Freebirds Irving Reviews
My first time ever! Julian is the BEST. Regardless of how much he earns now, GIVE THAT GENTLEMAN A RAISE immediately! I'll be back
I don’t know the manager personally, but that guy is the nicest man ever always super sweet and accommodating Plus, I lost my French dip cup for about three days found it upside down and it still hadn’t spilled so that’s a positive for me!
I remember when the first Texadelphia opened on The Drag in Austin. I’d walk over from work at Stucchie’s Ice Cream & Yogurt and treat myself to a Philly cheesesteak with mustard sauce, chips, and salsa. It was always a special stop back then—and honestly, it still is today. Same great flavors, same comfort-food vibe, and a lot of great memories wrapped into one sandwich.
Delicious food. I had the Austin Hippie with chicken. Very large portions, great flavor on the meat & everything seemed quite fresh
I originally started going to Texadelphia in the early 2000’s in Houston & was pleasantly surprised to see one here in Austin. The food was what I remember - great! I love their queso and salsa (which are both made from scratch) as well as the mustard sauce for the sandwiches. Also, the owner has been there during both my visits. He has always asked if everything was good and if there’s anything he can do better. That’s probably why his location is still in business. Definitely worth visiting for a delicious cheesesteak with good portions at a reasonable price.
Texadelphia was my favorite back in college! Great burgers and waffle fries and a good value. A fine way to fix your hangover after a long night out. I need to get back over here soon!
Definitely worth eating here. The food was great, the best fried pickles we've ever had. The service was spectacular!
We haven't had Texadelphia in probably 5 years because there aren't any near us. We had to go to Austin today so we knew where we were going for lunch. They didn't disappoint. Hands down the best hospitality I've seen anywhere lately. Food was as good as I remembered it. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Texadelphia is an old Austin mainstay and there used to be several of them around town. I think this is the only one left unfortunately. The food here is excellent, I wish it wasn’t all the way on the other side of town now I hope this one does not go the way of the others and close.
We’re so excited texadelphia is back! We’ve lamented them being gone as we still have cravings so when this reopened we were SO happy. So tasty. Best cheesesteak there is. I recommend the chicken founders favorite (mushrooms, onion, jalapeño, & mustard blend) I do wish yall would stop using styrofoam for the drink cups tho & give those bathrooms some work. Other than that - I love texadelphia!
Hands down the best Philly cheesesteak in Austin. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming, very clean and neat place and environment. The food was absolutely delicious, their freshly baked chips and salsa was one of the best ones I’ve had in Austin. Experience it for yourself, I can assure you that you will be glad you did.
Mmmm I moved away from Texas a few years ago and I haven’t had a cheesesteak as good as Texadelphia since. I’ve been craving it for a year so I made sure to eat here over Christmas. The prices have gone up but it was so worth it! I ordered the cheesesteak with mushrooms and smothered it with the mustard blend. OMG YUM!
Cheese steak was good. Wings not so much. Employees were extremely nice and helpful. Place was clean. Prices were ok.
Can’t get enough of the mustard sauce! So good! But even the mustard sauce could not help the onion rings. The Philly is one of the best in town with a generous portion of beef, perfectly sautéed onions & mushrooms. The side dishes need some help though. Homemade fries maybe ? The included tortilla chips and upgrade to Sysco fries are both a waste of money unless I use them to eat more mustard sauce. Which is really good though!
Customer service was wonderful. Very clean restaurant. We also drove an hour from where we live to have Texadelphia and see if it was as great as Houston’s. Food was just as we thought Delicious, but they didn’t have the marinated pepperoni sandwich. They did have pepperoni’s and added some, but no maranera sauce. The drive was still worth it.
The sandwiches were decent but there was just something off about the special Mustard blend. The service was great, super friendly staff, not super busy.... But a little pricey. I got a 6 inch with waffle fries and an iced tea and my husband got a 12 inch same sides. It was $50!!!! For sandwiches!!! Don't send the money, it definitely wasn't worth $50!!!
