Just excellent. Got the chicken katsu bento box.. and what a wonderful variety plate. Came w salad, miso soup, crispy fried veggies, and crab rolls (although I would've preferred tuna or salmon roll). But the crispy chicken, the sauce, sticky rice, and everything was just delicious. I can't wait to keep trying more items on the menu (I've already started spreading the word at my office)

It’s worth to visit here, especially lunch time. Lunch special was reasonable price and had wide variety of sushi. But the prices on the web menu have increased a little bit, like by 2-3 dollars. I had Sushi Deluxe, here’s my photo. That was good. I’ll come back later!

This is a must place to consider to visits and enjoy the delicious food! It was so delicious and the chef will come and ask if we liked the food and we keep ordering because he was making everything fresh for us .

So tasty and affordable! The salmon avocado and eel avocado rolls are some of the largest (in size) I’ve ever eaten. The freshness of the fish is no joke (as someone who travelled to Japan very recently and ate a lot of sushi there). The only thing I wish is that the rice was a little softer, but at this price point I’m being picky. Totally recommend!!

Highly highly highly recommend the Crispy Rice Rolls. I have had that roll in almost every spot in the city, and nothing compares. Not only do they have a Salmon Crispy Rice Roll option, which is rare, but the tuna one is amazing too. The rice is warm, super crunchy, and browned to perfection, the rice is also packed in thick which is nice, most places serve a thin layer version. Crazy Tuna and the Manhattan are also solid picks.

Love this place! The sushi is always super fresh and delicious. My fiancé and I live in the neighborhood and Sushi star has been our fav sushi spot for almost 2 years now. The restaurant is run by a hardworking Indonesian family, who will greet you with a smile every single day of the week! I hope they do take time off sometimes though :) In the pics are our absolute favorites - mine is Salmon three way, and my fiancé’s sushi deluxe. Their crispy rice tuna is also one of the best I’ve tried anywhere! The restaurant is simple but cozy, you can always go with takeout as well. Big THANK YOU to Ivan and his wonderful family! A really decent sushi joint - close to Javits Center, that's great for lunch and serves decent uncomplicated rolls and sushi with perfect rice. I also like the fact that you get a pot of green tea as opposed to a cup with your lunch.

I had a great meal here alone this evening. I didn't feel rushed and everything was made with caring finesse and attention to detail. The restaurant itself is modest but the food was really amazing and that's my favorite combination. It was a nice place to eat, and read, and just trust that I was being taken care of. The prices were also completely fair and that's a great treat these days!

Simply excellent sushi and sashimi! Fresh fish, right amount and texture of rice. This is the first sushi place where I got warm eel, which was just grilled! The place where you can enjoy the pure taste of food, without being distracted by overly complicated decor. Definitely coming back.

I was looking for a great sushi place based on the Google review ratings and I was not disappointed. I got the Sashimi delux. Portion sizes were huge and the quality was great. Good price for the quality, especially considering the area. All the workers were really nice. Seated immediately around 6:45pm on a Thursday and food came out quickly. Highly recommend the salmon on the crispy rice, as the salmon serving was nice! Dragon roll was just okay, as I felt my tempura was too small. However, the generous serving of avacado made me feel better about it. 😅 plus side: it looks super cute! lol.

Came here today with my partner and this is hands down the best sushi I’ve eaten. Usually i find it hard to find places to eat sushi since i’ve got a shellfish allergy, but the restaurant was extremely accommodating and I had a great experience. We got the 2 people sushi platter, miso soup, and vegetable dumplings and it was fabulous. The atmosphere was nice and intimate as well, with chilled music. Really not a single thing to fault 😍

I brought in a heart shaped tray and asked the owners if they could fill it with one of their sushi platter specials for our Galentine’s Day party - and we were so incredibly impressed with the result! I went there by chance! After walking for 30 mins to reach a Thai restaurant which was rated high, I couldn’t order because most of their food is spicy . Went here for lunch and they had a pretty cozy spot in Hell’s Kitchen. Great for a quick bite to rush back to the office but I’d would recommend getting it to go since the amount of space isn’t a lot and can get crowded when the offices are back in full swing. They had my favorite Seared Salmon Belly, which in my opinion, could have been better but I’m not complaining since it’s the closest sushi place to work and they have the seared salmon. I also tried the firecracker roll which was absolutely amazing. The roll was fried with cream cheese and fish inside. Absolutely amazing. A must try.

Small eat in sushi place that also offers delivery. I got the firecracker roll, very good! We also got pork dumplings as an appetizer as well as rock shrimp tempura and avocado crispy rice. All were really good! Service was okay. They seemed to switch off depending who was available. Wish they came around with water more often or had bigger glasses so you didn't drink it in three sips.

We ordered online for a lunch pick-up via their website. It's not inexpensive but the tempura bento was fine and their chirashi and nigiri sushi better. They were about ten minutes late with the order. There is limited seating if you choose to eat in (I wouldn't). Service was very polite.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Their website is really well done and the food really is amazing, but their pricing is sometimes outrages and they really try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. I kind of respect that. For example, if you order form their website you can get free Miso soup, but you HAVE to order from their site to get that perk. They have also significantly shrank the size of their Poke bowls but continue to charge the same $$$ as when they started selling those delicious bowls! I get everything they are doing and Ive turned anyone who will listen to this place because at the end of the day they deliver on taste and that is what matters, right? The people who work here are also super nice. Pro tip: Order online, get free Miso.

We got a lot of sushi. It was fair. The fish was not as cool or firm as I am used to; it was really soft and room temperature. If that's how you like it, then you'll like it here. Service was very good, attentive and they kept my water filled up.

The food was delicious but the attitude of staff was not good, and they said they give free Miso soup for Bento box, but did not have vegetarian option, so I couldn’t have that.

The sushi rice. Not sure if they even put any rice wine vinegar at all? Doesn’t taste right and they didn’t make the nigiri correct either. Ginger didn’t taste correct either. Fish was of sufficient quality.

Ordered 3 platers on uber eat that cost 330+ dollars for my company team event, no plate/utensils or even soy sauce included. I am fine if this happened to my personal order, but the experience really put me on heat when ordering food for 2 teams.

Staff is slow. Waitress forgot half my order. Eel roll and salmon sashimi took 45 min to come out. Had to ask for check five times.

So many things wrong in this place. I called (12:41pm) and ordered ahead for pick-up. They said pick-up orders will take about 45 mins to an 1hr so I said okay. (1) already rude on the phone because I was asking questions (2) I left my house and got to the restaurant at 2pm (which would have given them 1hr 20mins), yet my order wasn’t ready, turns out no one wrote my order so no one’s sure what’s supposed to be in my bag (3) I ordered 2 miso soup and 2 shrimp tempura roll; I was given only one of each so I told them and they said “you only ordered 1, we can make them again” I wasn’t gonna wait for another 13 minutes that I was standing there. I got out of there at 2:15pm (4) I got home and got a call from them letting me know that they put cucumber on my shrimp tempura (when I ordered no cucumber in it) so they offered to make it again and deliver it to me lol (I had 10 minutes left in my break time before my next call) so I said no and asked for a refund (5) They told me they can’t give me a refund for the whole thing (after all of those inconvenience), only refund just for the shrimp tempura, so I said okay fair enough then I come to find out (6) there was a HAIR IN MY SOUP!!! My roommate liked his Sushi Deluxe Lunch but I personally just didn’t have a good experience for the first time. Maybe will try again in like never years.
