Nice atmosphere, I love the booths, you have to try the carne guisada! Reminds me of my childhood. The best in the cypress area. I was pleasantly surprised. CALDO AND MENUDO ARE GREAT TOO!.Great staff and so friendly. My order is always correct. Enjoy!

It is a small family owned restaurant. The red salsa had a little heat, while the green salsa was mild. The chips and queso were OK, but nothing to write home about. However, the star was the main courses. I got the Enchiladas de Mole Pablano while my wife got the Carne Guisada. The Mole had a nice dark chocolate flavor on the front end, while after a few seconds the spice hit. It was awesome. The Carne Guisada was fork tender and had loads of flavor. Both dishes came with rice and beans. It tasted like everything, even the beans, were homemade. My wife's lemonade was made very well, though we both prefer slightly tarter, it wasn't overly sugary.

Decided to try this little mom and pop restaurant due to the good reviews. Gotta say....... the reviews were right. Wonderful staff, great atmosphere, and wonderful food. I had the cheese enchiladas and they were wonderful! The beans and rice were perfect! Loved their hot sauce too. Prices were better than most. Will definitely be going back! Oh, and we tried their breakfast tacos about a week later and they were also great! Looks and taste like they make their own tortillas. Great experience all the way around!

We ordered some Birria tacos and they were very tasty. The meat was juicy and flavorful. We also got some Street tacos with Chicken. The meat was a little dry but I liked it. The Piña Colada tasted amazing. I loved it. The restaurant was very colourful and nicely decorated. It was an excellent service.

We came here for breakfast and wanted something different. We ordered the supreme omelette, the pancakes, chilaquiles and a potato egg taco. While the presentation and looks can improve a lot, the taste is superiorly authentic and homemade. So if you are looking for a traditional Mexican breakfast this place is worth to try it!

Friendly staff with great customer service. Breakfast tacos are on point. You gotta try the beef fajita on corn with cilantro and onion. Guaranteed to come back after that. The green salsa is 💣. We 𝔢at here at least once a week. Great vibe and they have margaritas to go!!

Small business with great service, large portion sizes for lunch and good food. If you want good Tex-Mex without all the fuss at a great price, then this is your local place!

Went for the 1st time. Had the birrias tacos. Never had them before so can't compare them. Barracha beans most excellent. I always ask for some jalapenos as I often do with Mexican food. They charged me 0.99 cents. Bad move I think.

Met Jen when I placed my order to go. She described herself as a Scot living in Texas managing a Mexican food place. Lol. She was a treat! We ordered an assortment of breakfast tacos to go. It was a bit of a wait, but everything is made to order - including the tortillas!! Flour and corn! Everything was delicious! Have already told several friends. I saw the signs out front advertising a Happy Hour but did not get to see what that was. The restaurant is a decent size - maybe 15 to 18 tables with very colorful Mexican decor.

The Tacos de Birria are delicious! I ate three of them here and ordered a plate to go. Their breakfast tacos are also very good. It's a family-friendly place, family owned and operated. Music is not too loud like other Mexican places. Great service!

I recently tried the number tres lunch special at Taco De Oro, and I must say, it was an ok choice. What added to the experience was the ambiance – the place is adorned with charming Mexican decor, making for a delightful visual treat. The service is top-notch and speedy, precisely what you need during a busy day. While it wasn’t a mind-blowing experience, it was solid enough that I’m planning to give Taco De Oro another visit soon

Ordered the birria tacos to go while my wife got a fajita plate. I really liked my tacos and my wife was very pleased with her meal. I'll definitely go back to try other things on the menu.

Great service, the staff is sooo friendly, the place is small and very clean the food was better that I thought, we asked for enchiladas de mole verde it was so good same as the Torta cubana and caldo de borrego, we are definitely gonna come back

Great! I will be back. I had the fajita beef torta and it was good. 8/23/23 - this place is not what it used to be. I thought it was a new chef but they said it's the same one. Maybe they're cutting back on portions or something but I was not pleased. The flavor was so-so and the portions were kid size. C'mon now y'all, it's RICE & BEANS (soupy beans on top of that) 🤦🏽‍♂️. I had the enchilada Suizas which I've had here before but there was no love in these.

The worst tacos I ever seen 🤮 after having high hopes for this place I was let down when I saw the raw uncooked tortillas and sloppy tacos that was unwrapped in front of me. The lady behind the counter was kind of snotty probably because I ask why the salsa wasn't free they charge you extra for salsa, which is crazy usually Mexican restaurants provide that for free. Please save yourself the trip. These are so gross if you're eating them, you don't know what tacos are ,so sloppy and uncooked the tortillas from H-E-B bakery are way better.

OK, so me and my BFF decided to try this place out for the first time. Very friendly service. However, portion size and taste of food not very palatable bland. And the shock at the end was that I ordered a guacamole small dish with chips turned out to be $8.99. It wasn’t even half an avocado, mostly lettuce, tomatoes and onion with 1 quart of avocado as it seemed not good Business, you can buy a whole avocado at the store for $1.25. And the atmosphere it’s OK but the restaurant was totally empty. When around this hour. It should be packing in for brunch. After our experience with the food, I understand why it was empty. I thought maybe we just beat the crowd, but unfortunately, not so. I normally don’t like to leave bad reviews. No one is perfect. However, if you want to be successful any business, you need to step up the plate and make it. Attractive to the eyes and attractive to the pallet. And the price for the food, not acceptable for the portion size and the flour and corn tortillas you better have some teeth cause they’re very chewy and dry. No offense to the owners, but I must express my experience. This is good criticism so you can improve your services and food quality.

Taco de Oro really said “No substitutions, no hydration, no peace.” If you want to swap rice and beans for veggies like any other normal Mexican restaurant? Better pray you get the young guy with the gentle soul or the brown-haired waitress with the accent—because anyone else will look at you like you just asked for a gluten-free enchilada in 1992. Water refills? That’s cute. Hope you like your salsa spicy and your lips chapped, because you’ll be thirstier than a cactus in July. I watched my water glass dry out like a time-lapse of the Mojave Desert. And the check? Oh, sweet summer child. You don’t get the check. You earn it—by surviving a silent, awkward standoff where you try to make eye contact with a server who’s sprinting past you like you owe them money. The food? Pretty good. The trauma? Immaculate. Five stars for chaos. One star for service. May God be with you

Total fail. Told no twice. It happens, but rarely. Had to walk out. They were out of first choice - barbacoa de borrego. When asked if they could sub birria meat in a Chile relleno—they came back with such a long, bs answer, it makes it difficult to argue with that level of incompetence. The correct answer is “we’ll make it for you with a $3 up-charge”. They should have the volume and not overcharge for their food, too. But hey—you can buy a mask there for $5. Salsa was too hot for me. Chips were too thick.
