Really good food and service
Food was hot and fresh. Food was delicious and salsa was the best I’ve ever tasted. Cooks doing an amazing job. My waitress was amazing. Drove 80 miles to try the food and it was worth it.
Been here a couple of times, nice and quiet atmosphere. Food is pretty good for being TexMex style.
Stop by for a quick lunch today (1/6/2026). the place looked nice and was very clean. Very few people. My server was Wendy and she was very nice and easy on the eyes. She answered all my questions about the items in the menu. I am a picky eater, and I order the chicken flautas, they were very good. I will return another day after work to check the drinks at the Bar.
Good food and good service as well. And a good Topo Chico michelada drink serviced here
Such a good restaurant with GREAT food and super friendly staff! Found this gem on the way to my mother in laws! I Definitely recommend it if your looking for a spot to stop and eat!!!!
This was the best mexican food we have had in a while. If your in the area don't pass it up. Margaritas were awesome and the taco soup plate was very good. Warm salsa was delicious and or waitress was outstanding!
Great set up and bar area. Upbeat Mexican music made the atmosphere lively. Various TV’s playing different sports on mute allowed patrons to keep up with scores. Annabelle was courteous and consistent.
This review takes place during the pandemic. I love this place as all the waiters and staff are very careful regarding masks, social distancing and more. This makes the food, which is far above average, so much better. I can say going here, sitting on the patio outside with a drink, good food and with nice weather is a way to pretend that the pandemic isn't happening. 100% recommend. As an update... As of the beginning of 2022, it is still a good place. Some times they are under staffed and over worked so service is slow but overall still a good place.
I stopped at La Cabana Mexican Restaurant. I had a craving for Tacos being Taco Tuesday. I had the Tacos Al Pastor which is an order of 5 small marinated pork tacos topped off with chopped onions n pineapple and served with borracho beans n rice. Today is also National Margarita day so, a frozen Margarita por favor! It was all delicious. Highly recommend it! Go out today 2/22/22 and enjoy yourselves!😃🌮🍹🌮🤘

I'm giving this place 5 stars because it doesn't deserve to go down in rating. I had the tacos al pastor, asked for grilled onions throughout and their taquisa salsa which put a delicious fire in…

I brought my family to La Cabana because I already knew what to expect — great chips and salsa, solid Mexican food, and attentive service. It’s a dependable, family-friendly Mexican restaurant in Houston. Our server stayed on point, kept the drinks full, and checked on us consistently. The food came out hot and fresh, and I appreciate when plates stay hot throughout the meal — that always makes a difference. Everything was good and well-prepared, though the flavor didn’t quite have that wow factor that separates good from unforgettable. The background music fit the vibe and made the overall experience enjoyable. If you’re looking for hot, fresh Mexican food in Houston with strong service and a comfortable atmosphere, La Cabana is a reliable choice.
I ride past this restaurant quite a bit. Someday's it's really packed and today it wasn't, so I stopped in. I was skeptical once I entered. It had a old dirty mop odor mixed with incense. I ordered the classic magarita for my drink. Happy hour is from 3p-6p Monday through Friday. Therefore, I was right on time. The salsa was good which is a plus. They only give the red one which is fine. The Combination Fiesta was really good. Steak nachos, steak quesadillas, chicken flauntas, and toppings (sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, and tomatoes). Glad I visited and will be returning.
Tried this restaurant for the first time, and the environment is nice, and staff was very friendly. Score right away for warm chips & Salsa! We tried the margaritas and those were good too! Had the chicken and beef fajitas, along with their tortilla soup. Fajitas were pretty good and that soup's flavor was totally on point. I like all the veggies in it, but I just wished they weren't so overcooked. We'll be back, they have a great menu of things I'd like to try...
Nice little place with good food and service. Stopped by with a friend while in the area because the reviews are good. I was happy with the taste of the food and service. It was a bit warm inside though. On a summer day, a little cooler would’ve been nice. Anyway, the service was nice. Ordered a Parrillada for 1 and it was a nice amount of food for 2 folks. Oh and what I really loved was the salsa they serve with the chips! It’s was great. I love salsa and this one was delicious and spicy. Love spicy! Overall, definitely recommend this place. The prices are reasonable/moderate. Also, you can pay with your phone via a QR code.
I order queso with a meal and I got a freaking half a bag of chips. REALLY!!!!. This is BS!!! Really!!!
I've eaten here twice and really enjoyed the food. The service was impeccable each time as well. I'm a fan of Tex Mex and this place doesn't disappoint whatsoever. Give it a try.
The salsa was warm. The Chile Rellano wasn't good, the sauce was weird. The ribeye tacos were fine, there was no seasoning. The grilled steak and shrimp were grilled well but again, no seasoning. Maybe it's what Texas Mexican food is supposed to taste like. I'm from Arizona, I'm used to something different.
Food is okay for me, I can't say it's great cos I'm not really into Mexican food but thought I try. I ordered from their "Today's Specials." They don't have a alcoholic drinks list. Just photos of different kinds of cocktails without any prices. When asked why, they said it's just like that for most Mexican restaurants. I don't like to order food or drinks without knowing the prices so I had to keep asking how much is this and that. So that part sucks.
I order beef nachos and the quality was really bad. They had the black beans at the center so all the chips got soggy enough to not hold the beef or the avocado. Plus they used American cheese, i…

First time coming here for my mom’s birthday and it was not what I expected. I have tried so many mexican restaurants and it didn't taste right. It started of with the salsa chips not having any taste. The chips didn't have taste to it either. The plate I order was al pastor tacos and they were okay. They weren't something that I would come back for. The waitress had the laziest energy ever. She didn't come to check on us (the family) to see if we needed anything. Our order took longer to be ready and I only know this because the family that came after us (sitting in front of us) got their food sooner than us. How is that even possible? It was the same size of party. But anyway, the waitress wasn't the friendliest until the very end of course. I gave this place a try but honestly there's nothing for me to come back for. No taste on food and customer service was bad.
I figured I'd give it a try despite the reviews. \nThe service is good, the ambience is nice but....\nThis place is the definition of mediocre food. My enchiladas are some of the worst I've ever had …

Extra fee to use a credit card. The sign for the lunch specials said $13.99 and was charged $14.99. While the food was ok and the servers themselves seem kind, the fact that my bill came with a total that ended up different than what was charged on my card makes them untrustworthy. We had a table of 10 and the entire table had a the same experience with their bill. We were all so surprised by this.
