Ike's Kitchen Huntsville Reviews
I’ve never had African food before, but this place makes me want it again 🙂 The man working behind the counter greeted me energetically, asking me if I knew what I want. The okra (with chicken) soup, pounded yams, and coconut rice is what I ordered. Everything was great! The soup was bursting with flavor, and the yam grabbed it up nicely. The coconut rice was piping hot, soft, and absolutely delicious with a bite of sweet plantain 😌 I’m looking forward to trying more of Ike’s selection! Not only was the food good, but I was a dollar and some change short for the total of my meal, and he said it was all good 😊. The generous man who made my food with heart and care has my business anytime.
10/10! First time trying Nigerian Food. I got the Fufu and Egusi soup, and it was absolutely delicious! And very filling. Lasted me the whole next day and then some. Owner was the sweetest! And good portions. Definitely will go again when in the neighborhood.
Me and my friends ate there and had an absolute great time!!! 10/10 would go again while in the area!
Genuinely the most friendly place I’ve been too, I was super comfortable when I walked in and they were very nice people. The food is amazing, as soon as I got it the smell made my mouth water. 100% recommend
I had a lovely eat at ikes kitchen, it was my first time here. The swallow I ate with vegetables was second to none. Even though I'm on holiday here from UK, I really had a nice time at ikes kitchen. Long lives ikes kitchen
Best African Food I’ve Ever Had… I’m Telling Ya Ike Don’t Miss💙…I Could Eat The Fufu & Egusi Soup Everyday👌🏾With Goat Is My Fav…But This Beef With Chicken Is Soooo Good🥰 Came again on 12/23…. Came to conclusion if Ike not there to prepare your food , DONT ORDER!!! I knew I should have left but I really wanted some🤦🏾♀️The egusi had no seasonings at all… & the goat was super tough!! Highly disappointed this time☹️ Of course I went back 2/7… & Ike was there🥳it was everything I needed it to be, can’t lie. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Might just be my lunch today🧏🏾♀️
I always love eating at places that serve food that you cannot find just anywhere. The food here was hot and delicious. Ike was super friendly and helpful. I can't remember the dish name, but it had rice, plantains, spinach and chicken. My wife got fish, coconut rice and plantains. Both were very good!
I tried African food for the first time and I didn't expect to love it. The food was flavourful but not to the point where you can't try the plantain or other food. I would recommend it again not only for the flavor but also for the service. They were really nice and help me choose something to eat for a starter.
I loved everything about this restaurant it's was a great experience for my husband and I for starters we were greeted walking in the door the customer service was fast and very friendly and the food the food amazing 😋😋😋 It was so good I had to reorder some more food to go because we live in Decatur and don't go to Huntsville very often we will definitely go back and I will highly recommend Ike's Kitchen
Always greeted with a smile. The food is very authentic and very flavorful with plenty of options even for vegans. The only drawback is the goat. It's freezer burned which makes it tough (I'm assuming it's imported), but still surprisingly tasty. Give Ike's a try ( pronounced "eye keys"), a homeland cuisine that's different from the norm. I will always continue to patronize!
The flavors were truly enjoyable, and I have no complaints in that regard. The portion of jollof rice was generous and delicious, which I appreciated. The plantains were decent, but I believe they could be improved for a better overall experience. However, I found the chicken portion to be quite disappointing—a single drumstick that felt more fitting for a Cornish hen. In my experiences dining at various Nigerian restaurants, I’ve typically received more substantial portions of chicken. For nearly $16, I would have expected at least two pieces or a larger piece to complement the meal. As for the service, it was satisfactory.
The flavor was definitely there but the beef in my egusi was over microwaved and there was no soup the wings had no sauce and were over fried 😭 i was super excited to try this place and was deeply disappointed spending $50 and definitely not getting my moneys worth
The portions are so small not worth the money. I got egusi soup and meat pie paid 22$ for a spoonful of soup that I don’t even think was egusi because it only had chicken in it. And a meat pie that was bite size. What a rip off never again. Save your money. I could of at least got a fulfilling meal for McDonald’s for half the price
This is not authentic African food AT ALL !! The food doesn’t look anything how it’s supposed too. The egusi soup is not good and for this place to be so expensive the meat portions are not up to par & we are also being served our food in Tupperware if you’re dining in . Waste of money and time coming to this place . I go to Madison, Tn for true AUTHENTIC African food.
The jollof rice was tasteless. The beef was tough. There were no oxtails available. I spent 5 minutes saying “hello” “help” and tapping on the counter to get service. No one was anywhere near the front counter. Disappointed. This was during lunch time.
I was so excited to try this place especially with all the great reviews but wow what a disappointment. I ordered 2 egusi soups with fufu which was $29 and a huge rip off. I got not even big spoon full of soup in a take out container with mostly shredded chicken and broth. No flavor 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 will not be back. This picture was taken before I touched it
