The Ole Barn Inlet Reviews
We stopped in early in the day (before lunch) and the bartender could not be nicer. She made us a nice snack and talked with us like we were regulars. The décor was fun and I would love to come back if they have live entertainment. I took a few photos and took back some nice memories
They warned us when we came in that service might be slow due to a death in the family leading to being short three people. We didn't notice any problems. Decoration was quaint and a hair tacky, but the food was amazing. We got the sole stuffed with scallops and crab on a bed of rice pilaf. It was rich and buttery while light and flaky! Some of the best fish I've tasted in years! Service was exceptional! Between the food and service we decided to leave a 25% tip we were so happy.
Delicious food, great service and a cool looking place. I could imagine the place packed with people and a live band playing....

Awsome place
Brought back memories
We went there for Thanksgiving dinner absolutely the best turkey dinner I’ve ever had out . Everything was delicious. Service was outstanding, would highly recommend .
Great food and atmosphere. The place has a lot of history, been open for 52 years. The Owner waited on us and she was awesome!!
We were exploring central Adirondacks and we stumbled upon this place. The food was excellent and you can tell this place is loved by the locals. It was a really nice experience.
We bring a large group here every year for Saturday night dinner. The food and service was better than ever!
The hamburgers are very good, pretty big, I could not Finnish mine but they are expensive,12.99 ,other then the cost ,no complaints.
The food is always delicious & the employees are funny & very efficient. If this restaurant was in the middle of a town you would have to wait in line to get in and the prices are reasonable.
Had some lunch and drinks at the bar. Everything was great!
Great food, great service. Thank you Brittany for the great service. Friday, fish fry was awesome, Sat prime rib, yummy.
As a local restaurant owner, they were very hospitable. It's nice to compare notes so ALL of us can Thrive!
I loved this place If I ever get married again I will have my wedding reception there
The ole barn is always great. Meals are great and just love it there. Thanks to the staff and kathy.
Such a classic ADK place to eat. Great service and food. Looking forward to another visit.
This is the BEST restaurant in the area. Service and food are always amazing.
Never disappointed with a meal here.
Friendly, family, old style restaurant. Good food, good prices and good service.
Very much enjoyed my days there over the snowmobile season 2013-14
Always a good time!
Great place to stop by for a drink and food..very pleasant as always
Amazing place. Owners are super hospitable.
We always make the annual pilgrimage to the ole barn when camping at Limekiln Lake, it's a tradition that will never be broken! Thank you for all the years of great service! Oh, and please...pretty please....bring the fried frog legs back. 8/2019 Update: Lori was an amazing waiter (now 8 years in a row) with patience of steel for my slow neuronal processing power to make a decision. The place is up for sale and I really hope it stays a restaurant and retains its character and wait staff if ever sold. Fried frog legs are still off the menu (4th year now). I still retain hope the owners will read this and bring them back (at least for the months July-Aug during which we visit :) 8/2018 Update: Another year, another amazing visit to the old barn. No, this is not a Michelin-rated food experience; it's a friendly place to get some grub in the middle of nowhere. People complaining about prices, no Wi-Fi, or lack of cell service are out of their mind - you are basically in the wilderness...enjoy the piece and solitude.
Sitting home on lock down, traveling via google and you tube. Read a review, right before mine, that person must be working for another place. Was here three years ago,by self, EXCELLENT everything. Was there years ago with sons who were then little. Staff was beyond great.Food was so good, one of the fussy eaters devoured the hot beef dinner. Not at home. The server entertained the boys with stories, with one about that giant bear at Limekiln, where we were camping. Just do not change a thing, inside ,outside, food, nothing. You do it right top to bottom.
Stopped here in October 2003 before taking a seaplane ride just down the road at Paynes. Pigged out on fried clams. Excellent! Cool trainsets. Hat-paneled ceiling. Nice, attentive staff.
Reservations accepted, excellent place for large family group. Friday Fish fry is delicious. Salads are generous and included with meal. Can get baked potato instead of fries. Friendly family staff. Prices comparable to other local restaurants.
Very unassuming place but a lovely time! There were power outage issues that made their card machine not working and they were very upfront about that. The decor is so fun, and we enjoyed watching so many hummingbirds in the garden! Good food,.good experience. (4 star on food bc it's not the best ever or super amazing, but it's still really good!)
We got 2 cheeseburgers and Ff, side onion rings , served hot and crispy. The bartender brewed me a fresh pot of coffee and their whole family was chipping in and serving guests without wait. Says 56 years on the sign out front, that’s very commendable in the middle of the ADK
This restaurant is off of the beaten path of Old Forge. I came upon it by accident and what a great surprise. The local restaurants on the main road were packed and reservations only. At least for any restaurants that weren't serving just tavern food. This place is huge. It could hold up to 400 people. One of the charms of this place for me was the outside decor. While waiting for dinner I watched hummingbirds chase each other around the multiple feeders, flowers and unique landscape. Inside was packed with loads of memorabilia. The food was delicious. I can't tell you what I enjoyed more the pleasant staff and unique atmosphere or the food. The whole experience was outstanding. Great family restaurant or for large groups. Prices are relatively low, much cheaper than most.
This is a wondeful family run business with great service ans delicious food. They have a great menu that is very reasonably priced. We loved our apps and dinner. We went back the next night with a party of 18 and the food and service was still exceptional. Leave room for dessert they are unbelievable. We will be back everytime we are in the area. We told our friends that live in Inlet and they we thrilled to hear about the Ole Barn.
Best meal in the ADK. Great family. Always a good time and meal. Love Kathy and Ron They always make us feel like family.
We eat there when we get a chance. One of the best places to eat if you like home cooked meals and comfort foods like meatloaf, liver, onions and bacon, lasagna, their spaghetti sauce is outstanding. Their ribs and other dishes are great. The seafood dishes are always cooked to perfection. An Excellent selection for any taste. So be sure and check them out.
A family tradition in our house, my sons are grown but still want to eat there. The food is excellent and the place is so homey! If you want 5 star meals this isn't your place, but they serve wonderful comfort food. Get a table by the windows so the kids can look outside. Support your local restaurants!
This was our first time back in a few years and it was wonderful! The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. The atmosphere is great and the staff are so friendly. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Inlet.

Great place to stop on the snowmobile trail, did get a bit pricey
I great place by snowmobile. Great burgers .
We loved it!
Loved this place back in my snowmobile days! Good food, drink, and people.
Good food and service. Plenty of seating.
It looks like it was once a hopping place. It is now for sale. Worth a look at the memorabilia including Tony Stewart car parts! Only had a cocktail. No vegan options for food.
Friendly Fast Service. Beautiful Gardens to Walk Through and Watching the Birds and Critters While Eating. So Many Times this Place is Open While Others are not. Holiday Meals also!!!
Great old time sled/racing/sports bar with a huge restaurant capacity. The Murdock family has been doing it for over 50 years. Was disheartened to see only 1/3 of the restaurant in use on a rainy Saturday night. Food was good. Portions good sized without being too much to eat.
If you are looking for some down home comfort food this is the place. They also have a cute water feature outside and a water fountain wall. Super cute place.

I liked the Humming birds that you can watch during dinner
Awesome building and decor.
My grands like it there.
Food tasted great, although I found the portions kind of small. Also a little pricey for what you get. Most places include a side salad with dinner entrees, not this place. It's an extra $3.
Food was just okay, service was just okay. I think this place is well past it's prime or maybe it is just a wintertime hangout - we visited in the summer. Won't be back.
Funky place but I wish they have batter Food
Went with the family at 5:30 on a Saturday. There was maybe 3 couples in the whole place. Saturday special was open faced prime rib sandwich. Only one was available, they were out of the special. Everyone received their food except one person, who didn't get his until we were all done eating. Apologies, but no discounts. Waitress was not around much. Can't imagine how it would have been if it had been busy. 2 people, shrimp basket, lasagna and a couple of drinks = $78.00 with 18% gratuity included. Very disappointing!
The food and service was good, but they imposed a 20% gratuity for just 5 people. I usually leave 20% anyway but it seemed to be done in a sneaky way since they didn't bring the itemized receipt back with the credit card receipt. And then on top of that they charged a 4% credit card fee, which wasn't posted any where or even mentioned when I gave the waitress the credit card. My family won't be going back.

terrible..wifi is private
I know this place is for sale, but it's really more of a bar than a restaurant. We went and we missed the kitchen by 5 minutes - who knew a kitchen would close at 4 pm? It was a disappointing trip and they did nothing to accommodate two hungry snowmobilers.
Stopped in here this past winter for the first time ever. Beer was kinda high. The bartender wouldn't give any of us the wifi password. I mean , come on really ? You're out basically in the middle of nowhere and you won't let people communicate with loved ones back home. Was really turned off by the place.

Food sucks
In my opinion the prices are just a little too high, I have been going there for years love the atmosphere great people but I think they're overcharging
The food and drinks are over priced for the quality. Our server was alright when she came around.
There is no cell service, and they will not let you use there Wi-Fi.
Got charged a 94 cent convenience fee for sharing a sandwich
Went here for lunch while at Sno Deo. A cheeseburger was 13.29 and they charged an additional 50 cents each for lettuce tomato and onion making this a 14.00 cheeseburger. We get our burgers and they are clearly frozen patties that have been grilled. Tasted awful. We also could not get separate checks for our table and they charged an outrageous $3 plus as a convince fee for using our card. We will never be back.
went to dinner with my family one night. Our servers name was Brittney and she was actually not very nice. The food was absolutely horrible. I wouldn’t never recommend this place to anyone. Also the WiFi is private and there’s no cell service! Just the worst place to go!! Never again!
This place sucks. $2.50 for a solo cup of flat RC cola. No free refills. Chili was served cold, pulled pork sandwich had terrible flavor. The bill for 4 people was $88 for prison grade food. Don't waste your time here. I forgot to mention strobe lights above our heads almost caused me to seizure. I wish I could give less than 1 star.
Do not recommend was not impressed in any way. Looked good on google, had some good reviews and we were looking for an affordable family restaurant. It was myself, my other and our 5 kids. I was really excited at first...the place is cool and unique. It's a really strange atmosphere but that's what I like. So first thing you see at the register when waiting to be seated is that there is an upcharge to using a card, I was paying cash anyways...I got over that..not that big of a deal but still not a great buisness tactic. We were seated and offered menus quickly. The selection was mediocre and prices were above average. Everyone but myself ordered soda, I only drink water. The waitress was an older lady who was very nice and friendly but took awhile to get our drink and diner orders. The other and myself ordered burgers but didn't get any addition toppings because they charge extra for lettuce and onions. Pretty sad! They do not have bacon at all at their restaurant so don't expect a bacon cheese burger. Kids got shrimp and chicken strip baskets. While waiting awhile for the food, one of the kids spilled their drink....could not find any help to clean it up, waitress was no where to be found. We cleaned it ourselves. Was taking a good bit to get our diners and everyone drank all their drinks while waiting. Recieved our food. Burgers were gross , almost no flavor, obviously very over processed frozen meat with alot of filler. Everyone complained about the fries being oily tasting and under cooked. The shrimp were no bigger than a tic tac with a ton of breading. One kid ordered the Ziti special ...which was very good. On the overall the food was very subpar for the price, Ive had better meals at Burger King. While eating our meals we still needed drink refills from waiting, and being spilled, and napkins from the clean up. No waitress to be found. We had to go up to the waitress station and help ourselves. Had to track down the bartender to get refills. Had to ask three time for additional dipping sauce took over 10mins to get the dip. Then the worse of it.....the bill. We were so distracted by the high prices we never read the fine print at bottom of the menu. The refills were not free so there was $23 dollars in soda alone. Then to add insult, there was a mandatory 20% gratuity charge . They got a $27 tip for the absolutely worse service I've seen in a long time. Say none the less we will never return. We left with the horrible feeling like we were just highway robbed and taken advantage of.. Everything in the place is a money grab with subpar food and service service.
The service and food were horrible. Had prime rib, no flavor and very tough. Took a half an hour to get refills on drinks, and the place wasn't even busy. When we informed the waitress the food was not tasting well, the owner came and slammed my wife and my plates together and took away. Then the owner swore at my wife and said no one has told her the food was no good. Very bad experience, never go again.
