Sushi Star Hudson Yards Reviews
I am kind of a sushi snob not in a mean way just that I have a hard time eating sushi that isn't good, so I am typically prepared to not enjoy it and move on, but if I find somewhere that goes above and beyond you know I have to leave a review. Because people who are doing an amazing job deserve the awareness. This is truly a shining star in a city that needs more like it, the staff are all extremely genuine and watching them prepare your sushi with such expert skill and care makes the experience so much more special. From their recommendation to their craft Sushi Star knows what they are talking about. Highly HIGHLY recommend their eel omg. To. Die. For.
What makes this place special is its quiet confidence. There’s no need for flashy presentations or modern twists — the excellence speaks for itself. Every detail, from the quality of the ingredients to the careful preparation, reflects, Since I came to this beautiful place, I was fascinated by the attention and the excellent service. Just as the name suggests, the sushi truly deserves five stars.
I did to go, Very fresh, and tastes really good I think i can eat everyday.
The sushi is great and conveniently located right near Hudson Yards! Really friendly staff too, ask for Aris!
The food, the service, the ambiance, everything was amazing!! I got the chicken teriyaki bento box and that was delicious, but the star of the show had to be the spicy tuna crispy rice, OMG that was absolutely everythingggg! My server Mohini was the sweetest.. it was my first visit there and we became besties already! If you haven't tried this spot already, what are you waiting for?!?
Excellent sushi. The Manhattan roll was amazing and we went back the next night to get it again. High quality sushi that melts in your mouth. Very friendly service and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Delicious! The Snow White roll with yellowtail and spicy scallop was so fresh, and the Black Dragon roll had wonderful flavor and texture. Cute little place, friendly service. Definitely recommend!
I was looking for a great sushi place based on the Google review ratings and I was not disappointed. I got the Sashimi delux. Portion sizes were huge and the quality was great. My server was also really great. Friendly, pleasant conversationalist, and quick to attend. Next time I am back in town, I will be sure to stop by.
Good price for the quality, especially considering the area. All the workers were really nice. Seated immediately around 6:45pm on a Thursday and food came out quickly. Highly recommend the salmon on the crispy rice, as the salmon serving was nice! Dragon roll was just okay, as I felt my tempura was too small. However, the generous serving of avacado made me feel better about it. 😅 plus side: it looks super cute! lol.
Came here today with my partner and this is hands down the best sushi I’ve eaten. Usually i find it hard to find places to eat sushi since i’ve got a shellfish allergy, but the restaurant was extremely accommodating and I had a great experience. We got the 2 people sushi platter, miso soup, and vegetable dumplings and it was fabulous. The atmosphere was nice and intimate as well, with chilled music. Really not a single thing to fault 😍
Such great sushi and sweet owners! I brought in a heart shaped tray and asked the owners if they could fill it with one of their sushi platter specials for our Galentine’s Day party - and we were so incredibly impressed with the result! Everyone agreed the sushi was delicious and the presentation and detail was beautiful. Great price as well. Will definitely be back here again!
I went there by chance! After walking for 30 mins to reach a Thai restaurant which was rated high, I couldn’t order because most of their food is spicy . I just looked next door and Found Sushi Star✨⭐️🌟 Japanese Restaurant One of my favorite cuisines. I was blessed, cozy place, delicious food, and a very pleasant lady server. All my orders were tasty. Once I come back to Newyork, I will dine in it for sure 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Went here for lunch and they had a pretty cozy spot in Hell’s Kitchen. Great for a quick bite to rush back to the office but I’d would recommend getting it to go since the amount of space isn’t a lot and can get crowded when the offices are back in full swing. They had my favorite Seared Salmon Belly, which in my opinion, could have been better but I’m not complaining since it’s the closest sushi place to work and they have the seared salmon. I also tried the firecracker roll which was absolutely amazing. The roll was fried with cream cheese and fish inside. Absolutely amazing. A must try.
I passed this place a few days ago and saw a long line. It peaked my interest and I decided to stop by. Well, I enjoyed every bite and it was worth every cent! The seafood tasted so fresh and delicious it felt like I was eating at a beach resort in the Bahamas! The only thing missing was a nice ocean sea breeze. Welcome to my new hidden oasis here in Nyc! Bring your appetite and leave home the sunscreen lotion!!
there are avocados in Japanese Sushi, which is weird to me, because it makes the Sushi American. The place is neat but a little bit dark for me, and the potentially shop owner sounds a little bit cold. Sushi is decent and the sticky rice is good. Price is affordable, so overall will come again
