Cluck Kitchen Irvine Reviews
Cluck Kitchen is a great spot if you’re craving crispy fried chicken with bold flavor. The chicken was freshly made, super crispy on the outside and still juicy inside. The seasoning had a nice kick — flavorful without being overwhelming. You can tell it’s fried to order because the crust stays crunchy even after a few minutes. The waffle fries were also solid — crispy and well-seasoned, and they pair perfectly with the chicken. Portions are generous, so it’s definitely filling. It’s the kind of comfort food that really hits the spot. The place is pretty casual and straightforward, more about the food than the atmosphere, but service was quick and efficient. Overall, a reliable option for fried chicken lovers. I’d come back again when I’m in the mood for something crispy and satisfying.
We loved the food. The place was mid level clean. I always go to the bathroom at restaurants so I can write about it and it was mid. The service was also mid. The chicken was not mid. 10/10 chicken. So much flavor. Fries were nothing to complain about. The bread was literally just a piece of bread which made me laugh. You get a bunch of different flavor options for your chicken so you can get whatever suits you.
We arrived at John Wayne airport and headed directly to Cluck Kitchen for lunch. The chicken sandwiches here are pretty life-changing. I got the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. The chicken for this is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The breast was almost an inch thick, but it was tender and tempting with every bit. The first two bites, you think that the bun is going to be too much, but you soon realize that you need that heavy-duty bun to have it stand up to the juice of this sandwich. The staff at the register warned us that their flavors tend to the hot side, so since it was my first time here I got the mild. I was thankful that she had pointed this out because it was plenty warm. I also ordered some of the street corn fritters. Compared to the chicken they did not have the same level of flavor, and I would recommend picking up an extra cup of sauce to dip the fritters in. The cups of sauce cost an extra 75 cents, but I think it would have really added to the fritters. The fritters are light and fluffy. We ate outside in the large shared dining area and it was very pleasant.
Crew was friendly and accommodating. I ordered the havarti chicken sandwich, corn fritters and the croissant beignets; I asked for the beignets to come out after my food so I had a chance to eat. The chicken sandwich.. holy hell hot and fresh; there was steam coming off the sandwich. It had a nice crunch to it with a lot of flavor. The corn fritters had a nice crunch and a really good spicy flavor. The beignets also were super hot! The caramel was sooo good, the beignets were flakey. My husband got the Nashville hot, he is a heat lover and it took him out! He loved it. Fries were hot and delicious, the ranch was perfect. Edit: visit 2 the chicken on the Nashville chicken sandwich was pretty greasy, but the flavor was good.
On just mild, the spice level build up will make you need a drink. Ordered the Nashville hot chicken and tenders on just mild so my wife and I can enjoy a slight heat with every bite but the heat builds up pretty quickly. The chicken pieces were pretty generous and it is a hefty sandwich. Will definitely come back again to try and not share the higher spice levels.
I love spice, and I love chicken so whenever I see a place that has spicy chicken I'm going to try it. I ordered the chicken sandwich and fried pickles. Since I was headed to work I only got the extra hot. For sure next time I'll order Get Clucked. The sandwich was juicy and delicious. For me extra hot was mild, but I have a high tolerance for heat. I think the sauce would be great on fries. I can't wait to try Get Clucked. The portion of fried pickles was enough to satisfy two people. They are definitely worth the money. This place is on my list of favorites for spicy chicken. Dine in still isn't allowed yet, but there's plenty of tables outside. The place is clean, and all COVID protocols are followed. I think some spicy chicken would be perfect to take on a flight. It would drive the other passengers nuts
Nashville hot chicken, yes it is. I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich with spice level of hot and loved it. It was hot but tolerable for me and it tasted REALLY good. If youre not eating spicy food regularly, I would recommend going down to medium. The comeback sauce is their version of a thousand island. Their ranch is made with dill and is a classic condiment for all. Looks like its first come, first serve. When they run out, theyre out. Can't wait to go back for more and suggest you give them a try.
Good lord the chicken sandwich here is remarkable. I’ve been on a fried chicken tear as of late and have eaten way too many fried chicken sandwiches (and fried chicken in general) but this place takes the cake. No comparison to any other fried chicken spot. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich is gigantic, the bun is perfect, the slaw is well balanced, the pickles are just right and the sauce isn’t overpowering and gives just the right amount of balance to the heat of the chicken. The chicken itself is a juicy, top notch, high quality breast fried to perfection. Stellar. The waffle fries are solid as well, the ranch dressing is fresh, homemade and has a hint of dill, well balanced, refreshing. A+ spot, winner in my book. Don’t miss it.
Cashier was so friendly & the food was DELICIOUS. Plus it's affordable!!
Cluck Kitchen is MY FAVORITE place to eat. Their chicken tenders are crispy, juicy, and well cooked. Additionally, the corn fritters are not matched, and their fries are surprisingly delicious. The price is a little high, but every dollar is worth it. I don't do this often, but I wholeheartedly believe that you should try this place. A++ for Cluck!
You have to try the Nashville hot chicken strips and make sure you get the “get clucked” heat level. It will make you smile and cry at the same time. I also recommend he fritters the pickles and the Mac and Cheese.
Got the extra hot, I'm very heat tolerant but it was touch and go for a few minutes. I got the Nashville hot sandwich, just the right amount of toppings, and the flavor of the sandwich actually makes it through the heat, and i just wiped my eye, that was a mistake. update: chicken strips are awsome too, and they're big strips, got the hot this time, solid strip, fork tender, crispy battering(most places are too soggy in my opinnion), and just enough heat to not have to spend time crying afterwards
Hands down the best chicken strips I have ever tried! Nothing comes close..we ordered three of the best chicken strips from the area and did a blind test to see which one wins. We were three people and all three chose Cluck Kitchen hands down. This place is seriously good and a hidden gem..
Portions are big and the taste is great.
After having their Nashville Hot sandwich, I can easily say Cluck Kitchen is one of my top 3 places for fried chicken! I definitely recommend giving this place a shot because their chicken is cooked to the perfect crispiness and juiciness.
We drove out from the Inland Empire and it was 💯 worth it. My husband has the “Get Clucked” and it was a perfect heat challenge with just as much flavor. It even made him tear up 🥵 🔥 🤩 I had the “Extra Hot” which was still pretty fiery but soooo damn good. All the food was fresh, juicy and HOT!!! We’ll definitely be recommending this place and coming back as often as possible.
Awesome chicken, excellent seating options, and friendly staff.
Wonderful food! I'm always so happy and satisfied when I come here. I get the Nashville chicken sandwich (mild) and it's a comfortable spice level. I'll be coming back here each time I get the craving!
Very tasty food. The Nashville mild is the one I picked. Crispy hot out of the fryer and what you need after a long day of flying. The inside seating is small, but has a lovely shared patio for nice days.
I am surprised this place is only a 4.5. I have tasted every chicken sandwich and Popeyes was the best....until I tasted Cluck Kitchen. Hands down the best presentation and tasty sandwich I have ever had. I usually do not like cole slaw on my sandwich but this was no ordinary slaw. They definitely exceeded my expectations. It is worth a drive also! I would go here every day over other. It is on another level!!!!
Fast service - cluck classic chicken sandwich was perfect combination of crispy and juicy! My hubby enjoyed the Nashville hot tenders!
One of the best fried chicken sandos in town! If you have had cluck and blaze, this is just as good. The chicken is juicy and the spices are great. If you are a fan of spicy, I would reccomend getting extra hot. Hot wasn't cutting it for me, I like mines super spicy !
I would choose this restaurant over Chick-Fil-A any day. Absolutely a delight. Since going to Nashville I have missed the hot chicken sandwich and this sandwich satisfied that craving. Their spice definitely has some kick and for optimal mouth feel and flavor eat it fresh. Sandwiches/Meat (that I tried): Nashville Hot: classic and delicious, on the spicier side but still has all the components I enjoy. Juicy, moist delicious and well cooked. A bit on the pricey side BUT you can tell it is cooked with love and care (the chicken is thick). Havarti Hen: a unique take on a fried chicken sandwich but in my opinion was too sweet for my taste, I could see this flavor appealing to other people. Tenders: So much food. This in my opinion is the best deal. The tenders are large and not overtly battered but still have a nice crunch and taste. Tried it with all the sauces I had and it worked with all of them. Forget Chick-fil-A, this is a MUCH better deal and tastes fresher. Wing: Decent size, decent amount of meat, definitely the order for someone who likes bone-in chicken. Otherwise, I would say the tenders are better. Based on the mayo I've tried and chicken quality, I expect the original to be nothing short of delicious. Sides (that I tried): Fried pickles: crispy and delicious, they don't skimp on the batter or the pickle, the ranch it comes with is also delicious. TIP: if you're not eating it right away, open the box to release the steam so it doesn't get soggy. Corn Fritters: Super super crisp and fluffy, not too heavy on the palette and good flavor. The mayo included is delicious as well. Mac & Cheese: The least unique thing in my opinion, but it's perfect for the kids and satisfies the purpose. Fries: Curly fries that are crispy and curly, not much that's unique but closest resemblance is if the McDonald's French Fry and In-N-Out French fry had a baby. Sauces (that I tried): Cluck Sauce: The better of the two custom sauces. It's like ranchy and creamy and flavorful. Can't really put my finger on the exact flavor. Comeback Sauce: A lesser Cane's sauce in my opinion, much more mayo-y than I would've liked and blander than the Cluck Sauce. Lastly, price and ambiance. The staff was very friendly and you could tell they enjoyed where they worked. The restaurant itself is well designed and trendy, I can't wait to go eat there when indoor dining opens again. As for the price, I see that there are people who say that it's expensive and yes, it kinda is in comparison to fast-food fast food but for a fast casual restaurant I would say it's on-par/slightly above. BUT this is the restaurant's only location so be cognizant that it is a small business. If you like the food, and find the price in your budget, continue to support. Will be back.
I was a little skeptical about spending $10.00+ for a chicken sandwich. Of course, I had to remind myself of where the restaurant was located - in Irvine, on a main drag near the airport. That being said, the sandwich was damn good. It was big enough to cut in half, and make two meals out of it, and the sandwich was damn tasty. The restaurant is clean, and the menu is simple. Just be aware that when you add "hot" to your food, go conservative. Start milder the first time to establish a baseline. Nothing is worse than having food too spicy to enjoy it, unless you enjoy bathing in sweat!
Seems like chicken joints are popping up all over the place these days but few of them seem to stand out over the others. This one certainly holds it's own. The tipping point being the chicken, so tender compared to other joints. And the seasoning is really good too, some places just throw a bunch of red stuff on there to make it hot. This stuff can be spicy but tastes really good and savory too. Warning on the Spiciness...I love spicy food and even the middle spice was pretty over the top even for me, so maybe try the spice level below what you think you would want if you are unsure.
Read about the spice levels used on their chicken sandwiches. I'm a heat seeker so I had to check it out. I ordered the chicken sandwich with the "Get Clucked" heat level. I was not disappointed. Sandwich was sooo good. Chicken was moist and tasty dressed up with condiments, lettuce, and pickles. The spicy-ness was a surprise. Spicy it was! Normally places promote spicy and it is not that spicy to me. Cluck Kitchen was what it advertised. I'm going back!
This was a random find after landing at SNA. My son wanted chicken and chick fil a was closed (it was Sunday), so I googled and found this place. He got the nuggets and I got the Nashville hot chicken tenders. Quality of chicken was great, flavors were really good as well. Living in Nashville, they had a great take on the hot chicken. (And their iced tea was really good as well!)
This is my go to spot ever since Baba’s closed for business in Costa Mesa. It ended up being a blessing in disguise since they blow them out of the water. I go for their sandwich which is always great. Only thing I could recommend is being a bit more generous with the chicken on the loaded fries so it could be a meal on its own.
Best hot chicken I've ever had. Got it with the hot Nashville and man it was crazy good. Maybe not the best thing to eat before a long flight but I took the challenge head on. Crazy juicy, hot temp and sauce and just an overall solid experience. Would happily return.
I recently dined at Click Kitchen, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was incredibly tasty, with a perfect blend of flavors that left my taste buds dancing. If you love spicy food, this is the place to be. Each dish had just the right amount of heat to make it exciting without overpowering the natural flavors of the ingredients. The ambiance was welcoming, and the staff was attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend Click Kitchen for anyone looking for delicious and spicy cuisine. Can’t wait to go back!
THE FOOD IS AWESOME HUGE PORTIONS, GREAT PRICE, I LOVE THIS CHICKEN. IT'S WAY BETTER THAN ANY OTHER HOT CHICKEN I'VE HAD.
Best clucking chicken sandwich in the business! The Nashville hot is amazing and their waffle fries are on point!
The food is always so delicious and never misses. I love the new deals that are coming out, specially with this economy.
some of the best chicken strips I’ve had way better than the chains Like raising Cane‘s or Chick-fil-A
Portions were great and flavors was also amazing with the dry rubs. I will be definitely coming back here again. Staff was very nice to explain everything to me since it was my first time visiting. I recommend 👌
My wife and I ordered takeout at Cluck for our two-year anniversary. Yep, it's that good, and yes, it was her idea. I think we've been here almost every week since this place has opened, seriously, it's that good. Staff is always friendly and there's plenty of outdoor seating! MUST TRY: - Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich: I mean, how could you NOT get this? We personally go with spicy level 2 which brings just the right amount of heat. - Nashville Hot Chicken Wings: These are the absolute BEST wings I've ever laid hands on. They're PACKED with flavor; it's a perfect mixture of crispy, sweet, spicy, juicy - and all of it just melts in your mouth, y'all. - Street Corn Fritters: One of the more unique sides on the menu; it's the perfect complement to the wings. - Fried Pickles: This is just too good not to get. We usually try to order one side but we always end up getting both this and the corn fritters. And we always have leftovers because the portions here are way too generous.
By far the best chicken sandwich i've had in orange county
I’d like to start off by saying the fries are to die for, perfect crispiness and crunch while still being soft and flavorful, and paired with their sauce, the “comeback sauce” it literally made me come back a second time even though it’s a bit of a drive from me. The chicken is also great, it has the perfect crispy and spice outside that gives a satisfying crunch when you bite into it, but is still juicy on the inside. Staff is also friendly, I highly recommend this place
Yum!! Great spot for Nashville chicken. Everyone in my office was super happy with their order. Gotta order the fried pickles, they’re good ones!! I will say, it would be nice if this business had a way to contact them… They do not answer the phones, they do not offer an option through DoorDash for notes (such as allergies), the business page does not respond to instagram messages, emails, or even Yelp questions. Luckily I slid into Chef Ryan’s DM’s and he got back to me :) For those with Allergies, if there’s nothing on the website or menu, we’ve always gotta ask.
Always an amazing chicken sando!!!!!!!!! Always consistent and never NEVER disappoints! Salud
This place is CLUCKIN GOOD. Had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich (medium), Mac and fries. Medium hot is the nice kinda spicy where you might cry a tear, but because it's so good. The sandwich is also MASSIVE, and this stuff is quality. Mac and the fries aren't innovative in any way, but they don't have to be. They just went to the basics and they did it pretty dang well. For my meal it should be approx 20 bucks but I think it's actually quite worth.
Really excellent! Our large group got some of almost everything (Nashville, Havarti, and regular chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers, fried pickles, corn fritters). Everyone loved their food. And the Nashville Hot sandwiches are really hot! I'm someone who likes spicy Thai food (the real spicy, not Americanized spicy) and was good with level 2-3. My teenager had to take a break in the middle of her level 1 Nashville. And the flavor on those is SOO good. There are also quite a wide range of different sauces. I think we tried three; one with the pickles, one with the corn fritters and one with the chicken fingers. All were really special. Ryan Yi, who started this place, is a real gourmet and it shows. Oh, and as other reviews have noted the chicken is really excellent -- moist and juicy, and the fry is really excellent. I'm normally not a huge fan of fried chicken but loved it.
This place is the epitome of human evolution. I come here about twice a week and the food has always exceeded my expectations. Regardless if you like spicy food or not there is a heat level for everyone. My wife loves their country fried, while I am addicted to the extra hot. Their portion sizes are huge as well. I still remember my first time here. I was absolutely speechless and had to sleep in my car for 30 minutes in the parking lot because the size of the sandwich knocked me out. Yes, It's huge. As far as the sides go my favorites are the Corn Fritters and the Mac and Cheese. Their fries are of the curly kind but slightly on the salty side. Also, most of their sides are big enough to be shared, unless you are like me and vaporize a whole box by yourself. Their cocktails are delicious too. You might be reserved ordering them since you do have to drive home after but I can assure you, after that size of a meal you could jug 8 of them and barely feel it. Don't walk, run over here and get their food. Just don't do it when I am there, to keep the line short.
Great chicken, tender, nicely fried, and flavorful. Was it gourmet 5 stars? No, but very tasty fast food fried chicken; not greasy. Atmosphere is a 3 because it was nothing special, but nice outdoor seating is available.
AWH MAN where do i start. I cant get enough of their juicy delicious chicken sandwiches!! Ive tried the nashville hot and the regular chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. So good that i came back 3 times and would definitely keep coming back. Cant wait to come and try the spicier level of the Nashville hot chicken. So good !!!!
VERY GOOD CHICKEN and Mac and Cheese. I was surprised. I'm pretty sure it's cooked with an air fryer because it was super crispy and not oily. The mac and cheese is the southern way..which I appreciate. and the corn fritters was like a sweet hush puppy. I took my food home and ate it with some collard green I had in the fridge and it was perfect! Orange County doesn't have any soul food places so this is the closest we're gonna get. I'll be back on my next cheat day!
I ordered the Nashville hot with some fries. Everything was amazing. Will definitely go again. The place was very clean as well.
Got the Nashville hot chicken, mac, and fried pickles. The medium spice level was a little hotter than I expected, but just the right amount. Mac and cheese was creamy and exactly what you're looking for in a side and the fried pickles have a nice crispy battery on the outside without being greasy. Will definitely be back here!
I tried Cluck Kitchen for the first time and it was incredible! I got the three chicken tenders, fried pickles, and corn fritters. The worker at the counter was great, he helped me pick the spicy level (mild, so glad I didn't go any hotter!) and suggested the Comeback sauce with the Nashville chicken, which was the perfect combo. The ranch that came with the pickles and whatever white sauce came with the corn fritters were both crazy good too. If you like fried foods and dipping sauce like me you'll love this place. Fried pickles were good but the corn fritters were the stars (after the tenders of course!). The tenders were so massive I struggled to fit them in the dipping sauce contains, which was a good problem to have. I can't wait to go back!
Pregnancy craving for spicy food. Beyond expectation for spicy level 🌶(I order hot level and it s super hot for me, quality of burger(huge pieces 2 layer of chicken) and quantity of French fried (huge box that should be share with extra 2 friends). Will go back again and try chicken tender.
Best fried chicken I've ever had in my life and I've traveled all over. Cluck has juicy, flavorful chicken. I love that the Nashville hot is actually insanely spicy. I don't love their sauces and I do think it's a bit over priced for a fast food restaurant but it's so good. I always stop by here anytime in in OC. I love the nugget meal and the waffle fries are fire. I've introduced this place to so many ppl.
Great food! So delicious. The chicken breast was huge. I loved the intensely fried exterior juxtaposed against the JUICY meat on the inside. Fantastic, helpful kid at the counter. Great location. I missed the fritters/hush puppies and that's actually why I went . I would highly recommend this place 😋👌🏽👏🏽
Had this earlier. It was really good. I love spicy food and the extra hot did not disappoint. If you're not into spicy food I recommend not getting it you'll be begging for a cold cup of water. Definitely will be making the trip out here again to get another chicken sandwich and mac n cheese.
Ordered online and ate in the shaded dining area outside. Got a 8 buffalo wing combo. Waffle fries were good. Quality of the chicken was very good. Buffalo sauce was a little over salty but not too bad. I would come back if im in the area and in the mood for quick wings
Stopped here for a quick bite before heading to John Wayne. Great waffle fries. Way better than the chain that’s closed on Sunday. Got a 3 piece tender meal. More than I can eat. The tenders are nice cuts from breast meat. No processing. Great spice on the Nashville medium. Cooked perfect. Great little chicken spot. Nice outdoor seating with shade.
Amazing food, don't underestimate the spiceness. I'm a person who can usually handle a lot of spice, keyword here, usually. When I come here I always get the medium, which I found hot but not enough. So when I came today I got the Nashville hot, big mistake. I've never been in so much pain from a chicken tender, my lips are red, my eyes are watery, my nose is runny, and my body is shutting down. Milk does nothing to help, overall amazing food though.

The Nashville chicken sandwich is good. The fries are pretty good considering they're cottage fries. Piping hot food! They do offer plain tenders with no spice for those who can't eat spicy.
They delivered the spice. Burger was well put together as chicken was on the bottom and that is the spicy part. A bit too big for me to take like a single bite but hey, more spice. Only downsides for me. Not enough spice to make me die die. And also, just ain't the biggest fan or burgers. It's one of the better burger I have had though
Cluck’s fried chicken may have the best “Nashville” fried chicken in OC. I understand the weight of this statement. Here’s the thing. We went to several fried chicken places to compare and Cluck’s is juicy, crispy, and flavorful from inside and out…oh, and the heat - so, regardless of how hot you like it, the spiciness with Cluck’s always packs extra yumminess and doesn’t just leave a sting… Other pros: The employees are always great. Plenty of parking. Food doesn’t take too long. The only con is their hours. For a fried chicken place to close at 7pm…everyday of the week, what’s up with that? The only other con (okay, okay, this one is from my end) is we haven’t uploaded pics of the delicious fried chicken. We keep eating it all before we get the pics :( But, go. They are worth it.
Generously sized chicken sandwiches, one of the best in town. Creative sides such as hush puppies. You could split the chicken sandwich. Go here before Dave’s. Only downside, they close early.
The Nashville hot sandwich is spicy and messy like it should be. I ordered it "hot" and it delivered on its promise without overdoing it. There are two heat levels above that and I'm not sure most people would enjoy that much heat.
Nashville Hot chicken joint that's not life changing but okay for a quick bite. They offer several hot levels with the reaper being the highest. I got medium and it thought it wasn't that bad; could have gone for one level higher. They have an assortment of sauces that will complements the sandwiches. I didn't think their Aioli was as it was in the pictures fyi.
First time trying it and i got the classic sandwich and they’re huge!! It can feel a lil bit dry because the meat is very thick but the meat is pretty juicy and it doesnt make me feel sick like what i would usually feel after eating junk foods. Also love they’re waffle fries! But i wish they use a smaller box for the sandwiches, i feel like its a waste using a big box. Update: after 6 months, i tried the nashville mild one and it’s just the perfect spice level for me who cant handle very spicy food. But unfortunately, i feel like the portion got smaller. I remember the first time i tried it it was very huge it cant fit in my mouth.
While the total price for tenders, a drink, and fries is a little high for my broke college student wallet, I have no other complaints. The Nashville hot chicken always has a great kick to it, the tenders are huge, and they always have a nice crunch. If you're into hot chicken, this is definitely the spot to check out.
Really great place for fried chicken! Got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the waiter definitely warned me on how spicy that would be. It was pretty spicy, but really good! Wish I had taken pictures, but well, kinda hard when you're crying trying to hold back your snot as you remind yourself how good this sandwich is Will definitely take photos next time! Going for their spiciest level
Here is the overall review…I have ordered food from here several times. Tye quality of food and the taste has beef great except for 1 time when I ordered food on a Sunday around 3 or 4 PM. The chicken on my sandwich was not fresh. It was cold and staled, but other than the one occasion, the sandwiches have been consistently excellent. I have tried the waffle cut fries a few times, and I have not been impressed. Also the business hours are very limited even on the weekends. I have attempted to take my family there a few times, and we have never made. Overall I DO recommend Cluck Kitchen. The food is good and if you’re into spicy chicken sandwiches, you’ll enjoy their spicy choices…
Got the Nashville chicken with their hottest spices (Get Clucked). The breast is cooked very well and the batter is nice. Interesting to note that the breast is almost the same size as the bun as opposed to other places I've been where the breast is much larger. Dinged for that. The spice was good but certainly not as hot as other places I've been. Keep in mind I eat very spicy foods so if you don't beware. The fried pickles are awesome! Cooked perfectly with wonderful sauce. The pickles have a deep flavor that goes well with the fried chicken. The Cluck sauce (homemade honey mustard) is delightful as is their default sauce for the pickles. Staff was nice, informed of their products, and efficient. They have a nice soda machine where you have plenty of options. I went with Barqs Cream Soda.
So I am honestly surprised! Last time I came about a year ago was not great AT ALL! But today today ! They redeemed themselves 👏🏽👏🏽 we got jumbo tenders they were mmm good. Also got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I added cheese and took out the pickles and got mild heat, it was really REALLY GOOD!! Super happy with what they put out ! Also hot Mac n cheese it was ok it lacked a bit of flavor and was also a little on the greasy side. Also, got the corn fritters and those were good with sour cream !
Came to get some chicken sandwiches for dinner. I got the medium hot which had a nice kick to it but wasn’t enjoyable. They use a dry rub, which is really tasty. The chicken breast was juicy. You have to use your box to let all the juices fall on your fries. staff was friendly. We were in there late and they didn’t kick us out and let us know they were gonna turn off the fountain machines if we wanted to refill although everything was really tasty and the service was great. I was a little surprised when I got the check. It was about $70 for three people,And they charged me for ranch. I have a little bit of pet peeve against having to pay for condiments. Overall, the food was really delicious. I would give this place a five star review if I didn’t feel it was a little bit high on the price scale.
The country fried chicken tenders were delicious, and I really liked the comeback sauce. I was a little disappointed that the fries weren't waffle fries like pictured on the menu, but the other fries were still good. Everything was fresh and super hot. I don't think I'd get the Mama's Mac again, but it wasn't terrible.
The mild spice on the Nashville chicken sandwich can be a tad spicy for some people.
I have tried many hot chicken places and cluck kitchen does not disappoint, crisp outside juicy tender chicken on the inside , I love hot level which contains habanero it is edible without overpowering heat if you into spicy food, great balance on the vinegar within the slaw, and the comeback sauce compliments the heat with sweet. Only advise would be on the breading, it is heavy, could get really greasy, bottom bun soaks up and sandwich ends up a chicken salad with soggy croutons. Overall 4/5 great staff, good food, would recommend.
Love the Nashville hot tenders and sandwich with medium heat. Great flavor and way better than most other places. I only give 4 stars because I wish they fried in a high quality oil/fat like tallow or avocado oil instead of peanut oil. Whenever I crave fried chicken, this is the only place I go to.
This place! So far, favorite fried chicken place in South Orange County! Medium spice is hot (getting mild next time), the loaded fries are WAFFLE fries, and sauces are good. Great portion sizes, and lots of outside seating.
My chicken sandwich tasted good, but was so thick and packed it required a knife and fork. That defeats the concept of a sandwich, because the sauce kept oozing out and the slaw dropped out in clumps. It was a nicely sized portion and the waitstaff were friendly. Parking was very difficult as the lot is too small for the many customers trolling for spots.
Ordered mild spicy tenders as usual. They tasted amazing. Perfectly fried and super flavorful. I got some food poisoning which didn't happen the last time I ate here. My friend also got significantly more cramps for longer than expected for the amount of spicy consumed. I would probably still recommend this place and eat here again... Super busy at lunch time and the parking lot is tight.
Maybe it's because I got delivery but I was not impressed. The cross cut fries were barely cooked and not crispy at all. The white bread was soggy and inedible. The chicken did taste good but the only affordable pieces are the wings with barely any meat. Over priced for what you get, I'll never eat here again
We used to go here all the time for jumbo wings and Nashville hot because it was delicious. The food is still amazing but the service is terrible. Customer service has been horrible, every time we try to call, it goes to an automated machine and it states to stay on the line for an operator but no one has ever answered. It’s been like this for the last fews months. I hope this issue gets sorted because we really love their spicy chicken.
This place should be renamed, “Chicken’s Revenge”! I ordered the chicken tender meal, (From the reviews it seems most people have gone for the the sandwiches) and I also ordered an 1 additional chicken tender. I ordered the country fried Chicken style for the tenders that came with meal but I asked for the extra tender, to be served mild, which is the lowest level you can ask for in the spicy category. I would like to think I have a fairly good heat tolerance and I don’t shy away from hot sauce and spicy food. But if that was mild, I can’t imagine what their regular spicy is. I have to be honest, it was just plain hot! It was hot, with very little flavor to justify the heat! My tongue was just on fire! My stomach is still burning 30 minutes later. Now, again, if it had some flavor, that would justify and complement the heat, maybe I would not complain as much. But this was just put there, for the sake of the burn, like they were trying to avenge the chickens, death! Now the regular tenders, were OK, meaning that it was not spicy at all. But I wish it had more of a balance of flavor. All I could taste was salt which was a bit too much for my liking, and it made it difficult to taste any other flavors that might’ve been there. Though after the chicken, tender cooled down substantially (It is served fresh and hot, cooked to order) I did detect something sweet in the crust that was nice, but again was a bit overpowered by the sodium content. On the positive end I will say that the portion size of the tenders are very generous and filling. Service was polite, and despite being cooked to order, I did not have to wait long for my order. But, again as flavor goes, I don’t know if it justifies the price point I paid for it. I don’t know maybe I should have ordered one the sandwiches? But, that said, unfortunately, I can’t say that, it is a place I would look to return to.
Normally love this place but their new Soy Garlic flavor tasted like garlic tap water. Soda machine also tastes like tap water. Their other Nashville hot flavors are the best though, the chicken is also the best Ive had. Had to throw away the Soy Garlic tenders though, the flavor was making me feel sick
Ordered the 2 tender meals, but didn’t see the fries in the meal until after leaving. So the meals now don’t include fries only a meal mods? Or was this a miss And couldn’t call to ask for confirmation. The chicken is still great, but without fries in a meal is unusual.
Salty. Very very salty. I wanted to like this place. One night I saw the owners come in and do a deep cleaning and was impressed by that so I made it a point to try this place. Well. Loaded fries were a load of salt and the sauce was oily or?? Tasted like mayonnaise with an attempt at seasoning. Very heavy. Ps. It’s time again for the deep cleaning especially your soda machine filters.
The food is good, but you can't customize anything. Also, no options to order ahead and they form lines inside the store. Pretty unforgivable for COVID. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted spicy chicken but passed because of this. Update: Years later they've finally added online ordering... With massive up-charges for the convenience. Wow, thanks Cluck Kitchen.
We each tried the original country fried chicken and while it was edible, it was VERY over fried. It’s a dark brown color as opposed to the photos of light brown. The inside lost juices since it’s over cooked. The ranch and fries were good. Would I eat here again? Probably not.. I can see how it would taste good if they didn’t over fry the food.
The portion sizes and customer service was great. Their fries and drinks were good. However their chicken sandwich was tough and fell apart. They definitely don’t know how to make sweet tea and their fried pickles weren’t great. Heard a lot of hype about this place but wasn’t worth more then a 20 minute drive.
Got really excited by seeing all the reviews that compared the place with popeyes and howlin ray's(I tried both). Tried their classic cluck and Nashville sandwiches. Chicken is under cooked and chewy. Couldn't taste anything except the chilli powder. Probably my timing is bad. Surprisingly, their sweet corn fritters are very good.
Pros: Really nice cashier lady, crispy juicy chicken Cons: 20+ minute wait for 2 sandwiches and maybe 3 people in the store, cold bread??, to go not in any boxes or protection
Only reason for a 3 is because when you order Jumbo tenders they have 9-10 flavors... and they have 2-3 and 4 pack but for some reason you cant mix flavors in the meal... whats the problem being able to mix them in one order... this makes no sense youre obligated to order one flavor for multiple tenders or buy them individualy... not able to mix is just bad buisness ... was a 3 dropped ot to a 2 star because you dont even get a dipping sauce you have to pay for it... isnt atleast one of them complimentary shm
Salado.
Saw an ad on TikTok and really wanted to try this place. Looked really good. I ordered two chicken tenders close to the end of the day. They were extremely stringy and overcooked. The coleslaw was OK But I was really bummed that I paid that much money for what was supposed to be a higher end chicken product. I asked the staff that was cleaning up if they had toothpicks, and he said no. Then I told him that the chicken was really stringy and tough. His response was oh, and then he turned and walked away. Maybe they just have too much business, or maybe at the end of the day everyone was just tired. Thinking Back about it I probably should’ve just taken them back up to the counter after the first bite and asked for my money back. That’s too bad. I wanted to like this place.
Was super excited to try this place but was unbelievably disappointed. We ordered 2 sandwiches and wings. The wings were super chewy and tough. They were gross and we ended up throwing them out. The sandwich was okay - the bun and slaw were good and some parts of the chicken were good but some bites had a little too much of a tough and chewy texture. The chicken felt super low quality. Would probably not go back given how expensive it was.
