I haven't had Church's Chicken for over 30 years. The relatively new location in Jacksonville was on my way to work. I decided to give it a try. It was amazing. Biscuits are perfect. They just came out of the oven. They were hot and fresh. The mashed potatoes and gravy have a nice texture and flavor. The fried chicken breast and drum were crispy on the outside and moist and hot on the inside. The lobby is clean and the staff have me a warm greeting. Awesome experience!

This is a great chicken joint. The employees are wonderful people and they're hustling every time I've been there. I actually prefer to go inside vs drive through just to interact with them. Their cole slaw is the best I've had in J'ville.

Everything is great when you go inside and place your order. Don't do the drive thru. I went three times drive-thru and got my order wrong. Other than that the signature hot sauce is great if you are spicy person

This churches chicken seems wierd in passing but if you stop by and eat it's actually amazing. I would mark it as a hidden gem. They have more than just food to offer as well which I find to be small town kindness and quaint. The staff here are so amazing they really go the extra mile for customer service satisfaction and honestly what else could anyone ask for but to be treated like kings and queens. It's just amazing.

Full size chicken tenders! Always hot, and great tasting menu. Staff is efficient, and courteous. Chicken livers and gizzards coming soon to this location. I am spoiled to my Texas Churches chicken, and this one is great.

I have heard that Churches has a reputation for not being very clean. That is not the case for the Jacksonville NC store. The staff is wonderful and the food is heaven sent (pun intended).

The BEST honey biscuits. The BEST flavor on chicken.. mild Spice. The BEST French fries. I LOVE TEXAS. I missed Williams Chicken in Funky Town.

We have long been KFC fans, but thought we'd broaden our horizons. We are glad we did. Chicken was very tasty. Corn and cole slaw on the side were great as well. Counter service was patient and polite. Order was ready in minutes. We will definitely try them again!

I throughly enjoyed eating here. My food was hot, it was fresh, it tasted better than any of the other chicken places in this area. Most of all it was clean. I saw employees washing their hands. Everyone was smiling they were happy they were being appreciated and they were extremely friendly. They provided everything we asked for. Well staffed. I was greeted as soon as I entered and I was greeted as soon as I left with thanks and please come back. This church's chicken is such a major upgrade to the one that was on bell fork Rd. They may be owned by same person I don't know . I just know that I loved it. Thank you guys for the wonderful experience and the great food..

The manager Jermaine working today, was calm, cool and collective. He controlled his team well, was mentoring and was sending his team to check on customers waiting in “Car 1 pull up” drive thru on what they were waiting on. He kept everyone informed. I’ve worked fast food for a while. This guy is legit and his team did not only work for a paycheck, they were mission focused to ensure 100% satisfaction! Thank you Church’s team! It’s been 8 years since I had some and I’m thankful.

The staff was very nice, our order took a little bit to get but the lady was so sweet that she gave us extra tenders on our order because we had to wait a little longer, the food was excellent as always and the store was naturally clean...best chicken in the state😊

I have lived in Jacksonville for 8 years, but never tried Church's. I'm from Wilmington and had tried the one there maybe 3 times, and it was disgusting each time. Greasy balls of salty mush. I am so glad I decided to give this place a try today, despite the somewhat mixed reviews. I went inside and was immediately greeted my the nice young woman behind the counter. Forgot to ask her name but, she was tall and slender. I had a couple questions and she answered pleasantly. Two more orders came in behind me and she was very pleasant and professional with them as well. Those working behind her and at drive thru seemed pleasant as well. The restaurant itself was nice and clean. The chicken was amazing! Fresh and well seasoned. I find most places "spicy" chicken isn't all that spicy, but there's was just right 😋. I also ordered gizzard, which were also tasty. The biscuit they came with was fresh and soft. I don't think the time I waited for my food was unreasonable and she kept me updated on what she was waiting for. I didn't try any sides, but I will return!

This newly built Church's Chicken on Marine Boulevard in Jacksonville,NC, is great. I went through the drive thru. The food was hot and served quickly. The people taking the order and handing it over were polite. My order was correct and packed with care. The flavor of the food was great. The fries taste fresh and bagged separately. The honey biscuits were soft and tasty. The coleslaw was fresh and good. Chicken pieces were a nice size and cooked golden brown.

Every single time I stop in I am greeted with an honest smile & always feel very welcome. This is exactly what the genuine pleasure of a convenience store is meant to be. Theres 110% customer service that the employees always offer; that makes ya feel great & never end up forgetting something that ya really needed & forgot to get while you were there because of all the different frustrating distractions like a number of other gas station/convenience stores often have. **PLUS there's a DRIVE THRU WINDOW for the Church's Chicken Restaurant thats inside the store (which also has a little dining area with 10-15 seats & tables

So I've been in Jacksonville for a few years and I have never eaten here before. Wow it was awesome. The people who were working were so nice and friendly. The chicken was so juicy and delicious. Need I saw the biscuits are super awesome. I'll definitely be going back.

Stopped in to just get a soda but the smell of the Chicken was overwhelming. I ordered a 5 piece Texas Chicken strips & they were Amazing. Hell of a kick to them, with fries & drink was perfect for 2 of us. Service was great as well.

Good fried chicken even after letting it get cold while shopping at Wal-Mart. Was still crispy on outside & juicy on inside. Love that they have fried okra. My daughter's (19) first time trying Church's. Just like I remembered when I used to visit my grandmother (southern continental US) in the summers. Chicken was hot,the biscuits were fresh. Our order was not correct but the service was friendly and came out timely.

The store itself is a little off-putting, but the food is super good. The people that work here are always a really friendly. Never waited more than five minutes to get my food, even for big orders.

The mixed chicken meal that I ordered was good. The chicken and all the sides were freshly cooked. I did not receive my jalepeno pepper in the box that should have been there. Also the left out an entire extra order of fries. The staff was very friendly but trying to work really fast and failing to complete the orders to it's entirety.

Churches chicken is a good piece of fried chicken. There really isn't much of anything better than fried chicken legs from here with the honey bread. They also sell fried shrimp before I had here once but that was a long time ago. They were good also.

Tonight was my first night trying this place!! BABY !! I tried the chicken 🥪 pretty good bread was a little thick compared to chicken still good though. Best fried chicken I've ever had! There is a bit of a wait for the food, but it's more than worth the time. The food is fresh and hot when you get it. Gave them only 4 stars simply because the place is a bit dirty. The building is very old, though, and therefore, probably harder to keep clean. Still, good place to eat!

Nice and fresh. I do find all the keepers going off a litte annoying when dining in. If you like chix livers or gizzards, they make to order! They have incredible options like shrimp, fish. Its not just great chicken.

The food was piping hot. The fried okra were delicious. The honey biscuit is my favorite. I got the original chicken tenders and they had no flavor at all. Despite it being 12:15 right after church let out they had to cook my tenders and okra. I had to wait 10 minutes for my food during what should be the lunch hour and then should be prepared. There weren't many customers so........

This is my second time at this location and I was not as satisfied as it was my first visit. The food seemed rushed and the staff appeared as though on the job training and confusion was occurring simultaneously. I will go back for another visit. My food was over cooked and did not have seasoning when I was able to eat. Simply put two of my chicken parts were burnt.

Used to look forward to coming home to Nc for churches chicken. Not anymore. Just got 6 pieces of chicken after ordering 8. No taste at all. Two stars instead of one, the sides were ok. Second or third time bad experience consecutive. Break updated review I want to mention that I had a better experience today, mostly thanks to a VOLUNTEER that was working today. I have now heard that the location is changing to a better establishment and thanks to this volunteer my trust is re-established at least for now. Raising to three stars as I still waited a long long time as the first in line for food. All food was however as advertised and correct as ordered.

Always fresh hot chicken, the coleslaw looks and taste like coleslaw should taste and feel, unlike another place I went to, that 9ver process the cabbage. The only problem I have with this location, it looks like trash, not one dollar of profit has been reinvested in this place. It need to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. The drive through is a real mess to deal with.

The only thing was hot was the fries and chicken sandwiches because they were cooked fresh. The chicken was not fresh at all. The biscuits were okay! I give a 5 out of 10

We stop on occasion and get a combo 3 piece and 2 piece chicken dinner. Always good service. This time no mash potatoes In either order. Ok mistakes are made and I get that. We were told to come back get replacement meals the next day. We did. We were told this was a one time deal. So if there is a screw up again, then tough luck I guess. Just didn’t appreciate the demeanor.

Just left Church's, order was missing the side item. Called and the phone went to voicemail where I was promptly told on the recorded message that the voicemail had not been set up! Very disappointing as I paid for something I didn't receive, could not get it resolved and live too far to make a return trip. This isn't the first time this has happened, however first time I've tried to rectify the shortage. I'm not a happy customer. What the heck is going on in your store? By the way, it was not busy, I was the only customer, perhaps there's a reason for that!

Mixed feelings... Ordered 3pc with macaroni and cheese and okra. Okra wasn't crispy and was very greasy. Macaroni was delicious! Probably the best part of my meal. 3pc didn't really have any flavor, just chicken, nothing special and was very greasy as well. The biscuit and sweet tea were good. This was my first time visiting churches and overall just wasn't really impressed.

First off food is delicious. What I have a problem with is when a shareable side said it feeds four people and pay 5.99 and only get a about ten more fries from the combo size fries.

Smithfields here I come for my fried chicken from today on. It doesn't matter what I order I'm always waiting for my food, never mind the wait to order! There was only one car waiting. Now I know why there wasn't a line in the drive thu. It was 1130am. Why I'mi waiting for food? I have gone to the location in Jacksonville, NC multiple times. No more. Stop frying the heck out of the pineapple pie.

I love the food here always have. But when I wait 20+ minutes for 6 wraps, 6 biscuits, and 8 jalapeño bombs I'd like what I actually ordered. I should have checked before leaving but didn't bc I was in a rush at this point after waiting so long. Nobody answered the phone when I called either. Food is expensive enough without someone having to go without when I got back with it. Was missing 2 spicy wraps and only got 4 bombs.

I ordered their spicy rice, tenders, and a tea. The container was not even half full. When I went to pick it up, it felt like it was empty. I am a tea drinker, so I know when tea has sat too long and has turned soir. The tea I received had definitely turned sour. Normally, I do not have any issues. Hope they get these issues resolved.

First the service was good. The food was fine. Was cooked fine, tasted fine all that. But I was expecting more. Lines around the building for this? Got it home and couldn't really tell the difference between it and Bojangles. Wasn't anything about it that made it stand out at all in any way. It was just fine. Would I eat here again? Sure, but I won't wait in a long line to do so. So 3 stars as just another fast food chicken.

So the man who served us in the window and then brought us our food was super nice. However for some reason my spicy chicken sandwich had a fat helping of coleslaw on it?? I have no idea why but it was pretty funny. Sad I didn’t get to eat my sandwich tho. And I hope the people working there get more rest because it was clearly an accident. The Mac n cheese is always a 10/10 tho.

Churches chicken Jacksonville what a great improvement Of the structure, the old dilapidated building hopefully it's slated for teardown. This location is a freshly built structure everything is new bright and shiny. I was slightly disappointed in the chicken quality, due to the fact when you say church's chicken you think too hot to eat right now. The chicken was slightly crunchy, And we all know churches chicken is well known for the hot juice running out of the chicken when bitten.

Food was fresh and crispy. The wait was rather long but understandable being food is made hot and fresh i would have rated them way better but the light skinned young female with twist in her hair has a very Nonchalant irritated attitude. Everything i ask her she had a problem rolling her eyes an walked away twice while I was talking to her smh then I think a Manager she was dark skinned in dark blue shirt and a little older came to window both times an fix my order. I had to ask her was the other girl having a bad day because she had no patience an was so bother by everything I said. The manager apologized for the girls actions and made sure I was ok before I left. I think they should keep the younger girl off the drive through if she isn't going to have good customer service smh thank god the other female stepped in.

Just wanted to try their new fish. Got the platter and the sandwich. There is no reason to serve someone fish on a bun that is full of bones. Didn't even try to fillet them?!? They tasted AMAZING though!!

I ordered 2 of the fish dinners and they told me they only had enough fish for one dinner. They said the rest of the fish was frozen. I could have waited for them to make more but that wasn't an option. Family meals are way too expensive and the chicken isn't that good. I knew they were going to be terrible after the grand opening.

Food is great, I don't know how they do it, so I come here. But some days I think it would be faster to raise chickens into adulthood, slaughter them myself, invent my own seasoning and breading and make my own damn sandwich. Seriously, I've seen Biden finish sentences faster.

When I pulled up to the place I was actually confused on whether it was a gas station or a Church's Chicken. They said they closed at 10 but were already closed around 9:30. Its a super ghetto set up to this place. While you are at the drive through window you can also see the regular convenience store with a display of ring pops and other snacks in the back.

I don't know what's going on with this location lately, but the last two times I have come here they have given me the wrong food. I am really getting tired of wasting money for poor service.

Do not go here if you expect to get your food quickly. This has happened to us multiple visits. The most recently tonight. We walked in to order at the register and waited 20 minutes just to order, there was only 1 guest in front of us. We then waited another 27 minutes to get our food. It was only my husband and myself, we did not have a large order, and when we finally recieved our it, most of it was lukewarm or cold.

Usually this chicken is amazing. Had to drop my review though. Spent 90 dollars, got a box of 30 tenders, then a box of 10. Family was unfortunately greeted with the saddest chicken I've seen to date. There was absolutely no seasoning, it was rubbery and horribly breaded. Not even salt on it. I want to love this place but if I have to take a gamble on my food quality it's not worth it.

I went through the drive-thru. After the automated greeting, I tried to place my order, but the person on the other end cut me off and said he would be right with me. I was the only one in the drive-thru line, and I was made to wait for about 7 to 10 minutes. I thought he forgot about me, so I started saying "Hello" into the speaker in hopes that someone would hear me. About 2 minutes after that, he gets back on the speaker and takes my order. I clearly ordered Mac and Cheese with my order. Instead, I was given mashed potatoes. I live about 20 mins away, and after that initial experience, I did not want to go back to Church's for the correct item I ordered. The customer service here is horrible. Definitely won't be returning. I provided a pic after we came to terms with our order being incorrect.

My husband and I got sick from eating here. It felt like something was eating our stomach. The girl said the credit card was down and I could go to the ATM down the street. I got back and she said, she sold ours and would make ours special. It was special alright two weeks later and we still don't feel right. No we didn't have any problem till we ate that food.

Took 45 minutes in drive-through with 4 cars ahead of me. Then when I got to the window, my order was not even in progress nor dropped. The workers were standing around laughing and conversating. Once the order was suppose to be finished... They "STILL" forgot to fix the full order. Had to wait even longer to get the missing item. 😕

I used to get a three piece wing and a biscuit. The side of the wings was huge. One would fill you up! And know they are soooooo small. I ordered 3 wins in, and I got one wing and two small thighs. Bland chicken, if they stay open long enough to get it to you. We got there at 845 tonight and the lobby was closed, supposed to be open until 9. Ok, drive through it is. Nope. Whole restaurant was shut down. I was hoping to try a sandwich tonight but that didn't happen.

This place has the most unprofessional and disrespectful workers. The wait is insane only to find them standing around on the inside or smoking on the outside. No telling what the rating is at this point. Gives the brand an awful name. Congrats to the people that had a positive review and great experience. You were extremely lucky. I hate this location. After years of trying over and over again I know nothing will change.

The worst chicken place in town! Been here a few times and only once got food. The first time I tried there chicken and it was trash, old, and cold chicken, but the biscuit was good. Every other time me and my friend came here they didn’t have what we wanted. Each time waiting on the super long drive through to come to the end then wait another 8min just to be told they were out of the exact item we wanted. This happened 3 times. I believe it to be just lazy workers not wanting to do there jobs because we would come around the same time each time around 3:00pm. We just came today to try the new chicken sandwiches and they were out of those too, how convenient. Don’t even bother coming here you’ll just be disappointed.

The inside was unorganized I wouldn’t trust cleanliness. Wait was much longer then expected I could hear employees complaining entire time. I wasn’t demanding I was understanding. Almost every time that I come here no matter what time they park every single car or tell them to pull foward and wait. I am not sure if they are short staffed or if they do it to have fast window times. But if they want fast window times they need to speed up their service instead of parking every single car. I am convinced they will park you even if all you order is a drink.

Ordered online for pickup. That went smoothly. Got to the drive through to pick up and they would buy give it to me through the window. Said they were to busy to hand it to me through the drive through window that I would have to come inside to get my food. Seems like a pretty inefficient system since every other restaurant with a drive through let's you pick up your food through the drive through. If I had know this when I placed the order I wouldn't have because I was just getting off work and was filthy and not dressed to go into anywhere. Then the chicken was very sub par. I grew up eating Churches and have been eating it for 20+ years and this was not that. Will not be back to this location.

Driest chicken, biscuit, and apple pies ever. The fries was cold, so they had been sitting there for a long time. I asked for a fresh apple pie but Carl with an attitude said he had *just cooked them and they don't have sugar on them.* A waste of $20, I should have just went to KFC, with better attitude workers, friendly and not being rude to there customers. My side of cold fries was suppose to have been baked mac and cheese. Biscuit was dry and no honey on it, looked like some took a bite out of it. 30 minutes between placing order and finally getting to window. There's 6 car lengths between drive thru speaker and window. That's insane. No one inside, so what's the deal??? Basically have my bag shoved at me, have a good day. I asked for my drink, she said I didn't get one. She just asked me if I had the smokehouse combo. Yes, combo means drink, I asked for a large coke. Shuts the window like I'm bothering her, pulls the receipt, takes 5 minutes to get me my drink. While I'm waiting, I check my box. My chicken is crispy to the point of being jerky skin wise, and they're missing my mashed potatoes and large fry. The mash was supposed to be the side for the combo, they gave me 5 French fries inside a sad little fry bag instead. No large fry at all. She finally hands me my drink, and I explain I'm missing an item. It's in the box.. Closes window and starts to leave... Have to flag her down and show her my small bag of sad fries, no mashed, no large fries. She walks off, returns with a small bag with a large fry container in it, flipped entirely upside down, shoves it at me and closes the window. Seriously guys, what the heck. This is some of the saddest service I've ever seen, and you weren't even busy. Flavor for the chicken was great, but the drum and the thigh were so dry and hard it wasn't edible. There was maybe 3 McDonald's chicken nuggets worth of meat in this thing, it looked like a pigeon. My credit card was bigger than the "half chicken" was... The fries were cold. Still never got my mashed potatoes either but I just left since you couldn't be bothered to provide service. Next time I'll just get a cook out tray for $6 and be in and out in 3 minutes. The 3 piece chicken nugget side item would have more chicken anyway.
