We had our Thanksgiving meal here. Everything was delicious. Didn’t get a picture of the scallops but they were amazing. Everything was hot and the service was pretty good even though they were short staffed. They have an extensive menu with many selections. The parking garage was full on 2 levels. Weekends tend to be really busy here.
The food was spectacular 😋. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet dinner with an elegant atmosphere from the room decor. We were greeted and seated right away. Our first serving of greentea was pleasing for the dinner time service. The pork dumplings were filling and ended the night with taro sago( tapioca pudding) . Can't wait to visit again. 😍
Everything we ordered was delicious and worth it. The portions were big - we all had leftovers to take home with us. The staff was polite and super friendly. They gave us a pot of hot tea with our meal which was absolutely perfect because it was getting a little chilly outside. I will definitely be coming back whenever I’m in the area again!
I came into this place a half hour before closing expecting bad service the service was impeccable. I did not realize this is a family buffet place so the prices are twice what you expect but so are the portions I had their shrimp duck fried rice which was soul satisfying and I had the dim sum platter which was way more than one person can eat overall really good place.
The dim sum platter was good got to try a little of everything would order 2 platters of to really enjoy .... they serve a different menu at dinner than lunch ... got a complimentary dish of shrimp it was ok the sauce made it taste better but I don't like peeling ..... the service is great they really check up on u .... nice place looks fancy
Was recommended this place for dim sum by a foodie. It has changed due to COVID. They are doing it menu based rather than the traditional cart service. It actually made it more time effective and easier to get all the varieties you want but does take a little away from the tradition. Food was amazing and I will definitely come back when they have their carts again.
Great Chinese Restaurant with super friendly staff. You get plenty of food here with your order, and you can’t go wrong with the price. Our waiter answered all our questions thoroughly :) The Steak, Egg Rolls, and Tofu were amazing! Sadly the vegetable fried rice was a bit on the bland side. It didn’t have much flavor. I would definitely come back though and order more food and margaritas 😊
Hi guys! I woke up with the family and wanted to try Chinese cuisine, and we found this place called Capital Seafood Restaurant. It looked very classy, and we were amazed by both the food and service. Surprisingly, the customer service was great, and the prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend this place if you ever pass through Irvine, California.
We’ve been going to Capital Seafood for MANY MANY YEARS now and just realized I haven’t made any reviews yet! Well, here it goes… we so love this place! We always go during dimsum hours and we love their dimsum choices! The foods are all amazing and first class!!! The service is even better! Our drinks are constantly filled and they always check if there’s anything else we need. Their manager will also go around and help serve! Eventhough we live an hr away from Irvine now, we still make sure we go to this place at least once a month! Excellent food and VIP service!
The food was decent. Not the best quality, but by no means bad. Capital Seafood offers a wide variety of food for affordable prices. The atmosphere is great and the tea is amazing. For the lack of stupendous food quality (the food is still decent) Capital Seafood makes up for with some of the quickest and efficient service I've seen. A great restaurant with decent food and stupendous service. (Besides, I'm picky with Chinese food)
My family brought me here to celebrate my birthday. I am not from the area so this was my 1st time here. It didn't disappoint! It was both cozy - and classy. The staff were courteous and welcoming. Food was superb! One of the best Chinese restaurants I have eaten at / in. Would definitely go back here when I am back in the area.
EXCELLENT experience. Food was so great and fresh. Bar tender was out so our server made a good solid effort to make our drinks, they were so so but they didn’t charge us which was super nice and fair, will be back again.
We came hungry and left so satisfied! Capital Seafood in Irvine is a gem when you’re craving solid Cantonese-style dishes in a more modern setting. We started with the calamari- crispy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The seafood fried rice was loaded and super flavorful, not greasy at all. The honey walnut shrimp was everything I hoped for. The shrimps were huge!Creamy, crispy, and just the right balance of sweet and savory. But the standout? The crispy roasted duck. Moist meat, golden skin - absolute heaven in every bite. And to top it all off, they surprised us with a sweet treat at the end of our meal, which was such a kind touch. Service was efficient and friendly, and the vibes were great for a casual but satisfying dinner.
Moderately priced with tasty dishes. Food came out quick and service was stellar. Make sure to ask for iced water if you want because it's non traditional in Chinese culture so they don't give it out automatically
The food is worth the wait. It is authentic IndoChinese-Chinese dimsum, traditional OG ancient family secret recipes delicious to the secondpower! The service is excellent, the only problem is that they are overwhelmed with online orders which I thought is great for business. But I was wrong. Long story short, food delivery service companies take about 30% so they are not making money on the online orders to hire more prople. And there's the problem. I do wish them prosperity and wealth. Great people, great food. Good times. Enjoy.
If your company is searching for an exceptional Asian-themed team lunch option in the Orange County area, Capital Dim Sum Seafood Restaurant at the Irvine Spectrum is a standout choice, both for flavor and value. Our team recently catered a Thanksgiving-week lunch from this restaurant, and the experience exceeded expectations in every way. Even after pickup and delivery to our company’s main conference room, the food arrived fresh, fragrant, and beautifully prepared. Team members enjoyed a wide range of entrées, including Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice, Honey Walnut Shrimp, Hong Kong, Style Seafood Chow Mein, Beef Dry Chow Fun, and Thai Style Chicken, each dish offering generous portions, vibrant flavors, and consistent quality. What truly elevated the meal was the shared dim sum selection, a perfect fit for team-building settings. Favorites like Fried Shrimp Wontons, Pork & Shrimp Shiu Mai, Har Gow, Pork Buns, Fried Shrimp & Chives, and the indulgent baked and BBQ pork buns delivered the authentic, shareable experience dim sum is known for. With a budget of $20 for individual entrées and the remainder allocated to shared dishes, Capital Seafood proved to be an excellent value without compromising taste or presentation. For businesses looking to host onsite lunches that are flavorful, affordable, and sure to spark conversation, Capital Seafood is highly recommended. Their diverse menu, robust portions, and convenient proximity make them an ideal partner for corporate events and team gatherings across Orange County.
I thoroughly enjoyed the dim sum; the har gow, siu mai, and their sizes were all perfect and delicious. The loh mai gai was also generously portioned. The pork porridge was recommended and tasty, although the ingredients were a bit sparse. Overall great dimsum restaurant and price not too expensive compare to some other I went.
Excellent chow mein noodles with seafood and beef with special sauce. Good service overall. Went to lunch @ 3pm and there were a few tables. Large restaurant

Service & food very tasty meet my expectations. Love the soup.\nLocation easy to find & ambiance is very nice.

We went here in August with a group of about 15 people and enjoyed the banquet. Not the most costly banquet option but still amazing!

Started off with hot green tea, followed by lettuce wraps, vegetarian fried rice and mongolian chicken. Place was pretty busy and loud, but food and service make up to it.There was no back ground music or waiters checking in on guests unless asked/summoned(probably due to thankgiving issues). All in all was a decent dinner night.
It’s good enough if you’re craving dim sum and don’t want to drive far in search of really delicious dimsum toward LA. I like their jellyfish dish but you have to specifically ask for it. Their salted fish and chicken and fried rice is good too! Try their chrysanthemum tea to try instead of their usual tea that they serve with dim sum. You just need to ask for it upfront before being served their default (jasmine?) tea. This is my go to spot asides from Tim Ho Wan in Irvine.
Capital Seafood at Irvine Spectrum is one of my favorite Chinese restaurant chains, and it doesn’t disappoint! We visited after church on a Sunday for lunch, and as expected during the holiday season, the place was packed. Thankfully, we had made a reservation and were promptly seated upon arrival. The service was excellent, considering the busyness. Our server was friendly, attentive, and patient as we placed a rather large order of dim sum classics like har gow, siu mai, dumplings, as well as wonton soup, chow fun, and fried rice. The food was consistently good, just like other Capital Seafood locations in the San Gabriel Valley. The dim sum was fresh and flavorful, though we noticed the prices here are significantly higher—over $9 per dish compared to around $4.50 in Monterey Park. Unfortunately, the chow fun with beef fell short; it was overly oily, and the rice noodles were a bit mushy. Overall, Capital Seafood at Irvine Spectrum is a solid choice for dim sum or yum cha, especially when dining with friends in the Irvine area. The lively atmosphere within the Spectrum adds to the experience, and parking is plentiful. While it’s pricier than other locations, it’s a convenient and enjoyable spot for a leisurely dim sum outing.
Recommend chicken feet, xiu mai, especially combination BBQ- duck roasted is so yummy. Don't recommend trying any of their desserts, waste of money because the taste is not good compared to their expensive dessert price. Yang chou fried rice is average. 4 stars because one of the hostesses-tall lady - needs more smiles and, a more welcoming attitude to customers since the host is the face of the restaurant.
We used to eat at this chain restaurant at jamboree in Irvine before, but today we selected this new location in Irvine spectrum for family's dinner. It was right next to Nordrom store , and right across the parking structure so it was hard to miss. We chose to dine inside the restaurant with a party of 20. This restaurant was very beautiful and cozy. With a line of servers ready to serve you. They were very courteous and professional. We ordered a lot of foods from lobsters to beefs and other seafood. I really loved their soup. The foods tasted very delicious and they were not really an extraordinary compared to other places I had been in. Maybe I ate these seafoods most of the time , therefore; I got use to the tastes. By the way I really loved the setting, services which were fast and the environment. The prices were a little hefty , but with this place like this I would blame them. After dinner we s
Tasty dimsum option at the spectrum. Everything was pretty good. The only issue is that the line can get incredibly long which makes it hard to actually go if you have kids. For this reason I've gone a couple of times but have not returned. I think if you planned ahead it could be a good option but not for an impromptu drop in if you have kids.
Came here for dim sum with the crew and had a good experience overall. Everything we ordered was solid… har gow, siu mai, buns, dumplings… all fresh, hot, and reliable. Nothing really blew my mind or had a “wow, I need to come back just for that” moment, but nothing disappointed either. Pretty much the definition of consistent dim sum comfort food.
Good place for dim sum. Bright and spacious interior. It's a good place for small or large groups. Went in for a big family lunch and they easily accommodated our party of 11. Big menu with all the dim sum classics. Service was good. Efficient staff. Good location right across from the parking structure.
High End Chinese Dimsum and seafood bar restaurant located within the Irvine Spectrum Shopping Center. We walked in for a late lunch and got seated right away. We ordered our favorite dimsum : shrimp & pork shumai, spicy beef tendon, chicken feet, Chinese broccoli, all tasted real Chinese style the only problem is the spicy beef tendon did not have much tendon and only slices were of beef. They also have a membership program where in you get 5% off from your complete order you just need to become a member and they scan your barcode to get the cash back. Unfortunately based on the receipt I got there was no 5% cash received from the total of my order. Maybe when we come back I will ask the manager about it. All in all everything was perfect.
Sadly, they were way understaffed. The food was decent but overpriced. Ambiance was fine but the lack of service ruined the experience. Took forever to get our order and while the food came out at …

Enjoy eating outside, but I thought they have varians dimsum menu at dinner time, but unfortunately they just serve at lunch time... Overall, the food is good. We order appetizers for vegetable rolls and beef satay. A little bit disappointed with beef satay, was marinated with peanut sauce but it doesn’t come with the dip. 🤦🏻♀️ and then we also order for salted fish chicken tofu hotpot, it doesn’t come up with rice. Only one that didn’t disappointed is their cocktail, it’s lychee martini with ketel vodka.
The food here is great, but the service is very poor. Everyone was waiting a long time for their food, and the lobby was packed with people waiting forever. Even getting the check took a long time. There seems to be no system or organization at all. They really need to improve a lot of things.
Great customer service & hospitality. We went over the weekend and there was no wait. Outdoor dining available under white tents with lighting and heaters. Large table available seating upto 10 guests. We really enjoyed the Jerk style chicken and pickled veggies. Typical sweet & sour soup, not the best for dimsum or fried rice and quite pricey for what you get. Overall a good place to try.
Came for Sunday Din sum. You order off a menu and the items are delivered to your table. Food was nice and hot. Flavors were OK. Would give a higher food ranking, but the taste was average and the bill was over $100.00 for 2 people. We ordered 5 dishes and fried rice.
Overall, it is just ok. Food was good, but not exquisite. Service was professional but extremely slow. Place gives out a retro vibe, not in a good way. Floor are very sticky from grease I assume. Im sad to say, I will not be going back by choice
Food was excellent. But oh boy, the service was dreadful! Had to beg for water, had to get our own forks and containers for leftovers. Received 2 dishes we didn't order (1 of them twice!), and didn't get 1 item we did order until much later. We enjoyed the chicken corn soup, the beef broccoli, the salt and pepper shrimp, and the Chow fun noodles with chicken, although the noodles were overcooked. There were parties seated who left without eating due to the service. We were bold enough to stand up and wave our arms, which sometimes resulted in attention. And yes, the bill was initially wrong. We paid cash just to get out quicker.
Went for dim sum. Food was decent but not extraordinary as I was expecting. Prices are extremely high for what you get and the quality. Definitely overpriced and usually we are okay if its presented nicely but not the case. Dim sum heated in metal tins instead of bamboo steamers. Service was exceptionally slow. We got seated after some people and got food faster than others. Practically finished our meal and then the other tables there before us got their food. Another table next to us couldn't even get their order in. Wasn't too crowded when we were seated but theh have very few waiters and servers. They had a line of people waiting for tables. Overall, overhyped and not worth the wait.
I went in planning to try the seafood but ended up ordering the “Peking Duck H.” I asked the waiter what “H” meant — he said “half.” I confirmed, “Half a duck?” and he said “yes.” The menu lists $30.88 for half, $58.88 for a whole duck. When it came out, it was more like less than a quarter — just a leg and a few pieces of breast (see my photos). It definitely wasn’t half a duck. The duck itself was very good — crispy and tender. I didn’t care for the buns that came with it. Overall, the pricing felt a little tricky and on the higher side. Maybe I should have ordered seafood or one of the whole fish dishes, which actually seemed like a better value. It seems like a fancy restaurant, but the staff didn’t communicate well about the dishes. It felt like they just wanted to take your order and leave you there, without explaining the menu or checking back. The environment was nice and comfortable. Restrooms were clean with touchless faucets and paper towel dispensers — it would be nice if the soap dispenser was touchless too. Parking is convenient at the Irvine Spectrum, close to the Ferris wheel.
Dumpling are really good, and food in general is actually pretty good (especially the honey walnut shrimp). Service is really poor unfortunately.

Originally we wanted to dine at the other location (better food) we ordered the 5 pound lobster house style, clams and fish dishes @ $300. The food was bland and lacks spices. Had the house lobster at other restaurants and it was delicious.
Service was very bad today. Missed items we paid for, then again when we ordered more. Plates were wet. The table and floor was dirty, see alien they were extremely short staffed
I was kind of disappointed about the food. Dim sum was way too salty and too much msg! I was so parched after eating. The prices they charged doesn’t reflect the food quality. Just because I dined alone that they gave me a seat right across the toilet entrance. On the plus side, the staffs were very attentive.
I've eaten here several times before with my daughter and her family. This time was particular disappointing. We ordered perhaps six or seven dishes and of course they only came one at a time so we would each parcel out a little and eat it and then we sat hungry for another 5 or 10 minutes before the next one arrived. We sat for an entire hour from the first dish to the last dish. It was our impression that the size of the dishes was also smaller than in previous visits. On balance I don't think I would return.
Food price went up while quality went down. You can tell they have insane turnover because last time we came it was "sorry it's my first day" and guess what happened this time months later: sorry it's his first day. The owner serves us, was perfectly nice, but didn't know how to work the iPad, yelled at workers who didn't know which table was which, forgot to serve us... They could almost reach a 3 star if they tried, but then the bill came and each dim sum steamer was $10 or more, for simple things like 3 har gow or fried turnip cakes. $20 for wonton soup. You can do "I don't know what I'm doing" or "sorry the prices have gotten out of hand" - but not both at the same time. I'm sure they're affected by the tariffs and low traffic, but you're not going to get traffic by raising prices to offset your bottom line.
The sitter told us that they had a wait (never said how long) and they were going ti call our name when ready. 20 minutes later, customers kept coming out, we were the only ones (two) waiting for a table. A family came straight out inside, I wait 5 minutes to see what happened, my surprise was that they were sitting at a table. I asked the cashier and he said that they didn't have reservation, but he will sit us right away. Servers no where to be found, inattentive, and indifferent. Food was ok. This place was great when it was at the Jamboree location. No more.
Something has changed recently. I come here a few times a year, but today the whole experience was different in a bad way. No one greets you at the door, you have to wait to be noticed. The tea is flavorless, it used to be fragrant jasmine. The staff seem confused, and one waiter actually yelled at a family at another table. The former staff who we love are all gone. I can't say I'll ever come back.
We have 4 tables & preordered food per table, food came slow, we have to ask for tea & water 3 times. compared to other chineese restaurants they don't have enough server but they added gratuity on the bill. I paid $2,000 for 35 people no peking duck or lobster on my order so do the math. I never had a bad experience in eating at chinese restaurant except today.
We didn't have a chance to visit this location since the Pandemic. We stopped by yesterday (Tuesday) for lunch. Quality of food is about average. Service was abysmal. The two waiters there were overwhelmed by the customer demand. Getting their attention for anything took some real effort! I hope they do well, but I won't visit again.
Worst service i ever had! First guy couldn't speak English. The next lady kept walking away when we order, and then forgot my drink (whiskey), so I ended up not ordering it. Even forgot my utensil. But the food was actually good and came quickly. And they serve a lot which is good. If they improve service, this place would be ok, but service was by FAR the worst
Not sure what happened to this place. The entry had no host and patrons were just standing around not sure if someone was supposed to sit them. We basically sat ourselves at a table realizing there was only one server working. I asked for a menu and she brought one for my table of 6. The food surprisingly came out quickly and what we ordered was very good. It's my third time eating here and the food is always very tasty. Just not sure what was with the service.

Food cold, not good. Service terrible. Double charged entree. Do not go. Could not get drinks served
We waited over an hour to be seated down. By the time we sat down we waved our hands more than five times for a server. We waited, no water, no service. Absolutely horrible. The server grabbed the tea pot from another table that just left and tried to put it on our table. After I yelled at him and told him that is leftover and disgusting he then went to get a new one!!!! Be careful if you want clean food! Completely no sense of health standards. Porridge came but no bowl nor spoons. I am no wild animal and was pissed waiting asking serveral times again! Food came we had no utensils . Then after waiting for 10 min someone gave us spoon but they were dirty (see picture). Being completely frustrated our food didn’t come complete . I finally had enough and called the server to fix and give us all 9 items we ordered. For this price the service was shitty service, this place needs to close down for the unsanitary practices. Please stay away! I would give no stars if I could. Worst ever dim sum ever! The vegetable was super salty, the dim sum meat was undercooked. The porridge was cold. Save your money and time !!!! This is the worst!!!
*** VERY EERIE, UNCOMFORTABLE AND DISASTEROUS *** We had a reservation for a large party at 5:30, we were promptly seated. When we looked around the place was empty, a bit eerie given it was prime dinner time, the chairs were quite small and felt like banquet chairs, very uncomfortable. The website clearly states 'Happy Hour served Monday-Friday, 3:30-6:00pm excluding holidays' Two gentleman came to our table - dressed in causal clothes, no name tag and proceed to take our their phone to take our order. I proceeded to ask what cocktails were part of happy hour, "no I don't think so, no happy hour." I placed an order for Sangria, after 15 minutes the drink arrived, half empty glass, with orange peels and 1 cherry. VERY strange. After the drinks arrived the gentlemen who took our order were no where to be found. 15 minutes later we walked up to the cashier and asked for the check as we had been waiting a total of 30 minutes and food was not ordered. This establishment decided to add a gratuity for large party, the nerve, we only ordered drinks and had to walk out and they still charged gratuity? Total advantageous on their part. Please do yourself a favor and stay away. SIMPLY DISASTEROUS EXPERIENCE
Terrible experience. Do not eat here. The food tastes old, and the noodles were rotten. I even found mold in my food. This restaurant needs a serious health inspection."
Really bad service. Waited for 20 min to be seated with a reservation. Then 2 hours to serve us one dish. We will never been coming back.
Ordered online and picked up. It showed the resturant has the food ready but after I arrived, the resturant said no food for me and other people who were waiting there to pick up. The resturant said they are not accepting pick up due to their short staff. Why they are not telling in advance that they are short of staff today but wait until people arrive and tell them no food!
Waited for 20 mins with no welcome or instruction, seated at the bar and forgotten for another 20 mins. Talked to manager and responded with “we are too busy”, and I had to walk away… extremely disorganized and disrespectful.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I ordered for pick up through DoorDash and when I went in waited a few minutes to be helped. I showed the first person my order information and they said a few more minutes. A few more minutes turned into 35 plus minutes. I asked another worker and she took my phone to the back to show the order name. Come to find out the order wasn’t even started and the order was placed over 1 HOUR AGO!! When I asked the alleged manager for her name, she ignored me and kept looking at the screen in front of her instead of giving me updates or an answer or being HONEST ABOUT MESSING UP. When I asked why she wouldn’t give her name or bosses contact information she started yelling at me and threatened to call the police on me. There’s been a change in management and it’s for THE WORST. Save your money and go where you’re respected as a customer.
Well this is sad. We have been going to this location for 10 years, and I think there has been a change in ownership. Service, food quality, everything is bad. We are now looking for a new dim sum spot. Avoid at all cost!
Shameful in the name of dim sum! Food was so bland and expensive. Chairs are so dirty. Can’t get any services due to lack of staff. Definitely can get your money worth with better dim sum elsewhere.
*update: overcharged! This resturant overcharged and modified your bill! It’s so disgusting! We went there for family dinner on thanksgiving night, it was a horrible decision to come to this restaurant. The service is bad and the food is cold, plus, the long long food wait times ruined all the customers thanks giving night. While we were waiting for food, we noticed 2 service ladies stand in front of the kitchen and took selfies, instead of serving the customers…it’s so disappointing and unhappy experience.
I've yet been able to eat here. Their hours posted are wrong. Every time I've arrived trying to get a seat, the man has yelled at me to get out and told me they were closed. The other times he's blatantly ignored me and this last time he did the same and hacked/coughed in my face. I'm immunocompromised and that is just pure disrespectful and horrible. (He told me they were closed while taking in another family that just walked in with no previous reservations btw. He is prejudice.)
I wanted to try this place out because it seemed like a more upscale version of dim sum but I left the restaurant with something to be desired. FIRST IMPRESSIONS It’s located at Irvine Spectrum and the decor is absolutely gorgeous. I love that they have a bar at the front of the restaurant and thought that the little paper decorations for the bathroom were a nice little touch. The aesthetic is very pleasing and definitely looks authentic. FOOD Seafood noodle for $18.88 — definitely order this! It is so worth it. This is a huge platter meant for sharing and it comes with several different types of seafood and vegetables. You also have the option of ordering crispy noodles which make it that much more delicious. I love watching the crispy noodles cook on top of the hot sauce and items. Xiu Mai (4 pieces) — HUUUGE pieces and oh so yummy! Definitely worth trying out. They weren’t dry and they had a lot of filling inside. Overall, something I’d order many baskets of. Pork dumplings (3 pieces) — also three big pieces but they were delicious as well. The skin was delicate and flavorful. The fillings complemented each other. Pork Xiao long bao (4 pieces) — DO NOT ORDER THIS! I was so stoked to come here because of the xlb and the moment the basket was placed on the table I was beyond disappointed. The top of the xlb was dry as if it was steamed for too long and without enough water. The inside of the xlb also showed this as there was no soup to drink of. In fact, had someone just told me it was a pork dumpling I would’ve said it wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t. So don’t order this if you’re expecting good xlb. Bbq pork bun — I liked this because there was a lot of pork in it but overall it fell kind of flat. There was a lot of bread and it needed to have more sauce inside the bun because it was dry. SERVICE I actually strongly disliked the service we received here and is largely in part the reason for the scathing review. One very important component to successful dining is by asking the guests if it is their first time eating here, that way you can explain to them how the restaurant works. What essentially happened for us was that we were seated at a table and then people immediately kept coming to us asking if we wanted something off of their tray. For my family, we were a bit thrown off because of how aggressive they came in and because they did not give us time to think or even order gecer I also didn’t appreciate how the server did not mention to us that the tea was NOT complimentary. When we asked if it was, he pretended as if he did not hear or understand the question so he returned with one pot and three cups... only for us to find out that it was FIVE DOLLARS FOR ONE MEASLY POT THAT WAS NEVER REFILLED. Our water cups were all empty and they were never filled. Not once did the server come to ask us how we were doing. The servers with cold items were far too aggressive and tried to force us to order items from them that we had already repeatedly told them we did not want. The servers with the hot cart took forever to come to our table and I still don’t get why there was only one person for the entire restaurant on a busy Friday lunch. — Overall, it really takes a lot for me to write a one star review for a restaurant but Capital did not leave me room to give them anything else. I hope that they take this review to heart so that they can focus on how to drastically improve this restaurant because from the looks of it, the only ones I can see actually enjoying this restaurant are people who have no idea what food to compare their menu to.
Unable to rate the food since we were never seated. Only one person serving the tables AND seating guests so nobody got seated even though there was an abundance of open tables. Do not recomend.
Long waiting and not take care customers at all. We ordered three courses and had been waiting for 40mins, and then we have been told that order was not completed, they placed order again, and waiting for another 20 mins, none of them ready on the table. Very disappointed… not recommend unless your time is not valuable.
This was the first time I've been to a restaurant where you have to get your own spoons and bowls! worst service! It was the worst dining experience I've ever had!! will never come back again!!
Food was not cooked well, unseasoned, sauceless. We ordered house special fish fillet and we were served soggy unseasoned fish pieces that tasted old. The garlic string beans were dry, tough, also bland. Even the white rice and jasmine tea were bad, what a joke. What makes it worse was I marked 18% tip due to subpar service and they charged me 22% tip !! CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS PEOPLE! Will be disputing with credit card company.
The shrimp was tough, so the quality of the shrimp can be improved. The Peking duck was dry and the skin didn't have enough fat. The beef in the beef noodles was tough and had an unfresh smell and taste. Other dim sum dishes were decent. The egg tarts, red bean and purple rice cakes and pineapple buns with cream filling were tasty, but the sesame balls with red bean filling were too tough and the mango pudding had flavoring that tasted off and bad. The ice water had a crisp, clean taste.
I went there with my mom and my 2 kids. 11:30am they called us to be seated at the table. The settings were just for 3 ppl there were no chopsticks or kids silverware. We ordered quickly cuz kids don’t want to wait too long, and I gave the order slip to the waiter.we waited waited and waited .It was 12:10 pm we haven’t got any food . Two tables were canceled and left before us i think they all got tired of waiting!! We saw Other table who came later than us just started eating . I asked the waiter excuse me is our order ready or start to make. They say let us put your order now. Are you kidding me? Drove all the way from LA to spend my time with kids during my short day-off .They just had wasted my precious time!!! No apologies So rude. Why there were so many staffs working there but no one noticed which table is waiting for food or which order they didn’t put in. So silly !! Never go there!! Terrible service !!
WAITED OVER ONE HOUR TO GET A TABLE!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!! And then when I saw the people who were in front of us at the next table and they STILL didn’t have food, our family got up and left. Do not go!!! You are in irvine spectrum and there are so many better options than this place!!!!!!
My family and I came here for some good dim sum on Thanksgiving and got the complete opposite. It took over an hour to bring out our food. People who had came in after us had left and been served before us. After an hour of waiting and asking MULTIPLE servers the status of our order, they told us they never even got it. Once we finally got ahold of the manager the ladies in the back argued with us that they already served us our food, WHEN WE NEVER DID. The ladies in the back were extremely rude arguing with us and telling us they weren't going to help us. Extremely disappointed with they're service today especially on a holiday. I usually love to come here, but not anymore.
Went here for a birthday, no staff to be found. Stood in the waiting area for 20 minutes before staff asked how many guests and left for another 10 minutes without another word. The food came out cold with an occasional hot piece of shumai. We asked for water, and the waiter came back 20 minutes later with two waters for the whole table, we had 8 guests. For extra context, the tables were not full, there were two other tables that had people with about 15 other tables empty. When ordering food, many of the items of the menu were not available and the staff would dismiss our orders and scoff when we would ask if an item on the menu was available. The staff avoided our table like the plague and would walk the other way anytime we had a question. We trued to go to the front to ask if we could order more food, but the front staff would walk to the back of the restaurant and say to wait for the next staff to come to the front or to wait at our table for someone to see us. The problem was we would not see a staff come anywhere near our table. When paying the bill, they charged us for extra items that we did not order and had to wait as they needed to confirm that they got it wrong. They tried to charge us an extra $75 for food that did not even arrive. While there, two other parties walked out due to lack of staff, lack of service, and due to the majority of food being cold. Please save your money and go to Cheesecake Factory or literally anywhere else at the Irvine Spectrum.
Do not come here. What a circus. Came here on Sunday November 23 at 10 am. The doors did not open until 10:15 with people standing outside lining up. Once we finally got in, there were about 7 parties seated but no one to take anyones order. It is now 10:40 and no one has taken our order due to "the internet being down and theres no way for people to pay" is the reason we were given as to why our order hasnt been taken. We would leave but no where is open until 11 or 11:30 here at the stupid Spectrum. Poor management skills for not being able to handle the failures of this restaurant.
we waited 1 hour straight as we seated at 4pm with zero dishes coming up, while other tables came later than us got theirs food in reasonable time. honestly they have zero idea what’s time management, we ordered something that’s nothing time consuming to make anyway, so this is ridiculous. We ended up leaving, no idea what the food tastes and with no regrets.
Poor service, bland food, and understaffed. Soup was cold, rice was unsalted, chili oil containers were empty. They ignored our requests for water and brought incorrect items to the table. The restaurant only had 2 other tables seated. People continued to leave because their orders were not taken. We were stuck for an additional 40 minutes waiting for our check so that we could leave.
It's been an hour since we ordered and we just got one dish served. In their defense it's Chinese New Year, but they aren't busy. Most tables are empty (and similarly without did). When they get an online order an iPad claxon goes off, sometimes for minutes, before a staff member silences it. One of two urinals in the men's room has been broken for months. The towel dispenser in the men's room is either broken or just not refilled. Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill.
The shrimp dumplings were pre-made, and the worst part was ordering the expensive East Star Grouper, only to find that the best part—the belly meat—had been taken out! When the manager was called over, he first gave unreasonable excuses to avoid responsibility and then offered to remake it. What a completely untrustworthy restaurant!
Very disappointed, only two servers. When I walk in the owner was arguing with a customer because her family has been seated for almost 2 hrs and nothing on. 2 stars for food, over priced, not deserve it. My family ordered only 3 dishes and still waited for one hour. Only 5 tables customer and it’s really empty, no idea why it takes so long. Negative stars for service. No service at all, no tip recommended. By the way, when I leave, the chief was also arguing w/ the owner for inaccurate info lol and 4 tables request refund. Interesting experience.
Ordered dim sum and waited 30 minutes without any dish coming out, and ignored by waitstaff. Finally, 3 different waitstaff come to check on us (probably the order was forgotten). Waited 15 more minutes and then left. At least the tea was good.
This restaurant has really gone downhill. We’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 10-years but the changes from the new management is a disaster. The ambiance, service and food quality are simply poor. The prices haven’t dropped much, but the napkins are now cheap paper, the steam fish isn’t fresh, the beef was tough and seasoned entirely too sweet, and wonton soup broth wasn’t clear with frozen tasting wontons. Needless to say, we won’t be back until we see consistency in positive reviews. Until then, Dim Tai Fung will get our business.
We entered quickly because we had a reservation which was good in the beginning. After, we got seated and after ordering that where it started going down hills. We waited one hour for our food yet we still hadn’t eaten anything yet. We asked the waiter and they claimed that we had only been here for a few minutes which was absurd when we’ve been here for more the one hour. The food tasted too salty over all, our food took about 10 minutes for each dish to come. Even though we reserved a private room the waitress ignores and served the outside tables first. Restrooms were cramped unless you went to the biggest stall which was the minimum size. Only two waitresses were serving us kindly and actually acknowledging us, the service was slow and poor (except the two waitresses, thank you :)) Over all this place is a one star maybe two.
The service at Capital Seafood Restaurant is extremely bad. We waited over an hour without being offered water, and no one seemed to care about the customers at all. Staff were unresponsive and inattentive the entire time. On top of the poor service, the food was a disappointment, way too salty, to the point that it felt like a waste. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience. Poor management, poor service, and poor food. I would not recommend this place.
Trying to get seated is hard. My group stood at the doorway waiting to be received by a host or something of the sort, to no avail. So we had to go out of our way to flag down a waited to be seated. When seated we had multiple occasions when we were ready to order where waiters avoided our table for an excess amount of time. While the restaurant was not busy. When we finally got our order in, we received a portion of the dishes we order almost immediately, while being warm, causing concern. Food itself was nothing special. Honey walnut shrimp sauce tastes like straight up sweet mayo. Peking duck skin was soft and fatty, rather than crispy and melty. Only thing this place has going for them is the decor. Under the hood is a poorly managed restaurant, with subpar food. Is rather go to a chain.
My family and I went there for dinner on Saturday night. We waited about 55 minutes to get a couple of dishes out of 6 total. The fish soup was overly oily and spicy, and the Mongolian beef was also oily and overcooked. The dim sum and Chinese broccoli were pretty good, but we didn't receive the two other dishes because the restaurant was busy, and we didn't want to wait a long time to get them. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the order. The tall, older Asian server, who was attending to our table, handed us the food rudely. When we asked him about the rest of our order. He literally yelled at us to wait several times, then ignored us and passed by. He also started to argue with me because I asked him to explain the Chinese broccoli dish to me. No apology or " I’m sorry. I have never been rude to anyone in the food service industry, but he was just way too aggressive in his interactions with customers, often displaying an attitude. This restaurant used to serve good food, was clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly, but that's no longer the case. This is the worst Chinese restaurant in OC. We will never go back there again.
The night was a complete nightmare. Everything was chaotic since we stepped in the restaurant. The service was terrible. The waiters were just absent-minded and unfamiliar with the menu. The waiting time was unacceptable. We were literally forgotten in the corner. The dishes either tasted disgusting or took forever to serve. We ordered Canadian crab, assorted dim sum, black cod and other dishes. The crab was absolutely not fresh but the manager insisted it was. We live in Maryland and we eat blue crab all the time and we know what a fresh crab tastes like. The dim sum didn’t come until we checked our bill, while the manager insisted they had already served it. It turned out they served it to the wrong table. The fish was the one made us furious. After waiting for an hour, when we were about to pay our bill, we asked the manager whether they had even start to cook the dish, but she said it would be ready right away. Do people consider 20 minutes as right away now? We had kids with us last night and it was already 9pm at that time. The kids wanted to sleep. The manager just refused to refund the dish and kept us in the restaurant. We even said just let us go we would pay for the fish. This was absolutely the worst dining-out experience I had through these years. I would never come back again and recommend other people looking for alternative options.
Consider 100X times if you would like to come here for family dinner or collages.. there is no service , we sit about 10minutes nobody come to take our order, and we have to go to the cashier to order that is CRAZY. After that they just bring you food and then left you without checking your table and guess what they even charge you for the service fee 18% of 4 adult and 2 toddler. I understand why they are not checking our table or even service.. maybe it because the service fee is already included. Definitely will not Coming Back ! Food is Average , Panda Express might be better and of course the service too!
⭐☆☆☆☆ We were here just now and had an extremely bad experience. We waited almost 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. No greeting, no service at all. I had to raise my hand three times and ask for service repeatedly before anyone finally came over. When someone did approach us, the attitude was rude and unprofessional. We came with friends visiting from Texas and simply wanted to have lunch. We were already ready to order — everyone had chosen their dishes. Instead of taking our order, we were handed a piece of paper and told to mark what we wanted, which felt unnecessary and dismissive, especially since we were ready to order normally. Overall, the service was terrible and uncomfortable. Completely do not recommend this place to anyone. We won’t be coming back.
I would advise considering other options, as my experience involved a 30-minute wait to be seated, with no apparent system for signing in or joining a waitlist. If you have a reservation, it appears you need to approach the cashier directly, as there isn't a dedicated host to assist. It seems one must actively seek attention from the staff to receive guidance. After being seated, we experienced another 30-minute wait before our order was taken, even after attempting to flag down three different staff members. Despite clearly marking my selections and quantities, there were inaccuracies in the order, including an item I did not request. I recommend thoroughly reviewing your order. I would also suggest avoiding the Beef Meat Balls, as I found them to be unsatisfactory. The Sugarcane Shrimp Balls were excessively salty, to the point of being unpalatable. The Taro Seafood dish contained no seafood and was merely a bland taro paste. Regarding the egg rolls, we were informed they were being prepared fresh for approximately an hour, which seemed unusually long. When we eventually requested to cancel this item, it was processed very quickly. This was my first and will be my last visit. Cannot trust reviews on Social Media.
