Uncle Jack's Hudson Yards Reviews
We visited November 2020 for my birthday. Fiance ordered the tiramisu desert as a surprise.. it was beyond amazing. We also tried the kobe waygu meatballs, I definitely recommend, they are well worth the money. I'd go back for those alone. Great place. High class but welcoming environment..Cozy and romantic. Will definitely be going back on our next NYC trip.
Food and service were excellent! Really nice atmosphere. Our server Trent was amazing! My family and I were visiting NYC and ate dinner here twice during our trip. Will definitely dine here again!
Amazing evening, staff was very attentive and friendly. Our entire meal was delicious and beautiful presentation The filet mignon was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend and we will be coming back on our next trip to nyc.
We took our kids to Uncle Jacks during our visit to NYC in March for Spring Break. Excellent food and service. The steak was one of the best I have ever eaten. The bacon covered shrimp were excellent. Kudos to the owner, chefs, and server. Nice job. Some of the best food we had in NYC! We were looking forward to trying Uncle Jacks and it did not disappoint. 5 Stars!
Food was absolutely amazing, try the waygu!!! It melts in your mouth
All the food we had at this steakhouse was excellent. The Bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was absolutely delicious with huge shrimp. The Spanish Grilled Octopus was charred just right with a lot of flavor. We had the 20oz bone-in filet and 16oz NY strip. Both were cooked perfectly. The food was paced nicely and the pricing was reasonable for Manhattan. Highly recommend!
Great dinner. Steak was cooked perfect and was so tender. Sides were amazing, asparagus and mashed potatoes. The bar is cool and had a great vibe going. Hailey the hostess was friendly and outgoing. Totally for got the servers name (sorry) but his service and his assists were awesome. Lasty the manage Jeff was spot on. Great job and I highly recommend them if you have never been.
Uncle Jack's Steakhouse is an exceptional restaurant. Its one of the best steakhouse experiences in New York City. The staff is impeccable, anticipating our every need with remarkable efficiency. Well worth the price!
My phone died as we were settling in for a good meal. This place is fancy and very relaxed. Staff server and like a main Server were both very polite and friendly. Food was cooked with perfection and steaks were aged steaks that is something I have never seen in Texas or California. Very very highly recommended. 🥩 🤤
Over the top steaks and chops. Some of the best lamb we have ever had, I'd highly recommend the rack of lamb. Not gamey at all, it was tender and juicy. All of our entrees were cooked to perfection. The portion sizes of the salads and sides are huge and can easily be shared. Nice selections on the menu, typical of a strakhouse. Nostalgic old time decor, courteous and friendly staff. While scaffolding covering the front of the restaurant made it a little hard to find, and hid an attractive entrance, this is a top notch steak house. Very reasonable prices for the quality of meats served. This restaurant does charge an extra fee to use a credit card.
Great restaurant, from the atmosphere/staff, to the salads, steaks and baked potatoes, and Tiramisu and Crème brûlée desserts. Everything was amazing. Will definitely return, thank you!
Just went there on friday evening and had an excellent experience! The staff was so nice, everyone came to check if we were okay and most of the waiters notice that me and my friend were latin and spoke in spanish to him very kind, the food was great as well! we had lobster mac and cheese, a steak sandwich oysters and i had the filet mignon very good👍
Went to NYC for overnight really wanted a steak and a Martini Google top steakhouse in NYC A few cam up but really didn't want to spend 75 and up for a steak Thank You Uncle Jacks! Walked in At7:30 seated immediately. Service was superb Loved our waitress! Decor was elegant. Everything is ala cart Everything is delicious Dessert to go as we were to full! Wonderful night
Best steakhouse experience in NYC! My family & I had an excellent night here! Great Merlot, Bacon wrapped Shrimp, & Filet! They treated our 7 year old son like a true gentlemen! Couldn't have asked for better!Incredible way to end our Spring Break vacation to the Big Apple 🍎 Wonderful night for the memory books!
We were visiting from Denver. They had room for two and sat us nice and cozy steaks were awesome. The lobster was awesome. The sauces were awesome and the ice cream was amazing. Thank you guys will be back next time we come to New York.
Lizzie was amazing. Great bartending services. She made my friends and I feel at home.
Great service, great food. I believe this place wins over Peter Luger for being THE steakhouse of NYC. (And STK is too funky for me) No bs, prime, old-school honest to god steaks. The cuts are all on point and broiled to perfection. Specially the NY strip is ace! It's expensive off course, but not insanely expensive like Nusr Et, and you _almost_ get what you pay for. And great vibe.
Uncle Jack's Steakhouse is a classic New York steak house. The ambience when you walk in is filled with mahogany wood and dim lighting. The smell of the place is warm with an air of the juicy steaks they are cooking in the kitchen. If you are looking for a place to dine guests after a meeting or hanging out with friends who are in town visiting, Jack's is a great place to visit. I would recommend the Tomahawk steak! Juicy and charred to perfection, it's an impressive feat on the eyes. Go to Jack's, you will enjoy it!
Returning to an old favorite and leaving very happy. The service is always top notch and down to earth friendly. Quality is high, and the bar menu presents great value. I'm so happy to see that Uncle Jack's is still at the top of their game. As for the atmosphere, old school New York, 40s feel. Very Nice!
I stopped in for a quick bite when I arrived in NY and I loved it! Aside from the food being immaculate, my waiter/bartender was very friendly and made sure I had a good experience. I tried their lamb lollipops and their lobster Mac and cheese, it was so good. I also had a few glasses of Prosecco, which were smooth. I have already notified my husband that we will visit this restaurant again when we return to NY this year. I cannot wait!
Took a close friend here for a birthday. Food was great, if a little on the pricier side (which is par for the course with any Midtown dining). Staff was outstanding and attentive. Zero issues with them.
We had an exellent diner last night. The steaks were nice and juicy and the steak fries very tasty. We were surprised with a complimentary glass of champagne and a plate with a selection of their desserts. All extremely good. Absolutely recommend this place!
I loved the whole experience. The food may be standard for the bowtie-steakhouse crowd, but that's where it shines. Bone in rare prime filet, wedge salad, blanched asparagus and tiramisu were all given the care and attention they deserved, reminding me of why they're classics.
This place is just as amazing as I remember it being 5 plus years ago! My boyfriend took me here for my birthday; after spending the past year in a half listening to me rave on about this place and specifically this peanut butter bacon dish they have 😬 & let me tell you it definitely didn’t disappoint🤤🤤! Everything was beyond exceptional; from the service, to the food. We will be visiting again for sure. & if you’re are in the area I definitely recommend stopping in and meeting some friendly faces. &&& the bacon!! Don’t forget to try the bacon!
Three of us came to see the Rangers and we were killing time at 5:30 p.m.. Someone referred us to uncle Jack's so I grabbed the quick open table reservation we walked in sat down and the staff was on point quick to get a request and the meal was out and for a great Steakhouse to be in and out under 1 hour is fantastic . Dry-aged steaks were wonderful. Great assortment in the Bread Basket . And the wedge salad was tremendously large . And the bacon very thick that was on it.
Food was exceptional! Service was really good and attentive, even when I told them I had a limited diet, the steak (ny strip 8oz) was just right! I would highly recommend! Not a bad price either for 1 person!
What a gem we stumbled upon while looking for a different steakhouse. Passed this and decided to try it and what a delicious and delightful experience. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being served by Deena S who made our night. Her kindness, her suggestions and her attention to detail made our evening. She was busy but managed to balance all her customers with ease. She made our night such a pleasure. Look for her when you go and get any of the steaks!! Thank you Deena, we will be back to see you.
Our dinner reservation was cancelled at the last minute on new year's eve and we stumbled across this excellent restaurant. The ambience is super professional and cozy! The staff was excellent and the food was amazing! I definitely reccomend it. The prices for the seafood were out of our range, but the rest was fair and the food was delicious and abbondant! I would like to make a suggestion, to not serve the platters on trasporto, curling meat on paper is not ideal, but besides that it was top!
I love this place the staff is very friendly. Sebastian it's fantastic a great cook. A friend took me there and I have been hooked since. All the food was delicious mac & cheese asparagus the wagon steak my favorite is the Fred Flintstone. Also during the summer they had a lobster special, which was also fantastic. I was there at least three times full lobster with friends.
Ali was a great host, he was on top of everything, he made a great suggestion for my wife and loved the waygu wellington, the porterhouse for two a perfect medium rare, the flavor out of this world, the aged meat was delicious. The burguers the sides, we where pleasently surprised and will be back soon.
The filet mignon I had was amazing (especially topped with the blue cheese). Also the truffle fries were nice and crispy. Overall, the service was really great. Patricia was our server and she was very warm and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Uncle Jack’s Westside is always an excellent choice for group events! We’ve hosted our annual client dinner here for several years, and the experience is consistently top-notch. The staff makes booking effortless and is incredibly accommodating to our needs every time. The food is outstanding—high-quality, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and welcoming, making it ideal for both professional and social occasions. Highly recommend Uncle Jack’s for any group event or celebration!
The most amazing steak I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked no complaints! The service was impeccable as well, my back waiter Gavin was extremely accommodating, which was nice as I was having lunch by myself. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a nice bite.
Highly recommend. Plenty of choices for food and drink. Everything was delicious. I had the bone-in filet, and it came out hot, juicy, and perfectly cooked. Appetizers were incredible as well. The banana cream pie was fantastic finish. Whether you are on a date or having a guys night out, would absolutely recommend Uncle Jack’s.
This Steakhouse is near our hotel and rating is higher, so we gave it a try and turned out it didn’t fail us and delivered an unforgettable experience. We ordered bone-in Filet Mignon medium rare, it’s oozing rich, mouthwatering juices with every bite. The New York prime strip medium perfectly seared to a crust, locking moisture and tender. Paired with exceptional service - the waiter served each of us our shared portion of the starter. Not to mention the details of service - the logo of custom-made plate was always facing us, the owner’s hospitality and reception’s welcoming…a dining adventure where every detail shines.
Had a very relaxing meal just before dinner rush. Service was very prompt and our server JP did everything to make sure we were satisfied. Oysters Jackafeller were HUGE! Boneless ribeye had the perfect char. Very convenient before hopping on the train. Thank you again to all the staff, which were very welcoming and accomodating😃
I was in NYC for David Gilmour concert and this place was near my hotel and I couldn't have picked better place to experience. Mesclun organic salad was excellent. I got to experience Kobe beef for first time and it was very delicious. Deanna I think that was bartender I could be wrong with first name...sorry. She was working on Saturday November 9th. Excellent service. She was Top notch for sure. I told her when I visit NYC again that I am absolutely coming back here for dinner. All around, excellent experience.
We recently dined at Uncle Jack Steakhouse and was thoroughly impressed by the quality of their food. The poterhouse steak and lamp chop were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, exactly how a steak should be. The sides were also delicious, complementing the main course perfectly. However, I must admit that the service was a bit below par. Overall, despite the slight hiccup in service, the exceptional quality of the food at Uncle Jack Steakhouse makes it a dining destination worth visiting. With a little improvement in service efficiency, it could easily become a top-notch establishment.
Beautiful restaurant place. Friendly and very helpful team here. The food is unique steak KOE BEEF 🥩 from Japan 🇯🇵 WAGYU and STRIPLOIN very soft texture don’t have to go to Japan steak is available here in New York restaurant. We also love the baked clam. The lobster salad very perfect taste. Over all food very great service here excellent Reese server and the manager very great service. Stop by try this restaurant experience yourself. Price is very good for service like this place. I recommend. Come back when I visit NYC again.
Surprised we had to send steaks back due to being under cooked. First time ever after many visits. Good drinks, nice salads, quality of meat fine. A vegetable of the day option wouldn't hurt.
I really loved the ambiance when I entered the dining room. The tables were spaced out fine and our seats were indeed comfortable. It was my first time having steak in New York with the fact that this is my third year here. I didn't like it when the whole steak was divided onto our plates as I wanted to keep them hot and not have them all on one plate, but the cooked quality was fine with some parts being a little oily than others. I do love to get into a a little chat with the waiters which makes me much more welcomed! Enjoyed my experience overall. 🥗 Fresh Buffalini Mozzarella Tomato Salad $20 🥩 Porterhouse for Two (44oz) $149 🥩 Prime Rib Chop (24oz) $89 🧈 Sides - Garlic Mashed Potato $12 🧈 Sides - Sautéed Asparagus $15
This is our first time to come to this steakhouse on Manhattan. It looked like a typical American steakhouse. Service was excellent and food tasted good, except the Long Bone Tomahawk Chop was a bit of overcooked. But it is a bit pricey as expected due to this is a steakhouse at this location.
Very nice tuna and steaks. Lamb chops were specially delicious. Can't go wrong there, went twice to this place.
First time to visit for a business lunch as I moved nearby. It was nice traditional steakhouse like many that have been in NYC for decades. Good food and menu covered all the basics of what a traditional steakhouse should cover on the menu. Good food and service and was present experience
Uncle Jack's Steakhouse almost got 5 Stars. This restaurant has a great location only a few blocks from New York Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, not very far from other attractions such as Broadway or Empire State building. I've always wanted to check this place out as it is only a few hundred feet away from the B and H Superstore on the 9th Avenue. I finally got a chance to try it before heading off to the Billy Joel concert at MSG. Like another reviewer, I got there right before the dinner rush with my wife and niece. We were able to snag a table without any issues. However, I did notice that 45 minutes later around 6:30 PM people having difficulty getting a table without a wait. Before I get to areas that were negative and there were only a few (major ones if you have a disability), let's accentuate the positive. The staff were super gracious and attentive. The food, was excellent. We had the Wagyu Kobe Meatballs as the App. and they were melt in your mouth delicious. The entrees did not disappoint. My wife had the salmon (I know, salmon in a steak place?) and my niece and I had the boneless aged NY strip. All were cooked to perfection and one would expect nothing less from a landmark steakhouse. We shared the sides, loaded mash potatoes, Sauteed asparagus and a creamy corn dish. Seasoning and temperature all on point. Some Observations – This restaurant is wheelchair accessible from the street to the main seating area and bar are accessible for wheelchairs or scooters. Tables were large and could easily handle multiple wheelchairs. The staff appeared to be familiar with wheelchair seating as they mentioned providing the right kind of table. We were seated but soon found out that there was a slight leak in the roof when my wife noticed water droplets on my shirt and napkin. We moved the table over and they were very apologetic, however when I looked up at the ceiling it appears that this has been a long-standing issue as the paint peeled around the park that was leaking and you could tell there was water damage that had been there for a while. This is surprising for such a high-end restaurant. —The restrooms to this restaurant are upstairs and they are in accessible to wheelchairs or people with mobility issues or devices. If using a restroom is super important to you you may want to skip this restaurant. — Like most restaurant in this area especially since the development of the Hi-Line and Billionaires Row things are pricey. This is not a budget restaurant, as an example 5 small appetizer meatballs cost $25. The most expensive protein item on the menu is the Kobe beef steak, 16 ounces for $300 (sides not included). There are options such as the ones that we chose network $35, however, if you are coming to this place or any other place in New York City and our meeting someone who may not be able to afford these prices, please be cognizant of your privilege.
Top notch steaks! Baked Clams were luke warm upon serving. Waiter was kind but bumbling and forgetful. Apple Strudel had a very off taste, almost blue cheese like, Ick! very disappointing( we had taken it to- go so it was only discovered after the meal) Steaks are the stars, creamed spinach was tasty and the baked potato is big enough for 2. Was my first time at Uncle Jacks
Overall great experience. Classic old school steakhouse atmosphere, very cozy upstairs. Martini was on point. Ceasar salad was delicious. Our server was extremely attentive and accommodating. Only critique would be the steak temperatures could have been perfected a tad bit more. But would certainly go back.
Food was good not disappointed. Prices were great which may have been the best part. The wait staff was extremely helpful, friendly, police, and everything else you could ask for. Shout out to Patricia for being the best.
I am always exploring restaurants and a few days ago I was here the atmosphere is great the food is very good the service I rate it giving a 7 because I ordered a hamburger but the street menu said something different than what they deliver to the table I ordered my food but the surprise was that I had already selected the hamburger that I saw on the menu outside and when they delivered my food my hamburger was missing the tomato and onion I asked the waiter what is happening because these ingredients are missing he told me it is that you ordered it does not have this I asked him but the menu says so okay okay I asked him when is the value of what is missing a man approached with a loud and annoyed tone I think he was the boss and I told him what happened and I offered to pay for the excess of the tomato and onion but he was a little rude when he told me that I did not have to pay for that but he noticed that the restaurant menus and the one outside were different He immediately reviewed and changed the menu. The place is very nice and the food is delicious.
It was good. Too many places to choose from in Manhattan.. Probably won't go back. But it wasn't bad...
The only steakhouse, where steak comes WITHOUT mashed potatoes, veggies or any other condiments. Though, the steak was good and mashed potatoes cost $10 per serving, making it very expensive. BEWARE! When they bring you the bill and when they swipe your credit card, there will be a difference in the amount. When they swipe your credit card, they add extra $1-2 and call it is as - “Surcharge fee” which they don’t add while giving you the bill. I still don’t understand why do a restaurant that has some tables empty, want to charge a “Surcharge fee”? Moreover, why don’t they add this so called “Surcharge fee” in the bill? Though their food is good but their money/prices practices are not good. So, when you go next, be prepared.
Made reservation for New Years Eve thinking the place would be slammed. It was not. Almost empty at 7pm? Food was ok for a $300 bill for 3 people. Steaks were all cooked to the wrong temps. Waiter was a bit snobby. Not worth the price.
I took my client for a business dinner on a weeknight. Even though the tables were less than 1/3 full in the restaurant, service was slow. We were guided in a small table where all waiters had to go through behind us, because there's a big group sitting really close to us. I requested a few times that we were in very uncomfortable space, and finally, our request was accepted and sat a a better table. The entire time we were there, the restaurant was not even close to a half full, but they kept telling us that they needed bigger (for 4ppl) tables for a bigger group of guests. The appetizer (lobster salad) we ordered was good and fresh, wine was also great. But steak came out just warm, like they forgot to bring the dish and left in the kitchen for 15 min. Our waiter was nice and friendly, but he wore such a strong perfume that ruined aroma of food. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience.
Went here with a group. The steak I and my wife got was Luke warm and flavorless. I have never wasted a fillet ever in my life, but I did here. I just could not eat it. She did not eat hers either. The orher couple got different steak selection and they ate theirs and thought it was ok and just average. The wait staff were not great. Long waits in between coming to our table. A couple people in our group ordered dessert and it was 30min until they got it. Wait staff forgot to bring it and finally noticed and eventually brought it. They did like their dessert after they finally got it. The only thing I liked was Mac & Cheese as I thought it was ok, but nothing special. Not a place I would recommend and would not waste good money to go there is my recommendation.
My dad has been wanting to come here for almost a year, so we finally went. At first, the service seemed great , they were checking in often, refilling cups nonstop. Right when we sat down, the server asked, “Tap or sparkling?” We said sparkling without thinking twice. No one mentioned it cost extra. Then the bill came, and boom — $20 for a bottle and a half of sparkling water. If we knew, we would’ve gone with tap or maybe just one bottle. Burger & fries (me) – $26 and tasteless. I sent it back. Crab cake (mom & sister) – I liked it, they thought it was just okay. Mashed potatoes (sister) – Bland. Mac & cheese, onion soup, steak sandwich (brother) – He said all of it was trash. Dad’s order – Burger (needed seasoning, he didn’t finish it), avocado salad (good), lobster bisque (good), lobster mac & cheese (okay, no real flavor, lobster was disappointing). Pistachio cake – Weird aftertaste, not good. Tiramisu – Just okay. Apple dessert – Nope. Good service on the surface, but the sneaky water charge left a bad taste, and unfortunately, so did most of the food. Even my dad, who’d been hyped to try this place for months, said he wouldn’t come back.
No heating apparently as we were freezing despite of not close to window. Waiter Tony was very nice but seemed upset with chaotic situation at the front desk. Requested medium done steak. It came raw. Not a good place for formal dinner. Front desk manager very rude. Dessert was excellent. Steak was hopeless. Never going back again.
First, the positive. Uncle Jack's 9th St. Location was close to our hotel and was a beautiful restaurant. I chose it because of proximity and the good reviews. My 16-year old daughter and I both ordered Prime Filet Mignon 8oz, hers medium rare and mine medium. We figured since this was a high-end steakhouse they'd hit it right in the mark. My daughter ordered a Caesar Salad and I ordered the garlic mashed potatoes. My daughter has a peanut and tree nut allergy, and our waiter was quick to note the croutons on the salad couldn't be served, which was perfectly fine and appreciated. After a minute in the kitchen, the waiter returned to say the garlic mash had nuts in it (odd, but ok), asked if I wanted them anyway or offered a baked potato instead. I chose the baked potato since I thought my daughter might want to have some, plus we don't eat nuts around her. The baked potato was delicious, but I was a little shocked that the waiter brought the garlic mash to the table anyway. They went uneaten. Now the bad, the steaks... The steaks came out dry and overcooked. The flavoring was ok, but overcooked meat is just the pits. Especially at steakhouse prices. When we pointed out that they were overcooked, the waiter looked at the steaks and offered me au jus. We aren't big complainers and try to be accommodating, so I agreed. He came back with the au jus, poured some over my steak and walked away without offering my daughter a drop. Almost as if he were annoyed. Well, let's just say she is her mother's kid and she didn't like that one bit! I said I would get him back, and she had already made her mind up - nope, she was done. She felt overlooked. This was after I was offered lemon for my water earlier in the meal and she wasn't offered any. Just because she's a 16-year old 'kid', she shouldn't be overlooked. At that point, we decided the au jus wasn't helping, and I was paying for a nice meal, I decided to say something again about the steak being overcooked. The waiter stated the steaks looked to be cooked ok and made no offer to make us new ones (I somewhat expect there was a slight language barrier). I was shocked. We ate less than half our steaks. I paid our bill (against my better judgement), and we left. I should have asked for a manager before leaving, but I was so mad it wouldn't have been productive that night. My opinion - it may be worth considering an alternative steakhouse. I hope they were just having an "off" night, but we don't get to NYC often, and $100/person should be a SOLID steak dinner and a really nice experience in NYC.
You'd assume a steakhouse knows how to cook steaks...but none of the steaks we ordered were cooked the way we asked for. All the medium steaks were rare. The medium well steak was medium rare. There was also no salt. Like at all. Even the butter I got had no salt. I was confused by this. The sides were fine. Nothing special. The service left a lot to be desired. They never came by the refill our drinks. We had to ask multiple times for drinks before we had any refills. They were bussing the tables before we even had a chance to finish eating. I didn't care to try and order dessert because it seemed as though they were just trying to push us out. The music made no sense. It went from Frank Sinatra to Katy Perry to classical music. I was confused what vibe they were going for.
My dining experience includes an order of Wagyu meatballs for appetizer and pork chops for main course. The Wagyu meatballs tasted gamey and smothered in this dark gray sauce. Wagyu should not have a gamey taste and suspect another type to meat was used. The pork chop was tough and chewy. I do not recommend potential diners to order the above.
I was visiting NY and took a client out to dinner, with a small group. I ordered a filet mignon, medium rare. First one came out medium, second one came out medium. Finally I asked for a rare steak, which was rare and chilled on the inside. The staff tried to resolve the issue quickly, but how do you mess up a steak that bad, twice? What really made a bad situation worse is when the server decided to cut into the second steak she served me as to say, "see it's not medium" which was still medium!! Bottom line, the other food was average at best. Not a good experience, I will not be returning and definitely would not recommend.
Came in for a late lunch after a show at the Javitz center. Ordered a lychee martini. At first, tasted good. Five minutes later my stomach started to hurt so I assumed it was just from not eating. After eating half of my steak sandwich I found it odd my stomach was still hurting. I took another sip of the drink and I immediately felt nauseated. I ran to the bathroom because I honestly thought I was going to throw up. When I explained to the bartender that I could not finish the other half of the drink because it was making me feel sick she just gave me the bill. I should of spoken with a manager to have it removed from the bill but in the moment I just wanted to get out of there before I got sick. Shortly after leaving I threw up in the street. Clearly something in the drink was bad. I was planning on coming back for dinner one night because there were a few things on the menu that intrigued me but after this experience I will not be returning.$68 just to get sick. Very disappointing.
So HORRIBLE! I ordered a medium rare burger to go. When they brought me the check it was $4 more than on the menu. When I asked why there was such a difference, they told me they added bacon! I don't eat bacon and I didn't order it! The burger was overcooked and tasted and looked burnt! I called the restaurant and asked for the manager, I waited more than 10 minutes to talk to the manager! When I got indignant and asked her name, a girl named Hallie was rude to me and hung up!
Please take your hard earned money and purchase dinner at ANY other great NY steakhouse and not this tourist trap. It's hard to overstate how bad this meal was. There wasn't a single dish that was redeemable except perhaps the bread and warm butter at the beginning of the meal. The shrimp cocktail was rubbery and waterlogged. The "thick cut bacon" was basically just bacon. The Ceasar salad was stale, lifeless, and the giant piece of tried cold toast that was intended to be the "crouton" made no sense. The asparagus was undercooked and prepared such that the bottom half of the asparagus stalks were inedible... I mean how do you screw a dish that simple up? The steak was... fine. But served barely warm... which is surprising given it was supposedly cooked under a 1800 degree heat. The fries were decent and the creme brulee wasn't bad. You can do better almost anywhere else in the city.
Don't eat here. Food is over priced and not good. Steak was very rubbery. It was six of us and all of our food was bad. Lobster bisque soup was disgusting. We left hungry.
I've had a nice lunch at Uncle Jack's so I decided to go there with my wife on Valentine's Day. It was very disappointing. The appetizers -- a shrimp dish and lobster bisque -- were good and came in a timely manner. Then our wait began. We had a straight forward order: We ordered a strip steak, spinach and fries. And yet we waited and waited. We walked into the restaurant at 5:35 pm and the entre appeared at 6:54 pm, forcing us to gulp down dinner as we had 7:30 theater reservations. And bewilderingly the steak was lukewarm at best, and no one offered an explanation. A bad experience.
