Cocina Michoacana Jackson Reviews
The food here is incredible. We always go out of our way to enjoy a meal here whenever we visit Yosemite. This trip we discovered they have dessert and it is really fantastic. I 100% recommend you make a stop.
Great food and service. It was pretty quiet when we arrived. Grateful vibes and chips and salsa were good. Im from AZ and would have liked a little more heat but all in all great experience
I had a good experience at this restaurant. They had good food, and clean restrooms which I highly appreciate. They also have free wifi. Kinda imp in the national park areas
I was not expecting to have authentic Mexican food in a little mountain town like that. Might have been the best chicken mole I’ve had at a restaurant. It was so tender.
Mexican food at its finest. I was so impressed by the burrito I received. Been eating burritos for 41 years now and it's quite accomplishment being able to get one from here and without hesitation, claiming it as quite possibly the best burrito I ever had. The staff was so friendly and everything was authentic. Very cozy atmosphere, clean, and they use fresh ingredients! I will be returning quite frequently every time I get the urge for quality Mexican food.
Best authentic Mexican food I have EVER had no matter what I chose to order! A little pricey but we'll worth it! Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Definitely worth stopping by on your way to or from Yosemite.
ABSOLUTELY delicious! Sometimes dining in a small town is a hit or miss. You're kind of stranded in an area and because of that it seems like the food can either be delicious or just so-so because they know there are no other option around. This food was amazing. Large portions, very good quality, and amazing service. I would definitely eat here again if I'm ever back in the area.
So my bf and I debated whether to leave a review. He said no, because the place was so fire he didn't want Karens discovering it and driving the quality down with their screeching for whitewashed slop. I said yes, because they're a local establishment and might go under if they don't get sufficient business. So we looked at the reviews as of today, all those 3 star reviews are from basic ppl, ordering basic food, and then complaining its basic. Service was great, we asked for house recommendations. This place is masterfully good. We hit this place twice in two days, and were not hike starved. We ordered Chile Verde, Rice and Beans, Chiles Rellenos. The Rellenos egg stuff was perfect: fluffy, not heavy. Cheese balanced. Portions were large. Go here, and order something not basic. Enjoy!
No joke…this was one of the best Mexican meals I’ve ever had. Maybe it had something to do with having spent the previous 4 days in the woods, but even so…the food was great, the service was friendly & welcoming, and the vibe was perfect. If you’re staying in Groveland, this place is a must!
My second time having this for my dinner here, with the shredded pork. I've also had the fish tacos, and a few other entrees. Nothing disappoints! Highly recommend! 9. OUESADILLA TARASCA An 8 inch round quesadilla, served with your choice of meat, topped with 2 sunny side eggs, poblano cream sauce, melted monterey and pico de gallo.
5 Stars – Authentic Mexican Delight in Grooveland on the Way to Yosemite! We stopped by Cocina Michoacana in Groveland while heading to Yosemite National Park, and it turned out to be a perfect surprise! The food was absolutely delicious — We had the grilled chicken with green salsa, served with flavorful rice for my 3 year old kid and Pork & Chicken Burrito for us. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked just right. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. It's the ideal stop for a hearty, authentic Mexican meal before or after your Yosemite adventure. Highly recommend this spot — we’ll definitely be back next time!
A fantastic little hidden gem on the way in or out from Yosemite. Cocina Michoacana is a heavy authentic piece of Mexico worth driving to. Offers an extensive and well selected menu of the best traditional Mexican dishes. If you’re staying in Yosemite, do yourself a favour and drive to this spot for an amazing meal and fantastic views on the way.
This is a wonderful find while on vacation. The people are amazing. The place is cute, quaint and clean. Better yet, the food is the best I've ever had. Must mention that this is the first Mexican restaurant that I've ever been able to order a burrito and a taco together with beans and rice on a plate.
I stopped in at 3pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t too busy. By the time I got my food the other three groups had left and I had the place to myself. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and the food was served quick and hot. Complimentary chips and salsa (the salsa was flavorful with a little heat) bottled coke and I ordered the tofu a la Mexican and an a la carte crispy potato taco too (requested no cheese on either item to make it vegan). The only thing I’ll do differently next time is request some guacamole on my taco or on the side.
Very delicious! I was here in 2017 the first time and it's still awesome. Everyone was helpful and friendly. If you don't know what to eat, ask. I am not an expert for Mexican food, but the meat, the sauces, the rice, and the beans were very delicious! Don't forget to take the Churros as dessert (it's enough to share)! :-)
Awesome people, very friendly and professional, when you see the place from outside, you won’t believe its that comfy and clean and convenient from inside..amazing food , reasonable prices and great seafood options, the only thing That disappointed me little bit , is that they have only 1 kind of fish which is Basa 🥴which is not healthy and not great option to eat . But i was still able to enjoy the shrimp which was soooo good 👌👌👌👌👌❤️
This is a little eatery on the main street of Groveland. The restaurant features authentic Mexican fare which will delight your taste buds. The owners are trying to provide great food at good prices. We enjoyed our meals and hope you will too.
Solid Mexican spot in Groveland. The food wasn't mindblowing by any means, but definitely hit the spot after a day of hiking. I got the chicken mole which was decent. Large portions, and was able to do a takeout order. Overall happy with the experience!
Stopped by for a quick to-go order on the way to Yosemite. There is a to-go window you can order from inside, along with a few tables for dine in as well past the window. They also do have a bathroom in the back, which is nice. We ordered the areial style supremo burrito with beef. I didn't know it was actually a wet burrito until opening the box, but it was still good! There was a decent kick or spiciness, but I would still rank it as a solid mild. There was a good amount of fried jalapeños, which was nice. I do wish there was slightly more meat and a larger burrito. It also came with chips and salsa on the side.
Everything here was good, nothing great, but it got the job done. We ordered the chips and salsa (not standard) to start, and the flour chips kind of reminded us of wonton strips. Different, but good! We then got the tamales and chimichanga for dinner and again, everything was just fine. Server was very friendly and quick while juggling multiple tables at once.
If I can give this restaurant a zero stars I would it was a horrible experience. We waited a lot for us to order something and then when we order, we wait for our food an hour and 15 minutes and when we try the food that taste was disgusting my boyfriend Order a burrito and that burrito looks like someone threw up on it. I order enchiladas with carne asada, cheese and mole. The enchiladas taste more like onions instead of cheese or Carne Asada. You are not allowed to whine or say anything or else you have to pay $10 extra because you didn’t like the food. It was a horrible experience. I’m never coming back.
