B Mac Buffet Jacksonville Reviews
The food here is absolutely delicious! They offer a great selection of vegetables, and their fried chicken is top-tier—better than Lemon Pepper's. The shrimp, both fried and Cajun grilled, was incredibly flavorful. The owner is hands-on, bussing tables and ensuring the restaurant stays spotless. The overall experience was fantastic, and we’ll definitely be returning. P.S. They get packed on Sundays and even ran out of food—a true testament to how well-seasoned and perfectly prepared everything is!
This place is great! Loved my meal here. I will be back!

Visited today and the food was fantastic! Very fresh, hot, seasoned well, good variety. It’s not a huge buffet, but we went at lunch and there were still a lot of options, to the point where I didn’t get to try everything that looked really good before getting too full. They also have a super fresh salad bar which my husband enjoyed very much. Only downside is that there’s no off-the-bone chicken options. Servers were very nice and attentive. B-Mac’s started in my hometown of Waycross and is very popular there, so I’m happy we have one closer by now. Definitely didn’t disappoint!
After hearing about this place, my sister in law and I decided to try. This is a Black-owned restaurant. The manager is very personable, nice, and courteous. The food was so fresh and delicious. Reminded me of my mom’s soul food cooking. The staff is friendly and helpful. Customer service was great. Thank you for a great dinner. We will be returning and bringing guests.
Just had lunch today 3/6/25 and it was 5 stars! I ate too much because the food was all so good. Best value in town for 14 bucks with a drink and home made dessert. The server's where a little over overwhelmed but they are still brand new and we'll have their kinks worked out very soon. Best fried chicken I have had in awhile. Huge and juicy wings on Thursday.
No need to get fancy with your clothes, this is a very relaxed atmosphere. The choices of food were plentiful and it was well seasoned. Prices are reasonable . We went on a Wednesday and for 2 people it was only 28 dollars and that does include the drink. Customer service was on point as well! So, if you are out and about and want to get get something satisfying to eat stop in at B-Mac’s. You will not be disappointed!
One of the best deals in Northern Florida. Everybody's kind and friendly and inviting. Food is very good. Service is top flight. All the cooks interact with you as well. The bonus is that they play Gospel music so the atmosphere is all love!!!
I eat lunch here pretty much everyday. i enjoy the food, the staff and the atmosphere. the only thing that’s missing is access to the guest wi-fi. i work from home and i’ve been having to use all my hotspot on my phone to stay online for work

My husband and I ventured in here, for a little lunch date. I will say the food was wonderful! Staff is super friendly. It is really busy so get everything you want first time through the line because getting back in the line can be difficult. Pricing was fair we will definitely be back!

We've been to B Mac Buffet in Waycross, GA, plenty of times, and every visit has been excellent—great food, fair pricing, and top-notch service. Now that there's this new location in Jacksonville, I have no doubt it will live up to the same high standards. If you're looking for a place with great food and even better service, this is the spot to go enjoy and relax. Highly recommended!
Now I’m not gonna lie I had preset expectations for this place not sure why but I did and honestly they exceeded expectations! The food taste better than Golden Corral 🤷🏾♀️ the service was great the only thing is I wish they had more of a variety on weekdays. But I understand that they are new and have to do a trial run haven’t been on a weekend yet but will be soon!
Buffet is where cici pizza was and didn’t change the set up so atmosphere was mediocre. Service was great, very welcoming. Food was hot, seasoned very well, and lots of choices! The inside of the place just seemed shabby to me. Plastic silverware and cheap plates.. just needed to be elevated imo. We went during dinner and have heard lunch is not that great so it may matter lunch vs dinner service. Definitely good price for the value and amount of food you can get!

I moved to Jacksonville and year ago and have been searching for a soulfood buffet. I've been here 3 times in 1 week, now a total of 5 as of today. For the most part most of what I ate was amazing especially the fried chicken, but I've experienced a few misses.. The sweet potatoes/ yams were all bland it was like just heating up a raw sweet potato, collard greens had great texture but there was no taste. Cakes are 🔥🔥🔥.. As a dialysis patient i look for the lighter foods due to stomach but out of all the times I've been there I've been feeling for some baked chicken, and never can get some..OH and the mac n cheese can alil more of a grandma's love.. Even though I have a few disagreements I WILL NEVER NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT..

On May 14th, I went for take-out. The cobbler dessert was dried out, so I asked for a fresh dessert. They took forever to set it on the buffet. I decided not to get dessert. When I asked about a drink (which comes with the meal), I was told they did not have lids for the cup and could top the cup with foil. I said no thanks. While sitting the drink on the counter, the attendant spilled the drink which went on my clothing. On May 21st, I returned to the restaurant for take-out and was told they were out of to-go plates. Hmmm. How does this place stay in business? The fried chicken, pork chops, and fish were delicious on one occasion, but the vegetables were bland. My thoughts only!
My friend used to rave about the one in Callahan so I jumped at the chance to dine here as soon as he told me about this location. He was disappointed in the food quality and so was I. The lima beans had no flavor and were watery. The crawfish weren't that well and the fried shrimp was over cooked. The fried chicken was decent and I liked the collards. The mac n cheese was basic. The fried okra was good. There weren't many items to choose from and it was not good enough to go back for multiple plates. Also, the ice water tasted very chlorinated and the water that the lemonade was made with didn't taste clean. I could taste it through the lemonade. I may go back in a few months. The staff were friendly and attentive, that was a plus. I hope they get the food right.
This was my first time visiting along with my 14 year old son, this was on a Wednesday, the food was very bland no color the collards were large leaves food was tasteless except for fried chicken which was okay. The peach cobbler looked as if raw crust was just thrown on top of the filling. I believe in 2nd chances, I will go on a Friday or Saturday hoping the Seafood will be up to par.
Took my family to the Sunday buffet. There is only non pork veggie. The was not much flavor to the dishes itself. If you are looking for flavor this isn’t the place. My daughter did say the salad bar was good.

This was my first time, and most definitely my last. I was not impressed with nothing but the fried chicken. Anytime you are working with food, ALL staff should have on hairnet and gloves. You must constantly wash your hands when you are removing trash/food from the floor before preceding to help a customer. (Waitresses) You can smell food that was spoiled. Please remove items that have dried out or gotten hard from the heat off the buffet Cornbread was like a brick. Dessert looked discussed, just sitting, and no one is getting it. The collards were nasty, mac & cheese wasn't good at all. Grits weren't cooked all the way. Fried oysters were nasty hard and over fried. Shrimp would have been tasty if they batter wasn't so salty. Shrimp fried rice was very nasty, gummy, and tasty sour. I figured with a house full of customer, they may have been okay, but many were complaining and weren't happy either. 1st impression is an everlasting impression. I would never recommend this place to no one. Highly disappointed.
I usually eat at the Callahan location with family, but after work last night I decided to give dunn ave a try even after being warned. Service was great, the price is good but, everything else is bad enough I won't be back. Everything on the buffets was cold and hadn't been refilled in a while. The only good I got was the fresh pan of mac n cheese and the sweet tea. The gravy had been out so long it had coagulated. Fried squash, slimy. Didn't even try to figure out what the dessert was. Like I said, won't be back to this one. VERY BAD for such a reputable restaurant. For you reviewers with bad reviews about this restaurant, might I suggest the one in Callahan or waycross. Well worth the drive.
Service was great out waitress was very good and attentive but that was about the only thing that was good about the restaurant .The only thing that was good was the Chicken everything else was under seasoned except the Lima beans which where very salty ,my husband along with another guest gave the sweet tea back and got lemonade and that was nasty to so he settled for a Pepsi this was our first and last time trying this restaurant . Great concept and I love the idea of a souls food restaurant but they would have to get better cooks
I am very disappointed in the food preparation and presentation. My husband fried chicken was not cooked throughly, the stew beef was days old and stringy they cooked the life out of it and cornbread was rock hard. The only thing good was the worker they were very pleasant and helpful.
Went for lunch on Sunday, March 30, 2025. This was my second time going. They have added a new Buffet Table for the hot foods. However, several of the food items were not even hot (barely warm). The shrimp were good. I also liked the carrot and raisin salad. The rest of the food was very disappointing. So, that was my second and LAST visit. IF THEY HOPE TO STAY IN BUSINESS, THEY BETTER MAKE SOME MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS, AND IMMEDIATELY.
