This is the kind of place we look for on our motorcycles!! The food was fantastic and in a typical country cafe where everyone knew everyone and all very friendly. Highly recommend! I had the Chuck Wagon breakfast…it is a lot of food! And my husband had the chicken fried steak sandwich!!

We had breakfast here three days in a row on a recent vacation. I like my eggs over medium they were perfectly cooked all three days. If you like over medium you know how hard it is to get them cooked properly in a restaraunt. It was always a full house but the food came out quite fast, so don't let the full parking lot deter you. Ask for Debbie she was great. We can be a little difficult with our on the side pleases and she was patient and our order was always correct. Can't wait to go back.

This place is the best, I took my Dad when he was doing chemo in Kerrville. He absolutely loved the pancakes and YES, HE ATE THIS ALL. 🥰 I he has since passed but this had been a favorite for him and I hope I can make time to go back in his memory!!

My wife and I went here on Mother's Day, and were immediately seated. We were able to split a delicious "Double-barrelled Omelette" with hash browns, toast and coffee with the total bill including tip coming to $20. It seemed fairly busy but our waitress was very attentive. A bit of a drive for us, but this will likely move up on our dine-out for breakfast list.

Not too far of a detour from I-10 and more than worth the effort! We had the breakfast version of chicken fried steak w2 eggs, hash browns, toast and drink. The food was excellent and the service was great. Highly recommend and will be back.

Stopped in with my oldest son on Friday night when were at our vacation home for the night. I had planned on getting a burger (which are amazing here) but have had them twice over the last few weeks so instead we both ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. This was one of their nightly specials so came with soup or salad, choice of baked or mashed potatoes, vegetables, and dessert. Special price was the same price as on the menu but came with dessert. Soup was a chicken tortilla which my son had. It was cream soup, not clear which is typical for tortilla soup it was very tasty. Steak was great! The breading was light and perfectly fried. I don't eat a lot of fried food but these guys really know how to fry! We both had mashed potatoes since there was gravy involved and the gravy was very flavorful. A perfect complement to the steak and potatoes. Vegetable for the day was grilled asparagus. My son got the last order they had of asparagus so I got fried eggplant. I was perfectly OK with that since we'd ordered it last week and loved it... That brings us to dessert. We both ordered the blackberry cobbler ala mode. Yummy! We had to get one of those to go for my wife.

Don't miss this little gem for a great breakfast and good coffee! Staff are really friendly and accommodating. My hubs and I had breakfast here 3 days in a row while staying in the area. The food was plentiful and tasty.

What an unexpectedly delightful treat! A friend and I ate breakfast here for the first time. The Cafe atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. We arrived at around 9:30am and my first impression was the stack of coffee cups that showed the priorities of the place. I loved it! We seated ourselves at a window table overlooking a clean, small swimming pool. Our server greeted us promptly for our drink order. The coffee was delicious and served with milk from a small metal pitcher. I loved it! The menu had a wide variety of delicious-looking foods. I ordered the Denver omelet with hashbrowns, biscuit and a side of gravy. The server asked if I wanted a half or whole omelet. She recommended the half and I went with that and a good thing I did! When she brought our food, the half omelet took up over half the large plate! It was filled with ham chunks and crunchy pieces of fresh peppers and onions. I loved it! The hashbrowns were cooked to a crispy perfection, and the biscuit and homestyle cream gravy were equally delicious. I highly recommend this eatery to anyone who enjoys hot, homestyle cooking, especially breakfast. I am determined to come again to savor the other tempting items on their menu. And the price is right, too!❤❤❤

I was just here for breakfast/lunch today. Always love coming here. My mom had scrambled eggs, sausage patties that looked homemade, biscuits and fruit. The scrambled eggs looked fresh and my mom said they tasted fresh. When I got up to pay, you pay at counter, I noticed some freshly baked pies. I could smell that crust. YUMMY! I was told that these were $12.95. so, if you're headed out Ingram way, stop in and enjoy a fresh meal and a downhome atmosphere!

My husband and I ate breakfast here while we were on vacation in Kerrville, TX. I ordered a breakfast plate with eggs, sausage, and pancakes. The food was fresh and delicious. In addition, the waitress was friendly and efficient. If we return to this area, we will definitely return to the Hunters House Cafe 😊

This is a small restaurant/motel in Ingram; it has about 13 or 14 tables/booths. Service is fast and friendly. They serve breakfast all day. The wait for our food seemed a bit long, but when it arrived the reason was clear. It was hot and obviously made to order; even the biscuit, which was warm and excellent. My chorizo omelet was stuffed; the hash browns were crispy and not at all greasy. My husband had the Hunter House medium breakfast: 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 3 pieces of bacon. It was a lot of food; he was glad he didn't get the large breakfast. I can't believe I've lived in Kerrville 15 years without trying this place; it's now our go-to place for breakfast when we're on the west side of town.

This is a nice little small town diner. I got the french toast with a coffee and side of bacon. The french toast was absolutely amazing. The bacon was cooked exactly perfect. The coffee was hot but not hot enough to burn my tastebuds. The waitress was so very friendly and it was a nice experience.

Asked for a recommendation on the French Toast and it was delicious! Went with the sweet and savory combination. The breakfast taco would have been enough for a meal. Great place along the Southern Tier bicycle route!

We stopped at this place because the reviews were good. If I hadn't read the reviews and went curb appeal, we would not have stopped here. But I'm glad we did. The breakfast was good and the service and customers were so friendly. They made us feel like family. We even got to talk to the judge who was having breakfast there. He was so friendly. It was great hanging out with the employees and customers. This made the atmosphere great! They can do some updating.

Much needed home cooking food and home made tortillas. Surprisingly delicious. Red salsa was top notch! Thank you Ingram, Texas. Kerrville step it up! lol

It's right on the main street and easy to find. They were out of chili for regular enchiladas so we had jalapeño chicken. No we did not settle as they were fantastic. Great flavor in each item on our plates. We were delightfully surprised to find our choice of dessert came with the meal. All made fresh that day. I know you will be glad you stopped in as much as much as we were. Enjoy $$$

My wife and I drove to Kerrville from San Antonio for a quick appointment. We were looking for a place to eat and came across HHC on the map, so we decided to pay a visit. The Nachos Supreme and the Chorizo Omelette we so very good. The steak on the nachos was so tender and definitely tasted like home. What a find! Highly recommend!

Small diner with comfort food. Some of the best food I have tried. I have gone for breakfast and lunch, so far everything I have tried has been just delicious. The servers are so sweet and accomodating. Breakfast for 2 with coffee was very reasonable, paid $40 and that was with tip, huge portions as well.

My wife and I decided to go the Arts and Crafts fair down the street but wanted brunch. We spotted the Hunter House Cafe and quickly checked the reviews. Very positive reviews, but from the outside it seems to be a small cafe for the hotel it's in front of. Don't let the location or small Cafe looks fool you. These folks know how to make good food, and the service is super friendly and very quick. I had their all meats omelet and my wife had the eggs and bacon breakfast. We both had one of their great biscuits. Prices were great too. If you're ever in their neighborhood to check out Stonehenge 2 or something else, do yourself a favor and grab a meal there. I only gave four stars because it is reasonably small, but frankly that's all I can pick on.

Large group dining in for lunch on Memorial Day. Place was slammed, but I have never seen a more hard-working crew! Smiles all around, coffee refills on the spot. Best service! Please update those tired pictures on the walls: tacky, faded, kitsch.

If looking for CFS, suggest the CFC instead. Bigger portion, tender and juicy. Locals were all over the meat loaf special so will try that next time. Breakfast is the deal here but a good for lunch also. Nothing fancy with very friendly service.

My wife and I were in town for a week long getaway. I love to get out and mingle, and discover new faces, and nice people. We searched online for a restaurant which provided good breakfast, within a nice country atmosphere, and we were led here. The staff, as well as the customers, were all very hospitable and kind. The food here was absolutely amazing. The wife and I felt comfortable, and even enjoyed everyone’s enthusiasm and questions about our Tesla. A note to the owners. When a man is enjoying himself with his wife, it is not wise for an employee that smells like 120 proof alcohol to sit down next to her, and then put his arm around her. Imagine please, our negative thoughts on this, especially being ministers of God. Not professional at all to even hear him say, “when I get home I look forward to consuming even more.” Such things as this would be frowned upon by any visiting customer. Yet, we still came back the next day because of all the beautiful smiles we received. God bless your restaurant.

Small town, diner style eats. Service was great; we were treated like locals. Atmosphere was quaint and comfy, with local history all over the walls. Seating was tight, but friendly. They were full on a Sunday morning, but we never felt neglected, with service and kitchen keeping pace. Adults had omelets (no cheese) and pancakes with hash browns. Omelet was cooked well, filled with just the right amount of veggies and ham. Browns were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Pancakes were good. Not the best I've had, but definitely in the good category. The added biscuit was saved for later. We were so full! Kids had French toast with eggs on the side. 4 triangles of Texas toast, dusted with copious amounts of powdered sugar kept them happy and satisfied. I have to admit, they were pretty tasty, even with the sugar blast. We will make this our Sunday breakfast routine when visiting Ingram for sure!

The staff / waitresses were friendly and helpful. The food was okay, but could have been better. The veggies in my omelet weren't sauteed long enough, too crunchy and the cheese on top was sliced not grated. The entrance felt crowded.

Service was attentive, but food was mediocre at best. Thousand island dressing for salad had too much pickle in it. BBQ brisket was basically a roast, and had a weird aftertaste to it. Chicken fried steak was mostly breading. Food was expensive for what we got. Would not recommend.

B
Brett Crain

Waited for our food for at least a half hour and watched people that showed up after us get served their food first. Very frustrating experience. Food was okay. We visited about a year ago and the same thing happened then too except we ended up leaving after waiting for about 45 minutes and never received our food. We thought we would give them a second chance but that will be the last time. Will definitely not return for a third time.

Chicken fried steak is chewy without seasoning, vegetables over steamed, no taste or spice on half the food. Literally tried almost everything here and it is like it’s designed on a budget and cooks are scared to add spices to anything.
