I think it would be very hard to find a more authentic experience in this part of Houston. Tacos tasted fresh, very flavoursome and with the perfect amount of heat. The service was very fast and the queue clears in almost no time at all. The breakfast chicharon taco had me come back two days in a row.

I am so happy I stumbled upon this place! The flour tortillas are fresh and thick. My favorite was the chorizo and papa taco, which is very filling and for $2.99 it was completely worth it! The masa for the tamales was very flavorful as well. They have a huge selection, cheap prices, and everything we ordered was delicious 😋, not to mention that they prepare the food very quickly. We will definitely return next time we are in town.

Great food and great service. Have some Singaporean Family in Texas and stumbled in to this place. Great start for them. Try the 1910.

Visiting from out of town and came across this magnificent place. Service is outstanding and food is amazing. We ate gorditas and fajita tacos on flour tortillas delicious. Will definitely return.

Tried for the first time today! So good! I tried 3 tacos...classic beef, pulled pork and Baja San (grilled shrimp). All 3 were great the pork and shrimp were on another level. So fresh and hot (temp hot). The salsas have a lot of flavor. I went towards the end of lunch rush and no wait. I will be a regular customer. And they have so many breakfast options!

First time visitor and I was pleasantly surprised! Homemade tortillas and you have a choice of hot, mild or plain sauce. Plenty to choose from and they're not stingy with the serving, tacos are pretty full!

This is a cafeteria style Mexican food place in the downtown tunnels. The breakfast tacos are delicious! I’ve also had the veggie tamales and they are the best tamales I’ve ever had. They have a machine that makes fresh squeezed orange juice upon order. Don’t miss out on this place.

I’m not usually the type of person to leave reviews, but this place is such a hidden gem I had no choice. Stumbled in early this morning for some breakfast tacos, which were delicious; nothing gourmet or fancy, just really good homemade tacos. The service was quick and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. I’ll be back!

Does not miss!!! My go to is the quesadilla plate. Always always always good, muy muy rico! The charro beans are amazing. Rice, same. All good. The Vallarta walker tacos (fried fish) was also really good. Staff is very pleasant, even when busy.

Delicious food and super friendly staff. There are a lot of places to get breakfast tacos in the downtown tunnels, and I used to rotate between them. Once I added Luchi and Joey's to the rotation I stopped rotating, they're the only place I go now.

You might have to work to find it (in the basement floor food court of the Commerce Towers, but this hidden gem is the real deal. Excellent mix of traditional and TexMex offerings, great staff, etc. Simple and great.

Great tacos! Too bad I can't eat one of each every time I go. Have to choose one or two of my favorites. Great friendly people here that make some really good food.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the breakfast tacos at Luchi & Joey's, located in the tunnels beneath the commerce building. I must say that the experience was delightful, with one particular taco standing out among the rest. The 1910 breakfast taco, a true masterpiece, deserves a resounding 10 out of 10. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each bite was a harmonious blend of ingredients. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the taco was cooked to perfection. It truly surpassed my expectations and ranks among the best breakfast tacos I have ever had. While the breakfast taco was exceptional, I must admit that the Machaca taco and the El Popular taco fell a bit short. They were decent, but they lacked the same level of excellence that the standout taco offered. I would rate them a 6 out of 10. The flavors didn't quite come together as cohesively, and there was room for improvement in terms of seasoning and overall execution. The location of Luchi & Joey's adds to its allure. Nestled in the underground tunnels beneath the commerce building, it provides a unique and cozy setting. It's a charming experience to dine in such an unconventional space, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the visit. Overall, my experience at Luchi & Joey's was great. The remarkable breakfast taco was a highlight that earned it a perfect score. Although the other tacos didn't quite reach the same level, they were still enjoyable. The hidden underground location added a touch of novelty to the experience. If you're a breakfast taco enthusiast looking for something out of the ordinary, this place is worth a visit.

I wanted to get some local tacos on Taco Tuesday. I tried Luchi & Joey’s. The team was fast and friendly. The tacos tasted great and were big. The hit salsa is great with heat and a bite. I tried the Gringa, 1810 & Pulled Pork tacos.

I don’t know why they are so greedy with the bacon, I pay almost $9.00 for 2 potato’s and bacon tacos and I’m always asking for extra bacon and today I got so frustrated that I asked for extra bacon in a container, which took my bill to almost $12.00 dollars. I’m not happy at all with this staff and the greediness!

👍 The breakfast tacos are probably tied with "La Taquiza" for the best tacos in the Downtown Tunnel System. 👎 Customer service is a problem. They tend to act like it's an odd request to ask for beans on tacos here. 👍 They have the best taco sauce in Downtown! I love spicy sauces and there's only 1 truly spicy sauce at this location (orange). They also have a few mild sauces for the weaklings who think SALT is spicy. 👎 However, it's a hit or miss on getting the salsa you ask for. 👎 👎 Customer service can plummet if the restaurant is busy making a large catering-style order. I may have been helped by someone who wasn't accustomed to working in the main line (possibly a manager). The usual workers were building a large order and this person didn't know how to listen. I asked for beans with my tacos, as I normally do, and had to ask for it again when she was bagging the order. This lady gave me attitude, opened the wrapped tacos, and slapped the beans into them. This made the tacos very messy to eat. I asked for the orange sauce (as I usually do), but got green. Hell, while eating, I discovered that half my order was of the wrong protein.
