Tanglewood Grille Houston Reviews
Great food! Was so nice to have a nice hot meal after a long flight and the cocktail list had a bit of everything. We were served by Blanca who was professional, warm and very friendly - her service made out brief stay in Houston memorable!
Great service and food! We all know how difficult it is to get decent food at the airport, but this place delivered. The chorizo tacos and omelette were delicious. Carlos was fabulous and took excellent care of us!
Dining at Tanglewood Grill is always a treat, but my recent experience was truly exceptional thanks to Blanca. From the moment we walked in, her warm, welcoming smile set the tone for the evening. She’s the kind of server who goes above and beyond—not just taking orders, but anticipating needs, personalizing the experience, and creating a genuinely enjoyable atmosphere.
Can't speak for the whole menu, but we ordered two breakfast dishes which came out quick, and the food was great, exactly what I was hoping for in an airport breakfast, and better. Potatoes great, sausage tasty, eggs perfectly cooked. Service was fast too, and Blanca was especially sweet, friendly and helpful.
Tired of airport restaurants not caring. Tanglewood is different! Our server went over the top and made sure we felt comfortable and were happy. Blanca (cute name) was the absolute best and such a gem. We instantly decided we’re gonna stay here and chill till our flight (4 hours). Thank you Blanca for loving your job and making us feel like VIP’s.
The restaurant is really incredible, the food was very delicious, but I really liked the attention I received there. Carlos served me and everything was fantastic, his charisma and personality were the perfect complement to be able to enjoy my experience in this restaurant even more. Grateful to Carlos for their incredible attention and with the restaurant for the quality of their food. I will definitely return, thank you very much.🙏🏽🥹💕
The food and drinks I had here were fantastic. I was helped by Kat who gave excellent customer service. The whole experience was a treat! As a travel worker, I plan to visit my next time in town. Thanks for the best experience !
I travel a lot and constantly struggle to find a good airport restaurant. This is the best place I’ve been at in years. I placed my order at the wrong QR code location and two people checked in on me to help ensure I got my food when it was done. Bianca and Lulu were super friendly, actually seem to love their job, (which is rare and refreshing) and made sure I had what I needed. Had a Cobb salad w steak and heirloom carrots as a side. For supper prices, very reasonably priced and top quality taste. Compliments to the chef for just the right seasoning on steak. Thank you very much for an uplifting experience in an unexpected environment.

I had a good experience here. I ordered the Cobb salad and a non-alcoholic mango spritzer thing. The salad was delicious, nicely presented, and everything seemed fresh. I also enjoyed the beverage. I ordered around 8:15pm and everything came out quickly. The music was nice, the place was clean, the staff was friendly. Really nothing to complain about.
First off, I haven't rated any food at an airport a 5, but I feel rating the food here a 4 is pretty decent! I enjoyed my non-greasy burger and fries. I had been craving chocolate cake, and it was coincidentally on the menu. The cake was moist and rich in a dark chocolate flavor (my preference). Carlos was our server and has a wonderful personality that brightens your day, which made the experience positive as a guest. The staff as a whole were very attentive. Compared to previous airport restaurant experiences, I must say this has been my favorite so far!

Got fast service when sitting at large U-shaped bar. Not forced to use app but bartender manually entered credit card info, as no readers are available. So much for the multi-million dollar “airport improvement” with your tax dollars. Across from Gate E-23. Same $11.50 pints as elsewhere nut two different Texas craft beers on draught. Background music and you can hear nearby gate announcements. Silent TVs at the bar showing league US sports.
Food was good, especially for an airport. Variety of options you don't normally find at an airport including steak options. Just had a fried chicken sandwich and fries, nothing special, but it was good, a little spicy with a good sauce, crispy, and good fries. Service only brought you what you ordered, never see them otherwise. Online order from a QR at the table. Large seating area spanning many gates, plenty of room to not be crowded by others. Outlets at every table, plenty of room to work. Full bar with many drink options.

Expect the steep surcharge for airport food. I was served a burger with a good sized beef patty, but unfortunately it came with soggy burger buns, soaked from the excessive pico de gallo on their Tex Mex burger. Ironically, the rest of the burger was dry - no sauce or mayonnaise. There were minimal vegetables in the burger, it was quite sad. I decided I wanted to dine in almost immediately after ordering to go, and was told I could not sit at the restaurant table because I had already ordered to go. Seems like something the restaurant would be more flexible about, given the price of their food. I’ll probably go to a different restaurant next time I’m here.
Got a Nashville Chicken Sandwich.. it was almost burned and had no sauce. Fries were decent. Breakfast looks good but I've never had time to stop.

Cold mealy fries were gross. Fried chicken sandwich was okay. $35. Wouldn’t be hard to do better.
This is one of those places that replaced live ordering with QR codes so they could cut their labor costs. It just screws over the customer and the remaining staff. Server was nice but was overwhelmed. Understaffed. Took longer than it should have for airport restaurant. QR code menu was also wrong (it showed they had draft beers that they didn’t - would not be a problem if you just spoke your order to a server/bartender like normal). Dry rubbed wings were decent.
Terrible service, too slow. The food was ok, but didn’t come as the menu stated. Wouldn’t recommend at all.
Food wasn’t good and service was even worse. Every single person working there seems to always wake up on the wrong side of the bed. They’re surly, they don’t allow any modifications or substitutions with the food, and for some odd reason you have to pay before you order (even if you order with a waitress/bartender). There are plenty of other places to eat in the Houston airport, go to any one of those and don’t waste your time here.
Horrible service, don’t come here if you have an hour or less layover. You have to order through a QR code. It’s been 21 minutes since I ordered my beer, there are four bartenders, and still haven’t received the beer. Ordered fries and took 16 minutes for them to come out but adding a star because they were actually decent. Avoid this place unless you have all the time in the world to wait on service
Probable one of the worst burgers I have ever eaten!, the Tex Mex burgers. It was over cooked, burned and small…😖 fries were very decent, the diet coke was water diluted 😖😖😖😖 . The waiter was very nice. Overall experience probably 1.5 but 2 is OK I understand it is an airport (Bush Int Airport) but… please……
We had a terrible experience. We placed our order at the self-service kiosk thinking it would be easier, and we sat down to wait for our food. The waiter said we could only sit there if we ordered from there or if we ordered drinks… I had to go eat my food at Panda, which is across the street… Or they need to make it clearer that they are two different places… Awful.

Very slow service, especially for being inside an airport. The meat was terrible — I asked for medium and it was almost raw. The salad was awful and the fries were soggy. I do not recommend this place at all.
Staff literally doesn’t want to be there. Forgot about my order and lied about why it took so long. I’ll take my chances with fast food either way cheaper prices. They suck
Don’t do it. There’s a reason for having so so many bad reviews. Staff is so rude (after they asked you to tip them high - and you tip them when you order and can’t change it after), food is overcooked, dry (my chicken mush have been in the oven twice the required time) and overall just a bad, bad experience. There’s so many better place at the airport.
I asked for a cup of ice on my way to my flight gate and the lady working said maybe not and walked away. The rest of the wait staff. Would not look at my or offer any help.
This one’s on me. I know better. I was just hungry for a cheeseburger between connecting flights on a long travel day. But please don’t eat here. Prices need to come down. Not sure if this is an indictment on the restaurant or the current state of this country but it’s absolutely criminal to charge $50 for a below average quality/taste cheeseburger/fries/side salad (puny side salad) and beer. $26 for cheeseburger and fries! Was hoping for something like Elways $26 burger in CO…got like a Carl’s Jr quality burger. $14.50 for a yeungling! Am I at a damn Astros game?Literally just go to a fast food place instead. Staff was great though.
Would have left a five star review if not for the horrible QR scanner process for ordering food. Can’t even pay with Apple Pay so I’m sitting there at the bar typing in my credit card information. Not a pleasant experience. Not sure why management has chosen to subject their patrons to such a miserable ordering process.
Extremely disappointed with the service I received, particularly from the bartender on duty at 7:30 AM on May 3rd. The attitude was shockingly rude and unwelcoming. Not what anyone should experience when dining out, especially first thing in the morning. Hospitality is a cornerstone of the food and beverage industry, and unfortunately, that was completely lacking here. Based on this interaction alone, I would not recommend this establishment to others. The chef; however, was extremely nice. He should be upfront and not that woman.
0/10 Service. This place sucks. Three bartenders walking in circles behind the bar, all with a real crap attitude when you ask about the menu. They all just direct you to the QR code even I mentioned 3 times mine was not working. Rodriguez and Guillermo were the two serving us. Both sorta make you feel like an idiot for asking for any kind of help. I’m sat here right now watching them tell another customer to “go ahead and figure out the qr system first, and then we can serve you” What a joke to customer service. I had to wait 20 minutes for them to give me DRAFT beer. 0/10 don’t go. This place sucks
Rip off. Stopped for a glass of wine. I thought it was $9 but when it rang up said $29. I asked the first server and he said things are more expensive at the airport which obviously didn't answer my question. Then he left and didn't return. Then they auto add in a tip so beware. Second server came by and I had to catch a flight so just paid it. $36 for a glass of wine!!
Took 15 mins to get a g and t- male bartender rude and aggressive, after I only enquired about keeping a tab open waiting to order food - he got snippy and said he was being aggressive because I was sensitive lol I’m Australian and was pretty relaxed until he spoke. Took my money elsewhere. He obviously doesn’t care about hospitality or the feanchisees
I went to have a beer the server (he) was super rude when my credit card did work and did not let me go to am ATM. I just had a couple of sips and he snatched my beer and poured into the drain. This happened at Bush Int Airport but I will never go back to this or any of their restaurants.
Ordered an appetizer from here and it took over 30 minutes with missing items. I thought maybe it was just an off day so I decided to give it another chance. I tried it again in the morning when it was empty and it took over 20 minutes for a simple breakfast sandwich that was missing items. Food is bad, even for airport food and there is an incredibly long wait time.
Terminal E of KIAH. It’s the trifecta of expensive food, shitty greasy poorly cooked food and horrible service. But to top It off it’s not fast. They consumed 45 minute of my layover - likely so I would have to shovel this crap down and not realize the bun was burnt and greasy and the patty was dry and overcooked. But don’t worry. I payed before the meal and included the tip - so the service was equally crappy for my 18% tip. Rarely do I post but this is perhaps the worse dining experience I’ve had in an airport in years and that’s says something to be the worse airplane food.. avoid at all costs
After sitting down for about 10 mins and not getting greeted by a server I realized I was supposed to order via QR code and pay like I was ordering a drink on Amazon. What happened to saying I’ll have a Sam Adams and giving the smiling server my credit card?
I understand that food in an airport is not great, but being disrespectful to almost a racist tone is unacceptable. I will never consider spending $20 dollars for a beer in this place again.
Order to go before my flight, waited about 20 mins for the order. I watched the team play and look at guest as if they aren’t there, yes you order at the machine so there is no interaction but there should be a check in, hi how are you or something. None of that happened. I finally get my veggie burger- although I asked for no pineapples, I watched the staff place the order to be picked up then the manager I presume said no pineapples, he proceeds to pick off the pineapples and hand it back because when I got it there was surely pineapples there. And it came to me very sloppy and unappealing. I handed it back to the team and told them the issue, she offered to make it again - she did that and I appreciated it but it was still very messy and not very good- needless to say I ate the fries and threw the rest away.
Stay away from this restaurant, although service is online or web-app based, ordering is easy, but when their system fail, they just don’t know what you ordered, so you wait ling time 20+ minutes to find out they don’t know about your order, find the manager just to tell you… you want your order to go??? I canceled my order and ran to Wendys to get some breakfast before boarding my flight. I still waiting for my $35 refund!!
Dont do it. Worst Quality/Price Ratio ever. Also, service closed up at 9:55 PM so they removed our drinks, although our food arrived 9:50 pm. See menu photo vs. Reality.
I always love to arrive earlier from my flight times so I can have steak for either lunch or dinner at Tanglewood. This time experience was horrible. I ordered one coke and the NY strip (medium) with parmesan brocoli. The coke came so flat and transparent, I asked it to be without ice and see if it would taste different from water. The steak came without the broccoli or the chimichurri sauce, and worse than all, it was well done. I asked the waiter if this was my order and where was the brocoli (earlier they did put down Carne assada on my table, and i was like "fries?", and they quickly noticed the mistake). After the waiter investigation, he said the Chef didn't know about the broccoli or the chimichurri sauce. I ask myself how is that possible? It's literally in the Menu, it's the standard order, nothing special, there is a picture of the brocoli. And it's described in the menu that it comes with broccoli. I was forced to eat the chewy-dry-well done steak as I didn't have time to wait for this mess to be sorted. I also didn't want to create any conflict at the restaurant, but this situation is really unacceptable. I always refer this place to my work colleagues who are constantly flying and this is the first time I have such a disappointment. I want my money back, and I plan on disputing it.
Worst service and the food is even worse. Took them about 30 minutes to bring out my drink then 40 minutes to serve me these Diabolical fries. Spent about 36 dollars for everything in the picture attached. What’s sad is this is EXACTLY how the fries came out. SMH DO NOT COME HERE !
$29 for a burger and tap water. They make you tip ahead of time and then never check on you again. No refills, no one there to ask for extra ketchup, etc…. Not only was the burger expensive, it was dry as hell. Barely any pico and so little guacamole that it was hard to see! Not going back!

One star bc that’s only way it posts. Food was gross no care at all. Brown avocado spread. Not actual avocado slices. Eggs were bad. Everything was bad.
The most disgusting overpriced airport food I've eaten in a very long time. The place looks very nice. I ordered the half chicken and brocolli, my wife ordered the burger and fries. Be aware that you will have to pay for and expected to tip before they even cook your order. Back to the food. My chicken smelled old that I couldn't finish it. It was old meat. The brocolli was cold, they had to give me a new order that still wasn't that hot. My wife's burger was "ok", nothing real special, but the fries were cold. Fortunately, they gave her a new batch that was actually hot. If you value your money, stay away from this place. I should have checked the reviews first. 3.3?! I would have never went there.
The food was overall poor. The Nashville chicken sandwich was more fried than chicken (very thin breast) and it was dry almost to the point of inedible. Cheap ketchup in the cup for the fries. For $20+ more, I expect something else. From order to pickup was 15 minutes and that is unacceptable at an airport. I watched my food sit on a counter for 5 minutes before it was given to me. And that is with 5-6 people in that tiny kitchen! I almost left due to the massive inconvenience. Third bad experience in a row, and always with food quality and lack of speed. I’m not eating here again.
Just trying to order a wine. Everything needs to be done by QR code. Have to say no to apps desert etc. then thy want an email and phone number. For the love of God I just want a drink. The bar mender was good enough to do it the old fashion way. Would never use this place again
Horrible experience here. Staff are extremely unfriendly. I had a few hours before my flight and ordered a cup of coffee. It took over 20 minutes and me having to remind them over and over again. The coffee cup was dirty aswell. By the time I got my coffee, it wasn’t even hot. I finished my coffee and decided to go to a different table because I wanted to watch the live football game, and one of the workers had the audacity to kick me out because I didn’t “order food and that table.” Will never take my business here again, this is the worst I’ve ever been treated at any “restaurant.”
This place completely sucks. Service is incredibly slow…they aren’t attentive…no one even tries to take your order..QR code doesn’t work at the table unless you are on the provided WiFi yet there is no instruction about it…I tried to order twice and still didn’t get to eat before jumping on my 17 hour flight - so so frustrating. Thanks for nothing!
They messed up our order, were out of both drinks we ordered, and were alarmingly overpriced for the quality of food received. The Canadians would be ashamed of this place’s sorry excuse for poutine. No cheese curds, come on! Wish I had a way to get that 18% tip back.
