Zoa Moroccan Kitchen Houston Reviews
I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent service that Cis provided to us. His kindness, professionalism, and dedication made our experience especially pleasant. You can tell when someone enjoys what they do and is committed to offering quality service; his manner and the warmth with which he attended to us elevate the customer experience and truly deserve to be recognized.
Food has so much flavor definitely a must try! This is my go-to spot during my lunch break. The staff is wonderful as well.
Husband and I just tried it for the first time tonight. A make your own bowl and a make your own pita. So. Good! Portions were generous, flavor was impeccable and so many diverse combinations possible. Pita was much larger than I expected albeit slightly dry. We're already excited for the next time!
Great Mediterranean food spot that is under-the-radar. Bowls are really good and ingredients are fresh. Has a nice patio when the weather is cooperative, and some indoor seating when it isn't.
This was our final stop in our road trip and it literally made the trip! The staff member who helped us knew so much, was so warm and welcoming and truly a kind person. He was from Guinea and a delight to talk to; I would go back because of his service. And the food was so fresh and flavorful! Don’t let the “cafeteria style” fool you… it’s worth sitting down at the adorable restaurant (or their seating outside!) We would stop in Houston again just to eat this food (and desserts!!)
Food was great, location was inviting and intimate. There isnt a ton of seating inside but they do have additional seating outside to accomodate more guests. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They walked us through the selections and offered samples based on what we thought we were leaning towards. The food tastes fresh, flavorful, delicious. Both my wife and myself made our own bowl and we made a mini bowl for our daughter. I look forward to coming back for our next visit to Zoa Moroccan. It is definitely worth your time and money to stop in.
This place is an awesome spot for halal food! The flavors are incredible, the portions are generous for the price, and the staff is super friendly. The restaurant is also very clean. I tried the Casablanca Bowl with saffron rice and the lamb meshwi / chicken combo and both were amazing! I would definitely love to eat here again.
I thought this place was very trendy, so I was worried it would lack flavor. Glad to be wrong! The staff was very helpful and let's you try items before adding it to your bowl. I got the saffron rice, lamb, cinnamon raisin onions, lentils, garbanzo salad, goat cheese, and harissa aioli on top. The flavors are all strong, but not overpowering, and perfectly balanced with each other. A little sweetness from the raisins is nice, a very classic Moroccan flavor. There are a lot of protein-filled options, so this was the perfect post-hike meal. Filling, but not too heavy. Their Moroccan sweet tea is also perfect, with jasmine and mint. It's a bit expensive for an everyday lunch, but it's a great treat and well worth the price, in my opinion. Also, the interior and exterior are both absolutely freaking adorable, whoever decorated knew exactly what they were doing. I love the little outdoor nook between the buildings, it's so cute!
I visited with my dining out club FEAST. We called in advance because we were a bigger group and the staff were very friendly and directed us to this location for our club dinner. The restaurant was clean and cozy. The staff were very friendly and helped us put tables together for our group. Rojilio(sorry if I butchered the spelling) was so friendly and helpful. He made it a stellar experience. He answered all our questions about the food and made helpful suggestions. And the food was delicious! Everyone loved their meals. The price is great too. I loved the tumeric cauliflower and the spinach! One of our group eats plant based and said the potato cakes were great. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the meal both for the taste of the delicious food and for the friendly staff. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes. I highly recommend giving them a try!
Experience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Quality: 5/5 This place is soo good. Its a cute little restaurant and a good place to meet with friends with ample seating room. Staff was nice and answered my questions. They have complimentary hot tea which was delicious. I got the Casablanca bowl and it was tasty! My boyfriend got the Fez bowl and he loved it. Will be returning for lunch today.
This is my new favorite place! Went last week, and it was amazing. Everything is fresh and delicious (but, also healthy), especially for the price point. The lady working there was super friendly and helpful. I made my own bowl with the meatballs. My husband got a mix with chicken and lamb, and we both loved everything. We were able to find parking right in front, as there was only one other customer there at the time. I imagine if it gets crowded street parking might be necessary. TLDR: highly recommend this place, and can’t wait to go back!
First time today, the staff was very friendly and explained to us the details of how and what. The food was delicious, and clean. Had the Saffron Jasmine Rice, two meats( chicken and lamb), and toppings. Both chicken and lamb are tender and full of flavors. The rice is perfect. I loved tactouca, and cauliflower topping! We sit outside in the alley, it was beautiful and clean, and also made me feel like I was in the street alley somewhere in the Mediterranean.
I eat here often and really enjoy the food and it still tastes great! However, I’ve noticed over the past few weeks that the portions in the bowls have gotten a lot smaller. I hope the quality and quantity stay consistent especially given the price point.
2⭐️ service and 3 ⭐️ food. Price is a bit high, upwards of $10 a bowl. Food quality and taste is ok. Concept is good and they are also opening a location in Bellaire. Service is quite poor. Very slowly and seems like everyone except one person (seemed like the most competent person there) lacks training and skills. Pretty much don’t go in if there is more than 2 people ordering because they they will be slow and you won’t have a good experience. First person got the rice and protein and then just stopped making the bowl and started making an online order while we just stood there in front of her - lady was not even phased that there is a customer standing there and decided to focus elsewhere. Cashier then mixed up everything and packed our plus the people behinds ours’ food into one and charged us for everything - when confronted to void and recharge the right amount he acted like nothing was wrong. Eventually after multiple tries the one competent person stepped in to fix the issues.
First time visiting and I ordered two bowls for my husband and I. They were good, but the amount of meat in each bowl was extremely disappointing for the price. Other build-your-own bowl places give significantly more protein as the standard portion. I just moved to the area and was hoping this would become a regular spot since I was excited about the topping options, but I’m pregnant and need all the protein I can get. The portion size for the price makes it hard to justify ever coming back.
I usually come here and order the bowl and it’s fine. But today I walked in and ordered and they gave me the absolute smallest portions possible. Like I think maybe 5-6 small pieces of chicken and barely any rice or toppings. I was so shocked I asked “can I at least get a little bit more chicken?” And they said it would be extra. Long story short: they completely gave me half of what I paid for. The bowl was $12 but wasn’t worth it. Not sure if I will come back after this now unfortunately. Also to add: you can tell from my pictures the few pieces of chicken on the side. Very disappointed
They only allow now for you to get six items while charging you $13 for a bowl. The scoops that they give are very small. That used to not be the case. I love this place but refused to be gouged. I’ll just go to cava instead. Blaming this on food costs is BS. I am not talking about the meat portions, im talking about the vegetables. Once I ask for rice and was told it would be $1.75 extra.
