Aroma Espresso Bar New York Reviews
We stayed next door for 4 nights and I could not have been more pleasantly surprised to find such a perfect cafe so close. Great drink selection from coffee to lattes and even drinks for our kids (juices, smoothies). The marshmallow latte I had the first day was delicious and I enjoyed their light roast more than the dark. The bagels are amazing and the danishes are super fresh as they make it all themselves. As I have said, the food is great and it’s all complemented by an amazing staff that is helpful, smiling and patient. It’s funny because everyone is in a hurry in NY, but their team here works fast and efficient, but doesn’t demean, rush or be rude at any moment. And sat here each day for an hour or so and just watched the hustle and bustle from sandwiches to full on breakfasts and more. Wonderful job all the way around. We will be back.
We popped in at this Cafe’ on a spur and were extremely pleased with everything!! They have so much to offer, whether you’re looking for coffee, breakfast or a quick lunch/dinner this place has something for you. You won’t regret paying them a visit, we certainly didn’t. Will definitely add it to my list of places to frequent when traveling to NYC!!
Ordered the fajita salad and it didnt need any sauce, dressing or anything extra for flavor. The Verde drink was fresh and tasted delicious!
One of the best bagels in New York City. Coffee okayish, but the food is amazing!
Great service, the staff is very friendly and helpful (hablan español también). The bagel was delicious, the tiramisu was amazing and the sandwiches were good.
We enjoyed our meals at the Café Aroma while staying at the Arlo Midtwon. Great food, great services and reasonable price.
During our trip to New York, we were lucky to have this lovely café just around the corner. We picked up our coffee here every day and had breakfast several times. The staff was always friendly, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. I’m really going to miss this place!
This is my absolute favorite cafe in Manhattan. The pastry is always fresh and delicious! The coffee and latte are also outstanding. Staff are great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat or have sweets!
One of my favorite cafes in the city. It’s one of those rare spots in NYC where you can take a break from the city’s constant rush and just relax for a bit. The atmosphere is cozy, and the latte is really good.
Called here while visiting NYC. Situated just round the corner from our hotel this was a nice find. Great selection of Bagels, Sandwiches and pastries. Coffee was one of the nicest I have tasted and better than the usual chain brands. Give this place a try if you’re in the neighbourhood
We came to this place twice! Breakfast was great. Had hot and iced coffee that tasted perfect combination of sweet and coffee. My husband got pancakes, egg and bacon. I ordered the everything bagel with cream cheese and salmon! Both were amazing. On the first day ordered a croissant which was perfectly flakey with a hint of sweetness on top!
They made the sandwich just the way I wanted, with out poultry and with avocado instead, and customized our order just for us - fabulous place, fantastic people and good atmosphere! We have come here almost everyday for breakfast during our trip and it is wonderful food everytime!
Every time I’m in New York, this café is my go-to breakfast spot. The food is always fresh and delicious, the atmosphere cozy and welcoming, and the staff—especially Miss Lauren—make you feel truly cared for. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to start their day with a smile🤗 and one of the important point for jet lagged people, they open at 6.30 am .
Aroma has great coffee!! And I love the breakfast food. It’s my go to spot on the way to work everyday!!!
4/28/25 Cafe Aroma has become my #1 option for my favorite 4 egg whites on whole wheat toast breakfast sandwich. The food here is just special. Delicious, above average & upscale. The prices & consistently kind/courteous staff here reflect this. Seems like a sort of hip work from home crowd that hags out here gazing at their laptops with intent. Hot tourist spot too.
Nice little cafè in midtown. Nice staff as well. Service was nice and quick. I had an iced latte and French toast and both were really good. They have quite the selection from coffee, pastries, sandwiches and more. Clean and well kept space too. Definitely coming back here. Highly recommend.
Great cafe with views of the NYC hustle outside. We’ve been back to this place 2 days in a row as the bagels and coffee is good! They don’t burn the coffee / milk like other places do and the bagels are cooked well. Many food options available and an easy place to sit down and chill or work with a laptop. Fast friendly service too!
As a French girl, the croissant are really well done and the chocolate bretzel are a must ! The service is fast and easy and the place itself is really cute with quite a good capacity to sit. I would really recommend
This shop is absolutely cute and cozy. The price is not too high and you will get a good quality out of it. They have a bakery and the cakes are not bad. The cashier is kind, super helpful and patient and all the workers clean this place here and there so the place looks really near and tidy. Price is high but in this neighbor and with their service- I cant ask for more. I will surely come back if I ever visit this place again
This place has the best employees. A younger gentleman with dark hair and beard he is in pics below works there that my son liked. He was picking out cookies and the man was like you will not regret it the chocolate chip cookie. He get back to hotel room. And my son was like he is right and we went back 3 more times during our stay. All pastries were amazing.
Amazing almond croissant!!! Must try it!! And tasty cream cheese and salmon bagel, and tasty, hot latte coffee! Friendly customer service! This place gets very busy very early and it’s no wonder as it’s so yummy! Thank you team! Also for the tourists, there is a US Mail box in front of the cafe so you can send your postcards!
The croissants sandwiches were so delicious. I ate one every morning while I was in New York. The staff was very friendly. The place is small but still big enough to be comfortable. I recommend the smores ice coffee. My husband had the banana one and didn’t like it too much. I also tried the chocolate chip muffin and chocolate croissant. They were delicious as well but nothing crazy.
Cafe Aroma is a cozy spot worth checking out. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. They offer a decent selection of food and drinks. We tried their Tuna Melt and Egg sandwiches and were delicious. The hazelnut iced coffee and the cappuccino are recommended. The staff were friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices were for the area and quality. Credit cards accepted. It's a nice place to meet up with friends or grab a quick bite. Overall, a solid choice for a casual dining experience.
This place is truly amazing, the staff, the food, the coffee always makes my day. I am a tourist from Australia who comes from a big coffee culture, and we have big expectations about coffee, and this place exceeds those standards. My mum and I came here every morning (sometimes lunch), for nearly 3 weeks. One of the workers, Saun, really went above and beyond to make every morning special, and made me feel right at home. I could not recommend this place enough, Thank you for all your kindness, as well as your amazing service/food.
Just around the corner from many hotels, this is your go to place for quick, healthy and delicious meals. Open early until late, it has great bakery, breakfast and lunch options, açai bowls, smoothies, juices, sweet treats and drinks. And importantly good espresso coffee! Ate here every day for 2 weeks!!
not the prettiest interior/cafe BUT LITERALLY THE BEST FOOD!! the pastries are insanely good, croissants, donuts, cakes, cheesecakes, muffins + everything they have on their menu (bagels, toasts, pancakes, acai bowls etc!) quiet pricey but so worth it!! my parents absolutely loved it and came here every morning!
A great local cafe with good seating, friendly staff and great, fast service. It can be busy, but tables rotate quickly and we never waited more than 5-10 mins for seats to open up. Really great, reliable food with lots of options and great beverage selection. We were in NYC for a week and this became our regular. Excellent.
From mocha to hot chocolate, sandwiches and pastries freshly baked, Cafe Aroma brings home the aroma of a perfect New York cafe! A clean bathroom awaits as your coffee is expertly prepared, clean tables and a nice atmosphere for checking emails or taking a break from your busy commute. Try the cheesecake slices and you'll have a taste that rivals even Juniors! Cafe Aroma has it all, stop in and have a sip, I mean a seat, ok both!
Spent a week in New York and this is where me and my son had breakfast every day it was that good. Bagels were amazing and lots of choice. Pancakes and French Toast also really good. We tried both the cinnamon roll and ore cinnamon roll, both out of this worl. Great selection of drinks too, had the ginger melon and an iced macha latte. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the oatmeal but general I think it's just so different to how the UK make it and not a reflection of the cafe. Definitely recommend this place. Quite expensive but definitely worth it
Aroma offers a cozy and inviting ambiance with a solid selection of breakfast options. The hot chocolate croissant is buttery and flaky, with a rich chocolate filling that melts perfectly. The coffee is smooth and well-balanced, making it a great pairing with pastries. The egg sandwich is satisfying, with fresh ingredients and a well-seasoned filling. The açaí bowl is refreshing, packed with vibrant fruits and a good texture. Overall, a great spot for a quick and delicious breakfast or coffee break.
This place is busy. I understand that the workers were trying their best because this place is always packed. Prices are a little outrageous but it’s in Manhattan near Times Square so what do you expect. I got the lox bagel and it was delicious, as well as the oatmeal which I’m surprised how much they gave me for such a good price compared to other things. Highly recommend this place.
Stopped in looking for a chocolate chip cookie. They had a fantastic baked goods selection. They had everything but chocolate chip cookie. So I grabbed a double espresso. Espresso was good, the service was very very friendly and prompt. I think the coffee was nothing to write home about. But it was still pretty good. The atmosphere is awkward, but is spacious with a seating area.
We had a regular and decaf latte and New York cheesecake at Cafe Aroma. The cheesecake was delicious. The cafe has various cakes, sandwiches, and oatmeals for breakfast, as well as many drinks in the fridges. The person who took our order was friendly. If you're looking for coffee in New York, it's a great place to go.
I ate breakfast here for almost a month. The bacon looks and tastes like plastic. The waffles are really good and so are the pastries and coffee. The only thing that I tried ordering several times and it was consistently bad was the bacon. The omelets don’t come like an omelet. They just plate the ham and bacon on top of the egg and cheese omelet. They should honestly change the bacon 🥓 quality. Its plastic tastes like nothing.
During my visit, I tried the Lotus coffee but found it disappointing, as it did not have the expected flavor profile. I opted for an Americano instead, which was satisfactory. On a positive note, the bagel with cream cheese was enjoyable, and the service was attentive and friendly. While the coffee did not meet expectations, the overall experience was pleasant.
Cafe Aroma has a very nice and upbeat vibe to it. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. I got the Vega Breakfast Platter. The omelette was good. It was nothing extraordinary but it was a solid omelette. My girlfriend got the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. The croissant was light and the egg was decent. They forgot her bacon but she also didn’t notice until I pointed it out so I’m not deducting anything from my review for that. It’s a solid place if you want to go get a quick breakfast.
This is one of my favorite coffee spots in the Times Square Area. It's always super clean, has nice relaxing music, and the food is not only delicious, but looks it too. The people that work here are friendly and patient (considering how busy it gets). There are lot's of options on the menu for food and drink, and there's lot's of healthy ones.
Have been here three times in the last two months for breakfast on weekends. The food is pretty decent, albeit seems mostly pre-made -- there are many tables for dining in, but the food is prepared and served more for quick eats or grab-n-go. Service is fairly quick. Tipping must be in cash -- can't tip using cards -- which is kinda inconvenient, because I have to remember to bring cash 😅
The place is nice, coffee was good! My pre-made sandwich took 15 minutes to be heated and handed over after it was paid. The sandwich has no sauce or dressing so it was very dry. I had the chicken sandwich and my partner had the vegetarian sandwich, both very dry.
Came here twice. Yesterday, I got a regular caramel machiatto and I dranked it so fast I was wanting more. The girl that worked yesterday was sweet and very professional. Today, 2/10@ 10:10am, the lady got my fiancée coffee wrong and got the size of my coffee wrong. They had to make both our coffee again. The customer service from this lady today was terrible. I just feel she needs to learn better customer service. Otherwise, our coffee was great!
Chaos. It doesn’t seem like they have a system. The bagels were soft and pillowy - delicious. However, the baked goods weren’t very fresh. The breakfast sandwich had the meltiest cheese, and fresh eggs and bacon. Drinks were nine dollars for two juices!!!! TWO! My kids, “the atmosphere was fun and friendly. Every bite of food was a typical bite from a typical cafe except the bagel. The bagel has the perfect texture, taste, and it seemed like equivalent to perfection” “I didn’t like that they got our order wrong”
Coffee and pastries are fine. Lots of seating. Gave it a lower review score because after I got home, I saw that they charged me a fee for using my debit card to make purchases there (Staying at a hotel close by). There was nowhere posted inside the store or at the cash register that there was an additional fee for using a debit card. So buyer beware! Use cash. Every six dollar coffee ended up costing me almost $10 due to fees.
This was on the corner up from where we were staying. My wife likes this kind of place, I don't but agreed to try it. For me it was a big meh as the coffee was pretty thin and my bagel was pretty bland.. but to my surprise my wife agreed. she said the staff were surly and acted like they were doing her a favour. Her words, I never interacted with them. Needless to say we gave it a swerve for the rest of our visit.
Looks great on the outside, but skip the chicken croissant sandwich- espresso- hazelnut cappuccino- and the açaí berry bowl. None of it tastes good. Thought the açaí bowl was fresh made, it comes looking like something from McDonalds and covered in sugar glaze. Was looking for a healthy add to the breakfast and could not eat it with the amount of sugar added to the bowl. Wouldn’t spend the $43.50 again here. Couple next to us also couldn’t eat their food and tossed it as a loss.
I recently visited this café and unfortunately, the atmosphere was really disappointing. It was extremely loud – to the point where you could barely hear yourself think, let alone have a conversation. Definitely not a place to enjoy a quiet meal. The food was okay, and the prices were reasonable. The salame was tasty. But unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the chaotic environment. All in all, not a place I’d choose to return to.
careful with theft and add-ons.. added ham to bagel and they charged 6.96 dollars for a slice because is “the good ham”.. from 4.99 to 11.95 with a random tax item concept.. then on the bagel with egg somehow it went from 5.95 to 15.95.. so now ham is $10 because is harder to put it in a bagel with egg somehow.. ham is clearly 2 dollars and there’s no “good ham in the menu”.. the person at the front was dishonest about it and refused to accept and adjust to the actual price.. this is plain theft
This place is terrible. It’s a shame because the food looks okay. 2 out of the 3 times I tried here they messed up my order. I always take it to go and the last time was the first time I checked my order and was able to nip the issue in the bud. The only problem was the staff was so rude and treated me like I was inconvenicing them for correcting my order. Terrible customer service, decent food. Way better places around within a 3 minute walk
TERRIBLE. The pancakes were way too grainy. Tasted like they didn’t mix the batter all the way just threw it in the pan. Bacon was UNDERCOOKED. And when I asked them to cook it a little longer the cook turned his back on me and ignored me.
So let's start with the good. The waffles were good. It's a nice pretty nice little place with lots of options. The bad. They got the order wrong and on top of that the charged me more than was advertised. The one coffee that was correct tasted terrible. And besides the waffle, the food was pretty mid. Would not recommend.
Not pleasant experience at all. The Staff spoke down to us as I was getting a bit confused as wanted a smoked Nova salmon bagel with everything like tomato and capers and they were so unhelpful and rude. Ordered the nova Salmon bagel and it turned up with a tiny about of salmon, especially for the price. I asked if I could get the extras on top, happy to pay but the lady was so rude and said I ordered the wrong thing, which would have been nice to know when I was asking before ordering. Not nice staff at all and not nice food, a total waste of money.
The worst place I've been to in NYC. The service was bad, I didn't get what I ordered and it was gross 🤢 I ordered coffee and bagel and the coffee was cold and tasteless and the bagel didn't have any spread in it although I asked for one. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money there
As a local, I genuinely wanted to like this place — but after giving it two tries, I can confidently say it’s both overpriced and overrated. What stood out most was the unpleasant attitude of the staff, which left a lasting negative impression. On my most recent visit, I ordered an avocado toast and forgot to mention I wanted it on whole wheat bread. I immediately tried to get the cashier’s attention, but she seemed disengaged. I then approached one of the employees behind the sandwich counter — who was standing right in front of me — and called out to him multiple times. He blatantly ignored me until he finally turned around, only to roll his eyes and walk off without even acknowledging what I said. While he did end up using whole wheat bread (which I appreciated), his attitude was completely unnecessary and rude. When I got back to my office and opened the container, I was shocked. The avocado toast — priced at $15.80 — was tiny, barely the size of a tile. No tomatoes, no onions, just plain and sad. While the coffee was decent, it's simply not worth enduring that kind of dismissive treatment just for a basic breakfast…and…they don’t serve fresh orange juice. There are plenty of other places in town where I can get better food, friendlier service, and more value for my money. I’d rather take my business elsewhere.
