we loved our drinks. And we also played music on the juke box. I love the high-tech Ness of this bar because we could play the jukebox remotely through barcode and I opened and closed my tab remotely through my phone as well overall loved the seamless high-tech experience.

God bless the Dark Horse Tavern, after a long bullshit night of wandering through downtown this place was still open late at night, got a couple drinks and was able to charge my phone to call an Uber home, honestly don’t know what I would’ve done without them this place saved my life that night.

Originally gave 1 star by accident, likely due to being drunk. I love this bar. It's not fancy, or especially clean, but it's just the right kind of not fancy or especially clean.

If you ask me, that’s if you ask me. It’s the best bar I’ve ever been to.

My favorite and the only place i like on Washington St. this bar is very chill, personally the people I've meet here always seem to have such great taste in music(Indie that is). The bartenders are very nice, this one girl that works here that usually wears a beanie makes the best dos X with salt, simple dos X with salt but I am telling you they are the best!! I never get bored of coming here people are always friendly and you will always meet new people.

They have a small - but good selection of beer. It's a small place but they have plenty of tables to pull out a board game (They provide) and/or you can shoot darts in the back (2 boards). Not too crowded. Just right!

Nice little neighborhood bar. Doesn't take the ritzy, upscale look that so many places on Washington Ave try for (then seem to go out of business in a year). Bartender was very nice and the kind that would remember your name and your drink when you come back

Darkhorse stole my heart years ago and I can't stop coming back. This is a very low key bar, a nice place to hang out with friends and have some good conversation. The bartenders are super nice and Leslie makes the best Mexican Drive by's!

Slick atmosphere, great selection, immaculate vibes. Everything I look for in a bar. Christine is attentive, fun, and super knowledgeable. Really looking forward to coming back with more friends!!

M

I'd give this place six stars if I could. Paulie makes an excellent old fashioned and always remembers you, no matter how long it's been since your last visit. Chill atmosphere and great location.

Hands down, George is the best Bartender on Washington ave. Quiet, quaint, stately neighborhood watering hole, perfect for any meet up. Try George's secret recipe for an old fashioned or enjoy over 15 local draughts.

Great place to have a conversation and still be able to hear the background music. Cold beer and good frozen pizza. Ashley, Dustin, and David are the best.

Came here to have a drink with a friend. The happy hour price for my drink wasn't honored when the bill came. Not sure what that was about, but I didn't make a big deal out of it. The atmosphere here was pretty good. They have free popcorn, so that's nice.

j

Very laid back and enjoyable local dive. Bartender made an excellent bloody Mary and Margarita. They use a variety of spices and flavors to give their drinks something extra. Check it out!

A good place for getting some occasional beers, but tough to frequent (I've tried). Beers are pretty pricey, there's no free music, and it's often dead so it's just weirdly quiet. Awesome interior and feel when it's a bit busier and someone (usually me) pays for tunes, though.

Place was pretty small and the drinks somewhat pricey. It seemed like the crowd all new each other. Not a big fan of this place and would probably not come here again.

Decent atmosphere (sometimes). Hopefully this place is no longer a bar known for being able to find illicit substances faster than one could order a whiskey sour.

I have been here on and off for many year's as grew up in the neighborhood. But last night was so bad do not know what issue was but felt discriminated. My party left there and had a wonderful time else where. I will not be going back there as not worth spending my money there as my money is as good as anyone else's. DARK HORSE has definitely changed for the worse..
