Pretty great state beach: clean, not crowded, parking was affordable, bathroom was clean, water dispenser was working and water was pretty good for tap. My only wish would be that the vendor vestibules were open so I could have had a drink while I watched the sunset.

This is a great spot to have a panoramic view from Tijuana all the way to Point Loma. Great place to have a beach picnic.

Lovely beach with great parking spots and incredible views up and down the coast. Another one of the magical California places.

The beach is generally very clean. Toilets, shower areas and landscaping are in good condition. It has a safe atmosphere for those who want to come with the family, and a calm atmosphere for those who come alone. Sunset hours are especially impressive; beautiful frames can be captured for those who want to take photos.

Such a beautiful, calm and quiet beach. It was nice, sunny morning. I even got one sand dollar and few top shells. Great experience.

We love this beach! 🏖️ It’s super family-friendly, with plenty of space to play, build sandcastles, and soak up the sun without feeling crowded. The kids can run wild, the adults can relax, and everyone leaves with sandy toes and happy hearts. The only catch? Shopping is basically a myth here. Forgot sunscreen? Snacks? A cute beach hat? Better luck next time—you’ll either have to plan ahead or improvise. But honestly, the trade-off is worth it. Peace, sun, and waves over crowds and shopping any day! 🌊😂

Excellent! We went on a Saturday morning and there were very few people. The beach is nice and natural, no commercial raking to make everything too pretty like tourist spots. Highly recommend.

I've wanted to come here forever and finally got the chance on the way back home, off the hook, easy bike to restaurants and groceries, love this place! Staff and volunteers are very helpful and friendly!!

Excellent place to play and stay with an RV. Very secure and safe. Rangers are accommodating and the place is clean.

We had an awesome time camping in our RV. We were warmly greeted by Melissa (staff), who was super nice and she got us checked in and she gave us a campground map and rules. Anthony(staff), was very helpful & friendly. He helped us find our RV spot. Anthony was walking by our campsite and noticed I was having trouble getting my RV plugged up and he showed me how to do it properly. The campground was very organized and well run and all the staff were efficient & pleasant. The overall campground had a great atmosphere and in the later evening it was nice & quiet. The other campers were friendly. The kids were well behaved and dogs too. We had fun talking and interacting with the other campers and we petted quite a few dogs. We met a lot of nice people. It was a great place to relax. We didn't think about anything except taking it easy. Tip: use the Mobile dump service guy to make it easy.

What a lovely park, right on the sand! We stayed a week. Full hookups, (no sewer, but a nice man is available to empty tanks for a fee and there is a dump station) and great sunsets. Note: no getting in the water due to contamination from Mexico. Go further north if you want to get in.

Beautiful smooth beach and not a bad crowd during the day on August 1, 2004. Warm water, found some seashells and sand dollars. Good bathroom and outdoor showers with lots of parking. $12 day pass to park at this wonderful state park just a few miles south of the gorgeous Hotel Del Coronado. Definitely check it out if you’re looking for a peaceful and beautiful beach!

Great place with lots of parking. It's so cool to see all the muscles in the sand. Reasonably priced admission and the beach is huge. While we were there, someone was stung by a stingray. There are lots of signs warning about sting rays, so just be careful.

Very nice place to enjoy walking on the beach. Lots of room to spread out and breathe the fresh air. Fun to see all the surfers trying to catch a big wave. The public restrooms were very clean and well maintained. It was worth the $10 entry fee.

Amazing place to visit and enjoy. For a while, I thought I've seen most of the places in San Diego, but the surprises are immense. Silver Strand Beach really has the variety of the ocean and the bay with couple of steps apart. You can enjoy surfing on one side where there are a lot of waves, and enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and other activities on the other side where the water is shallower. On top of that, the views there are just amazing!

Great view, the waves were pretty rough. More like surfing type, nice place to have a beach picnic. They were hardly people there when I went (on a Sunday), so you have the beach for yourself. Parking is in abundance however like $8 for the entire day on a Sunday. It was great experience except for the weather which was alittle cold. The summer months should even be better.

Super fun location with the ocean on one side and the bay on the other. So much sand and great sunsets. I found sand dollars just south of the campground. The campground is just a concrete parking lot with electric and water hook ups. A sewer truck comes around for a fee to empty your tanks. Otherwise there's dump station on site for $10. I loved the bike trails just east of the campground that run from Coronado south to Imperial Beach. Hosts were friendly and check in a breeze. The only bummer was the polluted ocean and no water allowed water contact that happens often i read.

It isnt much more than a concrete parking lot. But you are right on the beach. Easy to get in and out of the area, bike paths all the way into town. Unfortunately, we were next to someone that looked like they were staying a while with an old couch outside their rig....thought there were rules about it 🤷🏼 Restrooms were clean.

Sand is everywhere, but that's what you want on a beach. RV Park crowded one against another, shoulder close, but the premium spots back up to the beach. Really nice views.

Great location beach was empty around 12. Plenty of parking but it 15 bucks for parking. Lots of stingrays

First time visiting. I’ve lived in California 4years now and I’ve never been!! I’m so delighted that I made the long trip here. Such a marvelous sight to see. It costs $12-$15 for parking though. The beach is beautiful, clean and sunset is magnificent! I highly recommend and I’ll definitely return.

No swimming due to Tijuana waste contamination, but you can walk the beach. The bay is open for swimming, so we were able to walk through the tunnel and let the kids swim still. Overall clean and well maintained, but very tight spaces in RV spots. If the spaces were bigger or the beach was open to swim I would have given more stars, but the beach was pretty empty when we went so overall it was ok.

One tiny sign throughout the whole beach stating it was hazardous to go in the water due to sewage and chemical waste! We didn’t see the sign until we were leaving. Thankfully we didn’t swim as it was too cold, but we did walk through the water. The beach is beautiful, but why is this beach even open at all? Disgusting!
