Ittadi Garden & Grill Jackson Heights Reviews
Had a wonderful dine-in lunch with one of my children today. The food was outstanding—we enjoyed an assortment of Bhorta, the Shrimp with Spinach, and of course, the Mustard Ilish. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, authentic, and 'clean.' I even grabbed a variety of appetizers to take home for the rest of the kids! The atmosphere was so peaceful, and our server, Henna, was absolutely lovely—so caring and attentive throughout our meal. Highly recommend!
This place is one of my favorite places to visit when I’m in New York. They always have a great selection of bangla delights ready to serve. I’ve always only seen a line up and insane repeat customers. Dine in service is fast. One of the greatest bangla spot to dine in the continent. Highly recommend
Ittadi in Jackson Heights is one of those spots where you walk in and immediately feel like you stepped into a true Bengali food hall. They have a huge array of dishes everything from fresh seafood to lamb, goat, and multiple types of biryani. The variety is honestly impressive. The flavors are bold and authentic, and you can tell the food is made for people who really know and love Bengali cuisine. Whether you’re craving something spicy, something rich, or something comforting, there’s always a dish that hits the spot. It’s a great place to come hungry, try different things, and get a real taste of Bangladesh right here in NYC. Highly re
Hallal Food, Excellent, We had lunch at Ittadi in Jackson Heights recently — there were five of us — and it was a really satisfying experience. The restaurant is located right on 37th Road, in the heart of the Bangladeshi and South Asian community in Queens, and it’s a popular spot for good reason. The moment we walked in, the place felt busy but welcoming. The setup is casual, more like a diner or cafeteria-style restaurant, but the service was fast and the staff were friendly. We didn’t have to wait long to find seating even with our group. The menu has a wide range of authentic Bangladeshi dishes — from biryani and curries to kababs and traditional sweets. Between the five of us, we tried chicken biryani, beef curry, shingara, chicken roast, and daal — everything was flavorful and cooked just right. The beef curry and the biryani were definitely standouts. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable considering the quantity and taste. We also tried a few sweets afterward — roshogolla and misti doi — which were fresh and a great way to end the meal. It honestly felt like home-cooked food, and everyone in our group agreed that we’d come back again. If you're in Jackson Heights and craving authentic Bangladeshi food in a no-fuss setting, Ittadi is definitely worth a visit. It's perfect for both a quick bite or a relaxed lunch with friends or family. Highly recommended for the taste, value, and variety!
Wow! This place is great. I've been coming here for years, but never took the time to write a review. If you're looking to get your Bangladeshi fix, there's no place better in Jackson Heights. Food (5/5): Everything is great here. We got an assortment of food from borthas (where are tasty, but spicy, and come with in great varieties) to kebabs to fish and chicken roast. I'm Bangladeshi American, and even for me this place ranks high. Ambiance (4/5): For Jackson Heights, this place is clean, well kept, and open with plenty of seating. The seating is comfortable and will accommodate any party size Service (5/5): It's very informal here. We just flagged a staff member and started ordering. They're very good about keeping orders and items on track. Food came promptly. Overall, would recommend this place for sure and I know I'll be back!
Bengali Cuisine at it's finest... although it was a bit busy right before the shop closed down to observe the breaking of fasting due to Ramadan. The staff really took care of us. The food was absolutely amazing! Will be making a return to try more of the dishes... cleanliness in the restrooms lack a little, other than that, this spot is a hidden gem.
Super impressed after our maiden visit. Satisfies a craving if you are from Bengal - both east (Bangladesh) and west (West Bengal, India). We went as a family, and found the family seating area to be spartan yet welcoming. There wasn’t a menu - walk over to the counter and pick what you want to order. The roomali rotis are a must have. Aloo bhaja, dal were decent. Beef bhuna, mutton biryani, malai kebabs were all flavorful and freshly prepared - the high turnover rate guarantees nothing is a “left over” offering. The grocery store attached to the restaurant makes it a dinner and grocery trip, covering both with one parking. Parking can get a little involved and stressful - was not able to find a good parking lot nearby. Happy to return again.
Very good and an affordable spot to buy food on the budget under $10. I go there roughly every few weeks. A worker who served me was welcoming and patient in picking and packing out my fried chicken and vegetable samosa without any problems. While my service there was fine, I didn’t like what I witnessed for another customer who expected his service to be nothing but the same. Another worker was rude when he asked for fried chicken more than three times. The customer was still not being heard that other customers repeated “fried chicken” for him as he was getting upset and frustrated of not being heard when he stated it clearly and appropriately that it became embarrassing. Only when his reaction of being upset to the worker was justified, she (the worker) gets moody and disrespectful by supposedly hitting the bagged fried chicken on the customer service counter in handing him his food. I mean, why was that action to the customer necessary? She shouldn’t work in the restaurant with that kind of behavior.
The only thing I ordered here was the Dal Puri, to go. It was very good. The price was good. The place is super clean and spacious. They seem to have lots of different food options. Unfortunately the person that was at the register was super rude. I think when you're in the hospitality industry, you need to leave your bad mood outside the door. I would like to try other things there but I was extremely put off by the rudeness.
We went to Ittadi for a Ramadan iftar. We arrived 25 minutes before sunset, got lucky to get some seat, as the place was almost full. Our spot was in the attic, not sure if it was temporary. So we were sitting alongside all the storage, boxes and all other items around us. We got the iftar platter that came with biryani, dates, fruits, haleem, few fried items and kebabs. I liked the biryani and couple of fried items. Rest were ordinary to me. I also got the chicken biryani and roast separately. They didn’t give me any egg with my biryani, so I was little disappointed. But the roast was fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised to see all the Bangladeshi dishes that cooked. It had all the popular bhajis, bhortas, Rupchada, Ilish, nehari, beef and chicken items. There were several types of rice and biryani dishes too. They also had lots of dessert items like sweets, doi and lassi. Hopefully I’ll be back someday to try some of these items.
Food was okay but the cashier (not all of them) needed to lose the bad attitude. She was unnecessarily rude to my friend. The service was average as well. They need better management for customer service. Even though I tipped the server cash, they still charged me for tips when I paid with my credit card! So basically I double tipped them! I didn't realize it until I came home. They just robbed me. Don't think I will go back there.
I purchased $3 peyaju $3 beguni and 2 shrimp tempura and one 1pb jelBee and one chicken roll. But unfortunately they didn’t have me peyaju and they took money from me. And even though they didn’t provide me a receipt also. How come they took more money from me and missed my items…!
****BE AWARE OF FOOD POISONING***** this place is not what it was once. It used to be to one of THE best restaurant who served fresh & delicious food, sadly this is the case anymore. While their food tastes a little better compared to most restaurants, however be aware of the after effects of foodpoisoning.
The food was not very good, and I was surprised to see a 15% service charge added automatically to the bill. The restaurant should inform customers clearly before adding this fee. For the quality of the meal, the service charge didn’t feel reasonable. I hope they improve both the food and the transparency of their pricing.
They are above the law, A hungry person does not see on the wall to pay the gratuity15%for a person to Dine in there. Be careful if you have a limit money, don’t go there. I request to government to watch it.force fully gratuity 15% just dining.
