O'Desi Aroma Irving Reviews
Loved the food here - very good and unique flavors compared to the monotonous cooking styles becoming more and more common in the DFW area. The chicken Chilli and vindaloo were our favorite This location seems to be well run, the staff was polite and prompt with service. The restroom was very clean. Great to see a well run establishment.
Thank you to Kathy for recommending me some good stuff. I walked in spur of the moment to grab some lunch even though i really only came by to go to nothing bundt cake. I asked her to recommend me a dish. I was eager to try something way out of my Indian food norm. She suggested dabba chicken was yummy! I don't think I could compare the taste to any American dish to give you an idea of how it tastes but it's a curry dish. If you like curry dishes try it. Came here twice for it within two days. Ha! In my previous review when I came here about 2 years ago just for naan to go with leftover Indian food bought elsewhere , I said the garlic naan was lacking in full flavor. Sadly I now still agree. I've had much better elsewhere. I don't know what it is about theirs. Anyway the very next day I came back and got the dabba again, i went with cheese naan instead. I like it much better. I also got the dabba in a combo this time instead and tried dal makhani for the first time. I enjoyed it. To other Americans not familiar but curious as to the flavor ...it's a lentils and beans dish. The closest thing I could say it tastes like is a warm bowl of kidney bean chili... yummm.definitely not as chunky. No meat in it, and more blended up. I'd say try it if you like chili.
5 on 5 for service! The girl at the counter is very friendly and patient, suggested good dishes. The manchurian was little uncoooked at first but the girl made sure we got cooked and spicy manchurian, paneer and Naan was flavorful as well
I've been to "O'Desi Aroma" a couple of times, and the food has consistently tasted great, earning a solid 4/5 from me till date. However, my recent visit was particularly memorable thanks to a new waitress who also doubled as the front desk assistant. She was exceptionally polite and made a fantastic suggestion: the "Dabba Chicken." It tasted absolutely amazing, and I loved it so much that it will probably become my go-to option. The service was top-notch, thanks to this attentive and friendly new staff member. Her recommendation added a delightful twist to my usual dining experience. The tables were clean, though there was a slight dissatisfaction due to an oily, gummy touch on the surfaces. Despite this minor issue, the overall ambiance of the restaurant was cool and enjoyable. It's worth noting that "O'Desi Aroma" is a bit on the expensive side, but the quality of the food and the pleasant atmosphere make it worth it. Special thanks to the new staff member for enhancing my dining experience with her excellent service and great food recommendation. I look forward to coming back and trying more dishes, but the "Dabba Chicken" has certainly set a high bar for my future visits!
Just wow. Everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the samosa and the chatte. For entrees, we got chicken Tikka masala, paneer butter masala, paneer spinach curry, garlic naan, butter naan, and vegetable biryani. We over ordered for 3 people but have no regrets. We got to try so many different dishes and enjoyed them all.
Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Irving. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing. We order catering order and everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we got for catering order from o Desi aroma. Highly recommend!
Been this place for a lot a time. Everytime they do maintain a standard and their taste. The environment is really nice, the manager is friendly and helpful, the staffs are nice also. The restaurant is nice and clean. They also offer combo for lunch, also tried their most of the entries and Kebabs, they're really good. Definitely will recommend if you're looking for a Halal restaurant.
This restaurant has always been our family’s first choice. My kids especially love it, and we make sure to visit at least once every month. The taste is consistently very good, and the vegetarian dishes especially the curries are always our preferred and safest options. However, the chicken curries have been disappointing, as the chicken quality is not as good as expected. On the positive side, the appetizers are really delicious and worth trying every time.Overall, we truly enjoy this place, but improving the quality of chicken in the curries would make the experience even better.
The food was well prepared and the service was excellent. I had the chicken biryani, and it was perfect—not overly spicy at all. The Indo-Chinese dishes were also great and definitely worth trying.
The ambiance of the restaurant is truly exceptional, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The decor is tasteful, and the service is top-notch, contributing to a very pleasant dining experience. However, the spice level of the dishes falls short of authentic South Indian cuisine. As someone who grew up savoring the bold and robust flavors typical of South Indian food, I found the spice levels here to be quite mild and not representative of the traditional taste. While the food is undoubtedly well-prepared and flavorful, it lacks the fiery kick and depth of spices that are characteristic of genuine South Indian fare. For those seeking a true South Indian culinary experience, this might be a bit of a letdown. Nonetheless, it's a great place to enjoy a meal if you're looking for a comfortable setting and milder flavors.
I’ve been here twice i’ve had the butter chicken masala and the lamb vindaloo they are both very good very fresh I love the spice levels and the naan is some of the best I’ve had in a long time. It’s a clean establishment the only gripe I have is that the mango lassi isn’t prepared fresh (made to order) The drink is good but it could be better. The staff is very friendly. It takes time for them to prepare the food so you shouldn’t be in a rush if you’re going to eat in the restaurant. They have takeout too. The samosas are to die for. I’ll be back to try the chicken tikka masala.
I hate to say it but this place was a let down. Ordered to go chicken tikka masala and chicken 65. The tikka masala didn’t have a lot of taste, was very oily, the chicken pieces had a bland boiled taste to it. Nothing about it resembled any other tikka masala I’ve had. The chicken 65 tasted like super fried orange chicken, again lacking any flavor. The garlic naan was a little slimy, felt like it was frozen naan with some garlic sauce smeared on it. I was hopeful this place would be better since close to my home. The service and decor were great though.
The curry was pretty good but tasted almost like a thick chili. The rice however was gross, I've had a lot of Biriyanis and this it's by far the worst. It has a sauce to it and it was not good. We were the only 2 people on a Saturday evening and the food came out within 5 minutes of ordering.
I came here expecting a solid North Indian meal, but the Paneer Butter Masala was a massive letdown. It was the worst I’ve had in the USA—the gravy was atrocious, way too tangy, and lacked any balanced flavor. The consistency was also off; it was far too liquid and had no real taste. While the Garlic Naan was okay, it couldn’t save a dish this poorly executed.
We ordered veg noodles one is spicy and other is regular ..but we got noodles with full of oil attached pics..and also noodles were not spicy because of over oil .this is so pathetic service and my whole family and both children could not have proper food and it ruined our family dinner mood..
